WWE Raw House Show Results (9/06/09) - Madison, Wisconsin

Written by Blake on Sep 7, 2009 - 10:16:29 AM

Wrestling News World reader Blake sent in the following report:

My first time attending a live WWE event, so bear with me if my descriptions sound a little grand.

- Evan Bourne vs Chavo Guerrero
Chavo and Evan get the show going, large adulation for Evan during his entrance, heat for Chavo when he enters. Chavo dominates most of the match, crowd actually gets behind him. Hornswoggle interferes, causing enough distraction for Bourne to set up the shooting star press. Bourne and Hornswoggle celebrate by Hornswoggle carrying Evan on his shoulders. (yes, you read that right!)

- Chris Masters vs Alex Riley
Masters and Riley put on a good show, brief boring chat, crowd seemed to be pleased by Masters' and Riley's physical prowess, very technical match, shades of Angle vs Benoit here. Masters wins locking in the MasterLock.

-Santino vs Sheamus
Surprise! Sheamus appears, when not even on the match card. Very comical match, if you've seen one Santino match lately, you've seen this one. Santino mocks Sheamus before the match, tells the crowd to chant "GET SOME SUN!" after he calls Sheamus "Casper." Sheamus wins, after a long fought battle that seemed to have gone on too long.

-Kelly Kelly and Gail Kim vs The Glamazon and Rosa Mendes
Been impressed by the Divas lately, they've been putting on matches that rival the guys on TV and this was apparent here as well. Kelly Kelly gets the pin for the win. The crowd jeered The Glamazon the entire time.-Miz vs MVP vs Kofi Kingston for US Title-Pre match Miz claims to have done charity work here in Madison, WI. Crowd disbelieves and boos him despite the claims, in turn he mocks the city and draws the most heat of the night. During match, Miz leaves ring lets MVP and Kofi battle it out, taking advantage at most opportune times. Kofi lands finisher on Miz and retains.

-Jack Swagger vs Mark Henry
Swagger mocks crowd during entrance, crowd welcomes Henry. Match didn't start for a long time because Swagger seemed to refuse to enter the ring and face Henry, while at ringside I noticed Swagger wears to much cologne. Swagger avoids Henry most of the match by grabbing ropes, etc. Henry fell a couple times, appeared to have injured his knee, but managed to get the pin on Swagger. Swagger leaves arena frustrated.

-Legacy vs Triple H
Legacy enters, mocks DX for getting up there and years, and mocks DX fans. Triple H enters to biggest applause of the night. Triple H tells Legacy to take it easy because he's not used to being with two guys at once like Legacy. Triple H controls first half of match, second half he fights a losing battle, gets knocked out ring, reemerges with a steel chair and strikes with it when ref wasn't looking. Triple H nails the pedigree and gets the pin.

-Randy Orton and John Cena for WWE title
Orton enters, very very slowly. Crowd boos. Audience cheers for Cena. Orton dominates most of the match, moving slowly and methodically, drawing jeers from the audience for moving strangely. Orton goes for RKO when Cena gets knocked down. Cena avoids and gets the 5 Knuckle Shuffle. Cena during a quick scuffle Orton goes for ropes to avoid getting pinned, but Cena locks in the STF before he gets there. Legacy runs in and interferes. Cena gets attacked, Triple H runs in to even the odds. Orton is already long gone. After fighting off Legacy, Triple H and Cena celebrate together, Cena leaves arena quickly while high fiving fans near the ramp. Triple H however makes multiple laps around the arena to great fanfare.Show ends, and announcer thanks the crowd and says the WWE awaits returning to Madison.
