Welcome to WNW's Battleground Predictions! The inaugural Battleground PPV will be emanating from the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York. This month, we have Kendra, Alex, Zack Kransey, myself, and WNW reader Justin Lal doing full predictions, while Gesus, Chris Surrency, and CJ Blaze will all be on Quick Picks! But before we get started with the actual predictions, let's hear what some of the writers thought of the build to Battleground.
If I could be disappointed in one PPV build it will have to be this build for Battleground. I did like how WWE starting building the PPV right after Night of Champions, but it quickly died and became nothing more than a waste. The Raw before Battleground couldn't have been any worse for a number of reasons. I know the writers are under extreme pressure, but we really have to blame the top of the ladder on this one whether that will be Vince McMahon or Triple H. Whoever is having control of this really needs to take a step back and look. I mean, they have the Hell in a Cell PPV in a couple weeks right after this. WHY? I expect this PPV to get low buy rates and I wouldn't be surprised if the next one does the same.
While it hasn’t been the best build up for a PPV I’m willing to look past that simply because this is a quick turnaround from one PPV to another. I look at Battleground has a bridge PPV with Hell in a Cell being the end point. A lot of feuds will continue with controversial finishes which will then lead to the final chapter being written at Hell in a Cell. But there is one match that I predict will lead to a new storyline – more on that later. Seven matches have been announced as well as a kickoff match. This card has potential to be a decent PPV provided that the key matchups get the time needed to develop.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow
Wait, did WWE really throw this at us on Raw as “The former MITB Winner against the current one”? So no build, no story, just two MITB winners in a match against each other. Personally, I think it is a shame how far both men have plummeted in the past few months, but when you start talking about “He Who Buries Dissenters” or are the current carrier of a MITB case, you tend to go to the doghouse before something big happens with you. Considering my normal methods of divination for matches I could care less for are out, as Sandow isn't in WWE13 to simulate 15 matches between the two of them, I will have to rely on good old guesswork based off of who has more heat. Considering Sandow's losing streak is attributed to his MITB case, I think he is the safer bet.
Jesse's Predicted Winner: Damien Sandow
After watching Smackdown, I'm expecting this match to be sick! Ziggler sold in the ring beautifully, and Sandow sold intellectual on announce. The problem is that Sandow will screw up and cuff himself to the corner, rather than his MITB case. The excitement will be Ziggler bouncing around the the ring himself. In the end Ziggler will have to drag Sandow as far into the ring as the chained cuffs will allow to get the three on Sandow.
Kendra's Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler
This is an interesting matchup for one important reason: neither man can afford to lose. Dolph Ziggler has lost a lot of matches as of late while Sandow has been a MITB jobber. Kickoff, or preshow matches tend to lean towards the babyface since having a fan favorite win is a good way to get the crowd excited for the PPV. Six out of the last seven Kickoff matches at a PPV have ended with the babyface coming out on top. That’s not a good sign for the Intellectual Savior.
Justin Lal's Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler
These are two guys WWE is burying faster than when Kane buried Undertaker back in 2003. If you bring Damien Sandow up, the first thing wouldn't be that he is a Money in the Bank briefcase holder. He has lost more matches than he won since holding the briefcase. I don't understand why WWE doesn't start pushing the holders as soon as they get the briefcase. They are going to be going after the major titles in the future. If Damien Sandow gets beat 5 times in a row by Cody Rhodes what makes us believe he will even have a change against Alberto Del Rio or Rob Van Dam? Dolph Ziggler was treated the same way when he held the briefcase. Since this is the pre-show match, I have to go with how WWE usually books these matches and that is having the babyface(s) go over. It gets the crowd pumped and hot as the PPV goes live
Alex's Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler
I'm just going to repeatedly smack my head against something solid (I'm thinking a wall or a counter of some sort) until I figure out why WWE is just wasting the talents of Dolph Ziggler on kickoff matches and wasted crappy rivalries. I mean I could declare that Dolph Ziggler is going to win the match, but even if he does...he's losing. I can't say I have any thing for or against Sandow, I will say he is probably being wasted in a kick off match as well. Right, a winner...since Ziggler is technically in the company's "doghouse" I'll pick Damien Sandow to get the win.
