In Ring Segment

Justin announces Ricardo who gets some heat from the fans, some serious heat from the fans, and he sucks it up. ADR comes out on foot, gray suit, white shirt open at the collar, black scarf showing his turn. Stills from ADR kicking Ziggler in the head, over and over, last night. In the ring ADR raises the belt and gets some pop, but then heat.

ADR – How was your weekend? Talking about a man of steel.
Ricardo – He is a bird, he is a plane, he is your new WHC, ADR...
ADR – Some of you are saying the way I won was controversial. The night after WrestleMania was controversial. I was injured, my leg almost broken. In that pain I gave him a fight, but you people cheered for him. Cheered for a coward who attacked an injured man. I should be surprised or offended, but I'm not. I heard the reaction last night and every other night.

"We want Ziggler!"

ADR – I gave you everything, and you never showed the respect I deserve. I fought Swagger, a pig who disrespect the Mexican people and culture. But all I heard was "USA!"

ADR – You don't cheer for ADR, but you cheer for a pig and a coward. That's what America is all about, pigs and cowards! I fought for you for the past 5 months and got nothing. Last night I fought for ADR and I got this! I'm gonna be the better man. I'm gonna show you why I am the best. People, I will give you a second chance. A second opportunity to show me the respect I deserve.

ADR – You don't get it, I...

Punk's music cuts him off and the fans go wild! Punk to the ring with Heyman in tow.

Punk – Ricardo, how you doin'? ADR. Seems like it's been a while. Last time we were in the ring and you had that, it was Survivor Series 2011 and I held it for (checks with Heyman) 434 days. I can tell by you reaction that you remember that night well. That's not why I'm out here. I'm out here because I heard you say you were the best.

"CM Punk!"

Punk – There's only one best in the world, and you're looking at him. I'm out here to challenge you.

Heyman – ADR, before you answer that, my clients don't fight for free.

Punk – Paul, Paul, Paul.

Heyman – Last night you had an epic battle with Ziggler. And I appreciate all that you are, the new...

Punk – Paul, Paul, Paul. What are you doing?

Heyman – We didn't talk about this, and you are banged up from last night, the Title wouldn't even be on the line.

Punk – I know the Title wouldn't be on the line. I know Ziggler damn well deserves a rematch, and I'm banged up, because when this guy was stealing a Title from Ziggler, I was stealing the show with Jericho! I'm glad you think you're the best, everyone should, but I proved it last night, and want to do it again tonight, against you!

ADR – Punk, you don't want to do this. You don't want this.

Punk – Yes, yes I do. You and me in a match, tonight.

ADR – Punk, I am the WHC. Like I said, you don't want me.

Punk – I had a feeling you were going to say that. (To Ricardo) How about you? You got your tights on under there? Want to fight? Somebody's going to fight me tonight!

EXCUSE ME!! EXCUSE ME!! EXCUSE ME!! ADR, you don't get to make that decision, I do. As great as Payback was last night, I want to carry the momentum, and I think the main event should be ADR versus Punk!

Backstage Segment

Vickie – They were on fire, what did you think? (to Trip) Punk versus ADR was genius on my part!
Trip – It was good thinking on your feet. But if Punk hadn't wandered out there, what was the main event going to be?
Vickie – But I brought back Christian!
Trip – That was great as well, but he's been medically cleared for a month and half, why so long. And what about RVD?
Maddox – That was my idea.
Vickie – That was my idea.
Trip – It's funny because when I was making the video with RVD, on the phone, you weren't on the phone with us. But I want to talk about The Shield. They've been running roughshod. I need you to take control. If they get involved in any way, I need you to make an example, you need to take control. I don't care how strong you need to be, I need you to make an example out of them.
Vickie – Okay, sir, I will do that. You can count on me.
Trip – Awesome job. (Trip leaves, then returns.) Especially putting 3MB in the show tonight. Stroke of genius.
Maddox – Thanks!

