WWE RAW Results - 06/09/2008

- The pyro explodes as the music plays and Jim Ross welcomes us to WWE Monday Night RAW. Tonight in the main event we will see WWE Champion Triple H face Jeff Hardy. Also tonight, JBL vs. John Cena.
- The music hits and out comes Vince McMahon. Vince stops at the entrance way where the glass case is empty. Vince welcomes us all to Money Mania. Vince asks us to give an applause for $1 million in cash and two uniformed officers come out with the money and place it in the glass podium.
Vince explains the rules and announces that the password when he calls you is WWE UNIVERSE. If you tell him that when he calls you, then you win some money. Vince announces after this first match, he is going to give away $200,000. The crowd pops as Mr. Kennedy comes out.
Mr. Kennedy vs. Paul Burchill
Mr. Kennedy makes his way to the ring first followed by Paul Burchill and his sister Katie Lea.
Kennedy and Burchill go at it to start the match with Kennedy getting an early 2 count. The two go back and forth on the mat with Burchill getting a 2 count of his own. Burchill nails Kennedy with lefts and rights to the face followed by a big shoulder and another 2 count.
Burchill grounds Kennedy with a side headlock but Kennedy fights back to his feet only to get leveled by a big clothesline and another. Kennedy counters another clothesline and drops Burchill with a roundhouse kick. Kennedy goes to work on Burchill now in the corner and hits his big running boot followed by a 2 count.
Kennedy goes for the Mic Check and Burchill reverses it. Burchill and Kennedy go back and forth off the ropes until Kennedy catches him in the Mic Check and hits it for the pinfall and the win.
Winner: Mr. Kennedy
After the match, Katie Lea comes in the ring and gets in Kennedy's face. She slaps him and Kennedy turns back around only to get attacked from behind by Paul Burchill. Paul and Katie make their way to the back as the crowd tells them they suck and Kennedy lays in the ring.
- Vince McMahon is on the entrance way ready to give away $200,000. Vince begins to dial the number and says wrong number. He dials the number again and it's a cell phone with music playing. It's RICK ROLL! A guy picks up and Vince hangs up on him.
Vince dials the number and gets the Rick Roll music again. The same guy picks up and its some guy named Daniel from California. The guy gives the correct password and Vince tells him he has just won $200,000. The money music hits and the guy says something about going to WrestleMania.
Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix
Back from commercial and the WWE Women's Champion Mickie James is making her way to the ring. We see a blurb on the screen saying that Vince will give away more money right after this match. Next, The Glamazon makes her way to the ring.
Beth overpowers Mickie to start the match but the Champ comes right back only to get knocked back down. Beth catches Mickie in a big tilt-a-whirl slam and gets a 1 count. Beth stomps and kicks on Mickie, picking her up, bouncing her off the ropes and dropping her with a big suplex. A 2 count by Beth Phoenix.
Beth continues to dominate Mickie, dropping her back over her knee. Mickie fights back with a nice head scissors take down. Mickie and Beth trade blows in the center of the ring. Mickie comes back with a dropkick to the face and a 2 count on The Glamazon. Mickie comes off the top rope with the Thesz Press and gets the pinfall and the win.
Winner: Mickie James
After the match, Beth attacks Mickie from the back until Melina comes in for the rescue. Melina unleashes on Beth and slams her from the top rope. Melina makes her exit from the ring as Beth looks on.
- Vince McMahon is back at the entrance way by the phone. He dials another number and a guy picks up, named Dustin. He tells Vince the correct password and Vince tells him he has just won $75,000. The money music plays again and Vince says he has a surprise guest joining him next. We go to commercial.
- Back from commercial and we see Triple H and John Cena face to face in the locker room. They exchange some words and Triple H says he is the best. Cena brings up the one match they had where Cena made him tap out at WrestleMania.
- We go back to the stage where Vince McMahon. He has Charlie Haas with him who he says he helping him give out some of this money. The crowd boos Haas. Vince dials another number and nothing happens. Vince tells Charlie he brings us bad luck. Vince dials another number and nothing happens again. We try it again and get a busy signal. The Gabe from Eprize guy has to bring Vince another number out.
Vince goes for it one more time as some people in the crowd chant "boring." This time the number rings and a lady named Donna picks up. She gives the correct password also and wins $50,000. Vince tells Charlie Haas that if he kisses a Diva, he will give the woman $100,000. Out comes Maria in a sexy golden dress. Haas turns her around and kisses her. He keeps going for it as she backs off. Vince says he will throw another $25,000 in it if Haas kisses another Diva. Out comes Mae Young! The WWE Hall of Famer comes out, pulls Haas into her and hits him with a big sloppy kiss. We hear a "DAMN!" from Ron Simmons from somewhere and the money music hits as Mae keeps on messing with Haas. Donna has won $125,000, I believe.
