Triple H Hoping To Get A Deal In Place For WWE Hall Of Fame Class Of 2013 Co-Headliner – Who It Is & Where Negotiations Stand Heading Into The New Year

We’re told the meeting that was supposed to take place between Triple H and Bruno Smmartino before the holidays didn’t end up happening. The two are still in touch, but a face-to-face meeting just proved to be impossible right now with Triple H’s schedule.

The two sides are getting closer to a deal [to induct Bruno into the WWE Hall of Fame] and Triple H is confident it will get done, although with Bruno you never know. He’s the type of guy who may take it as a slight that the meeting was canceled.

It’s getting to the point where the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is only a few months away and with WWE hoping to have Bruno as one of the headliners, they’re going to start running out of time soon to get a deal done as a lot of the promotional and marketing materials are done far in advance. Triple H is hoping a deal can be finalized in the next few weeks.

Is it me or does Bruno sound like he is kind petty???

    • Patrick Peralta

he's not being petty he is just sticking to what he believes in….there is nothing wrong with that. times may change from his day but bottom line is he didn't agree with the direction Vince JR took WWE . WWE maybe successfull but it doesn't mean Bruno has to agree with that direction. He has his own ways and thinking about how wrestling should be and why should he drop his opinion just to be in a Wrestling HOF. he has a right to his opinion same as everyone else.

You gotta understand Bruno is a very old school wrestler who still believes that wrestling should still be like it was in the 60's & 70's. A lot of Wrestlers of his time are the same way. I think Bruno should be inducted as he is the longest WWE Champion of all time. CM Punk has nothing on Bruno.

      • Victor

If he doesn't get inducted soon, it will happen for sure once he's passed on without a doubt, but now would be better. And just because he has a different opinion doesn't mean anything, everybody is entitled to their own opinion, so it shouldn't make a difference.

Sounds like someone got worked by Punk's promo with the top 10 title reign board the other week :-D

So hopefully Mick Foley & Bruno Summartino are the headliners. Maybe with the TV appearances from earlier this year from Vader, Sid & DDP they may go in this year as well.

I don’t know why wwe continues to kiss his butt. Bruno wasn’t that great of a wrestler I seen some of his highlight matches wouldn’t have paid to see them. I feel like this he says he doesn’t like the current product that’s being put on TV lol these older wrestlers act as if what they did was real and not pre scripted. Wrestling has always been fake so for him to look down on what these guys go out there and do night in and night out makes him a mark. Who is he to look down on a sport that made him a household name, nobody would know who Bruno is had out not been for wrestling and lets face it a lot of fans don’t know him. There’s plenty of other people that they should go talk to about the hall of fame. Savage, Rock, Hart, Pillman,HHH, Nash, nWo, Lex Luger, etc.

different time and different tastes in wrestling… I for one love his style of wrestling and the old school way of doing things…… you ask who is he to look down on WWE and what it has done?…….why should he drop his opinion on how wrestling should be just to be in a HOF… everyone has a right to their opinion and he has his.

Pre-90's wrestling was still "fake" but it wasn't acknowledged as much as today. Wrestlers had to live the gimmick all the time. It was programmed into them back then, which is why you will still find "old-school" guys that never make a public appearance unless in character.

Not only that, but there is a good chance that had there been no Bruno, then possibly none of those people you listed would even have gotten to the point they got to.

      • snuggle

You sound crazy wrestling would’ve been around with or without Bruno, one pony don’t stop the show. For one it wasn’t Bruno that made wrestling mainstream it was Vince mind and Hogan they are the reason that wrestling survived all of these years along with stone cold. If wrestling would’ve never changed and still been like when Bruno was wrestling it would suck it would be boring and would never have been put on TV much less sell out arenas.

snuggle, sorry to disagree but guys like Bruno held the sport together through their hard work, willingness to be away from home for months at a time, stay in character ALL the time, etc. Without guys like him, VKM would not have a product to push to the levels that he has taken the WWE. Remember back in those days WWWF was just another territory, known only in the northeast. It was not a national or world wide production. I had the opportunity to get to know a lot of the old school guys and that life was not glamorous, it was a tough job. I'm not saying the folks now have it easy, but it certainly is not as tough as it was "in the day".
Bruno was no different than Flair in the later part of the territory days. There was a lot more rough travel and a lot less pay. It was something they did because they loved it, not just for a check. There are folks from that era that could not do well today and certainly a lot of folks from today's product that would not survive in that era. Imagine for a minute what is must have been like working for 10+ different promoters and not knowing if their checks were good (after you traveled and worked). And the also think about the fact that each promotion had it's "top guy" and they had to not only promote the "big guy" coming in, but also had to protect their top guys. Wrestling may not have been as flashy back then, but it sure was more entertaining both in front of the audience and behind the scenes.

It'd be pretty good for promotion if they manage to lock it down before Punk loses the title. The longest reign of the modern era and the longest reign in history. Besides, I'd love to hear Punk make another mention about July 25th 2019, or whatever the date is!
