WWE RAW Results - 01/14/08
Mobile, Alabama


- RAW kicks off with a video highlighting the Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy feud and the Umaga/Hardy cage match on RAW last week.

- WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy comes to the ring as Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcome us to RAW. Hardy says he is excited. He talks about his chance to become WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble. Hardy says Orton can come out now, or he will come back there and find him.

Hardy waits on Orton to come out and here comes the WWE Champion. Orton says you want me, you got me... under one condition. Orton says only two men in WWE history have held the WWE Title and the Intercontinental Title at the same time. He says he wants to be the third. Orton challenges Hardy to a match tonight for Hardy's Intercontinental Title. Hardy accepts the challenge.

Hardy accepts the challenge. Hardy says at the Rumble, he's taking Orton's title and tonight he's taking him out.

- Jim Ross reminds us of the William Regal vs. Ric Flair match for Flair's career later tonight. Promo video is shown of Vince making the stipulations for Flair's career ending matches.

Ashley Massaro, Maria and Mickie James vs. Melina, Jillian Hall and Beth Phoenix

Mickie James comes in and cleans house of all three of the other Divas but Beth Phoenix goes for her finisher which is countered by Mickie for a 2 count. Ashley and Melina take it to the floor with Beth Phoenix and Mickie in the ring. Beth drops her throat on the ropes and hits a fisherman's suplex for the 1-2-3.

Winners: Jillian Hall, Melina and Beth Phoenix

- Vince and Regal are backstage and Vince says he has confidence in Regal to end Flair's career tonight. Regal says he will do what Triple H, Orton and Umaga couldn't.

Vince says he has a present for Regal and it's an enema device. Vince and Regal makes a joke on Mobile, AL and Vince says it's good thing this isn't in HD because HD would show... in walks Snitsky. Snitsky says he doesn't care about HD, he just wants to hurt people and that he has been waiting for his chance. Vince says tonight he will have his chance against Triple H.

Vince tells Regal to take the enema device for his match with Flair tonight.

- Video airs for WWE's High Definition programming which begins next week on RAW, ECW and SmackDown.

Royal Rumble Qualifying Match: Shawn Michaels vs. Trevor Murdoch

HBK gets on the mic and basically says he shouldn't have to have a Rumble qualifying match. He says he was the runner-up last year and has won the match on 2 separate occasions. Shawn says he came out here to challenge Mr. Kennedy so let's make the match the Rumble qualifier. Out comes Trevor Murdoch.

The match starts out with Murdoch on the offensive. Murdoch knocks HBK down with a big boot to the face and starts beating on him. Murdoch gets a 2 count on Michaels. Murdoch holds HBK down with a vice grip. Fans get behind HBK and he gets up and takes control with some chops and a kick to the face.

HBK starts to hit his signature moves on Murdoch. Murdoch down and HBK goes to the top for the elbow drop and hits it. Shawn gets ready for some Sweet Chin Music but Murdoch drops before HBK can nail it. HBK locks on an inverted Figure Four and makes Trevor Murdoch submit.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Mr. Kennedy comes on the big screen and says HBK just can't handle the fact that he got beat by Kennedy. Kennedy says HBK's ego just can't let it go. As far as his challenge goes for next week, Kennedy says he doesn't have anything to prove to HBK, but out of the kindness of his heart he's going to give him one more chance. Kennedy says he needs a warm up match for the Rumble anyway. Kennedy says next week, HBK will step in the ring with the Future and the Present of Sports Entertainment, Mr. Kennedy. The match is set for RAW next week. Trevor Murdoch gets up and tries to come at HBK from behind but gets hit by some Sweet Chin Music.

- Still to come tonight, Ric Flair vs. William Regal and JBL's "Second_Coming" to RAW.

- Promo video airs highlighting WrestleMania VI with Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior, where Warrior became the WWF Champion and the WWF Intercontinental Champion at the same time. JR and King plug the Orton/Hardy match for the IC Title tonight.

