I am Richard Gray and I will be with you for the next three hours covering tonight's Raw live from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. All draft picks will be included in our Breaking News Ticker at the top of the page.
The pyros go off as we are live.... 15,183 fans is the announced attendance by Jim Ross. Jerry Lawler says that whoever wins their match will win a draft pick for their brand. We go to Michael Cole and Mick Foley. Cole reiterates with Lawler said that after each match a draft pick will be made. They go to 'The Tazz' and Mike Adamle. We cut to a shot of the $1 million that Vince McMahon is going to giveaway.
Tonight's password is NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS.
Triple H vs. Mark Henry
The following match is the first match in the 2008 WWE Draft. Triple H's music plays as The Game comes to ringside with the WWE Championship belt around his waist, water in hand. Lilian Garcia announces Hunter as he receives a big pop from the live crowd. Mark Henry is Hunter's opponent. Jim Ross is working this match with Mick Foley from SmackDown. All matches are inter-promotional, whoever wins their match will win a draft pick for their brand. Raw referee Chad Patton is the official. The bell rings and we're officially underway. Triple H gives Henry a DX crotch chop. He applies a headlock on Henry, he sends Hunter off the ropes and down to the mat. Henry pumps the crowd to a course of boos. Right hand from Hunter onto Henry. Henry locks him up and gives him a headbutt into the turnbuckles. Henry pulls him from the corner and sends him down to the mat. Another headbutt from Henry onto Hunter which sends Triple H to another corner of the ring. Henry whips him to the opposite corner only to get kicked. Hunter backs him down with right hands.
Henry connects a clothesline and gets a two count. Hard right hand to the midsection of Hunter from Henry. Loud Triple H chants from the crowd as Henry hits a scoop slam. Hunter is on the mat as Henry goes off the ropes for an elbow drop. He gets a two count. Henry sets Hunter up on the corner and hits a Vader Bomb off the middle rope. Henry goes for the cover but Hunter gets his foot on the ropes. Henry pulls him to the middle, he gets another two count. Mark Henry uses his strength for another near fall. Mark Henry applies a submission hold on Triple H but Triple H gets to his feet. Henry lifts him up but Hunter wrestles out. Triple H works to bring Mark Henry down. Hunter drives his knee in the face of Henry followed by straight right hands. Finally Hunter gets Henry on the mat. Triple H goes for the Pedigree but Henry is able to use his strength to build a counter and get another near fall. Mark Henry goes off the ropes and tries to drop on Hunter, he misses. Out of nowhere Hunter hits the Pedigree and gets the three count.
Winner - WWE Champion Triple H, Raw gets the first draft pick
First Draft Pick
Rey Mysterio to Raw. Mysterio comes out and stares down Triple H who has the WWE Championship around his shoulder. Mysterio walks to the ring. Mysterio gets in the ring and shakes Hunter's hand as he welcomes him to Raw. Mysterio pumps the crowd from the ropes.
Richard Reacts: Excellent pickup for Raw as I have missed seeing Rey on Mondays. He can have a lot of exciting matches with some new superstars and it makes his return even more significant. Rey is recovering from a torn right biceps muscle that he suffered back in February.
McMahon’s First $100,000 Giveaway
Vince McMahon comes out to his music, it's time for the first giveaway. McMahon says what a surprise, Rey Mysterio to Monday Night Raw. McMahon promises more surprises later tonight. He goes over the past two weeks of McMahon Million Dollar Mania. He goes over the prizes for tonight's Raw which you can read by clicking the link on the left. The first 5 prizes will be for $100,000 while the sixth will be for $500,000. Kelly Kelly comes out to help McMahon giveaway the money. Crystal Vega from Bronx, New York is on the phone. She gives the password but McMahon says she is a loser because it's wrong but Kelly Kelly corrects him and says that she's right. Kelly Kelly dances....
Richard Reacts: The music is back... Lot s of screaming in the background. I'm not sure if that was McMahon's way of being funny or if he just messed up.
We're backstage with Triple H welcoming Mysterio to Raw. John Cena comes in and tells him that he has a very interesting way of saying thank you. Cena talks about making the score even last week with Jericho and Lance Cade only for Hunter to beat him up. Hunter says that two years ago Cena beat him and that he never got over. Triple H says that Cena is not as good as him and he never will be. Cena says that those are some strong words and maybe it was a fluke but he won. Cena says let me paraphrase someone you respect, if you wanna be the man, you gotta beat the man. Triple H says let me paraphrase something you said... he holds up the WWE Championship belt and says until you take this, you are nothing!
