Second Report: WWE Raw House Show Results (1/09/10) - Lincoln, Nebraska

Written by Cody on Jan 11, 2010 - 10:47:40 AM

Wrestling News World reader Cody sent in the following report:

Just wanted to add a couple things about the event.

The show started off with MVP vs. Jack Swagger, Justin reminded everyone that Swagger is an alumni from the University of Oklahoma, and there was a huge amount of boos. Justin then told the crowd that MVP says that Swagger only went to Oklahoma because Nebraska wouldn't except him. Good back and forth match, MVP won with the Playmaker.

For the next match, Justin announced Johnny Curtis, who I thought was a local jobber, until he cut a promo, which made me thing he must be from FCW. Curtis fought Evan Bourne, and Bourne won with the Shooting Star Press.

As Bourne was leaving, Cody Rhodes attacked him, and Primo made the save. The two had a match, and Rhodes won with the Cross-Rhodes.

Up next was the Diva's match, with Santino as the Guest Ref, and it was a pretty funny match. The crowd was semi into it when Gail and the Bella's were clapping, trying to get everyone to clap with them. Gail got the win by pinning Jillian.

After that was a match between Chris Masters and Carlito, that was a snooze fest. Masters won with the Masterlock.

Intermission

When Intermission was over, Justin announced that the next match was for the United States Championship, and The Miz came out to the ring. He cut a promo, and was heavily booed. He told the fans that he flew to Omaha from Boston, and then drove from Omaha to Lincoln... In the Freezing cold. He then mentioned that he was The Miz... And he was Awesome. Kingston then came to the ring, and they had a solid match, with The Miz winning with the Skull Crushing Finale.

The next match was for the WWE Championship belt, and Sheamus made his way to the ring first, to a chorus of boos... On his way to the ring he grabbed a guys sign, and tried to rip it, but only ripped a corner of it off. Next out was Mark Henry, who had a pretty decent pop. I thought the match would be boring, but it was actually a pretty solid match. I didn't get to see about a fourth of it, but Sheamus won with his "Celtic Kick".

The main event was next, and it was for the Unified Tag Team Championships. DX came out first to a HUGE pop. DX did their usual comedy routine, and Triple H mentioned that it was "Friggin" cold outside. The Big Show then came to the ring, and said that just because Jericho isn't allowed on Raw doesn't mean he can't find a different partner, and that's when he announced his partner to be Randy Orton. Orton took his time getting to the ring, but he kind of just stood outside the ring after posing for awhile, and Triple H said it was because a guy was holding a sign that says "Orton Sucks". (The sign really said, "Randy, the voices in my head say you suck"). There was a HUGE "Orton Sucks" chant, and when that died down, the match got under way. The ending felt a little rushed, but Show was hit with the Sweet Chin Music, and then a pedigree, and Triple H got the win. Afterwards, DX celebrated with the crowd.

Overall a great show.

Biggest pop:
DX
Mark Henry
MVP
Kofi Kingston

Biggest Boo:
Sheamus
Orton
Swagger
The Miz