Zack's Predicted Winner: Damien Sandow
Gesus' Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler
Chris' Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler
CJ's Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler
Andrew's Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler
Intercontinental Championship Match:
Curtis Axel (c) vs. R-Truth
And yet again, we have another match that was just thrown onto the card to fill time. R-Truth won a very questionable victory over Curtis Axel on Raw and that is the whole basis for the match? And this is the very same R-Truth that has been jobbing to the Wyatt Family and ADR over the past month? This one should be a no brainer for me to call, however, the champ is Curtis Axel, who has been reduced to cannon fodder for CM Punk and Paul Heyman's feud. Between the two of them, I don't know who is worse! I'm going to go with R-Truth, as the Intercontinental Title needs a change and it could easily lead into Bray Wyatt taking on another one of the fans “Heroes” and winning the Intercontinental Title.
Jesse's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: R-Truth
Axel is actually going to face someone cleanly? Doubt it! Axel will go to the ring with Heyman, and things will look strong for him, but then Ryback comes out. Axel is mad that Heyman doesn't trust Axel to get the job done, but in the end Ryback has to make the save. Axel can't win it on his own.
Kendra's Predicted Winner: Curtis Axel, Dirty
Curtis, Curtis, Curtis. I really want to like your character, but the booking you’ve received makes me not want to care about you. Curtis Axel is a decent in ring talent, but the biggest problem with his character is believability. How can I take him seriously when his first few wins were dubious? The biggest mistake WWE made was not allowing Axel to get the clean win on Triple H. The angle for that match was that Triple H was having concussion symptoms so the logical thing to do would have been for Axel to deliver a move that further injured Triple H. Instead WWE went with the concussion angle that went absolutely nowhere and in doing so wasted a golden opportunity with Axel. First impressions mean something, and this has definitely hurt Axel. Now let me get to my thoughts on this title match against R-Truth: it’s nothing more than a filler match. Axel is retaining and moving on to a new opponent. R-Truth is a decent talent to have around, but I don’t see him winning this match. WWE missed their chance with R-Truth by putting him in too many meaningless things for him to have any value when it matters.
Justin Lal's Predicted Winner: Curtis Axel
I went on record so many times on how I really dislike impromptu matches during a pay-per-view. The next thing I hate in terms of booking a PPV is when they give a "nobody" a title shot. Let me be clear that R-Truth is an established mid-carder. In fact, he even wrestled for the WWE Title years ago. However, we haven't seen him in a full blown rivalry in quite sometime, but they have him go over Axel on Raw and he is getting a title shot just like that. What about CM Punk who pinned Curtis Axel at Night of Champions before getting to Paul Heyman? At any rate, I can't see WWE booking a guy over who just came out of nowhere. I mean, wasn't he against Triple H a couple weeks ago yet he is getting a title shot? Curtis will keep his title somehow.
Alex's Predicted Winner: Curtis Axel
Just a throw away match that WWE is using to fill out the card. Curtis Axel is still a Paul Heyman guy, young and up-and-coming while R-Truth is doing very little and is getting up there in age so I don't see a title change here.
Zack's Predicted Winner: Curtis Axel
Gesus' Predicted Winner: Curtis Axel
Chris' Predicted Winner: Curtis Axel
CJ's Predicted Winner: Curtis Axel
Andrew's Predicted Winner: Curtis Axel
Diva's Championship Match:
AJ Lee (c) vs. Brie Bella
While I loved the start of this Total Divas feud, with a lack of promo work between the Divas, it has quickly fizzled into nothing more than yet another second rate attempt at a Divas storyline. I do have to say that Brie Bella has really stepped up her ring work of late, something I'd like to attribute to her fiancee but I can't. However, even though this storyline is weak at best, especially with Total Diva's on hiatus right now, AJ has yet to go through the Total Divas roster. I can see her winning here and extending this until she has to face Natalya, whom she will drop the Title to.