Backstage Segment

Bryan is warming up, Kane comes in.
Kane – Daniel, can we talk?
Bryan – I'm a little busy right now. If you came here to say, 'I told you so' I don't want to hear it right now.
Kane – Who said anything about 'I told you so?'
Bryan – It's written all over your face, you're glad Team RKNO didn't win the TTC! To you it proves I'm the weak link. I'll prove you wrong when I heat Orton tonight.
Kane – I'm not glad of anything. You're not the only one who lost last night. Maybe our losses was proof that we should give Team Hell No another shot.
Bryan – "NO!" You don't get it, do you Kane? I won't be able prove anything as a team. Right now I'm only worried about me, Team DB!
Kane – That makes sense, because you're acting like a DB!
Bryan – The only way I'm ever going to prove myself as by myself. I need to win the WWE Championship.
Kane – I was thinking the same thing, I want to win the WWE Championship. So, is this it? Are we done?
Bryan – I don't know.
Kane – I don't know either. Good luck tonight. (very sweet and honestly)
Bryan – Are you saying good luck because you think I'm the weak link?

In Ring Segment

AJ's music and she comes skipping out, Divas Title over her shoulder, Big E in tow. AJ skips around the ring. Video of Kaitlyn's loss and breakdown, then Layla out to hug Kaitlyn.
AJ – So this is what it feels like to have it all. Unfortunately Ziggy couldn't be here because he isn't cleared, but he will be back to share it with the best Divas Champ of all time – me! I've always been Champ, now I have proof. Last night I made Kaitlyn tap out. Did I play mind games? Yes. Did a crush her spirit? Yes. But I am the hero of this story. I am a woman who knows how to get exactly what she wants, and that is an example to women everywhere. There's not a woman in this audience, that locker room, the whole world who is as strong, brilliant, courageous, as I am! (AJ with that coy look) If there's a woman back there who thinks you can compare to me, who is a fraction, I dare you to come out right now. That's what I thought!

Steph's music and out she comes in a gray suit with a white cami. Steph into the ring.

AJ (all smiles) – Hi! Hi Bosslady! Are you here to congratulate me, one Champ to another?
Steph – You know AJ there's an entire line of Divas who want to come out here, but I asked if I could come out and say my peace first. You're a true underdog, riling everyone up, have everyone buzzing. You're a great story, and for that, I do say congratulations.
AJ (all smiles) – Thank you, thank you Steph, I knew you would understand!
Steph – I do, I understand, but what I don't understand is why you perpetuate this stereotype about women, that we're vicious, conniving, manipulative, and would rather tear each other down than build each other up. What you did to Kaitlyn was degrading to women everywhere. (A small "We want puppies!"chant) It's time, AJ, that you start acting like a Champ.
AJ – You know Steph, you're right. I should be thinking more like you. I should be acting more like you. Instead of dating Superstars, maybe I should marry one. (AJ smirks up at Steph) Let's not get started on your Daddy issues, that's a whole other can of worms.
Steph – AJ, somebody put it before that you're brilliant. If you were so brilliant, I'd expect something a little more original.
AJ – I am original. What I did to Kaitlyn was original. That was cunning, well planned, well executed, months in the making, that was my masterpiece!
Steph – AJ, you want to give me those crazy eyes? (Steph leaning down over AJ) You forget who you're talking to? I'm a McMahon! Nobody does crazy better than us. You want to be a Divas Champ, I suggest you start acting like one.
AJ – I am, I am the Divas Champ Steph. The reason you're out here isn't because you're disappointed in me, it's because I am you! Only younger. I don't have a fancy pantsuit either.
Steph – (not directly into the mic, but picked up well because Steph's husky voice carries so well) AJ, you are the Divas Champ, but please remember that I can take all of that away from you. If I want to, you won't have a job anymore. (into the mic with wide eyes) You were saying?

Kaitlyn leads Fox, Natalya, Layla, Naomi and Cameron out to the stage.