Richard Reacts: Wow this is all happening pretty fast but it was interesting how Triple H was hard on Cena as he definitely played a little heel in that previous segment. Good work for a short backstage segment and I liked how they made Rey Mysterio look like a major player. Hopefully Rey will get to work with the big boys on Raw.
Finlay & Hornswoggle vs. Santino Marella & Carlito
We're back live as Hornswoggle music plays - here comes Finlay and Hornswoggle. This match will be for another draft pick. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler will be calling this match. Santino Marella's music plays and here comes the first representative from Raw. Carlito is out next in the 'I'm a jobber' Night of Champions t-shirt. The bell rings and we're off with Finlay and Santino in the ring. Horny wants a tag as Finlay kicks Santino and tags in his 'son'. Hornswoggle works over Santino and tags in Finlay. Finlay eats a clothesline from Santino. Finlay goes to the outside, Santino goes for a baseball slide but is caught in the ring apron. The fight goes to the outside with all four men until Santino & Finlay get back in the ring. Carlito is tagged in. Carlito works over Finlay and tags in Santino. They double team Finlay but he is able to get physical with Santino and take out Carlito too. Shillelagh in hand, Finlay goes after Santino. Carlito makes the save but Finlay works him over and Horny gets tagged in. Tad pole splash and Santino is pinned by Hornswoggle.
Winners - Hornswoggle & Finlay, SmackDown gets a draft pick
Second Draft Pick
Jeff Hardy to SmackDown. Hardy comes out and Hardy gets his usual tremendous pop.
Richard Reacts: Well there goes my Rey Mysterio vs. Jeff Hardy dream match but I guess it's not a complete surprise as we knew big names would be moving and two big names have moved.
Vince McMahon announces Randy Orton out to help him giveaway the next $100,000. Orton, with his arm in a sling, says just like everyone else here tonight he was forced to be here because he is eligible for the draft. He says since he is out here there is something that he wants to say to Triple H and John Cena. He says that he doesn't care who is champion after Night of Champions but they better hope he gets drafted tonight because he will be the WWE Champion again. Orton apologizes to Vince and says he isn't in the mood to giveaway $100,000 and walks away.
McMahon’s Second $100,000 Giveaway
Vince McMahon announces tonight's main event - World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. John Cena. McMahon goes to the giveaway, cue the game show music... Samira from Hamtramck, Michigan is on the phone. They give the password but in broken English. Before he lets them off he asks them who is going to win at Night of Champions... they say Triple H.
Richard Reacts: At least it was quick....
15-Man Tri-Branded Battle Royal with superstars from Raw, SmackDown, and ECW is announced for later tonight. The winner will win their brand two draft picks.
Hardcore Holly & Rhodes vs. Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely
It's a Raw vs. ECW match coming up with WWE World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes coming out. Again, the winner will win their brand a draft pick. We cut to Mike Adamle who will call the match with Jerry Lawler. Ted DiBiase is alongside them with his father's book. Out comes Chavo Guerrero and Bam Neely. Bam and Cody start things off with Bam stomping the heck out of the young worker. Chavo is tagged in and he attacks Rhodes. Side headlock from Chavo onto Rhodes but when he tries a suplex he eats a dropkick from Rhodes. Cody tags in Holly who takes it to Chavo. Holly assaults Neely in the corner but the distraction allows Chavo to go off the ropes. Chavo ends up getting the first cover. Rhodes makes the save and knocks Bam Neely off the apron. Chavo gives head scissors to Rhodes and sends him to the outside. It allows Holly to hit the Alabama Slam and get the three count.
Winners - WWE World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes, Raw gets a draft pick
CM Punk to Raw. Punk comes out with Rhodes and Holly applauding. We see a shot of Jericho backstage as Raw goes to commercial.
Richard Reacts: Wow they sure made light of Chavo and Bam Neely there but what do you expect for the brand that is basically Sunday Night Heat? Punk to Raw was talked about early but there were reports that had him going to SmackDown. Nonetheless it looks like he'll cash in his MITB shot in on Raw.
Back on Raw with Chris Jericho's music and the pyros going off. Jericho comes out in street clothes and the invisible Intercontinental Championship belt. Not really the heel reaction that I expected. Jericho gets in the ring and begins another heel promo about how the people around the world have been brainwashed into thinking that Shawn Michaels is a decent human being.