Jesse's Predicted Winner: AJ Lee
It's more than time for the Divas Division to get shaken up. Brie has been on a roll lately, and her ring work has been strengthening a bit. Nikki will be ringside with her sister, but Tamina will quickly take her out. Brie will be alone with AJ in the ring, Tamina outside the ring. Brie expertly throws AJ out of the ring onto Tamina, knocking Tamina back into the barricade, knocking her loopy. Brie manages to faceplant AJ to the mat for three, then flee up the ramp from Tamina and her raging venom.
Kendra's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: Brie Bella
OMG what will the IWC do in this match!? The IWC will be torn for this match as it will feature their internet darling, AJ Lee, going up against the girlfriend of their hero, Brie Bella. Let’s be honest here: the only reason people like Brie Bella is because she’s dating Daniel Bryan. If she was dating anyone else she would be considered a waste of talent, but because she dates goatface she’s relevant in the eyes of the IWC. While AJ likes to claim there wouldn’t be a divas division without her one could make the argument that if weren’t for the Bella’s there wouldn’t be a Total Divas show. The Bella's are just as important to the division as AJ is and in saying that the television show serves a greater purpose than the title does at the moment for the Divas as a whole. Brie seems to be in line for a bigger push as she was featured in the Orton/Bryan segment from RAW. I’m going to say she will take the title on Sunday.
Justin Lal's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: Brie Bella
I have waited until a diva would come along and actually compete against AJ Lee. It looks like Brie is taking that spot. She is taking that spot not because of her wrestling ability, but because she is over and she just got engaged to Daniel Bryan. The AJ steam has died down, once again, and it looks like the Brie fire is starting. I actually expect a title change here.
Alex's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: Brie Bella
Unfortunately, I see them putting the title on Brie because of her involvement with Daniel Bryan and because she is the (identical) face of Total Divas. Not to say she doesn't deserve a title run, I just think that AJ is better. Brie is born diva, but AJ is a born professional wrestler. I also could see them strapping Brie and using it to control Daniel Bryan some how. "Wouldn't want us to strip your fiance of her championship, right Daniel?"
Zack's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: Brie Bella
Gesus' Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: Brie Bella
Chris' Predicted Winner: AJ Lee
CJ's Predicted Winner: AJ Lee
Andrew's Predicted Winner: AJ Lee
Bray Wyatt vs. Kofi Kingston
Sorry if this seems like it is a bit rushed, however, WWE decided it would be a great idea to add a match on the card the Smackdown right before a PPV! And while I love the fact that Bray Wyatt is on the PPV, the fact is there is no real point to the match, which seems to be a growing theme to the entire show. And while I loved the basis of the promo on Smackdown, with Bray now going on a witch hunt of all of the fan's heroes, it clearly was a second thought of the creative team. Considering the push he is getting, I see Bray going over here in about a five minute match.
Jesse's Predicted Winner: Bray Wyatt
Kofi has proven twice this week that he's able to get away from The Wyatt Family, at least if the show goes to commercial. This Sunday there will be no commercials, so Kofi has no where to turn. Will he be able to come out of this clean? Nope, Bray will win after controlling most of the match. After it's over, Kane will appear and carry Kofi away without saying a word.
Kendra's Predicted Winner: Bray Wyatt
It’s hard to say if this will be one shot deal at the PPV or if this feud will stretch out longer. While I like the in ring work of Bray Wyatt I find his promos to be really boring. I realize his promos are not supposed to make sense, but the rambling just doesn’t serve a purpose at the moment. I thought the Wyatt’s would be feuding with top tier talent and at the time it seemed like the Wyatt’s would move ahead in the pecking order over The Shield. But that has not been the case at all. I’m going out on a limb and saying that it seems like the WWE is just giving the Wyatt’s random feuds to buy time until The Undertaker is ready to return. A match between the Wyatt’s vs. The Brothers of Destruction would be a great way for WWE to spike one of their PPV buyrates. This match between Wyatt and Kingston has potential to be a decent match. Hopefully they give the fans reason to believe that Kofi may win the match before having Wyatt win with Sister Abigail.
