Pre-RAW Commercial

Last week Brock sent a message, but an unbridled Punk is there tonight. And last week Cena chose Bryan, tonight they make it official with a contract signing to kick off RAW!

RAW Starts

Video

At MITB Heyman ended his friendship with Punk. Heyman went on to tell Punk last Monday that he can’t beat Brock. Without Heyman, Punk isn’t the best in the world. Punk says he’s going to get Heyman. The video shows Brock destroying Punk last week on RAW. Also, after Cena survived Henry at MITB, Maddox told Cena he could pick his own opponent at SummerSlam. Cena, of course, picked Bryan. The fans went wild for Bryan, as always.

In Ring Segment

Drum roll for Maddox with the lights out. Maddox is in the ring in a very pale gray, almost off white suit jacket over a shite shirt, black tie, and oddly blue pants. He talks himself up a bit. He decided to let Cena choose his own opponent for SummerSlam, and tonight they’re going to have the contract signing. Maddox introduces Cena to the ring. Cena out to mixed reaction, much of it heat. Cena sits at the table.

Maddox – Now, Cena, before the signing…
“YES!” “YES!” “YES!”
Cena – Let him talk, this is RAW. What’s on your mind?
Maddox – Before we get to the signing, there’s a curriosity factor. Why Bryan?
Cena – That’s an easy one, because of you. You let me choose anyone. I listened to the ‘Universe’ and the decision was clear in my mind.
Maddox – Some say you knew you could beat him. You’re bigger, stronger, and he looks like a troll. Isn’t Bryan the missing link. Some would say Bryan is unstable. He can’t hold a relationship together.
Cena – You look unsure of these accusations. You sure Bryan is all these…

Bryan’s music and he comes out as Austin erupts with “YES!” “YES!” “YES!” and Bryan appears to be in awe when he gets to the ring. Bryan gets the “YES!” “YES!” “YES!” going again and the fans are wild!

Bryan – Gee Brad, it seems to me that you’re saying.

“Daniel Bryan!”

Bryan – You’re saying I don’t deserve a shot at that, but I think these people agree with you.
Maddox – You think you deserve it? Why do you think Cena chose you?
Cena – Easy, easy tight coat! You wanna know why Cena picked him, you’d be man enough to ask Cena. Bryan, the reason I chose you because Maddox and the dumbasses he works for are afraid to see God given talent and ability, even when its beard is staring them in the face. You want to run this man down for being half my size? Run him down for not being as strong as me? If size is everything that matters for this (Cena throws down the strap at Maddox) you run to the back and give that to Khali. I got names like HBK, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero that prove ability and passion make a WWE Champ, not just size and strength.

“Eddie! Eddie!” (Cena removes his hat in respect for Eddie.)

Cena – Bryan, if I can be honest. The ‘Universe’ loves you right now, and I’m proud of you for that, but I chose you because you earned it, and you deserve it. Being a wee Champ is about facing the best competition at all times, and sometimes that’s not the most likely source. If I didn’t choose you, would you be in this match, I don’t know, but I did pick you. I picked you to compete. Just because of that, doesn’t mean I’m going to hand you this. (Cena signs) I just signed this contract, I’m going to SummerSlam to defend the WWE Championship. You’re the best competition in the company right now, and at SummerSlam I will prove even the best isn’t good enough.

“Daniel Bryan!” (Bryan signs)

Bryan – Well, John…
Maddox – There you have it, ladies and gentlemen, Cena versus Bryan at SummerSlam!
Bryan – “NO!” You don’t get to interrupt me! I have waited my entire career for this opportunity and proven I deserve this.
Maddox – You’ve proven you deserve it? You really deserve it?
Bryan – Yes.
Maddox – Cena thinks so and a vocal minority of the ‘Universe’ thinks so, but not everybody does. That’s why I’m giving you an opportunity to prove your critics wrong, and how better than in a match tonight. Did I say a match, matches. Plural, more than one. Do I think you’re going to prove yourself worthy? “NO!”

“YES!”

Maddox – “NO!”

“YES!”

Maddox – “NO!”

“YES!”

Maddox – “NO!”

“YES!”

Maddox – “NO!”

“YES!”

Maddox – “NO!”

Maddox – “NO!”

Maddox – “NO!”

Maddox – “NO!”

Vickie was named Smackdown GM, then threw Long out of the arena.

Backstage Segment

Renee Young – After a lengthy absence you returned to what you thought was your rightful position on Smackdown, but that’s not what happened, was it?
Booker T – Not quite. I must say I respect McMahon’s decision, but after Vickie was made GM, I was a bit shocked.
Long – You shocked, what about me? I filled in for three long months, and you wouldn’t know the abuse I took while you sat at home with your feets propped up in your chair.
Booker T – You of all people know I had surgery.
Long – All I know is I was left holding the bag. After all I did for you and Smackdown, Vickie had me thrown out.
Booker T – You keep going on, I’ll have you thrown out.
Long – That’s what you’re all about, physical aggression. If I wasn’t going to be named GM, maybe McMahon made the right decision. I’m out of here.

Long leaves and Booker T looks after him in shock.

Recap of Ryback’s attack on Jericho after Jericho’s match with Axel on Smackdown.

Backstage Segment

Josh – You attacked a hapless Jericho, and based on some of your actions, people think you enjoy intimidating others.
Ryback – You know what? I do. Like you, you little twerp, you’re about average size. You represent the WWE ‘Universe’. I hate average. The law of the jungle, always eat the weaker and smaller. Taking lunch money on the playground, or manhandling anybody I want, the big guy needs to eat. You, people like you, deserve to be intimidated by me. If not, I’ll show you why you should be. (Ryback steps up at Josh who backs up, thanks Ryback, then flees.)