Kaitlyn – Congratulations AJ, you did it. You won.
Steph (pulls Kaitlyn's mic over to her own mouth) – Listen Kaitlyn, I'm going to give you a buy because of what you've been through the past couple weeks, but do not ever interrupt me again. And that goes for all of you. (to the rest of the Divas on the stage – Steph walks through them and out – they all look nervous)
Kaitlyn (walking to the ring) – You won. You won the Divas Championship. ("You tapped out!") You won. You got inside my head. You manipulated me. Humiliated me. Played me like a puppet. You broke me. And now it's my turn.

Kaitlyn into the ring and dives at AJ. The belt goes flying through the air into the ropes as Kaitlyn spears AJ. Kaitlyn all over AJ, but nothing really happens. Big E pulls AJ out of the ring. Kaitlyn's right boob falls out. Big E grabs AJ as she dives at the ring. The screen goes black as Kaitlyn tucks her right boob back in. AJ is yelling over Big E's shoulder as he carries her up the ramp. She's wild, yelling about how Kaitlyn will never have the Divas Title.

Vickie (A finger up in Ambrose's face) – You're...
McMahon (in purple) – Awesome match! (Handshakes for all of them)
Ambrose – Thank you sir!
McMahon – We're talking ruthless aggression here. Way to go. Keep it up. Have a good night. (The Shield leaves smiling) They really impress me. I really like them. I never really liked that Halloween mask wearing freak. You look good tonight Vickie. Brad. (McMahon leaves Vickie and Maddox confused and worried.)

Another great Wyatt Family video.

Stage Segment

Zeb – My fellow Americans. Open your eyes. I'm speaking form within a country under siege. Our country is spying on us. Lying to us. Foreigners sneaking across our borders. We're at war. That will form strange alliances. That's why Swagger and I have chosen to work alongside a man with honor, integrity and respect. That man, while not born in the USA, embodies the spirit we try to reach daily. He speaks five languages, the most important English.

RVD promo.

In Ring Segment

Cena out and says, "One day away from Tuesday," on stage before saluting and heading for the ring. Still from Payback. The fans are wild for Cena! Some heat, but a lot of pop.

Cena – Honestly, I love this. Look around, and listen. I love this! All of us here tonight because we love the WWE. Sure there's folks out there who have their favorite Superstars. My favorite Superstars – right out there. I admire your honesty. Like the guy in the Punk shirt that thinks I suck. There's a group out there who just doesn't like me. I appreciate that. Then there's a group who know that when I step in the ring, I go to war for them. I'm speaking tonight to them. (heat) I had a horrible 2012. I constantly had to come out and sometimes beg you to hang in there. After each disappointment I had to ask, and you did. Moments like Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Punk, Ryback, walking into Payback and walking out the better man. I proudly stand before you and say, the Champ is here! (Title belt high) Skeptics and critics will be there, but to those who hung in there, I say thank you! Tonight is not the night I ask you to hang in there, tonight is the night I tell you I feel as good as I've ever felt, and a can take any challenge anyone can put in front of me! (pop) Whether you like me or you don't, all our eyes are focused at MITB, because then I will know where my next challenge comes from. For the man who hangs onto that contract, there will be no good time to cash in on me. If I look down and out, think again. I will always be ready! I know I will not have this forever, but I promise you the next person to hold it earns it. Because our time is now, and the Champ is here!

Henry comes out, boots in hand, puts them on the stage, then heads to the ring in that glaring jacket. Henry on the apron, shakes his head, then gets into the ring.

Henry – You can put your guard down.

The fans cheer and Henry holds the mic up high in a show of love. Cena start to leave, but Henry stops him.

Henry – John, I want you to stay. There's something I want to tell you, the boys and girls in the back, and all ya'll.

Henry – I respect everybody who loves this business. (You can hear the tears in Henry's voice.) I respect all the people that work here because I know how difficult it is. (Henry wipes the tears) I was a seasoned vet in 2002 when this man came in.

"Thank you Henry!"

Henry – He's doing an awesome job!

"Thank you Henry!"

Henry (wiping more tears – I was thinking if you didn't remember me, you'd at least remember this coat. (smile)

"Sexual Chocolate!"

