The New WWE Intercontinental Champion Is...

John Morrison beat Rey Mysterio to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship at tonight's SmackDown taping from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The match, which will air on this week's edition of SmackDown, is said to go around the 20-minute mark.

Mysterio will be suspended for 30 days effective tomorrow for his first violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. He was originally scheduled to face Dolph Ziggler at the company's Breaking Point pay-per-view on September 13th.

I haven't heard but I would imagine WWE will do John Morrison defending the Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler at the pay-per-view.