Justin Lal's Predicted Winner: Bray Wyatt
I really don't think I have to talk much about this match simply because it is quite predictable. I doubt Kane will be making return, which would cost Bray a match so I will save that for the future. Bray will continue his dominance with a win over Kofi.
Alex's Predicted Winner: Bray Wyatt
Talk about filler matches, Kofi Kingston and Bray Wyatt is just totally thrown in at the last second to fill time. Obviously, with Bray Wyatt on the up and up and Kofi being stuck in midcard purgatory they are going to go with Bray Wyatt. If anyone can come up with a logical reason why they'd kill the Wyatt Family momentum for a random last minute match with Kofi Kingston I'd love to hear it.
Zack's Predicted Winner: Bray Wyatt
Gesus' Predicted Winner: Bray Wyatt
Chris' Predicted Winner: Bray Wyatt
CJ's Predicted Winner: Bray Wyatt

Tag Team Match:If Goldust and Cody win, they will be reinstated by WWE. If the Shield wins, Dusty Rhodes will lose his job as an NXT trainer and the Rhodes Family is banned from WWE.
Goldust & Cody Rhodes w/Dusty Rhodes vs. The Shield (Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins) w/Dean Ambrose
Finally, we get to the good stuff! This is the one storyline in WWE I feel is worth watching right now, and that says a lot considering I am a huge Daniel Bryan fan. The Rhodes Family's plight against the Corporation has been simply compelling television, and I can't see the storyline ending here. The Shield's Dean Ambrose will have to get involved when his brothers are in trouble and will cause the Rhodes Family to lose. Then, while they are banished, they can cause all sorts of mayhem without being under HHH's thumb.
Jesse's Predicted Winners: The Shield
Cody and Dusty will go into their first WWE tag match against The Shield, and will look good at first, but then Reigns quickly gains control. Reigns over powers them both because they're both too worried about their father outside the ring. Ambrose paces out there, just waiting for a chance to take out Dusty, but then, out of the blue, Dusty takes out Ambrose. In the ring Rollins and Reigns are so shocked that they lose control of the match. Dusty plays dirty from outside, helping his boys get over in this match. Dusty pulls Reigns' feet out from under him, and pushes Rollins off the top when he's distracted. Cody and Goldust work together like never before and take down The Shield for three.
Kendra's Predicted Winner: Cody and Goldust!
This is the match that I’m looking most forward to. One of the reasons why I love this angle so much with the Rhodes family is because no one saw it coming. In the age of internet dirtsheets it’s rare when we get a big storyline without having known about it beforehand. The angle came out of nowhere when Cody Rhodes confronted Triple H and was fired thereafter. While watching the segment from RAW between the Rhodes Family and Triple H and Stephanie I can honestly say that I bought into the storyline. WWE wants the fans to hate Triple H and Stephanie and I do. When Triple H was feuding with Daniel Bryan I could never bring myself to hate Triple H because Daniel Bryan wasn’t playing the face that you had sympathy for – instead h was coming off like a douche in front of Triple H. While Daniel Bryan failed at playing that type of face against Triple H, Cody Rhodes is flourishing in this role. The sympathy he is building up from this feud should lead to a major main event push for him. As for the match it features 4 great in ring talents – yes, including Dustin Rhodes. He can still go in the ring. While I don’t think Dustin can “carry” anyone in the ring he sure can hold his own. For this storyline to work going forward the Rhodes will have to win. This is one of the matches I was talking about that will lead to the final encounter at Hell in a Cell, and hopefully actually inside the Cell for the Tag Team Championship.
Justin Lal's Predicted Winner: The Rhodes Family
WWE can really book this either way. The Shield is no longer that powerhouse faction that they used to be when they took out Undertaker and The Rock. However, they are the "security" for the top officials in the company (Triple H and Stephanie). They did lose in their match a couple weeks ago in that handicap match. Sure they were outnumbered, but does that mean anything? Ryback has been outnumbered against the faction so many times, yet they still push him into a main story. Anyway, I actually see some type of swerve going on. I know WWE can really do anything with the Rhodes family if they lose. They can come back the next week and Vickie Guerrero or Brad Maddox can sign them to a contract. With the reaction Rhodes are getting, I don't see them being taken off TV so quickly. I mean it would be stupid. However, WWE has done crazy stuff.