Henry – You all going to have me out here crying all night. John, the rate you're going, you're going to be the greatest WWE Champion of all time. (Cena leaning on the top rope nods his appreciation solemnly) If I had any regrets about my career, I been WHC, ECW Champion, Strongest Man In The World. I've had a lot of success. Not like the success John had, but I think I done pretty good for myself.

Henry – Thank you. (wipes his eyes) Which leads me to the reason I'm out here to formally retire from the active roster of the WWE.

"One more match!"

Henry (shakes his head) – Thank you all. One of the better crowds I've been in front of in the past five years.

Suddenly the WWE Championship is in Henry's hands and he's mush. Cena claps for Henry as JBL says it's the one Title Henry didn't win. Henry holds it high as they cheer for him.

Henry – A small town Silsbee, Texas boy done proud! (pop) Also, John, I'm gonna give this back, this is something you gotta earn. (Cena nods as he takes it) I got to travel the world, twice three, times, quadruple times over. Don't cry for me Argentina, I'm doing enough crying for everybody. But I stand before you a proud, proud man. (big pop) I'm on the road close to 200 nights a year. To my beautiful wife Jana, I think you'll be seeing more of me than you will want to. To my son Jacob who is a fanatical wrestling fan, you may have seen him on Twitter, and my little girl Joanna... (to a couple of chanting fans) Ah, I'm not Mae Young, dummy. To my little girl Joanna who cries when I leave home... (Henry really breaks down) Baby, I'm coming home.

Cena in, puts the belt between him and raises his hand, back to camera. Cena drops the belt and leans in for a hug, but Henry grabs him and hits a WSS! Off comes the jacket. Off comes the tie, ripping the shirt in the process.

Henry – You think it's that easy? I got a lot left in the tank!

"You still got it!" chants as Henry drops the belt on Cena.

Cole says Bryan was up in Trip's face about the match being stopped. It was only a stinger. ADR up top, flies, but takes a blow to the gut as he lands. Back kick to ADR, then a mule kick to ADR's face. Knees to ADR's gut, but ADR back on that left arm. Punk on the apron struggling, so ADR gets him sitting in the ropes and taking blows to the back, then the back stabber for two.

Punk down, ADR stalking him, waiting, goes for his enziguri, but rolled up for two. Enziguri to Punk for two and ADR is frustrated. ADR calls for the 'si', but gets nothing. ADR set up, but Punk reverses and hits his running knee in the corner. Punk hits a sloppy GTS, but ADR rolls out. Ricardo and ADR leave and ADR is counted out.

Winner – Punk via Count Out (9:35)

ADR and Ricardo backing up the ramp, but Ziggler is there attacking ADR. The refs get Ziggler off him, but Ziggler jumps ADR again. Ziggler all over ADR. ADR flees with Ziggler running after him as the announcers talk about how Ziggler isn't even cleared to be there.

The ref raises Punk's hand as the winner, then Brock's music hits. Brock comes out poses, walks around the ring, stares at Punk and smiles. Brock into the ring, mic in hand. Brock right up to Punk who stares back. Brock smirks at Punk, slowly raises the mic to his mouth, but then drops it, grabs Punk and hits the F5. Punk lays on the mat in a heap as Brock smiles down at him, then leaves the ring.

Video recap of the F5. Brock stands on the bottom of the ramp watching Punk who is face down, his nose smooshed on the mat, looking like he might want to giggle, but playing that he's out cold.

Welcome to this week’s Raw Watch Party! I’m your co-host Jesse Sherwood, and we are in for an intense night with the fallout from Payback! Let’s Break it Down!

    1. John Cena retained his title last night in 3 Stages of Hell! Who will step up to face him for the WWE Title now?

    2. CM Punk is back with a victory last night over Y2J! What will be next for the Straight Edge Superstar?

    3. Mark Henry is set to return tonight, but has been teasing retirement on Twitter? Is the World’s Strongest Man hanging up the boots?

