WWE RAW Results - 12/17/07

WWE RAW Opener:


We start off tonight’s show with a look back at last week’s Raw Fifteenth Anniversary show. Vince says that he likes confrontation and he was confronted after announcing himself the biggest star in the Raw era.

Santa's Little Helper Match
Referee: John Kone
Layla, Melina, Jillian Hall and Victoria vs. Mickie James, Maria, Kelly Kelly and Michelle McCool


Before our first match starts, Jillian wants to perform a song from her open and she sings about her chestnuts.

The start:

Jillian and Maria start things off and Maria with a waist lock but Jillian with a snap mare. Maria avoid Jillian and gets a near fall. Kelly is tagged in and she throws Jillian to the mat and almost gets a cover. Jillian pulls Kelly’s hair and Layla tags in and Jillian and Layla with a double clothesline to Kelly for a two count. Layla misses a charge into the corner and Kelly gets a near fall with a sunset flip. Michelle tags in and she chops Layla. Melina tags in and Michelle with a hip toss and neck breaker. Melina with a punch to the midsection after Victoria attacks her from the apron.

The Finish:

Melina puts Michelle in the tree of woe and then Victoria tags in and Melina hits a splash into the corner. Victoria misses a moonsault and Michelle tries to make the tag but she is able to do so after an enzuigiri. Mickie with a Louise Thesz Press and punches to Victoria. Mickie with a rana to Victoria followed by a neck breaker for a two count. Mickie with a kick and then she hits a DDT for the three count.

Winners - Mickie James, Michelle McCool, Maria and Kelly Kelly

The Aftermath:


After the match it is an eight woman catfight and then Mickie, Maria, Michelle, and Kelly Irish whip their opponents into each other.

In the arena:

Vince McMahon wanders into the arena and comes to the ring as the women leave. Vince says that he was supposed to celebrate his greatest creations, the fifteenth anniversary of Raw. Instead he was beaten up and humiliated. Vince says that as he was in beer, everyone celebrated in the ring. Vince does not know how anyone can celebrate and enjoy Vince’s anguish. He says that he is not an animal or a monster. He says that his feelings have been hurt and he says that his heart has been broken. Vince says that he is a human being. Jeff Hardy’s music plays and he comes to the ring to stand face to face with Vince. Jeff takes the mic and he tells Vince to be quiet. Jeff tells Vince that next week everyone is going to Iraq. Jeff says that when Saddam was overthrown, they celebrated. Saddam was a ruthless control freak. Saddam was a ruler for life while Vince made himself the greatest star of Raw. Jeff says that Vince does not give us a reason to like him. Vince backs into the corner and starts to cry. We go to commercial. We are back and a referee and William Regal are trying to coax Vince out of his corner. Vince’s rest is probably not going to last long since the other half of Team BFF 2007, Triple H comes to the ring. Hunter takes the mic and he tells Liberace to handle this. Hunter says that he is the closest thing that Vince has to family. Hunter checks to see if anyone is home inside Vince’s head. Hunter says that Vince can’t see him. Hunter tells everyone to mark the time because Vince McMahon has officially flipped. Hunter tells Vince to leave the ring. Hunter sits down next to Vince and he says that he will be the bigger man. Hunter says that he is sorry. He says that he is sorry that he ruined the family portrait, kissed his daughter, brought out a bunch of fat women who he claimed Vince had sex with, and then poured beer on Vince’s body with his bastard son. William Regal interrupts Hunter after Hunter suggests that they are going to cancel the show. Regal wants Hunter to leave Vince with a modicum of respect or he will...Triple H stands up and then Regal says that he will get security to throw him out of the building. Regal wants to know if Vince wants that to happen. Regal tries to help Vince up and Vince finally makes it to his feet. Regal helps Vince into the center of the ring and Vince takes the mic. Vince starts to channel the Great Khali. Vince tells Regal to get Coach. Regal wants to know if he should get security and Vince says no. Vince says that Regal and Coach are going to wrestle Hunter. Vince says that he hopes something bad happens tonight to everyone. We go to commercial.