- Backstage we see JBL. He says tonight, John Cena deserves the beating that he is going to give him in the ring. That match is next as we go back to commercial.
- Back from commercial and the WWE Champion Triple H is making his way to the ring. The Game sits at the broadcast table with Ross and Lawler for commentary on this next match.
JBL vs. John Cena
Triple H takes a seat for commentary as JBL's white limousine pulls into the arena. Layfield steps out and makes his way to the ring to wait on Cena. The music hits, the crowd pops and out comes John Cena.
The match gets ready to start as Triple H raises the WWE Title to John Cena, distracting him. JBL attacks Cena from behind and goes to work on him. A big shoulder off the ropes levels Cena. JBL works on Cena's back with forearms and left and right hands. Cena hits a big bulldog out of nowhere and gets a 2 count.
JBL drops Cena on his back again, hits and elbow drop and gets another 2 count. Neck breaker by JBL knocks Cena down again for yet another 2 count. Cena goes for the FU but JBL rolls out to the ring by the announcers table. Triple H and JBL get in a staredown as RAW goes back to commercial.
Back from commercial and JBL hits Cena with a big boot on the floor. JBL throws Cena back in the ring and gets another 2 count. JBL and Cena lock up with Cena coming with lots of right hands. Off the ropes and JBL catches Cena in a sleeper hold.
Off the ropes again and JBL levels Cena with another big boot. JBL goes for the Clothesline from Hell but gets hit by two Cena shoulder blocks. A big back drop by Cena as the crowd pops. Cena goes for the Five Knuckle Shuffle and nails it on JBL. Out of nowhere JBL hits the big clothesline and gets a 2 count on Cena.
JBL rolls out of the ring and rips the top and TV monitors off the RAW announcers table as Triple H stands up and looks on. JBL goes back in the ring where Cena is still down. Cena rolls JBL up out of nowhere and gets the pin and the win.
Winner: John Cena
After the match, Triple H holds the WWE Title high and Cena looks on. Triple H stands on top of the RAW announcers table as Cena comes down and jumps up on it too and gets in Triple H's face, telling him right here and right now. Triple H gets off the table, starts to walk away but pulls Cena's leg and trips him, making him fall on top of the table. Triple H exits to his music as Cena watches on, looking embarrassed.
- Up next is The Highlight Reel with Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels as we go back to commercial.
- Back from commercial and Vince McMahon is on the stage again and tells Lilian Garcia to stand up and she does. Vince says there was a rumor that she had a discussion with Jim Ross today where she was bragging about her measurements. Her measurements add up to equal 98, so Vince is going to give away $98,000. Vince dials a number, messes up and has to start over. This time a girl named Stephanie picks up and of course, she gives the right password. The money music hits as Vince leads us into the Highlight Reel.
- Chris Jericho comes out where The Highlight Reel is setup in the ring. The WWE Intercontinental Champion poses on the turnbuckle before kicking the segment off. Jericho talks about HBK has been a guest on the Reel a lot in the past few months and talks about what Shawn Michaels is to him - a mentor, a friend and more. Jericho brings out his guest tonight, Shawn Michaels.
Jericho talks about HBK's Stretcher Match with Batista and tells him the fans still love him. HBK appreciates the kind words but asks Jericho if he has a question in all of this. Jericho brings up the fake knee injury and HBK lying to everyone. HBK says technically the inly person he lied to was Jericho. HBK and Y2J go back and forth some more until Jericho leads the crowd in an HBK chant. Jericho attacks HBK out of nowhere and they brawl in the ring. Jericho kicks HBK between the legs and pushes him to the mat. Jericho stands over HBK and tells him this is what he gets for lying. Jericho taunts HBK some more before throwing him head first into the flat screen TV that hangs for The Highlight Reel set. HBK is down as Jericho walks off to a mixed reaction from the crowd.
Snitsky and Umaga vs. Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly
Back from commercial and the nasty team of Umaga and Snitsky is making their way to the ring. This match will be a non-title match. Out next is the WWE Tag Team Champions Rhodes and Holly.
The match goes back and forth early on with Snitsky and Umaga dominating most of the match. Snitsky and Holly end up going at it with both men getting knocked down. Snitsky tags in Umaga as Cody also gets tagged in. Cody staggers Umaga with clotheslines and dropkicks. Umaga catches Cody in a big sidewalk slam and drops him.
Umaga hits the Samoan Spike on Cody and gets the pinfall as Snitsky and Holly are outside of the ring trying to make it in.
Winners: Snitsky and Umaga
After the match, Hardcore Holly helps Cody Rhodes up as Ted DiBiase Jr. shows up at the entrance way. DiBiase says ever since he made his announcement about the Night of Champions match, Rhodes and Holly aren't on the same page. DiBiase tells them their time is running out and says in two weeks, there will be new Tag Team Champions and that moment will be just like him, he says, simply priceless.