What I’m not proud about is what happened last week with The Shield. My heart don’t pump Kool Aid! Any man that takes a whooping like I took is willing to give one out. I’m not going to lull you all to sleep. I’m wide awake. The Shield wants me, I’m right here.

Bryan – You here to wish me luck.
Cena – I don’t think tonight’s about luck. Maddox put you in last minute matches. Did you see how nervous he was out there. I got a hunch he’s not making his own choices.
Bryan – No one appreciates you picking me for SummerSlam more than I do. It’s an increidble opportunity, and I know it. I’ll be fine, on my own.
Cena – I just want you to make it to SummerSlam.
Bryan – I don’t care who my opponents are, or how many. If you were in my shoes, you’d be saying the same thing, and I wouldn’t be trying to stop you. Maddox was right. This is an opportunity to prove I belong here. Tonight I’m going to fight, and I’m going to win. Please, don’t deprive me of this opportunity. If you do, if you get involved in any of my matches it will prove that all you said was nothing but a load of crap.

Backstage Segment

Maddox on his cell phone, Trip comes in.
Trip – You don’t think Bryan is big enough. You don’t think Bryan is strong enough. You, in your vast experience, don’t think Bryan is Championship material?
Maddox – Well, I, um…
Trip – It almost sounds like someone put words in your mouth. I don’t care what the old man thinks, I think Bryan very possibly could be the future of this company. You know why I didn’t come out and override all your decisions you make?
Maddox – Because you liked them.
Trip – No, no, I think it doesn’t matter what you throw at Bryan, he’s so driven, he will overcome anything. See, there’s two trains leaving the station, you need to choose wisely which train you get on. One train is the future, one is a dead end.

Trip leaves, and Maddox looks after him, but a hand slaps on his shoulder and it’s Steph.
Maddox – Hi, how you doing?
Steph – How you doing? (Takes Maddox’s hand and shakes it solidly.) I feel for you Brad. My Dad, my husband, rock hard place. I’ve been there.
Maddox – Yeah.
Steph – And, I’ve got an idea that might help. I haven’t thought it through, but I will talk to you about it. You just need to get on board.

Punk to the ring in jeans and Punk t-shirt. Video recap of the fight between Brock and Punk last week, where Brock beat Punk down.

Punk – Let’s go ahead and talk about what we just saw. Last week I had my ass handed to me by Brock. He hit me with his best shot over and over until I was in a heap right here. I felt his power, and knew I was dealing with a genetically gifted freak athlete. But no matter how hard he hit me, how far he threw me, or how fast he snatched me up, and how quickly he F5 me onto the table, I got up. One week later, 13 staples in my head. A severely messed up ankle, a messed up ribs, my elbows messed up, hell, I probably shouldn’t even be there. I feel like I was in a car accident, but you know what? I’m still standing! That’s the things about a Brock ambush. He can beat me down, but he can’t keep me down. Let’s talk about Brock. He’s an NCAA Champ, a former WWE Champ, and possibly the most impressive, a former UFC Heavyweight Champ. You’re talking about a guy who in his past couple fights he’s broken Trip. He’s broken Cena, he’s broken Taker. Over all the years, all the fights, all the matches. His biggest strength hasn’t been his size, his speed, his power, not his fighting skill, it has and always will be about one thing – fear. I’ve seen some of the toughest men getting instilled with fear. I am not afraid of Brock Lesnar! I’m not afraid of Heyman’s monster. Now let’s talk about Heyman.

Heat!

Punk – Heyman had a decision to make, and he made the wrong one. I’m going to make sure he lives to regret it every single day of his miserable life. Because I’m relentless. I’m not going to stop until Brock is in the same heap he left me in. I’m not going to stop until Brock returns from the hype he came from. It doesn’t matter what Brock or Heyman thinks, this is my ring! I own it and proven time and again against everyone put in the ring with me. I’m talking Cena, The Rock, Taker, and I would have proven it until my best friend stabbed me in the back for the second time!

“CM Punk!”

Punk – Paul Heyman, Pauly, listen up, and this is a truth I’m going to take… to my grave. There will not be a third time. I will get my hands on you, and I will make you pay, and in the meantime, I’m not going to stand out here and pretend that Brock isn’t a big, mean son of a bitch, no, I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to pretend he’s not the monster his is. But I will say that monsters were put on this earth, and directly in my path for one reason, to be slaughtered! If Brock is the beast incarnate, then I want that beast. Here’s what I want. I want him here right now, but I know he’s not here, so I want his ass at SummerSlam. I want CM Punk versus Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, I want the best versus the beast!

Heyman – The Best versus The Beast! I don’t care who gets top billing. I like it, it’s clever marketing.

Punk – Are you here, or by satellite? If you’re here, I’m going back there and grabbing you from the hidey-hole you’re hiding in, and I’m going to drag you in front of the people of Austin and give you what you deserve!

Heyman – Is this way you’re reduced to now. You’re going to stand there in the ring and play hero to these um – Brock, what do you call them? They’re not people, they’re not animals, they’re they’re Texans. Thank God that we live in the age of instant global communications that we can deliver our message to you and the entire ‘Universe’ and never once have to step foot in Texas! But there you are, right there in front of all your new worshipers playing hero. Brock has a very interesting theory about that, show me a hero and I’ll show you a coward that ran out of options, or a fool who’s just too stupid to stay down. What are you Punk? Are you a coward, or are you a fool?

“Heyman sucks!”

Punk – I’ll give that answer to you and your client at SummerSlam.

Heyman – You know, how do I admit this to everybody, this bother me…

Punk – What bothers me is that you’re via satellite, where are you right now? I will drive, fly, no I will walk there and kick your ass right now. Get the hell out of here with this via satellite garbage!

