Details On The Return Of Joey Matthews To WWE

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Joey Matthews (real name Adam Birch who worked as Joey Mercury in WWE) is returning to WWE. Matthews signed a new WWE contract last week and its believed he might skip developmental and go straight to one of the main rosters.

Matthews announced his retirement from professional wrestling in 2008 citing injuries and was released from WWE in 2007. He held the WWE Tag Team Championship three times during his first WWE tenure in his team with John Morrison (who worked as Johnny Nitro during that time).