Alex's Predicted Winner: The Rhodes Family
I think it's fairly obvious that they're going to have the Rhodes family win this one, seeing as Cody wasn't actually fired. I don't see this match sticking with just the Rhodes family and The Shield. I see some interference from Big Show and/or the Usos. Look for a dirty finish so The Shield doesn't come off looking bad.
Zack's Predicted Winner: The Rhodes Family
Gesus' Predicted Winner: The Rhodes Family
Chris' Predicted Winner: The Shield
CJ's Predicted Winner: The Rhodes Family
Andrew's Predicted Winner: The Rhodes Family
Hardcore Match for the World Heavyweight Championship:
Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Rob Van Dam
When I think of champions that had very little impact during their reigns, the first one that almost always comes to my mind after Stan Stasiak is ADR. His current reign is sitting at 112 days as of Sunday, his longest yet with any title, and I can't think of a single moment that he has had that could be classified as memorable or groundbreaking. And while there is at least a glimmer of a storyline in this match, as compared to others on the card, I just couldn't get into the match until the Hardcore stipulation was added into it. Considering RVD's experience with Hardcore matches, this should be an easy win. However, I could easily see ADR beating down the new champion and Sandow cashing in. Beating RVD could really help propel Sandow's stock as a champion, plus set up a feud going all of the way into Survivor Series.
Jesse's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: RVD, followed by Damien Sandow
ADR will use his fantastic hardcore skills on RVD who doesn't see it coming at all. ADR is in control of it all, really works RVD over, but suddenly RVD pushes ADR onto a table and his his 5 star frog splash through the table. RVD gets the three.
Kendra's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: RVD
The workhorse of the WWE (That’s right I said it!), Alberto Del Rio against Rob Van Dam in a hardcore match has serious potential. Del Rio puts up solid matches every time he goes out there even if people don’t want to admit it or if those in attendance would rather chant other wrestler’s names. I’d look for hard hitting action along with various close calls in this one. One person I wouldn’t expect much from in this match is Ricardo. I think we can all throw out the idea of him turning on RVD. If he didn’t do it at Night of Champions he won’t do it here. One person I think we can see getting involved, albeit after the match will be Damien Sandow as he cashes in his MITB briefcase. I’m predicting Van Dam will win the title only to see Sandow steal it away from him in typical heel fashion.
Justin Lal's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: RVD, followed by Sandow
One thing I am actually looking forward to is this match simply because it is a Hardcore Match. This is RVD's type of match, but this is WWE, so we very well know it won't get as brutal as RVD wants or would get. I do expect some cool spots though and I am looking forward to it, nonetheless. As for the winner... well word going around is that RVD is going to take some time off. WWE wants to keep him around longer because of the roster being thin. Funny, RVD has a certain amount of time in his contract that he can take off... if he wants to have such a free reign, why not stick with TNA? WWE loves to eat people's healthy bodies up. Whether RVD will stay around longer depends on whether he will win or not, but I am thinking ADR will get the win. They will try to further push him as a heel by getting heat through beating RVD in his own match. ADR can brag about that all day and night for the next year. Just seems right for him.
Alex's Predicted Winner: Alberto Del Rio
Maybe I am wrong, but it seems like WWE is really phoning it in on the World Heavyweight Championship storyline. Personally I see WWE keeping the title on Del Rio. There will be a title "change" with the WWE championship no matter what, I see creative being satisfied with one major title change.