Heyman – What really bothers me is to this day you don’t realize that we were the reigning defending WWE Champion for 434 days based on, admittedly your talent, but my strategy, and strategically speaking, my client is in the peak form, the best fighting form of his career, but look at you. Look at you, you’re not recovered yet, you’re all beat up from MITB, and you’re all beaten up from last week from the beast incarnate himself. If it’s a fight you want, CM Punk your challenge for SummerSlam is accepted, but please stop calling this The Best versus The Beast,
because the best is the beast, he’s my client, and my best friend in the world, Brock Lesnar.

“CM Punk!”

Bryan with “YES!” kicks on Ryback, but Ryback pushes Bryan into the stairs back first. A few “holy shit!” chants, then the “Goldberg!” chants again. Bryan in, Ryback in after him and takes “YES!” kicks. Ryback to his knees, takes more “YES!” kicks. The last on Ryback scoops Bryan up, but Bryan reverses for two. Bryan sets up for the “YES!” lock, but Ryback grabs hair and slings Bryan. Ryback eats corner, and Bryan climbs. Sick missile drop kick on Ryback for a long two!

Bryan with the “YES!” lock on Ryback in the center of the ring. Ryback crawls, struggles, finally makes it to the bottom rope and the fans are pissed! Ryback rolls out. Bryan runs the apron, but Ryback catches his knee and powerbombs Bryan to the floor. Ryback then pulls Bryan up and powerbombs Bryan through the table. The ref calls for the bell.

Winner – Bryan (9:13)

Ryback pulls Bryan up, but Cena is there and slams Ryback into announce, the camera misses it being in the wrong spot. Ryback into the ring. Cena then sends Ryback out the other side.

Cena – After a half hour fight you want to put this match through a table? Why don’t you try doing that to me? You and me in a Tables Match?
Ryback (off mic) – That’s what you want, that’s what you got.

Backstage Segment

Maddox – How about that, main event for next week, Cena versus Ryback in a Tables Match.
McMahon – What about Daniel Bryan? You’re not going to deny Bryan the opportunity to prove himself, are you?
Maddox – Right.
McMahon – Bryan should face someone bigger and stronger than he is. Someone that’s going to bring out the vicious side of him. Like, maybe a friend. A best friend.
Maddox – Bryan versus Kane.
McMahon – You damn right.

In Ring Segment

Bryan rolls into the ring and stands the fans go wild. “YES!” “YES!” “YES!” Bryan chants along with them, then leans on the ropes. Video recap of Ryback putting Bryan through the table. Bryan watches on the tron and shakes his head. The camera shows behind Cena looking at Bryan, looking at the tron. More “YES!” “YES!” “YES!” to end the show.

Hey everyone! Welcome to the RAW Open Thread Party!

    • Robbie

      Hey Ken :)

      • http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/ Kendra Bunyon

        Hi Robbie!

        • Robbie

I would also like to wish you a happy birthday!

          • http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/ Kendra Bunyon

Thanks! I asked Brooks to write the RIB for me tomorrow as I have a busy day, but completely forgot about it being my Birthday, so I’m thrilled I passed it off for the week.

    • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Happy Birthday Kendra. Hope you have many many more amazing ones to come

  • Jesse Sherwood

Welcome to this week’s Raw Watch Party! I am your co-host Jesse Sherwood, and there is an excellent Raw lined up this week! Let’s Break it Down!

    1. John Cena had the opertunity to pick his poison for SummerSlam and he picked Daniel Bryan! What will these two titans bring to the table tonight?

    2. The Big Show will return tonight after a two month sabbatical! What will the Giant have in store for the WWE roster and who will be his target?

    3. Speaking of targets, The Wyatt Family has targeted Kane! Will we see the Big Red Monster return to his evil roots to slay the Eater of Worlds at his own game?

    4. Dolph Ziggler was left laying in the ring after Big E hit him with a Big Ending last week, but Ziggler caused the Black Widow AJ to snap on Smackdown! Will we see her rage against Dolph some more or will Dolph strike first?

    5. Alberto Del Rio suffered a huge loss to Randy Orton this past week on Smackdown! Will this be enough to get the Viper a WHC match?

    6. CM Punk has vowed to destroy everything Paul Heyman holds dear! Where will he start?

All of this and more will happen tonight! What are you looking forward to?

    • Jimmy

What are the odds of Kane & Big Show becoming a team again? And what are the odds of Kane, Show & Undertaker vs The Wyatt Family at Summerslam?

      • Jesse Sherwood

That is a long shot at best, but it would be awfully interesting!

  • http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/ Kendra Bunyon

Contract signing between Cena and Bryan? That sounds really not exciting. Yes, fun with Bryan yelling and getting the fans into it, but nothing like a heel and face signing and duking it out.

    • Mr. A.k.A

Think we might see a turn?

      • Jesse Sherwood

I doubt it. Bryan acting like a heel against Cena will only get the fans behind him more. And Cena will never go heel.

        • Mr. A.k.A.

          I like that answer.
I was kinda thinking they might try to force a heel Bryan on us. Like theyve done in the past, try to force us to cheer for Cena, even though they know we wont.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Are the drum roll introductions going to be Maddox’s thing now?

    • Jesse Sherwood

It sure looks like it! Who needs music when you have an awesome drum roll?

  • Jesse Sherwood

The drum roll to introduce Maddox is corny, but fits with his personality!

    • Xavier

      Agreed.

    • Mr. A.k.A.

Got him a little heat off the bat.

      • Jesse Sherwood

He gets heat just by talking! But he isn’t really acting like a heel GM, despite his words. He is really more neutral, which is unusual.

  • Jimmy

RVD vs Big Show! ECDub, ECDub, ECDub

    • Jesse Sherwood

That hasn’t been announced yet. Where did you hear it?

      • Jimmy

Nowhere lol just something i’d like to see.

        • Jesse Sherwood

I’m not sure I want to, but it would be a throwback to 2006!

          • Jimmy

Dream match right now is RVD vs Christian. Chances of it happening?

