WWE SmackDown/ECW House Show Results - 4/14/08
Cardiff, Wales
This proved to be a far better show than the Raw one this past Saturday in Cardiff, with more matches, nearly an hour longer in length and more star power, this show was by far superior.
Show begins with Justin Roberts introducing Assistant GM Teddy Long. Teddy runs down some of the main matches for tonight’s show.
Match 1: ECW World Championship
Kane def. “Gold Standard” Shelton Benjamin in a really solid opening match. Like the match Kane was in Saturday, he really sold his legs being injured throughout the match.
Match 2: Kofi Kingston def. Kenny Dykstra in a decent and entertaining match. Kenny had lots of heel heat probably only second to MVP for the entire night.
Match 3: WWE Tag Team Championship
John Morrison & Miz def. Shannon Moore & Jimmy Wang Yang in an entertaining match with plenty of face paced action thanks to Wang & Moore.
Match 4: DIVA Best Body Contest
Michelle McCool def. Victoria, Kelly Kelly & Eve in basically what used to be a bikini contest. Even though Michelle was announced the winner, Kelly had about the same reaction from the crowd, both looked fab!
Match 5: Tommy Dreamer def. Mike Knox in a very short nothing match.
Match 6: Finlay & Jamie Noble w/ Hornswoggle def. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder in a really fun match with Hornswoggle up to lots of mischief involving 3 water pistols, and juggling tennis balls.
Intermission
MVP comes out with the promise of a new radical way to improve the health of British people which was in dire need... something that’s old in the US... a toothbrush & a tube of toothpaste. He carried on berating the fans until Matt Hardy came out.
Match 7: United States Championship
Matt Hardy def. MVP (via DQ) in a good match which ended with MVP bring a chair into the ring and hitting Hardy with it. SHAME.
Match 8: CM Punk def. Chavo Guererro in a good match, liked the spot where Chavo countered the GTS with a Hurracarana, possibly best match of the night.
Main Event: 6-man Tag Match
Undertaker, Big Show & Batista def. Edge, Great Khali & Mark Henry in a solid main event.
