Weekend WWE Schedule - 8 Shows In 3 Days, Punk vs. Batista, Jeff Hardy vs. Edge, More
Written by Richard Gray on Jul 25, 2008 - 1:36:05 PM
WWE will run their busiest house show schedule of the year this weekend as they will run eight shows in three days. The Raw brand has three shows while the SmackDown/ECW crews will be split to run the other five shows.
- Raw starts their weekend tonight with a show at the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. Advertised for the show is CM Punk vs. Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship and John Cena teaming with Shawn Michaels to face Chris Jericho & Kane. I have not heard if Michaels will work the show or will be out selling his "injuries". Raw will run tomorrow night at the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia. The same matches as the Youngstown show are advertised. Raw will conclude their weekend with an evening show at the Jaffa Mosque in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Matches advertised are CM Punk vs. Batista vs. JBL in a triple threat for the World Heavyweight Championship, John Cena & Cryme Tyme vs. Chris Jericho, Ted DiBiase, & Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston & Kelly Kelly vs. Paul Burchill & Katie Lea, and Jamie Noble vs. Kane.
- The SmackDown/ECW crews begin their weekend tonight with a sold out house show at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. Advertised for the show is Big Show vs. The Great Khali and Matt Hardy vs. ECW Champion Mark Henry. On Saturday SmackDown/ECW will split into two crews for two shows. The first show will be at the Mid Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. Jeff Hardy vs. Edge and Umaga vs. Big Show are both advertised. The second show will be at the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset, Massachusetts. Big Show vs. The Great Khali is advertised. Big Show will not work both shows so he'll be at one or the other.
- On Sunday the SmackDown/ECW crews will run two more shows to conclude the weekend. The first show will be an evening show at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York. The second show will be on Sunday night at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The same Big Show vs. The Great Khali match is advertised.
- Monday night WWE will tape Saturday Night's Main Event prior to Raw from the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. WWE will tape next week's edition of ECW and SmackDown on Tuesday night from the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. If you are attending any of this week's television tapings and would be interested in sending us text message updates please send us an email with your phone number, your name, and the event you will attending to this email address.
If you are attending any of the live events this weekend please submit a live report.