          • Jesse Sherwood

I’d say pretty high! Christian and RVD seem like they’d be chomping at the bits the fight each other.

  • Xavier

I like Maddox trying to stir the pot, nice touch to add to the segment.

    • Jesse Sherwood

It fits with his neutral character. Finally, we are getting some organic characters!

  • Jesse Sherwood

“This gentleman and the dumbasses he works for…” Priceless Cena!
“If size is what makes a WWE Champion, then run to the back and give this to the Great Khali!” Cena shooting a bit! I want this Cena more!

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Was there a guy screaming “Make Him Tap” after the “Daniel Bryan” chants?

    • Jesse Sherwood

      Yep!

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Bryan is going to run the gauntlet?

    • Jesse Sherwood

I hope so! Let Bryan prove why he is the vest wrestler in WWE!

  • Xavier

That was a weak segment. The back & forth between Maddox & Bryan was terrible.

    • Jesse Sherwood

It was more on Maddox. His weaker mic skills started showing through. Maddox is good in short bursts, but as his commentary in NXT proved, he has a long way to go before he could carry a segment.

      • Xavier

I wanted too see more back & forth between Cena & Bryan tonight. Cena brought it on the mic tonight but that segment was really short lived. I really hope this feud gets more personal in the coming weeks. I understand that Punk/Lesnar is the blood feud going into Summerslam and you don’t wanna overdue it on those but they have to do a better job of building up some tension between Cena/Bryan.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Do you guys think that Alberto will be affected in any way by Memo’s (his brother’s) release (if that’s possible)?

    • Jesse Sherwood

I doubt it. ADR really seems like an island in WWE. I’ve yet to hear of him having many positive relationships backstage.

      • Xavier

Aren’t him and McIntrye really good friends?

        • Jesse Sherwood

I’m not sure Xavier. But considering ADR’s attitude, I’d be surprised if they were. Do we know who he travels with?

          • Xavier

I thought Richard posted sometime back about wrestlers who travel together and mentioned that Del Rio & McIntrye were good friends and traveled together

          • Jesse Sherwood

He may have and I just missed it. Darn my illnesses!

        • Jimmy

I’m pretty sure that it’s Sheamus & McIntyre

  • Jesse Sherwood

That bruise is healing well, but it still looks nasty! It has to hurt like heck!

  • Jesse Sherwood

Boy, the fans are uninterested in this match! Michael Cole chants!

  • Jesse Sherwood

And Lesnar is already trending worldwide! Hasn’t even been on TV yet! That should show his drawing power!

  • BrooksOglesby

A little worried about the more tepid crowd this week, especially since next week’s show will be taped. The absolute most important factor right now for Bryan is crowd support. I have confidence that Bryan will fire up the crowd in the ring, but you have to think that the powers that be will be a lot more willing to pull the trigger on Bryan if huge reactions are universal.

    • Jesse Sherwood

His reactions were moderate in my opinion, but I blame the format of the segment. Crowds hate contract signings and the 2 faces meant no violence. Then there was the fact Maddox talked too long…

      • Xavier

Could also be because their not on the East Coast as well

        • Jesse Sherwood

Texas usually has pretty good crowds as well.

  • Jesse Sherwood

Del Rio is being ginger with his covers to make sure he gets the good leg. Respect!

  • Jesse Sherwood

A cheap heel win for ADR! Normally, I would be against the World Champion using such tactics, but it worked really well here. You have to take advantage of the injury somehow!

    • Jimmy

Especially since there’s barely any heel that would go over Cena 2.0 clean.

      • Jesse Sherwood

Yeah, I was shocked when they gave Bryan the clean win a couple of weeks ago. I’m going to have to look back and see who the last heel he put over clean before tonight.

        • Xavier

          Big Show I think

          • Jesse Sherwood

Yep! April 23rd, 2013 Sheamus lost to Big Show on Smackdown clean.

  • Robbie

The cast of Total Divas will be the guests for MizTV

  • K!NG

Much respect for Sheamus Dude is prlly the toughest in the WWE

    • Jesse Sherwood

He is one of the guys I’d bank on to work through almost anything. The fact he wanted to work last week is crazy!

  • Jesse Sherwood

Miz TV with the Divas? I smell Kharma biting the Bellas in the bum!

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

A Teddy Long Heel Turn? Hmmm

  • Xavier

Where are they going with this Booker T/Teddy Long angle. They’ve been doing this for awhile now.

  • Kev

I just find it ironic that WWE is really clamping down on moves that may cause concussion but still allow Del Rio to kick guys in the head week after week. Is it just me that thinks he’s reckless as hell?

    • Jesse Sherwood

I do tend to agree. Del Rio has had a huge history of botching moves and all it would take is one error to cause some serious damage.

      • Kev

Yup. They banned Orton’s punt for being too risky yet still allow Del Rio’s superkick to the temple and the running Enziguri which I think are both just as bad if not worse. Really dont understand that at all.

  • Xavier

Titus O’Neal has some potential. I think he could get over as a face if he ever gets a single’s push

    • Jesse Sherwood

He does and has really improved over the last 2 years. He just needs to remember not to drop F Bombs in the ring!

      • Kev

I would have loved to been a fly on the wall in Vince’s office after that little gaff.

        • Jesse Sherwood

Same here Kev! That had to be a fun one. I bet Vince used it at least 6 times himself!

          • Kev

Is it just me or does Titus not remind you of Ahmed Johnson

          • Jesse Sherwood

OMG! You’re right, but Titus at least has charisma!

          • thepowerserge

And yet, I may be alone in liking the whole Pancake Patterson bit. Shows another side of him, at least. Better than being part of the Prime Time Jobbers.

          • Xavier

use too be a big Ahmed fan back in 95/96.

    • Jimmy

Give him a couple of years, he’ll easily be the next big thing. He’s got the look and charisma for days, all he needs is more ring time to step up his ability.