- Back from commercial and Vince McMahon introduces WWE's version of American Idol. Jillian Hall and Trevor Murdoch are in the ring. Trevor starts singing "Take the Money and Run" until Jillian interrupts him, telling him it's horrible. Jillian breaks out in a horrible song as usual. Vince stops her, saying somewhere dogs are barking. Vince dials another number to give out some more money.
This time a girl named Sarah picks up. She tells Vince the correct password and Vince tells her she's won $2. Yes, two whole dollars. Vince says he is going to give more to another caller but calls out Gabe from ePrize as they will give out another $200,000. Vince calls another number and some guy named Joshua picks up, gives Vince the password and wins the money. The guy says "Oh shit!" which WWE bleeps out. The money music hits again as we go back to commercial.
Carlito and Santino Marella vs. Cryme Tyme
Carlito and Santino make their way to the ring first as we see clips from SmackDown last week with Cousin Sal. The music hits, the crowd pops and Cryme Tyme make their way to the ring next.
Santino and JTG start the match first and Santino gets a very early 1 count but gets himself rolled up as well. We get a couple more early counts to start the match. Cryme Tyme hit a nice double team move that gets a 2 count on Santino. JTG comes off the top rope but looks like he hurts himself as Santino moves out of the way and tags in Carlito.
Carlito works over JTG and tags back in Santino who grounds JTG to the mat with a rear chin lock. JTG and Santino knock each other down and eventually Shad gets tagged in. Shad comes in and hits Santino with clotheslines and a big powerslam. Carlito and JTG end up on the floor fighting as Shad and Santino are in the ring. Shad hits a big power move on Santino after a big boot and pins him for the win.
Winners: Cryme Tyme
After the match, Vince McMahon calls Cryme Tyme up to the entrance way. They go reaching for the money. Vince says at the end of the main event tonight, he is going to give away $250,000 to one person. Right now, he's going to help them give away $51,998. Vince dials another number.
A guy named Will picks up the phone and Vince tells him he has won the money. Of course the guy gives the right password and Cryme Tyme says its all about that money, money, yeah, yeah. Vince breaks out in chant with Cryme Tyme and the fans as the music hits.
- Backstage we see Jeff Hardy coming to the ring for tonight's main event as we go back to commercial.
Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy
Back from commercial and the #1 contender John Cena makes his way to the announcers table for commentary on this match. Jeff Hardy makes his way to the ring first followed by the WWE Champion Triple H.
Triple H and Jeff Hardy go at it to start the match with Triple H knocking Hardy down with a shoulder. Triple H stares at Cena and turns around to an attack from Hardy. Hardy backs Triple H in the corner with right hands and kicks him back with a spinkick. Hardy hits his low dropkick in the turnbuckle and gets a 2 count.
Hardy comes off the ropes and gets caught in a Triple H spinebuster. Triple H mounts Hardy and hits a series of right hands. Triple H hits the high knee on Hardy off the ropes for another 2 count. Triple H drops a big knee on Hardy and gets yet another 2 count. Abdominal stretch applied by The Game as Hardy holds on.
Triple H throws Hardy hard into the turnbuckle and covers him for another 2 count. Hardy finally catches Triple H in the face with a kick and a clothesline, followed by another and right hands. Triple H hits another knee to the face and another 2 count on Hardy. Triple H continues to pound on Hardy and exchange looks with Cena.
Hardy finally fights back with right hands but misses the Whisper in the Wind from the top rope as Triple H stepped out of the way. Triple H clotheslines Hardy over the top to the floor. The referee begins his count as Triple H goes outside, slamming Hardy's head into the fan barrier. Hardy reverses The Game and throws him into the barrier. Hardy jumps at Triple H and The Game throws him into John Cena.
Triple H throws Jeff Hardy back in the ring and goes to follow him until John Cena pulls The Game off the apron without the referee seeing it. Jeff Hardy is declared the winner by countout.
Winner: Jeff Hardy
After the match, Triple H gets up and has another stare down with John Cena. The two look like they're about to go at it until Jeff Hardy comes over the top rope and lays out both men on the floor.
- Back from commercial and Vince McMahon comes out to give away the final $250,000 for tonight. Vince thanks the WWE fans in attendance in Oakland tonight, the fans across the world and the USA Network. Vince announces that next week on RAW, he will give away another $1 million. You must re-register for next week's give away. Vince dials the final number for tonight and a guy named Steve picks up. The guy gives the password and Vince tells him he has won his $250,000. Vince congratulates him and the rest of the winners. The money music hits and Vince wishes everyone a good night as RAW goes off the air.
