The Miami Herald has an interview online today with John Cena promoting his 12 Rounds film which was released nationwide in theaters over the weekend. Below are highlights:
On the film being in the action-adventure genre:
''Absolutely, I feel that is the type of movie I'm best suited for, because of the audience familiarity on what I do every Monday night [on television] for WWE on Raw. They're used to seeing me take names and kick a--.''
On his character in the film:
''I was able to show a little bit more depth in character, show a little bit of vulnerability, but at the same time still show all the qualities you need to save the day.''
On performing his own stunts:
''This time it was actually imperative I do my own stunts. It wasn't really by choice.''
On his fear of heights:
''I have a weird fear of heights and ledges. I can look straight out, but I can't look straight down.''
On what is next for him:
''I'm going to be the first guy to work two full-time jobs, I'm certainly not going to leave wrestling anytime soon, but I'm not going to do movies as a hobby. I really want to devote 100-percent effort into any project I get involved with.''
