WWE Raw House Show Results (9/19/09) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Wrestling News World reader Paul Langille sent in the following report:
Hi Just got home from the show. Thought I'd share the results...
First off Tony Chimmel was announcing and announced that due to a scheduling conflict Triple H wouldn't be appearing. Refunds would be given as long as people left by the second match. But arena was packed full for this house show, My guess was around 9-10,000 people.
Then we started the first match, Chavo vs Evan Bourne, Great action, Evan Bourne is amazing in the ring, Chavo did a great job in the match. Hornswoggle showed up from under the ring and Chavo got on his knees and kept pushing Hornswoggle, He took off his jacket and threw it at Chavo, But hit the referee, Chavo turned around to a kick to the face and an amazing Shooting Star Press. Live its amazing! Bourne won, Crowd was really into Bourne!
Next match was That high school jock Riley, Didnt hear his first name as he was booed badly, He went up against Primo. That Riley guy is big and can sure wrestle. Did a great job, Cut a great heel promo before the match. But Primo hit a crossbody from the top rope to win it. A few Primo chants...
Next match saw Santino Marella, Huge pop!! Against Chris Masters. Santino walked up to masters and flexed to a huge ovation. Then Santino got on the mic and said just like everyone in Halifax thinks, You Chris Masters are a jerk. And took a poll asking if Halifax wanted him to "Puncha Masters in da face", Huge pop, Santino got in a few great shots. Masters dominated most of the match but Santino did lock on the Masterlock on Masters, But ended with Santino getting the masterlock and submitting, Alot of heat on Masters, He went to the back after some posing and yelling at fans, Santino got up and got Tony Chimmel to announce that he was "D'ok" lol. Huge pop and Santino Chants! Hes very entertaining.
Then next was a triple Threat match for the United States Championship. The Miz who has the belt as he stole it from Kofi, Against Swagger and Kofi, Miz cut a promo on how we should show him alot of respect because he is the united states champion. And he posed and said thats how a real champion should look like. Swagger came out followed by Kofi, Huge pop. But straight to the ring, Miz hid on the outside for a bit, Alot of great action, kofi flying over the top ropes. Lots of back and forth action. Miz ended up leaving the ring, grabbing the title and walking down the aisle, Meanwhile in the ring Kofi hit Swagger with that kick, Got the 3 count, Still Champion but Miz took off with the title. Kofi ran after him, Swagger got up and yelled at all the fans before heading to the back...
Intermission, Where they through t-shirts into the crowd and told us what they had for sale at there mechandise stands.
Back from intermission, It's a Divas match, Alicia Fox against Rosa Mendes... Wow!! lol. Both started with a pose down, Rosa winning the fans over with some crazy hip movement lol. But was a great match, Though alot of whistling and a 7 year old behind me yelling take it off lol. Was a good match, Alicia is really good. She won with her scissor kick, Went to the back with a course of boo's, Rosa got a big ovation...
Next they announced that the superstars are trained athletes, Dont try anything you see at home or school...
Then there was a tag team match. MVP and Mark Henry, Versus Legacy, Rhodes and Dibiase. MVP was way over. Mark Henry was even more over. What a huge sob Mark Henry is. OMG! This match was probably 25 mins. Great action, MVP got worked over badly, But made a tag to Henry who cleared house. Alot of Henry chants and MVP chants. Henry got thrown to the outside as did Rhodes, MVP was taunting rhodes when Dibiase snuck in to hit Dreamstreet, Got the three count, Henry almost broke it up, Legacy was taunting with DX crotch chops walking to the back. MVP and Henry shook hands and saluted us and even brought in a fans sign that called them Team Power Ballin'. They seemed to like it lol.
Next was announced as the Main Event, For the WWE Championship. Randy Orton came out to boo's. Slowly walked to the ring, A few fans near ringside were cheering with some RKO signs. Then Cena's music hit and the building started to shake with cheers, We were so loud that the sound equipment malfuctioned (More on that in a few mins). cena was blown away, The match started, Was a great match, One of the best Cena/Orton matches i've seen. They went 20-25 minutes. great back and forth. The referee was knocked down. cena locked on the STFU, Orton tapped but no ref, Cena woke the referee up, turned around and got RKO'd. Orton cover, Ref counted and Cena kicked out to a huge pop! Orton couldnt believe it. Almost attacked the official, Orton then went back after Cena but Cena hit his usual moves, 5 knuckle shuffle, Then Orton got up and Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment, got the 3 count, Place went crazy again, But Legacy ran out and attacked cena to loud boo's, Then MVP and Mark Henry came running out and made the save, Ted was left in the ring with the 3 men, He begged and tryed to shake cenas hand, But cena pointed to Mark Henry who hit the Worlds strongest slam, Then MVP hit the Ballin! Huge pop, Ted got up and stumbled to cena who hit the attitude adjustment. Referee helped ted out of the ring and to the back, All three celebrated, cena called for a microphone, But none was working, The tech guys fixed it after 5 mins and they worked all match on it. Cena said he knows Halifax loves the WWE but we blew out a piece of there equipment.
He thanked us for coming out and showed that Halifax has great loud fans and fans that actually cheer him. And then said the WWE will be back sooner then they have been. Seems to be a 5 year wait. But then said he had one more special thing, Said he received a letter from someone in Halifax, A armed forces serviceman, Justin Taylor, He called him to the ring, And said his letter touched him and gave him the microphone, The man then said his dream was to be a wrestler, But didnt turn out that way, But enjoys protecting the country and serving in the army, But said he had something to do, He got down on one knee and asked his long time girlfriend to marry him, They crowd popped big time, Cena took the microphone and said nobody heard what the answer was and to do it right, They brought the girlfriend into the ring, And they started hugging and kissing, cena pulled them apart and told him to do it right lol. So he got down on one knee and asked and she said yes. They hugged and kissed again, Cena, MVP and Henry shook the guys hand while the girl was all over Cena with hugs and a kiss lol. Cena saluted the serviceman, as him and his new fiancee left, Cena said now thats a way to end the show, He thanked us for coming out and being loud. And said he hopes hes able to come back soon. MVP, Mark Henry already left, Cena signed a few signs at ringside for the kids, Then a 3 year old kid someone got through the barricade and ran at Cena, Security tryed to grab the kid and Cena pushed one guy away, Cena grabbed the kid and picked him up and took him back to his family and spent a few minutes in the crowd with fans, Then posed before going through the curtain.
Was a great show, Seemed to be a sell out! Was loud, great wrestling, Santino was funny as hell, Cena got a huge pop, Never heard anything like it and ive been to the Bell Centre in Montreal with over 21,000 fans screaming in a Habs vs leafs game. Just hoping they come back soon!