  • Jesse Sherwood

You know, if they knew this was HBK’s birthday, I’d have booked Raw in San Antonio instead of Austin. Throw a big Birthday Bash for him after the show.

    • Navin T. Ramkissoon

It’s also Moolah’s and Fandango’s. Moolah would have been 90 and Fandango is 32

      • Jesse Sherwood

Yeah, but Fandango’s home is in Maine and they will never bring Raw there live… *Waits for Kendra to smack him*

        • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Lol True. Do you think they will acknowledge his birthday however if he has a match? I can understand them acknowledging Shawn because he is …… well Shawn but I am not too sure that they will acknowledge Fandango’s. I could be proven wrong however

          • David

They kind of mentioned it was Fandango’s birthday. On the bottom of the screen when they were showing the tweets, on was from Summer Rae, who wished him a Happy Birthday.

          • Jesse Sherwood

They’ll acknowledge it… By giving him a loss!

  • Jesse Sherwood

Ryback doesn’t fit well as this “Bully” character. It feels like a straight rip off of Bully Ray.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

I honestly am fed up of Ryback at the moment. I am just being honest. I was never that big of a fan of him from the outset and his in ring work has not won me over at all. I know I may get some gaffe for that but like I said I am just being honest.

    • Jesse Sherwood

He has moments where he can shine, but 90% of the time he just is standing there, sucking oxygen and being mediocre.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

I am personally glad that Mark renewed his contract. I hope creative books him well and gives him at least one final run with the belt (even if its a short one) at some point down the road.

    • Xavier

I have faith that they will, Henry would of never agreed to an extension if he wasn’t getting a good deal. He’ll be a upper midcard/main event guy

      • Jesse Sherwood

And I’ll bet he got a raise this time instead of the pay cut!

        • Xavier

          No doubt

  • Robbie

If they do go ahead with the Henry face turn (and it looks like it will happen) then I hope it won’t be like last time and a corny face

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Is the Big Show going to return to help Mark with The Shield. He has history with both Mark and The Shield

  • Xavier

Mark Henry/Usos vs The Shield at Summerslam. I like the sound of it anyway. The Usos have gotten over and Henry is getting over as a huge face.

    • Jesse Sherwood

Proof that WWE is starting to listen to the fans. We didn’t want Henry as a Heel, and they turned him.

      • Xavier

Listening to the fans can be overrated sometimes. Gotta pick & choose your spots. Can’t the fans book the product

        • Jesse Sherwood

Not true, as that was Dutch’s mentality and it worked very well for him. Granted, it was a smaller market, but when you start drawing a 15.0 and a 55% market share, you must be doing something right.

          • Xavier

What if Vince would of listened to the smark fans and turned Cena heel in early 06? That would of set the company back big time

          • Jesse Sherwood

I agree that there are times where we are very wrong, but the flipside of that is what would have happened if he had listened to us and flipped him this year? I bet WWE would be drawing a 4-5.0 again.

          • Xavier

Agreed. I think the reason Vince hasn’t pulled that trigger yet is because he doesn’t quite feel confident that someone can fill his shoes long term. Turning a major face heel always looks good on paper but sometimes long term it could hurt more then it helps, Austin’s heel turn is the perfect example of that

          • Jesse Sherwood

True and WWE has another great chance now. Bryan and Punk are quite arguably right at the cusp of that level.

  • Jesse Sherwood

Boy, Darren Young has been getting quite a few matches lately! RVD on Friday and Ziggler tonight.

    • Robbie

And Punk a few weeks ago!

      • Jesse Sherwood

I don’t want to remember that awful match!

  • Jesse Sherwood

Big Electric Chair Drop by Young! He’s growing on me, but still needs a lot of work.

  • Jesse Sherwood

Boy, do they think that we have never installed an app before?

    • Xavier

Where the hell is Cubed56 at. I knew someone was missing lol.

      • Jesse Sherwood

I’ve been wondering that myself. Maybe you can ping him on FB?

        • Xavier

          Forgot his real name lol

  • Jesse Sherwood

Honestly, I will be watching Total Divas if for no other reason than for the chance to get to know JoJo and Eva Marie. Eva interests me based on her look alone.

    • Xavier

I won’t watch because I’m not a fan of stuff like that but I think Vince will make a lot of money off of this and will bring a lot female fans, it’s a great business move

  • Jesse Sherwood

They had to show the Bellas in all of their catty selves! Blech!

  • Robbie

Guess that Eva Marie will be the heel

  • Jesse Sherwood

And Natty got the biggest pop out of all of them!

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Did not see that coming. Wow

  • Stephen Cash

    That was pathetic…

  • Scottyo614

What a flop. I’m already sick of total divas

    • thepowerserge

The only good thing about the segment was the “unintentional” nip slip from Brie. Not really sure they DIDN’T mean to do it, though. Any press is good press, right?

  • Stephen Cash

Eva Maria has A LOT of work to do…

    • Navin T. Ramkissoon

      Eva Marie

  • Jesse Sherwood

Every one of the Divas looked very elegant. It’s a shame that looks aren’t everything! Eva Marie has a lot of work to do on the stick.

    • savokes

      *insert clever sexual innuendo*

    • thepowerserge

Guess she really SHOULD follow the advice of the “veterans”, the Bella Twins, about how to “work the stick.”

  • http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/ Kendra Bunyon

Miz TV with that new Diva really blew chunks. Not at all impressed with that segment!

    • Xavier

I think the segment came off ok

      • Stephen Cash

        What are you smoking?

        • Xavier

          Nothing, what are you drinking

          • Stephen Cash

What was good about that segment? The slap was terrible…

          • Jesse Sherwood

Vickie’s on Smackdown was much better!

          • Xavier

I said it was ok, not nearly as bad as everyone made it out too be. It just so happens that Miz was involved so the natural smark reaction for most people in here is to shit on it.