Zack's Predicted Winner: Alberto Del Rio
Gesus' Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: RVD
Chris' Predicted Winner: Alberto Del Rio
CJ's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: RVD
Andrew's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: RVD, followed by Sandow
The Best vs. The Bully:
CM Punk vs. Ryback w/ Paul Heyman
Punk and Heyman's storyline has been one of the two consistent things on WWE programming over the last few months, and honestly, I hope things continue out for a bit longer. Heyman and Punk work so well off of one another that even with someone lackluster such as Ryback thrown into the mix, they are just fine. And while I don't expect a technical masterpiece here, I do expect them to tell a great story in that ring. Ryback will go on and on about how Punk is a bully, all the while showing himself as the hypocrite he truly is. There will invariably be a ref bump and this match will get a bit extreme. While Punk will put up a valiant fight, he will inevitably fall to Heyman and Ryback's tactics, as this feud has to continue to at least Hell in a Cell, but preferably Survivor Series.
Jesse's Predicted Winner: Ryback
Ryback comes to the ring and shows his fantastic ring skills. He proves that he's the best technical wrestler on the roster, but then Punk powers through him, takes Ryback out, shows who Heyman truly loves most. Punk manages to get the three on Ryback, then turns to Heyman and asks him to take Punk back. Punk really wants to be a Paul Heyman Guy. Heyman laughs and walks away.
Kendra's Predicted Winner: CM Punk
I find it very hard to buy into this feud between CM Punk and Paul Heyman. From the moment is started I was cringing. Look, no one breaks kayfabe quite like CM Punk does. So it makes it very hard for me to believe that he “hates” his best friend Paul Heyman. Considering how much Punk breaks kayfabe it’s becoming obvious that his best feuds are against those in which he doesn’t like or see eye to eye with in real life. Before turning face he had three excellent feuds with Undertaker, Rock and John Cena – all three being guys that CM Punk is not buddy-buddy with. That’s why I’m begging for this feud to end so we can see CM Punk feud against Randy Orton and Triple H. Now those are two guys we all know CM Punk cannot stand in real life. For that reason we know that feud will be awesome. This feud against Ryback is one that will most likely have to go to another PPV before things get settled. With Paul Heyman’s involvement, Ryback will get the win which will prolong the feud.
Justin Lal's Predicted Winner: Ryback
This is one match that I doubt anyone cares for... at least for most people. I certainly don't want to see it and I actually am getting tired of this story. Punk and Heyman are great on the mic and in a story, but when Punk beats Brock Lesnar right from the start, where does he go from there? The story seems to have lost the personal feeling. It's more about dragging it out now with stars Paul can get. Sadly, Ryback is one of them. Expect Punk to beat Ryback as he continues on his path to finally get and beat up, and possibly pin, Paul.
Alex's Predicted Winner: CM Punk
With the problems that Ryback has stirred up backstage and CM Punk racking up the PPV losses, I would say that this match is a given. I hate to sound so biased but I am hoping that Punk gets the win and Ryback gets the doghouse. Let's move Punk onto bigger and better things now please.
Zack's Predicted Winner: CM Punk
Gesus' Predicted Winner: Ryback
Chris' Predicted Winner: Ryback via DQ
CJ's Predicted Winner: CM Punk
Andrew's Predicted Winner: Ryback
WWE Championship Match for the Vacant Title:
Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton
Finally, we get to the most well built feud on this entire card. Bryan and Orton's feud has taken over every show and is drowning out any other feud's progress. At this point, one has to say that WWE way overreached with the Corporation by trying to infuse them into every single storyline. But this isn't really about that, now is it? This is about the WWE Title and the renewed viciousness of the Viper. Orton has more than proven that he is willing to do anything to get to the WWE Championship and take his place as HHH's Face of the WWE. For crying out loud, he destroyed Bryan right in front of his fiancee! But as we have seen over the last few months, Bryan is not willing to go down without a fight. This will easily be the match of the night, as they will have to pull out all of the stops to keep the crowd entertained given the fact that this is their second singles match in a row. I can't see this ending clean, however, considering Orton's reckless abandon of late in his matches and his total disregard to winning a match. I think Orton will get Bryan on the outside and just keep brutalizing him until they hit a double countout, leading to Hell in a Cell where there is no escape for either man.