Handicap Match
Referee: Marty Elias
Triple H vs. William Regal and The Coach

The start:


Coach and Regal try to corner Hunter but Hunter punches Coach and Regal. Hunter with a high knee to Regal and Regal goes out to the floor. Hunter slams Regal’s head into the announce table and then he punches Regal some more. Hunter punches Coachman but Regal sends Hunter into the steps and ringpost. Regal with a kick to Hunter’s head against the ring post. Regal with a series of punches in the corner. Regal holds Hunter for Coachman and then Regal with a knee to the head. Regal with a left hand to Hunter and then he Irish whips Hunter but he charges into a boot. Hunter punches Coach and Regal.

The Finish:

Hunter with a facebuster to Regal and then he slams Coach’s head into the corner. Regal goes into his jacket and he gets brass knuckles but Hunter with a spinebuster to Regal before Regal can use the foreign object. Coach grabs the brass knuckles and he sees Hunter in front of him before he can use them. Coach begs for mercy and hands them to Hunter. Hunter hits Coach in the top of the head with the brass knuckles and then he hits a Pedigree for the three count.

Winner - Triple H

Last Night:


Jim Ross talks about the WWE Title Match from Armageddon and we see photos of the match as we see photos of Bradshaw get pushed by photos of Jericho. We see Jericho almost get Orton to tap, only to be kicked in the head by Bradshaw. We go to commercial.

World Tag Team Championship Match
Referee: Chad Patton
Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch vs. Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly (c)

The start:


Cade goes after Rhodes and connects with forearms. Murdoch tags in but Rhodes with forearms. Murdoch with a forearm to the back. Rhodes gets out of a belly-to-back and Holly is tagged in. Holly with punches to Murdoch followed by a clothesline and chops. Murdoch with a kick to Holly. Rhodes distracts the referee, allowing Cade to stop an Alabama Slam attempt. Murdoch with a running boot to Holly but Holly kicks out at two. Cade with elbow drops for a near fall.

The Finish:

Murdoch tags in and Cade gets Murdoch up for an assisted leg drop. Holly hits a standing drop kick on Murdoch. Cade and Rhodes are tagged in and Rhodes with punches and an Irish whip followed by a clothesline. Rhodes with a bulldog for a near fall but Murdoch breaks it up. Holly and Murdoch fight outside the ring. Cade misses a clothesline but Rhodes does not miss with a DDT for the three count.

Winners and still World Tag Team Champions, Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly

In the arena:


Before the next match, Ric Flair gets on the mic and he says that Vince McMahon does not want to see Flair get hurt on his watch. Flair says that he has been in this business for thirty-five years and he loves everyone and he loves being THE NATURE BOY. He says that he has sacrificed a lot in his career and walking away is not an option. His entire family has dealt with his sacrifices. Flair mentions Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, and Arn Anderson. Flair talks about his friends on the current roster. He says that he cherishes those friendships and he will cherish them forever. Flair says that he has to be Ric Flair. There is a locker room of guys half his age who believe in him. Flair says that he is not ready to go on that new journey yet. Flair says that when he walks down the ramp he will give the best effort. Whoever it is, he wants them to bring their best shot forward. Flair says that he wants to be at his best when he finally loses. Flair says that he will not get beaten without giving the fight of his life. Flair says that if he loses tonight, he thanks the fans.

Career Threatening Match For Ric Flair
Referee: Marty Elias
Ric Flair vs. Umaga

The start:


Umaga pushes Flair into the ropes and then Flair struts around Umaga. Flair with chops to Umaga followed by punches and more chops. Umaga throws Flair down to the mat and then Flair is sent into the turnbuckles. Umaga with a foot to Flair’s chest. Umaga with a head butt and Flair goes down to his knees. Umaga with a kick to Flair’s head. Umaga with a boot to Flair followed by a splash for a near fall. Umaga with a nerve hold on Flair. Umaga with an elbow to Flair and Flair goes down. Umaga with a foot to the chest.

