Second Report: WWE Raw House Show Results (10/16/09) - Huntsville, Alabama
Written by Tony D on Oct 17, 2009 - 12:18:47 PM
Wrestling News World reader Tony D sent in the following report:
I attended the house show in Huntsville, AL. This is what we saw.
Chris Masters vs. Santino Marella
This match saw comedy from Santino of course, stating he has been working on a new martial arts called Marella Martial Arts, which he stated was MMA for short. Santino said he was the only MMA fighter in all the world. Good back in forth match which ended with Santino being put in the Masterlock but getting both feet on the top ropes for a break of the hold, as Masters argued with the ref, Santino rolled him up for the pin. Winner: Santino Marella
Heath Something vs. Evan Bourne
This match was a decent match. Sorry I can't remember the developmental wrestler's last name. He reminded me alot of Edge with the way he looked but protrayed an ego style person. Anyways, like I said decent match ending when Evan Bourne landed a Shooting Star Press for the win. Winner: Evan Bourne
Primo Colon vs. Jack Swagger (Winner qualifies for Triple Threat later tonight for US Title)
Match was ok. Primo pretty much didn't get much offense but when he did, he done alright. Swagger done alot of power moves but wound up succumbing to the All American American's finisher. Winner: Jack Swagger
Melina vs. Jillian (For the Women's Championship)
Decent Divas bout between the two gorgeous ladies. Melina wound up putting the horrible singer away using her splits finisher. Winner: Melina
[intermission]
Hornswaggle vs. Chavo Guerrero
Enjoyable match, but I liked it the first time I saw it on RAW a few weeks ago. Announcer stated that Mr. McMahon called and said Chavo had to be blindfolded. The match was identical to the match they had a few weeks back. Match ended the same way as well, Chavo cheats, measures up Hornswaggle for the frogsplash, Hornswaggle plays dead, Chavo goes up, Hornswaggle trips and beats him with the Tadpole Splash. Winner: Hornswaggle
Jack Swagger vs. The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston (For the US Title)
Great Triple Threat match between three great young stars. The Miz of course mentioned how he was awesome. Great back and forth wrestling, ended when 2 of the 3 put their finishers on...Kofi on Swagger, Miz on Kofi for the pin. Winner: The Miz
John Cena vs. Randy Orton (For the WWE Championship)
Orton out first, followed by Cena. Orton does the normal heel thing and runs from Cena for awhile until match finally gets under way. Cena takes a beating and until Orton goes for thr RKO. Cena winds up locking Orton into the STFU, or whatever its called now. Legacy hits the ring and begins beating down Cena. Winner: No contest
Triple H's music hits and he comes down for the save. Triple H and Cena challenge Orton and Legacy to a match. Orton and Legacy turn to leave instead. Cena and Triple H chase them down and knock them down and brings DiBiase back to the ring. Orton and Rhodes finally gets on the ring apron to begin the handicap match. HHH winds up getting the majority of the beating until Cena comes in and takes care of Legacy and Orton. Match ends when Cena puts Rhodes in Attitude Adjustment and HHH puts DiBiase in Pedigree, double pin for the win while Orton is already trying to leave. Winners: Cena and HHH
Biggest Heat of the night: Orton and The Miz
Biggest Pop of the night: Cena and Kofi Kingston