Jericho says that he is right about Shawn Michaels and it won't be long before he turns his back on all of us. January 11, 1992 we are shown clips of Marty Jannetty getting screwed by Michaels Michaels. November 23, 1994 we see Michaels screwing Diesel Kevin Nash. 2005 a clip airs of Michaels screwing Hulk Hogan. March 26, 2007 Shawn Michaels screws John Cena. April 27, 2008 we see a clip of Michaels' fake knee injury against Batista.
Back live, Jericho says lies, betrayal, egos - that's what Shawn Michaels is all about. He asks if that is what everyone in attendance is about as well. The crowd starts chanting HBK as Y2J explains that he refuses to let anyone chant for him any more because he is an honest good hearted person. He says that there is only one man that is a good person and that is a young man named Lance Cade. Cade is up on the big screen.
HBK tells Cade that he was Michaels' prized student. Cade says that he was the biggest athlete to come out of his school. Cade says that he knew that Shawn helped him get to the WWE but he knew he would turn his back on him eventually. Cade put over Jericho and said that he is a good man - someone that he can trust. Cade says he isn't going to give Michaels that chance. Cade says while all the people in attendance might not appreciate him - he does.
Jericho thanks him and says as far as Night of Champions goes, he would love to defend the IC belt against Shawn Michaels but that isn't going to happen because of what happened two weeks ago. Cue clips of Jericho throwing Michaels through the Jeritron. Back live, Jericho tells Shawn that the worst is yet to come. Michaels' music plays and here he comes. Michaels has the bandage on the side of his face, selling his eye 'injury'. Michaels hits the ring and attacks Jericho. Michaels beats him to the outside but Jericho slams Michaels' face against the SmackDown announce table. Medical staff comes out to tend to HBK's eye 'injury'.
Richard Reacts: They are really working on getting Lance Cade over and I like how they are doing it. Chris Jericho is the perfect person to help try to break Cade in even though I still do not agree with the ending of Raw last week. Shawn did an excellent job of selling the eye. Monster reaction for HBK which is not surprising with WWE in San Antonio.
We're back live as they replay clips of the Jericho/Michaels brawl from moments ago. We cut to Michael Cole who announces another match between SmackDown and ECW. Cole is joined by Tazz. They recap the previous draft picks. Rey Mysterio to Raw, Jeff Hardy to SmackDown, and CM Punk to Raw.
John Morrison & The Miz vs. The Hardys
WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz are out next. Vickie Guerrero comes out in a wheel chair to tremendous heat with Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. She says, gentlemen, I originally had Hawkins and Ryder to face you tonight so SmackDown could secure another draft pick but recent developments have changed her mind. She is wheeled to the back. Cue Matt Hardy's music... Jeff is with him. Matt Hardy and The Miz start things out. Matt sends Miz to the mat and backs him down. They lockup and Miz goes for a submission hold, Matt overpowers him. Side headlock from Hardy on The Miz. Back and forth in one of the corners. Hardy off the ropes with a clothesline onto Miz. He gets a cover. Jeff Hardy tags in. Vintage Hardys as they hit Poetry in Motion. Jeff takes care of Miz in the corner. Two count from Jeff on Miz. On the mat, Jeff Hardy applies a side headlock on The Miz. Miz is able to get to his feet and throw Hardy off the ropes. Morrison gives Jeff a knee from the outside and Morrison tags himself in. They double team Jeff Hardy.
Morrison gets a cover on Jeff for a two count. Morrison works on Jeff on the mat with a sleeper. Jeff is able to get to his feet but Morrison backs him off with a knee. Morrison goes to the outside and sets Jeff Hardy up with his head on the apron. Miz works over Hardy on the outside. Morrison tags in Miz as they double team Jeff. Miz applies a sleeper on Jeff. With the crowd behind him, he is able to get to his feet. Hardy backs him down with elbows. Miz sends him to the turnbuckles and follows with a clothesline. Two count on Hardy by Miz. Miz tags in John Morrison. They double team Jeff and Morrison gets another near fall. Morrison hammers away on Jeff Hardy in the center of the ring. Morrison tags The Miz back in. Miz drops a leg on Hardy and gets another two count. Submission hold on Jeff Hardy from Miz. Jeff backs down Miz and ends up connecting off the top rope. Both men are down.
Hot tags by both as Matt Hardy is in the face John Morrison. Matt Hardy gets a big bulldog on Morrison. He goes to the middle rope, vintage Hardy with a double axe handle. Hardy gets a two count on Morrison but Miz makes the save. Jeff hits the ring and knocks him out. Matt goes to the top but Morrison meets him there to stop him. Jeff and Miz fight on the outside as Matt Hardy connects a leg drop off the top rope. Morrison grabs the tights of Matt Hardy and gets the three count.