Mid-match notes:

Umaga with an Irish whip but he charges into an elbow. Umaga with a clothesline to Flair but he misses a diving head butt. Flair with chops and punches but Umaga with a Samoan Drop for a near fall but Flair gets to the ropes. Umaga with a belly-to-belly suplex for a two count. Umaga with a seated splash with help from the ropes onto Flair’s chest. Umaga returns to the nerve hold. Umaga with chops and punches to Flair in the corner. Umaga with a head butt as he methodically wears down Flair. Umaga goes to the second turnbuckle but he misses a diving head butt when Flair rolls out of the way.

The Finish:

Flair with chops to Umaga’s chest but Umaga pushes Flair off the ropes and Flair with a clip to the back of the leg. Flair is able to get Umaga down but Umaga fights off Flair. Umaga with an uppercut and Flair goes to the floor. Umaga sends Flair head first into the ring post. Umaga sets for the running butt splash against the ringside barrier but Flair moves out of the way and he goes through the ringside barrier. Flair crawls into the ring right before the ten count and Umaga is counted out.

Winner by countout, Ric Flair

The Aftermath:


After the match, Flair gets on the mic and lets out a WOOOO for the fans of Buffalo.

Backstage:

Chris Jericho is walking in the back and he does not appear to be so happy go lucky any more. We go to commercial.

In the arena:

It is time for Chris Jericho to come to the ring and he has a mic . . . and a black eye. Jericho says that he beat Randy Orton last night and he should feel like the king of the world. Before he could win the title, he was interrupted by Bradshaw. We go to the highlights. Jericho says that instead of being the champion, he has a lot of questions. He invited Bradshaw to come to Raw and answer these questions. It turns out that Bradshaw did not appear. Instead he will go to Smackdown. Bradshaw says that there is no need because he is here via satellite. Jericho tells Bradshaw that he will turn his back so Bradshaw can attack him. Bradshaw says that he has a lot of businesses to run. Why would Bradshaw come to Buffalo. Bradshaw says that Jericho is not high on his list of priorities. Jericho laid his hands on him and you do not play with fire. Jericho wants to know if Bradshaw is the only person to be knocked down. Jericho points out that the time keeper was super kicked last week and he did not complain. Bradshaw says that the timekeeper could not get an appointment with his doorman. Bradshaw tells Jericho how things are down. Jericho says that since Bradshaw will not be on Raw, he will be at Smackdown on Friday night to get some answers. Bradshaw says that he makes deals and he made a deal with Vince McMahon. While Jericho almost had Orton beat, he will not be getting another title match. If Jericho comes to Smackdown, he will not appear at the Royal Rumble. Bradshaw tells Jericho that if he messes with him at Smackdown, Jericho will never EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER be champion AGAYNE. Jericho wonders what happened to Bradshaw since he went to Wall Street. Jericho asks about the most dominant champion in Smackdown history. Jericho talks about how Bradshaw was categorized with the likes of Eddie Guerrero and the Undertaker; but now he is categorized with the likes of Bill O’Reilly and Michael Cole. Jericho calls Bradshaw a wrestling afterthought. Bradshaw says that it is hard enough for him to call matches for people who cannot lace up his boots. He is retired, not dead. Bradshaw tells Jericho that he is coming to Raw. He tells Jericho to save Raw because he ran roughshod over Smackdown. He says that he will always be a WRESTLING GOD. We go to commercial.

Referee: Chad Patton
Carlito and Santino Marella vs. Brian Kendrick and Paul London

The start:


Kendrick starts while Santino and Carlito are a little confused over who starts the match for their team. Santino finally starts the match and they each try for kicks but Kendrick with a slap followed by a drop toe hold and arm drag. London tags in and they hit a double Japanese arm drag into an arm bar. Santino with a forearm but London with a drop kick and Carlito tags in. Carlito with a kick and then he slams London’s head into the turnbuckle followed by kicks and punches.

The Finish:

Carlito with a back elbow to London. Carlito takes time to talk to Marella and that allows London to hit a rana. London with a monkey flip followed by a cross body from Kendrick but Marella breaks up the cover. London goes after Marella but Santino pulls Maria into the way. Carlito hits a lungblower on Kendrick for the three count.