- JR and King go over the Royal Rumble pay-per-view card. The Royal Rumble is just two weeks away.

- Vince and Hornswoggle are backstage. Vince says he is proud, but concerned because Hornswoggle is in the Royal Rumble match. Vince says Hornswoggle has no experience in a Royal Rumble match, so he wants to give him some. Tonight we will have a mini Royal Rumble match, no pun intended. Hornswoggle will be the first person in the ring. His opponents will be first Kennedy, then Mankind, then Batista and maybe a surprise or two. If Hornswoggle is successful tonight, Vince says he has a real chance at winning the Rumble match and going onto WrestleMania. Vince says that isn't too likely is it? Hornswoggle shakes his head while Vince looks on and grabs Hornswoggle by the throat, throws him on the couch and says his last name is McMahon, anything can happen. Vince says he is damn proud as Hornswoggle is crying.

- Triple H is shown coming to the ring for his match with Snitsky.

Triple H vs. Snitsky

The Game makes his way to the ring first. Triple H does his usual entrance then Snitsky comes down ready to fight. Fans are popping for Triple h. The two lock up and Snitsky backs him into the corner. Triple H turns it around and they go back and forth.

Snitsky goes running at Triple H and ends up over the top rope and onto the floor as we go to commercial. Back from commercial with Snitsky in control of The Game. Snitsky with a bear hug on Triple H, trying to get him to submit. The fans begin to rally behind The Game. Snitsky knocks him back down and maintains control.

Snitsky goes for a pumphandle slam and Triple H counters with a DDT. Both men are down. They get up on the 5 count, Triple H hits the facebuster followed by the spinebuster. Triple H goes for The Pedigree but Snitsky throws him over the top rope and to the floor. Snitsky throws HHH into the steel steps and goes to drop the other set on his head but The Game moves. Triple H hits Snitsky with a steel chair below the belt and throws him in the ring. Triple H gets DQ'd by the referee. Triple H gets the sledgehammer from under the ring, takes it in the ring and knocks Snitsky down with it. Pedigree and Snitsky is done.

Winner by DQ: Snitsky

Triple H celebrates with his sledgehammer and walks up the ramp when Vince comes on the screen. Vince says he has become increasingly violent because he can't be in the Royal Rumble match. Vince says he should take a chill pill, calm down and relax. Triple H reacts by destroying the screen with the sledgehammer and throwing it through it to blow it up. Triple H celebrates with the fans as we go to commercial.

- We're back from commercial and the busted up Titantron is shown. Vince and Triple H are backstage. Vince says he can be at the Rumble if he can win his match next week. Triple H says, my match? Vince says, yeah your match next week...

- JBL comes out for his "second_coming" to RAW complete with all the balloons and everything. JBL's music plays as balloons continue to fall from the rafters. JBL says he understands Jericho had a rough week last week. Clips from Y2J/JBL on RAW are shown when JBL drug him around with the cables. JBL says Jericho couldn't make it tonight, but he knows he is watching. JBL tells Jericho to move over, he wants to talk to his children. He says look what I did to your daddy, look at that coward. JBL talks some more and gets more pyro as he leaves. Jim Ross says Jericho suffered a bruised larynx at the hands of JBL last week.

- Up next; Mini-Royal Rumble match with Hornswoggle, Mankind, Batista and Mr. Kennedy.

Promo shown for WWE No Mercy 2002 with Kane vs. Triple H where Triple H became both the WWE Champion and WWE Intercontinental Champion. JR plugs the Hardy/Orton match later tonight.

Mini Royal Rumble Match

Match is just like a typical Rumble match with rules. Hornswoggle is out first. It's hard to see in the arena thanks to all the smoke from JBL's intro and exit. Mr. Kennedy is out next.... but it's a midget version of Mr. Kennedy.