Winners - WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz, win a draft pick for ECW
Matt Hardy to ECW. Matt kisses Jeff in the ring on the cheek. The US Title is going to ECW with him.
Richard Reacts: I find that a bit surprising. But if the new taping schedule holds up with Raw/ECW I wonder if they'll move Jericho to SmackDown? We'll see but I hope you are all enjoying our live coverage!
It's time for another one. Vince McMahon says that he got a little overzealous when he threw out Ric Flair last week - he introduces him for tonight - here comes Ric Flair. Flair dials the next number. Donna from Selden, New York is on the phone. She wins $100,000. Flair gives her a WOOOOO! Flair shakes the hand of Vince McMahon as he walks to the back.
We see a shot of Mickie and Melina backstage as Raw goes to commercial.
Richard Reacts: Too early for Flair, way too early especially in this stupid giveaway. They made it even worse with him shaking the hand of Vince McMahon. Did Flair forget that this is the same man that ejected him out of the building last week? It's moments that this that just make me wonder if anyone knows what is going on.
Melina & Mickie James vs. Natalya & Victoria
The following is an 'announcer's only' draft pick match. The only people eligible to be drafted are announcers, ring announcers, and interviewers. Melina starts things out against Natalya. Natalya puts Melina in a headlock and throws her in one of the corners. Natalya hits a powerslam on Melina and gets a two count. Victoria tags herself in and kicks Melina in the head. Victoria buries her head in the midsection of Melina. Victoria whips Melina off the ropes but Melina counters and gets a near fall. Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole are calling the match (and not doing a very good job by the way). Melina hits a double kick on Melina but show is thrown off the top by Victoria. Mickie James goes over to check on her as well as the the referee. Looks like Melina might be legitimately injured. The fight goes to the outside with all of the women going at it but Jack Doane throws up the X.
Ends in Disqualification, both Raw & SmackDown get a draft pick
Jim Ross to SmackDown. Ross switches positions with Cole and joins Mick Foley. Michael Cole to Raw. Cole takes JR's spot. Ross doesn't look happy and Cole says he's ecstatic to be part of Raw.
Richard Reacts: What the hell? That sucks, but not surpising if you read WNW Premium.
We're back and shown clips of Melina being brought to the back. Looks like a badly sprained ankle that is legit. JR and Mick are together as JR appears distraught.
Vince McMahon brings The Great Khali out for the next giveaway. McMahon plugs Khali in 'Get Smart'. McMahon asks Khali to tell us something about 'Get Smart'. Khali speaks in his native tongue, McMahon says that he isn't the only star in 'Get Smart' - there is another guy named Dwayne Johnson better known as The Rock. He plugs the new Rock DVD.
Cue the game show music and the caller tells McMahon that it's the wrong number he guesses. Khali screams. Vince says that they are going to try it again as McMahon is given another number. The caller tells McMahon to hold on a minute - now it's Justin from Somerset, New Jersey on the phone. He wins $100,000. Khali starts screaming into the phone.
Edge vs. John Cena
Edge's music hits and here comes the World Heavyweight Champion. Back from commercial here comes the number one contender for the WWE Championship - John Cena. Jim Ross and Mick Foley are calling the match even though as JR said - it makes no sense with it a Raw vs. SmackDown match. Edge opens in control but Cena battles back quickly. Edge kicks Cena in the head, sending him down to the mat. Cena gets back to his feet but he eat a headbutt from the World Heavyweight Champion. Edge tries to slam Cena' head in the turnbuckle but Cena battles back. Edge counters with a powerslam and a near fall. Edge works over Cena in the corner with some right hands. Edge sends Cena to the mat with a clothesline. Edge works over Cena on the mat. Right hand from Edge to Cena. Cena counters, kicking Edge in the midsection, and gets a near fall.
Edge counters and gets a near fall for himself. On his knees, Cena eats a right hand. He gets to his feet and they exchange blows. Both men take each other down to the mat. Double count out begins but they both get up. Cena takes Edge down and follows with a belly-to-back suplex. Cena teases the 5 knuckle shuffle, he connects on Edge. FU attempt but Edge battles out. The second time, Edge counters again with a DDT and another near fall. Edge stalks Cena for the Spear. He goes for it but is tripped with a drop toe hold. Cena locks in the STFU. Edge makes it to the ropes. Cena breaks the hold, Edge goes to the apron. Edge sends Cena down to the mat and goes to the top rope. Cena meets him at the Top with an FU attempt, Edge throws Cena to the outside. Edge taunts Cena from inside the ring. Edge goes off the apron for a cross-body but is caught by Cena. Cena gets Edge up for the FU and gets on the ring steps, Edge counters away. Edge ends up getting himself counted out.