    4. Ziggler was apparently not as fit to compete as some thought, as post concussion symptoms cost him the WHC to ADR. What will we see from the new champion, as well as the former one?

    5. Curtis Axel won the IC Title last night! Is this the beginning of a new era for the title?

    6. AJ Lee is our new Divas Champion and she fully broke Kaitlyn in the process! What’s next for the Black Widow?

    7. The Shield walked out of Payback with their gold intact! Who will try to stop the Hounds of Justice now?

    8. RVD was announced to be returning at MITB! Will we hear from him tonight?

All of this and more can be expected! What are you looking forward to?

    • Avalanchian 17 June, 2013 at 20:01 Reply

I posted earlier thinking that since Ziggler lost his title that maybe AJ and Big E split because AJ doesn’t care for a loser for no belt or…. Ziggler starts to become jealous he doesn’t have a title. Might make up for a Ziggler vs Big E bout later down the road.

  2. Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 19:55 Reply

I’m personally calling RVD to show up tonight, as Raw is in Grand Rapids, MI. Not too far from RVD’s home of Battle Creek!

  3. The Breaker 17 June, 2013 at 19:59 Reply

WWE gave us a lot of questions following last night’s PPV.. hoping to see some direction tonight following those developments!

    • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 20:01 Reply

Same here Breaker. Just hope that WWE is careful on how they tread with Ziggler. It nearly destroyed me to watch that match last night.

      • The Breaker 17 June, 2013 at 20:03 Reply

They really played him up as a sympathetic figure.. I hate that he dropped the title so soon, but it may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

  4. #ChristianRiles 17 June, 2013 at 20:01 Reply

Christian returns takes out the shiel by himself setting up a Fued with one of them and then he is face

  5. The Breaker 17 June, 2013 at 20:05 Reply

ADR is back to being a full-on heel again! This is SO reminiscent of how he was months and months ago! And I don’t really mean that as a good thing. But let’s give it a chance….

But I do like how they’re letting the crowd reactions change the characters. It’s actually pretty awesome.

  6. Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 20:10 Reply

**** Yeah! I knew it was going down as soon as he said “the best”, but I admit I have never been so happy to see Punk!

  7. The Breaker 17 June, 2013 at 20:14 Reply

I don’t like that Ricardo just went back to being heel with ADR. He would’ve gotten a good amount of heat if he turned on Ricardo instead.

  8. Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 20:17 Reply

There we go! This is becoming a stacked night for wrestling! Axel vs. Barrett for the IC Title, Bryan vs. Orton, AND Punk vs. ADR! Let’s just hope the segments hold up too.

  9. The Breaker 17 June, 2013 at 20:19 Reply

Punk turning face again kind of worries me.. but I am interested to see what culminates from the disagreements between him and Heyman.

  10. Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 20:21 Reply

And there is the Break! Anyone else think RVD will come in as a heel and set up a match between him and Punk at SummerSlam?

    • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 20:29 Reply

Barrett has really dropped in status since the 1st of the year. His work is middle of the road at best, and his mic work has been painful.

  11. Not John Cena 17 June, 2013 at 20:31 Reply

I’m pretty sure these aren’t “live results” been a half hour and i’ve only read the first segment

  12. Scott 17 June, 2013 at 20:42 Reply

So stoked RVD is coming back! I wouldnt mind seeing another feud with Cena (remember the f*ck you Cena chants at One Night Stand) and see him feud with Daniel Bryan and Punk!

    • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 20:44 Reply

I have this gut feeling Punk vs. RVD is happening at SummerSlam. But I can’t wait for RVD vs. Bryan!

    • Navin T. Ramkissoon 17 June, 2013 at 20:52 Reply

I might have been inclined to go that way if Cena vs Ryback’s 3 stages did not happen last night, but since is the WWE and their precious app I think it will be no DQ

  13. cobra 17 June, 2013 at 21:00 Reply

The announce team just said Randy Orton has been a loner most of his career. So Evolution, Rated RKO and Legacy must have never happened then?