The midget Kennedy tries to grab the mic from the ceiling and do the KENNEDY intro but he can't reach it. Couple of near eliminations early on. Hornswoggle hits a dropkick but gets caught in the corner by the midget Kennedy. Next out is the midget Mankind. Little Kennedy catches Mankind as soon as he gets in the ring. Little Mankind pulls out Socko but Hornswoggle blocks it and throws Little Mankind out. Hornswoggle picks up the mini Kennedy and throws him out. A roided up looking midget Batista comes out and does Batista's intro. Mini Batista in and hits a spear on Hornswoggle, then shakes the ropes, just like Batista. Hornswoggle almost falls out of the ring but he holds on. The counter goes off again and out comes a mini Kane.

The counter goes off again and it's the real Great Kahli along with his translator. The mini Batista comes back in the ring and lays out Hornswoggle. The real, 7 foot 3 inch Khali comes to the ring.

Khali goes after Hornswoggle but he takes off. In comes Finlay from behind attacking Khali with the shillegah. Finlay gets Ranjin Singh in the arena and lays him out and watches on as Khali leaves. Hornswoggle comes back in the ring and threy throw Singh out. The referee raises Hornswoggle's hand as the winner.

Winner: Hornswoggle

- Randy Orton is shown in the back getting ready for his WWE Intercontinental Title match tonight with Jeff Hardy.

- A graphic comes on the screen with Triple H and the RAW logo that says "We are experiencing technical difficulties, please stay with us" as we cut to a promo for RAW in HD next week.

- Finlay and Vince are backstage. Finlay grabs Vince by the neck. Vince tells him to get his hands off him and that he had nothing to do with Khali coming out. Finlay says if you break our deal... and Vince shuts him up and he says never bring up our deal. Vince says if you want to blow off some steam, do it against Khali on SmackDown this Friday. Finlay brings up the deal again they have and Vince says don't bring it up. Finlay leaves.

Career Threatening Match: Ric Flair vs. William Regal

Flair comes out first, then Regal and the two get warmed up as we go to commercial. Back from commercial, Regal has Flair down with a hold on his knee. Flair breaks the hold but Regal starts the stomps. Flair rolls out of the ring and pulls Regal with him. Flair slams Regals leg on the apron and uses the ring posts. Back in the ring now, Flair working on Regal's knee.

Flair locks Regal in the Figure Four and holds it. Regal makes it to the ropes but Flair remains in control. Regal grabs the tights and rolls Flair up for a 2 count. While Regal is arguing with the referee, Flair rolls up Regal for the 1-2-3. Short match. Regal is left in the ring arguing with the referee and backing him into the corner as Flair makes his exit up the ramp.

Winner: Ric Flair

- Up next, Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton.

WWE Intercontinental Title Match: Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy

The WWE Champion comes out first and awaits Jeff Hardy and his Intercontinental Title, which is up for grabs. Hardy runs in and Randy Orton hits him with a brutal low blow to start things off. The referee DQ's Randy Orton to start things off.

Randy Orton grabs the mic and says hold on, this show is not over. Trust me, you do not want to miss this, he says. Orton slings Hardy through the ropes and to the floor and pulls up the mat to expose the concrete floor.

Orton goes to hit the RKO but Hardy shoves him into the apron and begins to brawl with Orton. The two go at it up the ramp, back and forth. Orton takes control at the top of the ramp and throws Hardy face first into the RAW set. Hardy is at the edge of the stage as Orton continues to beat him. Orton measures Hardy up and goes to kick him in the head, off the stage but Hardy back body drops Orton off the stage onto the floor! Orton is down on some sort of platform s the referees come to check on Randy Orton. Orton is down and isn't moving. Hardy begins to climb the RAW set and walks out on the lights, looks at Orton and hesitates. Hardy goes to climb higher!

Hardy climbs up higher on the RAW set and hits a Swanton Bomb from very high up! Both Hardy and Orton are laid out and it's a mess. The referees and EMT's bring stretchers over and tend to the two Champions. Neither of them are moving as neck braces are strapped to them and they're put on stretchers.

Orton and Hardy are wheeled out on stretchers and in neckbraces. Hardy barely raises his hand to the fans as RAW goes off the air.