          • Jimmy

I never understood the fans that hate on Miz. I’m pretty sure they just hate him because Punk hates him, but the fact of the matter is that Punk never even said he hated the Miz. He just hated the fact that Miz headlined WM. I’m sure Punk would have been angry if it was anyone else that year as well.

          • Xavier

Yeah pretty much. When Punk says something, most people take it has gospel. I never bought into all of that though, that’s one of the reasons why most people in here hate me I guess. I’ve always felt that Punk was always envious of other people’s success.

          • Jimmy

Honestly, and i’ll probably get hate for this comment… I am a fan of Punk and think he is incredible on mic, but I feel he is extremely far from being the best in the world, if you pay close attention to his matches he botches a fair bit and makes it very obvious that he is whispering to the opponent.

          • Xavier

Well I mean every wrestler has their faults. I just hate how everyone acts like he can walk on water. I think he’s great in the ring & on the mic. Just never been a fan of his attitude

          • Jesse Sherwood

They hate him because he is the nerd of WWE. He was ostracized from day one in WWE.

          • Xavier

You would think fans would respect him though, he made it too the top against all odds. he was never suppose to make it.

      • Jesse Sherwood

If by really well you mean a train wreck, then I agree.

        • Xavier

I said it was ok, not nearly as bad as everyone made it out too be. It just so happens that Miz was involved so the natural smark reaction for most people in here to do is to shit on it

          • Jesse Sherwood

Miz was the best part of the whole thing! He knew it was going to be bad when it started and pawned it off to Jerry!

      • Scottyo614

I mean it got the point of Eva Marie to the fans, but it was boring, rushed and lacked any personality. Many of the divas have a pretty face and 0 charisma

    • BillyMac

One of the bella’s had a nipple slip twice

      • BillyMac

        See ….

        • Jesse Sherwood

I’m surprised the Production guys didn’t catch it, as it was unblurred!

  • Jesse Sherwood

So, Richard posted this earlier on wrestlingnews.net but I thought I’d share it here as well. John Cena and Daniel Bryan faced off 10 years ago on Velocity. Look at how far they have come!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JdswBMO_Sig

    • Xavier

      I saw that, pretty interesting

  • Stephen Cash

The Wyatt’s attack the big show? Tag team handicap match at SS?

    • Jesse Sherwood

I hope so. Considering the have barely mentioned his tonight, I see it as a very real possibility!

      • Stephen Cash

I liked big show and Kane as a tag team, but if the add big show I hope they give up on Taker because that’s too much.

        • Jesse Sherwood

I doubt Taker will be on SS this year. He was looking pretty banged up in the matches he had on Raw and Smackdown.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

I hope we get to see Sister Abigail again tonight

  • mike

    loving the wyatt family

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Hey they acknowledged Fandango’s Birthday too! Cool

    • Jesse Sherwood

I wish they’d do it more often. It’s a nice gesture.

  • Jesse Sherwood

And they wished Fandango a happy birthday as well!

  • Scottyo614

I feel Fandangos character goes depending upon the city? Some love it, some are dead for it.

  • Alex

Did anyone else see the nip slip in the total divas segment.

    • Jesse Sherwood

Nope, but I will see if I can see it on second viewing.

      • Alex

It was the Bella on the right after Jerry got slapped.

        • Robbie

Just rewinded it and there was indeed a nipple slip by Brie

          • Jesse Sherwood

And it wasn’t caught by production. WWE is getting a huge fine!

          • Robbie

It focused on the nipple for a good while before it switched cameras

          • Jesse Sherwood

Kendra just raised a good point. This was on Cable and not Broadcast as well as it was unintentional. They may not get much of a fine.

          • thepowerserge

Not intentional, you say? Or was it? Either way, I agree with most people on here in that Brie is getting, or going to be getting, much more press as a result of the incident, rather than her pitiful work in the ring or on the “reality show.”

          • Scottyo614

Best thing I’ve seen from the Bella’s in years

        • Jimmy

I sense Cena & Bryan are raging

          • Jesse Sherwood

            It was Brie, so Bryan!

          • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Pics of it are up on Twitter.

          • Jimmy

Thank you, wasn’t sure who was with who lol

          • Stephen Cash

Wouldn’t Bryan and Cena both me raging, since they’re twins. If you’ve seen one you’ve seen the other.

          • Jesse Sherwood

Very true, but Bryan harder since it was his GF. Her tape failed!

    • Xaeius

      NSFW NSFW NSFW NSFW NSFW

Don’t know how many times I need to repeat that. But, it was Brie Bella, aka D-Bryan’s Twin that did the slipping. Extremely hard to miss…

Gold tights for Cody Rhodes, a nod to his brother?

    • Jesse Sherwood

I’d assume so, since he has borrowed from his brother’s move set so much.

      • David

Next week, maybe he’ll wear polka dots.

  • Stephen Cash

Any updates on if JoMo will ever come back?

  • Jimmy

I’m surprised we haven’t seen Orton as of yet

    • Stephen Cash

      He’ll come.

      • Wilo

        outta nowhere

        • Jesse Sherwood

          *Facepalm*

  • Stephen Cash

    RVD?

    • Jesse Sherwood

No sign of him tonight either.

      • Stephen Cash

Up next! Vs Orton? Hard to believe they don’t use Orton tonight. It would also be cool because Orton took him out before he left. But who would/should go over?

        • Stephen Cash

I bet Orton is Bryan’s last opponent in the gauntlet tonight…

          • Xavier

Could very well be. I wouldn’t be surprised though if Orton was held off TV for a few weeks though, to kind of make the viewers forget about him only to pop up at the end of Cena/Bryan for a cash in. That’s if that’s direction wwe creative is going in.

          • Jesse Sherwood

They have been playing up the “injury” on wwe.com, so I would expect him to be off TV until SS.