Winner via count out John Cena which wins a draft pick for Raw
After the match Batista comes out and takes Edge back to the ring. He takes him down once side. Edge retreats but Batista stares him down as he goes to the back.
Batista to Raw. He's in the ring with Cena as he stares him down. Edge waves goodbye from the outside.
Richard Reacts: Raw is real strong right now but I would be surprised if another huge name from Raw didn't switch to SmackDown. Very good television match between Cena and Edge.
We're backstage with Edge talking to Vickie Guerrero. Edge says that he won't have to deal with Batista anymore... he is out of his hair. Vince McMahon interrupts and says regardless of the draft all the championship matches for Night of Champion are in tact. McMahon says what if tonight your fiance was drafted somewhere else? Vickie panics. MVP is representing SmackDown in this forthcoming SmackDown vs. ECW match. Tommy Dreamer is wearing the 'I'm a jobber' Night of Champions t-shirt. He is with Colin Delaney. Mick Foley jokes about doing commentary with Adamle.
The bell rings and we're underway. They lockup but MVP dominates early. Dreamer battles back with right hands but MVP connects a big boot to the face of Dreamer. Colin checks on Dreamer as MVP suplexes Dreamer. MVP gets a two count on Dreamer then kicks him again in the head. MVP slams the head of Dreamer off the turnbuckle. Dreamer hits a bulldog on MVP. Dreamer gets on the middle rope and goes after MVP, MVP kicks him off. MVP waits for Dreamer to get to his feet, he charges with a boot to his face. MVP makes the cover after the big boot.
Winner - MVP, wins a draft pick for SmackDown
Umaga to SmackDown... Umaga comes out and gives Tommy Dreamer a Samoan Drop. Colin is left in the ring alone with Umaga. Here comes Umaga on Delaney.
Richard Reacts: This was no surprise what-so-ever even though we did break it first onWNW Premium at the beginning of March.
We come back from commercial as they thank Shinedown for the official theme song of Night of Champions. Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole run down the Raw picks... Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, Michael Cole, and Batista to Raw.
Foley and JR run down the SmackDown picks: Jeff Hardy, Jim Ross, and Umaga to SmackDown
Tazz goes over Matt Hardy to ECW
JBL vs. Kofi Kingston
The forthcoming match is a Raw vs. ECW match. The bell rings and they lockup in the ring. JBL hits a right hand to the face of Kingston and follows it with a stiff boot. Side headlock from JBL onto Kingston. JBL tries to throw Kofi out of the ring but he stops him. Kofi drops a legdrop on JBL. JBL connects more right hands and drops an elbow on Kingston. JBL physically dominates Kingston before he locks in a version of the Million Dollar Dream. Kofi tries to escape and finally does with some right hands. Fall away slam from JBL onto Kofi. Two count on Kofi. Another big boot to Kofi's face. JBL locks in another submission maneuver on Kofi in the middle of the ring. Kofi nearly eats a powerbomb from JBL but Kofi hits a standing drop kick. Kingston to the top rope on a staggering JBL, he misses. JBL goes off the ropes and deliver the clothesline from hell.
Winner - JBL, wins a draft pick for Raw
Kane to Raw. JBL looks on from inside the ring. The pyro explodes and here comes the Big Red Machine. The ECW Championship goes to Raw.
Richard Reacts: I don't see how Kane will go over Big Show at NOC, but we'll see...
Back from commercial, Vince McMahon is going to dial this one solo (thanks King). She is live in attendance, the camera finds her in the AT&T Center. It's Vanessa from Robstown, Texas who has just won $100,000. The final giveaway will be for $500,000.

Edge is also representing SmackDown, I don't know how I missed him in the last update. We're back on Raw and they're all battling it out in the ring. Khali is eliminated first. It looks like everyone is going to gang up on Big Show, he handles it well at first, dishing out headbutts to everyone. Triple H tries to slow him but gets drove into the mat. The Miz works on dumping Edge but he hangs on for dear life and finally kicks Miz back in the ring. Chavo saves Morrison from being eliminated by Kane by jumping on Kane's back.
