WWE filed this document with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday regarding the WWE Network. After reading the document, we were able to compile the following information:
- Regarding the number of subscribers for the WWE Network, based on the company’s market research, they feel they’ll be able to “ultimately attract between 2 million and 3 million subscribers at a steady state.” To reach what WWE terms the “steady state,” they’re assuming the subscriber range reaches 1 million to 2 million by the end of 2014.
- WWE will continue to offer pay-per-view events to consumers “on an à la carte basis” through their current providers, however, there is a risk the providers stop carrying their pay-per-view programming.
- The WWE Network is expected to launch in the “United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Nordics by the end of 2014/early 2015.”