  • Xavier

    LOL @Rockpocolypse

    • Jesse Sherwood

It’s a very poor man’s Infinity Blade. I deleted after 3 stages, as the hit detection and screen controls sucked.

      • Xavier

        You had it?

        • Jesse Sherwood

Yep, I figured that free wasn’t a bad price. I was wrong. They should pay you to play it!

          • Xavier

            Lol

  • David

Why do they act like Paul Heyman was with CM Punk the entire time of his 434 day reign. CM Punk had been champion for over 200 days before Heyman joined him.

    • Scottyo614

      Its the character man

  • Jesse Sherwood

And the slow funeral of Barrett continues!

    • savokes

looks like hes got a bloody mouth to boot

      • Jesse Sherwood

Yep! Must have took a stiff kick from RVD.

    • Stephen Cash

I honestly don’t blame booking for his downfall. They gave him many opportunities, but a mix of terrible mic work, sloppy ring work, and terrible finishers were his problem.

      • Jesse Sherwood

I couldn’t say it better Stephen. Barrett looked so promising in NXT and the early days of Nexus. Now I barely see him as a midcarder.

        • Jimmy

I would love to see a NXT season 1 reunion in the Raw ring. Considering all of them except Michael Tarver are still there. How great would it be to see the progression of all of them since NXT in the ring at the same time.

  • Stephen Cash

    No rolling thunder?!

    • Jesse Sherwood

Barrett would probably have taken that with his face as well!

  • Jesse Sherwood

Show has yet to return, so I am betting he is the first opponent.

    • Robbie

      Hand over the cash

      • Jesse Sherwood

*Hands Robbie his 1 HL salary.*

        • Robbie

I bet Show will be his final opponent

          • Robbie

            *Hands back money*

          • Jesse Sherwood

Yay!!! Now I am 999,999 HL away from reincarnation dood!

    • Scottyo614

I’m going with last and a Wyatt family appearance

  • Stephen Cash

I feel like its inevitable that Bryan will beat Cena at SS and Randy will immediately cash in. I guess it’s karma for begging for Orton to turn heel… I’m fine with Orton cashing in on Bryan just let him hold the strap for a couple months first.

    • Xavier

Agreed, I think it’s going down that way as well. It re-establishes Orton a heel while gaining even more babyface sympathy for Bryan.

  • Xavier

I wouldn’t be surprised if Maddox made Cena the last guy in the gauntlet match to try and create distention between the two of them

  • Mr. V

*Sigh* … RVD is good but man the years are getting to him. Wanna see a great RVD match? Lesnar vs RVD for the IC title. Now there is a match where the title really looked like something worth fighting for.

    • Stephen Cash

      He’s still got it!

  • savokes

    *shock* swagger botches

    • Jesse Sherwood

Does he ever go a full match without one botch?

      • Robbie

Must have missed it, what did he botch?

        • savokes

looked like right at the beginning he was supposed to catch one of Dbry’s kicks to lift him up so Dbry could counter into a pin…he didn’t catch the initial kick and Dbry had to improvise and kick him again…it looked really sloppy

  • Xavier

This “We The People” crap is played out now. Started off with so much promise as well

    • thepowerserge

My problem with it is that, in all honesty, Swagger’s slogan should now and forever be, “Weed The People.” Then maybe, just maybe, he’d garner himself a different kind of following.

  • Jesse Sherwood

Huge OU Sucks chant against Swagger!

  • Stephen Cash

I don’t think big show will return tonight. Orton should be the final opponent.

    • Jesse Sherwood

They advertised it on SD and Youtube. I bet he is the final segment.

      • Stephen Cash

Crap. I was thinking it was around 10:55pm. You’re probably right.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Bryan vs Cesaro was always a match that I was calling for. I wanted it to be in the midst of a proper feud and not an impromptu match like this.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Cesaro is a beast in the ring. I can’t wait to see his 2 out of 3 falls match with Zayn on NXT in a few weeks

    • Jesse Sherwood

Same here! Cesaro deserves a push, but we are getting a pretty good number of new pushes out of MITB.

  • John

What’s with punk’s new Hugh Jackman wolverine look?

    • Jesse Sherwood

He’s doing it as another comic tribute. Works well for him too!

      • David

I would love if CM Punk would say “I’m the best there is at what I do, but what I do best isn’t very nice”

        • thepowerserge

How about Punk vs Jackman in a Best Facial Hair in the World match. No? Oh well, guess we can expect Vince Russo to book it wherever the hell he is these days, then.

  • Scottyo614

They pick the worst times for commercials

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

If these two were to feud. I admit I will be riveted. They are my 2 favorites guys in the WWE right now

  • Xavier

    Bryan/Cesaro have great chemistry

    • David

      Don’t all guys from ROH?

      • Xavier

        Yeah pretty much

  • Jesse Sherwood

The fans in attendance realize this is a treat!

  • Jesse Sherwood

    Cesaro’s uppercut flurry was sick!

    • Stephen Cash

      This guys a stud!

  • Xavier

Bryan/Cesaro will definitively be a feud once Bryan gets the strap

  • Jesse Sherwood

WWE needs to take a hint! Cesaro is a HUGE star waiting to be made!

  • Stephen Cash

Best finish I’ve seen in a long time!!!!

  • Danny_Boy

Bryan continues to bury the rest of the roster smdh.

  • savokes

    ridiculous finish

  • Jesse Sherwood

Wow! What a match! Will there be a third match?

    • Navin T. Ramkissoon

I think its gonna be Big Show

      • Xavier

        Forgot about him. Probably so

        • Stephen Cash

          Orton makes too much sense…

    • Xavier

I’m saying Maddox sends Cena out there too create distention between them

  • Stephen Cash

Orton picture in the back round. Well placed!

  • Alex

“More shame on you Bryan, you’re not ashamed of taking a handout. That’s what Cena gave you a handout. Tonight won’t be a handout, tonight you will be in the ring with a real American.”