Jesse's Predicted Winner: None due to Double Countout
I honestly don't know how to book this in a crazy way. There's nothing at all silly or funny about this match. It's going to be an all out brawl and nothing I write will change that. Even though Bryan looked strong on Smackdown, I'm going on the beating he took on RAW, the way Orton went all Viper on him, and booking the cliché and historical way. When the face is beaten down over and over going into a PPV, he's going to win. I don't see it as a clean win. In fact, I think he will win via DQ, therefore there won't be a Champ coming out of Battleground.
Kendra's Predicted Winner: Daniel Bryan via DQ, Title still vacant.
This feud started with controversy at the end of Summerslam involving these two and controversy once again occurred at the end of Night of Champions. It’s going to happen again at the end of Battleground. WWE needs a controversial finish in this match to keep the storyline going with a new twist all the way to the end of October at Hell in a Cell. I’ll make it simple: Who’s not on this PPV that has played a major role on WWE television in the past few weeks? The Big Show. He will get involved in this match. How? The same way he’s been doing his job as of late – doing whatever Triple H or Stephanie tells him to do. In case you haven’t been noticing Daniel Bryan has been carrying a white towel with him to the ring. I’m going to predict that Triple H will force Big Show to throw in the towel on Daniel Bryan’s behalf. Now obviously for this to happen Daniel Bryan will need to be in a precarious position, most likely locked in a submission move by Randy Orton. Perhaps Orton will have Bryan in the Yes lock or he may put the Crossface on – that seems to be a go to move for some when they need to put on a submission in big matches. Or Orton may have Bryan set up for the punt which leads Big Show to throw in the towel. Big Show throwing in the towel for Daniel Bryan could be due to two different scenarios: either he’s forced to throw it in or he does so because of his own judgment. If he does so by himself that would make things very interesting. It could be that all along Big Show was in on it which wouldn’t be surprising considering his track record. It would also mean that Big Show would be Daniel Bryan’s next feud. As far as the match goes expect another good back and forth encounter between the two. The last match they had was good, not great. It’s interesting in that the last two times Orton has faced Daniel Bryan he has lost to him, but in both of those matches Orton never hit the RKO. I still don’t think Orton will hit the RKO in this match, rather he will win by the controversial finish I’ve talked about. Hopefully then they turn the RKO into a storyline in that Bryan brings it to Orton that he’s been unable to hit him with it. This would obviously frustrate Orton. That will be a great side storyline to their obvious match at Hell in a Cell. It’s there that Orton should finally hit the RKO and end this feud with Orton coming out on top. There’s a lot to digest with this particular prediction, but it’s something that I feel fairly confident about for two reasons: 1) They need a controversial ending to set up the HIAC match, 2) Big Show doesn’t have a role at this PPV.
Justin Lal's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: Randy Orton
This is one match that I actually can't stand and I will call WWE out for it. This is the exact same match from Night of Champions... only the title is vacated. So, what is going to happen if there is a DQ... or a count out? Will the match stop and the title will still be vacated? What if Daniel Bryan wins... will Triple H reverse the decision again? How do we know the high officials won't do something to stop Daniel? What about interference? So many things can happen... but not for the good. If WWE wants $50, they need to give us a winner. They reversed the decision from the last PPV and they could do it again or simply not crown a champion OR even make the match go and go and go after a DQ and count out and interference. I understand that stories need to continue, but it seems like WWE takes the wrong path... or at least the path that is illogical. Since Hell in a Cell is about two or three weeks away, I am actually going to go out on a limb and say that no one will be crowned champion. SOMETHING will happen and it will lead to a match between the two in the cell.
Alex's Predicted Winner: Draw
This rivalry needs a new twist or something added to it soon, because it is getting stale fast. The problem is that unless Daniel Bryan wins, and actually gets to keep the title for more than 24 hours, then how are we supposed to believe he is ever going to win it? In order to keep the fans interested there needs to be a pay off. I say WWE straps Daniel Bryan (for the third time) and finds a way to keep the angle going, but leave him strapped this time.
Zack's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: Daniel Bryan
Gesus' Predicted Winner: Daniel Bryan, Dusty Finish
Chris' Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: Randy Orton
CJ's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: Randy Orton, Dirty
Andrew's Predicted Winner and NEW Champion: Randy Orton, Dirty