    • BlazeKing 17 June, 2013 at 21:19 Reply

Rated RKO and Legacy didn’t last that long. Evolution was the group that stayed around longer. Even then, he has been a singles wrestler for over 5 years now. WWE is right about that one. they didn’t say he’s been a loner *all* of his career; just most of it.

  14. Michael 17 June, 2013 at 21:01 Reply

First rvd now Christian who’s next to return and this Daniel Bryan Orton match should steal the show tonight and if what Bryan said happens he’ll be facing cena for the wwe title real soon.

    • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 21:04 Reply

Kane also said that he wanted to challenge for the WWE Title too. WWE did leave themselves open there.

  15. Michael 17 June, 2013 at 21:04 Reply

So to recap Punk is face again Alberto is heel again, Christan is back. Rvd is returning Ziggler may be face now Orton might turn heel and a Bryan/cena feud may be in the works wwe writers are finally getting it.

Kendra, keep calling it the Unprettier please.

Calling it the Killswitch sounds wanky like the Attitude Adjustment to the FU.

And Devil’s Gate to the Gogoplata.

Any other wanky names for moves?

    • Kendra Bunyon 17 June, 2013 at 21:18 Reply

Thanks! I loathed the unprettier, until it was the killswitch. As long as I don’t get called an idiot for not knowing what I’m writing about, I will keep up with it!

      • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 21:34 Reply

It’s well past time. But at least it is finally happening! I just hope that they don’t drop the ball like they did with the Tag team revamp.

  17. Tim 17 June, 2013 at 21:36 Reply

I’m guessing since triple h feels the need to comeback over and over Stephanie now feels that need. Vince is the only interesting and fun McMahon. Shane isn’t bad tho.

    • -|AZ|- 18 June, 2013 at 00:44 Reply

      YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!

Christian returning, Punk going face, Henry getting a WWE C’ship shot and many other events point to only one thing: This RAW is brought to you by the IWC!!!

I hope Cesaro is booked strongly from here on in. I am a huge fan and its a shame how he is being booked so poorly

    • #YayChristiansBack 17 June, 2013 at 22:09 Reply

i sure hope so he has some incredible talent i can see him fueding with sheamus or orton that would be great story line have cesaro say how good and big and powerful aka orton comes out as the apex predator and about how many legends he has beat should make a great story line

    • Tim 18 June, 2013 at 01:03 Reply

I wanted Cesaro to team up with zeb. So that’s awesome. Maybe Cesaro could borrow zebs shirt from his Dutch mantel days. The yes, you may worship me shirt.

  19. josh 17 June, 2013 at 22:03 Reply

Michael Cole literally ruined that last segment. He laughed almost the whole time…like seriously? Cesaro and Coulter might work if everyone not just JBL tried putting him over.

    • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 22:23 Reply

Tonight’s show almost seems like WWE fired the entire Creative staff and brought in a fresh one!

  20. Cubed56 17 June, 2013 at 22:23 Reply

Is there possible plans for Slater or am I missing something. I find it odd that Jericho would work him for no reason.

  21. Michael 17 June, 2013 at 22:25 Reply

Could this raw get any more awesome first punk turns face and is booked to face Alberto. Than Christian returns. We get the rvd video package. Then Henry takes cena down I hope they allow Henry to become the first African American wwe champion. What a raw the only thing wrong is if Daniel was really hurt oh and Jericho is here.

    • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 22:27 Reply

We are going as if it is legit at this time, since Orton broke character and the ending looked off. Monitor WNW for the latest updates.

      • Mr.V 17 June, 2013 at 22:32 Reply

They have been doing injury angles lately and it looked like the dive was planned short.
So it didn’t look like thats where he was injured if he truly was

it was probably a working while injured angle … like, Bryan wouldn’t quit

        • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 22:33 Reply

I thought the same, but Orton never breaks character. It just felt off to me, as well as Kendra.

  22. Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 22:32 Reply

This is the 3rd time in 4 weeks Axel has faced Sin Cara. Can we please get some other jobber out there?

