John Cena Undergoes Surgery In Pittsburgh Today

Written by Ryan Gray on Aug 26, 2008 - 4:26:20 PM

John Cena underwent surgery today in Pittsburgh to repair a herniated disc in his neck. Pittsburgh Steelers Neurosurgeon Dr. Joseph Maroon performed the procedure. Cena told the official WWE website, "you can either do one of two things: be upset or know what you can do to get better. The ultimate goal is to be as strong as I can and get back into the ring as soon as possible."

The WWE website is claiming that the injury is a result of a high impact Batista Bomb off the top rope at SummerSlam. Apparently Cena has been having numbness in his right arm and extensive pain in his shoulder.

We hope to have a update a full update on how the surgery went sometime this evening.