Winners - Carlito and Santino Marella

The Aftermath:


Santino says that this is the first time that an Italian and Colombian work together. Carlito says that he is Puerto Rican. Santino talks about how he loves Maria while Carlito likes to swap spit with men who are not cool. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Todd Grisham is with Randy Orton. Orton points out that he is still the champion. He says that he did what he said he would do. Orton says that he killed the virus. Todd points out that Orton will face Jeff Hardy at the Royal Rumble. Orton says that Hardy might be confident after beating Triple H, but he has beaten Triple H, Shawn Michaels and John Cena. Orton says that not only is he the Legend Killer, but he is the killer of hopes and dreams. Orton says that Hardy will find out why becoming the number one contender is the worst thing to happen to him.

Backstage:

Ric Flair is in the locker room and Triple H enters. Flair says that he has never felt this alive. Hunter says that there will always be one more limousine. Vince walks up behind Flair and he tells Flair that on New Year’s Eve, which is two weeks from tonight, his career will be on the line. Flair will wrestle Triple H. Vince wishes them a Happy New Year. We go to commercial on an awkward moment between Vince and Flair.

Referee: Michael Chioda
Jeff Hardy and Shawn Michaels vs. Mr. Kennedy and Randy Orton

The start:


Orton starts off with a side head lock on Hardy followed by a shoulder tackle. Hardy with a hip toss and arm drag. Hardy applauds his own performance and Kennedy tags in. They lock up and Kennedy with a knee and forearm to the back. Kennedy with a punch but then he uses his bad hand and he kicks Hardy in frustration. Hardy with a shoulder tackle and then Hardy with a somersault leg drop for a near fall. Hardy with a reverse atomic drop followed by a leg drop to the midsection. Hardy with a drop kick to Kennedy. Hardy slams Kennedy’s head into the turnbuckle. Hardy with a cross body and then he punches Orton who tries to interfere. Michaels throws Kennedy out of the ring and then it is time for stereo pescados as we go to commercial.

Mid-match notes:

We are back and Kennedy slams Michaels but he misses an elbow drop and Hardy is tagged in. Hardy sends Kennedy into the corner. Hardy misses Whisper in the Wind when Kennedy moves. Orton tags in and he punches Hardy in the head while Kennedy holds him. Orton punches Hardy while Hardy tries to defend himself. Orton with a boot to Hardy’s head. Orton follows that with a knee to the head. Kennedy comes in and he kicks Hardy in the back. Kennedy with a forearm to the head but Hardy with an elbow and flying clothesline. Michaels is tagged in and he punches Kennedy. Michaels with a reverse atomic drop to Kennedy and then he pulls Orton into the ring. Michaels with a flying forearm but when he kips up, Kennedy with a clothesline that spins Michaels. Kennedy with a cover for a two count.

Orton is tagged back in and he punches Michaels around the ring. Orton with a reverse chin lock to Michaels. Michaels punches Orton and chops him. Orton with an Irish whip and Michaels with the Michaels flip in the corner and Orton gets a two count. Orton with a kick to Michaels head and then it is time for the Garvin Stomp. Kennedy tags in and he chokes Michaels. Michaels with chops to Kennedy but Kennedy with punches and kicks in the corner. Kennedy with a running boot across the face for a two count and Hardy tries to break up the cover. Kennedy with a camel clutch. Michaels gets out of the hold with a jawbreaker and then he chops Kennedy. Kennedy blocks a super kick but Kennedy misses a Fireman’s carry slam.

The Finish:

Michaels with an enzuigiri and both men are down. Hardy and Orton are able to tag in and Hardy with a drop kick to Kennedy on the apron followed by a hot shot into the corner. Hardy with clotheslines to Orton and then he hits a gourdbuster driver. Kennedy breaks up the cover and then Michaels and Kennedy go over the top rope to the floor. Hardy sets for the Twist of Fate but Orton counters with an RKO attempt. Hardy blocks it and hits the Twist of Fate followed by a Swanton for the three count.

Winners - Shawn Michaels and Jeff Hardy