  23. Cubed56 17 June, 2013 at 22:44 Reply

Wow, absolutely no reaction for del rio, you can’t even hear some boos, he truly is not a main event draw or talent.

    • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 22:45 Reply

The flip-flop of his character, not to mention the method they turned him last night, has destroyed any chance at him having fans care about him.

        • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 22:50 Reply

They tried to get behind him turning his face turn, but it was never really at a great level. His initial heel run against Rey Mysterio garnered a decent reaction too.

          • Cubed56 17 June, 2013 at 22:53

I will agree with that, he just lacks that “it” factor to keep the fans interest.

          • Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 22:56

His ring work is solid, if methodical, but he has never cut a promo where I believe what he is saying. He feels very plastic on the mic.

          • Cubed56 17 June, 2013 at 23:01

His mic work is below average, and I feel his in ring is average, he’s had his fair share of botches.

          • H.M. 18 June, 2013 at 03:12

Your take on Del Rio is spot on I’ll say. I had some little hope for him when he came out to save Ricardo and turned face. I thought that this was a refreshing twist for his character and the boost he needed. We all know that the face turn ultimately ended up failing massively. The fans have never passionately been invested in Del Rio. The most he can ever garner are some generic boos from the kids in audience. He’s basically at the same level as Jack Swagger as far as character goes; though I’ll admit that his facials are spot on. The character behind it all is just ‘blah’ and has always been so. While I like the double turn, I hope that Ziggler gains back the title and gets the chance to move on to better things; preferably a feud with a heel Orton.

  24. Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 22:59 Reply

Good! Bryan just had a stinger, which means it was most likely a storyline. WWE has shown that they can fool us still!

  25. Navin T. Ramkissoon 17 June, 2013 at 23:04 Reply

I called this earlier tonight I said once Punk dropped Heyman it would be a set up to Punk vs Lesnar

      • Cubed56 17 June, 2013 at 23:10 Reply

Yea true, but you never know, I wouldn’t mind punk staying heel, I think he’s better that way anyways.

        • Xavier 18 June, 2013 at 00:32 Reply

I hear what your saying, but Brock has never been a good face. He’s just not sympathetic enough. And with him being so much larger then Punk it’s only natural that fans would tend to side with Punk. Lesnar is too good as the monster heel to turn him face anyway IMHO

  26. Michael 17 June, 2013 at 23:15 Reply

Best Raw of the year bar none wow what a night filled with surprises. First Punk comes out and turns face by challenging ADR. Than Christian finally returns with a great match against Wade. They run the RVD video awesome stuff. Punk and Heyman split. Henry plays everybody and finally gets a wwe title shot hopefully he wins. Jericho was in action. Antonio looks like he’s about to get a push with Zeb. Ziggler comes out and turns face by beating down ADR. Than the second biggest surprise of the night after Christian Brock returns and takes out Punk to set up what I think will be a match at SummerSlam. Wow is all I can say about this Raw awesome the writers have finally done something that nobody can complain about that was a very strong show no matter what the ratings may say I loved each and every moment of the show except for the Bryan/Orton match.

  27. Jesse Sherwood 17 June, 2013 at 23:20 Reply

This is the single best Raw from a Creative standpoint that WWE has delivered in a few years. I am looking forward to Smackdown more than ever now!

  28. Bob Cavicchioli 18 June, 2013 at 00:46 Reply

This may have been the best RAW in years… The past two days rivals any two-day period in WWE history as far as I’m concerned.
    And I almost didn’t get Payback…

I Knew it was a step up/fake, with 3 reasons.#1, when I saw the Prime Time
Players, fake crying, I started to get question the whole thing. #2 when he came
out and placed his boots on the entrance stage, I knew he was going to do a
promo, when a wrester retires, he boots his boots in the ring. #3 when he asked
John Cena to stay, that’s when I knew 100% it would be fake, I mean come on, we
have seen so many people retire, they want the spot light on them only, why
would he want Cena to stay, and he even stayed through the whole thing that made
it to much of a skit for me.