    -Zeb Colter

Not hating on the character but where’s the logic? Bryan wouldn’t of agreed to the matches tonight if he was completely okay with taking a hand out….

  • mike

    big show vs daniel bryan

  • Robbie

    Alex Riley gets his bonus

    • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Riley makes his debut on commentary on NXT August 7th

      • Jesse Sherwood

And from what I have heard, he’s really good!

        • Robbie

Sounds like he’s going down the same route as Matt Striker. I really enjoyed Striker as a commentator. Especially with Todd Grisham

          • Jesse Sherwood

Same here. Striker’s analysis of the holds was some of the best I have heard since the territorial days.

  • Robbie

    Well we was all wrong…

  • savokes

    boooo

  • Xavier

    What a letdown

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Not this idiot. Come On !!!!!!

  • Jesse Sherwood

    Cryback? BOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • mike

    wheres big show

  • Stephen Cash

Disappointment of the decade… I somewhat like ryback if they fix his booking, but wow…

  • Jesse Sherwood

    Show destroys Ryback, turning face?

    • Robbie

      I can see that.

  • Xavier

Ryback went from being a potential #1 face in the company all the way to this. Ryback is the perfect example of horrible booking. And I usually blame the wrestler for not getting over and not bad booking

    • Scottyo614

Instead of keeping it simple, they went short sighted on the turn. Of course as a face he has to sit back and wait… Wrong place wrong time for Ryback

  • savokes

allllll of the energy they just had from that last match was just COMPLETELY sucked out of the arena

  • Stephen Cash

It is cool that these two are NXT guys! Look how far they’ve come!

  • Jesse Sherwood

Love the “You Can’t Wrestle” chant for Ryback!

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Those You can’t Wrestle Chants were not directed at Daniel, Mr.Reeves

  • savokes

Ryback doesn’t even get heat, he gets apathy…which is much worse

  • Michael

Ok Bryan is a machine either Cena or Big Show will save Bryan from Ryback.

  • Xavier

Sending Ryback out there after a great Bryan/Cesaro match has got to be some form of punishment. Creative had to have known he would get shitted on. I kind of feel bad for the dude, was promised a title match with Big Show at Mania and now he’s become a laughing stock

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

The thing with Ryback was that he was rushed too fast too soon. Creative needs to learn from this and don’t rush any young guys to the top too fast.

    • Jesse Sherwood

No, they need to learn if they do it, book the guy with confidence. Strap him or at least let him win a big match!

      • Navin T. Ramkissoon

I agree with you to a point there. Once the guys are talented by all means push them with full confidence. But if they have limited movesets like Ryback they should not be rushed because it can spectacularly back fire.

    • Xavier

Agreed, I feel bad for the dude honestly. I usually don’t blame bad booking for a wrestler tanking and blame the wrestler himself for not being able to stay over but in this case I pass most of the blame on Vince/Booking

    • Scottyo614

He worked up well really. He actually went through local jobbers and then moved up, but injuries and a great reaction forced that quick title rise. The heel turn was the death because there was no direction after Cena. Ryback had kids living him and feed me mores going big. There was big money to be made. I’m not blaming Cena, but it was wrong place wrong time, because he could have been huge

      • Xavier

WWE also booked RAW from the Rumble backwards because of The Rock being involved. That was another reason why Ryback never went over Punk.

        • Scottyo614

Absolutely right. That last half of the year because of the rock/punk royal rumble match left booking a mess. Things are really looking up this year I’d say.

  • Xavier

The Rise & Fall Ryback DVD is advertised for this fall date release

    • Jimmy

10% of the DVD will be his rise and 90% will be his fall lol

      • thepowerserge

I think you’re being way too generous. More like 1% rise, 99% fall.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Anybody has any idea when was the last time Daniel used Cattle Mutilation?

    • Jesse Sherwood

Triple Threat Submission match for the US Title.

  • Xavier

Those military guys in the front aren’t even paying attention to the match, they taking photos on they phone. Anyone else catch that?

    • Jesse Sherwood

Would you if Ryback was in the ring?

      • Xavier

        LOL, probably not.

  • Stephen Cash

I bet ryback was supposed to check Bryan a bomb him through the table…

  • Stephen Cash

Triple threat wwe title match. I hope not…

  • savokes

    no Big Show after all

  • Robbie

So Ryback vs. Cena in a Tables match and Kane to make his return against Daniel Bryan next week!

  • Kev

    WTF? No Wyatt Family????

  • Jesse Sherwood

Cena vs. Ryback in a Tables Match AND Daniel Bryan Vs. Kane! Next week is stacked!

  • @Funkatastic The Mike McCarthy

Was anyone else getting frustrated with the camera crew tonight?

  • savokes

was Dbry selling the injury, or do you think he really got a stinger from that hard powerbomb onto the floor?

  • Jesse Sherwood

I pretty disappointed that there was no Wyatt Family or Big Show, but the WWE Title storyline moved along very well. I just hope it doesn’t dominate Raw over the next 3 weeks.

  • Tim

So no Wyatt family and not big show. Even after you promoted him.

  • monty

DB proving to Vince and WWE upper Management he is more than Capable of carrying the Brand, i don’t think i have ever seen someone get as over as he has, maybe stone cold in his high days.

i think WWE has found its next Huge superstar who is still young and connects with Fans. Someone who could Challenge Cena for his top spot

I still believe the best thing to do is have DB win than Orton cash in, just imagine how over would DB be and how big of a Heel could Orton turn into, WWE needs to hire extra security if they want orton to cash in we maybe see Riots in LA

  • Jesse Sherwood

You know you left a huge impression if 30 minutes after the show ends you are still trending on twitter! #AgeOfBryan

    • Jesse Sherwood

It took 50 minutes after Raw ended for him to stop trending!
