WWE RAW Results - 03/10/2008

- RAW kicks off tonight with a packed crowd and Jim Ross welcomes us to the three-hour special tonight, WrestleMania Rewind. The casket is at ringside, the druids are chanting and we're about to get the Casket match it looks like.
- Ric Flair comes out, not dressed to wrestle, to a huge pop. Flair says last week HBK looked him in the eye and said he didn't want to face him at WrestleMania, he didn't want to be the one to retire Flair. He also said he would Stop Flair's Show. Flair says with all due respect, but he needs HBK to come out here right now.
- Shawn Michaels comes out, also not dressed to wrestle, and gets his usual pop. Flair says that's the best entrance in professional wrestling today, and he loves HBK's music. Flair says when he came in the business, the word sympathy didn't exist and it doesn't exist in his vocabulary now. Flair says if he can't compete with the best, he doesn't want to compete at all. He doesn't want people running down saving him, he wants to stand on his own two feet, he doesn't want sympathy or pity. Flair says if he wins at WrestleMania, he is the man. He knows his career has came to an end, but he knows on a real good day, he can get one over on Shawn Michaels and his career can go on forever. Flair asks HBK infront of the world to give him Shawn Michaels at his best, he wants a 100% commitment from HBK right now.
- HBK says he never meant to show Flair pity, and he does love him. Shawn Michaels says he is Mr. WrestleMania and at that event, he has set many standards. HBK says at WrestleMania, he is the man, and he has no control over what happens to him when that day for WrestleMania comes. HBK says if Flair wins or loses, one thing is certain - between Flair and HBK, the Show will get stolen. HBK says let's do it and they shake. HBK says it has came to his attention that Flair will wrestle Edge and the Edgeheads on Smackdown in a cage match. HBK says Flair won't be there alone, and says he will make sure it's 3 on 2. Out comes Randy Orton.
The WWE Champion Randy Orton comes out and says what a touching, touching moment. Orton says not only is tonight WrestleMania Rewind, but it's part two of the Triple Threat Take Over and reminds everyone that he is in charge tonight. Orton announces Triple H will face Kane tonight in a WrestleMania rematch and reminds HBK that he didn't win at last week's WrestleMania, so he will give him the chance tonight. Orton announces Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena as another match tonight.
- We cut to a video of the WrestleMania 22 match with Mark Henry and The Undertaker, which Taker won. The casket match is next after we get back from commercial.
- Back from commercial and the druids are lined up at the ramp with torches, and the casket is waiting at ringside. The bell tolls and out comes The Undertaker, to a thunderous pop.
Casket Match: The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry
The Undertaker makes his way out and stops at the casket and stares at it. Taker makes his way into the ring as The World's Strongest Man's music hits and out he comes.
Taker starts off with a kick to the face followed by left and right hands on Henry. Another big boot to the face and a flying clothesline sends Henry down. Taker tells the referees to open the lid of the casket and he tries to dump Henry in it but has no luck the first time around. Taker works on Henry in the corner now and walks the ropes for Old School but Henry catches him in a bear hug and holds it.
Taker gets flipped to the outside and Henry gets pulled after him. Henry goes face first into the safety rail but reverses Taker and throws him into the wall as well. Henry rolls into the ring to break the referee's 10 count and goes back outside after Taker.
Henry scoops him up, trying to run him into the turnbuckle post but he gets countered and shoves into the post himself. Taker rams Henry's head into the casket, and rolls him back into the ring. Back in the ring and Henry catches Taker in a big body slam followed by a splash, and another splash. Henry tells the ref to open the casket and goes to drag Taker into it. Taker catches him and locks him in his new Triangle choke hold.
Taker holds the submission for a few seconds before letting off. Henry is down. Taker kicks Henry under the bottom rope and into the casket which is open to win the match. Mark Henry looked to be bleeding from the mouth.
Winner: The Undertaker
After the match, The Undertaker looks up at the WrestleMania banner and poses in the darkness as we go to commercial.
- Back from commercial and we see Floyd Mayweather backstage in his dressing room with several members of his entourage. We cut to a video of several boxing personalities commenting on the match at WrestleMania.
- We see Triple H backstage who says he lives to be WWE Champion. He says last year he was supposed to face Cena at WrestleMania but he didn't because he was injured. Triple H talks about winning the WWE Title last year but losing it and says he will take back what is his at WrestleMania. He says he will fight for the WWE Title like his life depends on it, because it does to him. He tells Cena and Orton it's Game On and we go back to commercial.
- Back from commercial and Mr. Kennedy is making his way to the ring.
Mr. Kennedy vs. Finlay
Finlay comes to the ring next with weapon in hand as usual. JBL comes on the video screen before the match and says hold up and says since Finlay has accepted his match for WrestleMania as a Belfast Brawl, that's terrific. JBL says he will put Finlay in a hospital bed right next to his son, Hornswoggle. The match starts and Finlay just stops and stares at his shillelah.
Finlay starts attacking Kennedy with the shillelah and they go outside. Finlay continues to brutally attack Kennedy and eventually they make it back in the ring, where he continues the attack until the referees finally pull Kennedy away. Finlay just snapped and he comes back after Kennedy who is being led away by the referees. Finlay continues the attack on Kennedy with the shillelah, laying him out with a vicious head shot. Finlay walks to the back as the referees tend to Mr. Kennedy, and we go back to commercial.
- Back from commercial and we see a promo on WWE's relationship with the Make a Wish Foundation and their new partnership with Raven Symone and 50 Wish Kids at this year's WrestleMania.
WWE Intercontinental Title Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Jericho
Jeff Hardy comes out for the match first. Jim Ross explains to us that this won't be a WrestleMania Rewind match, but it stems from what happened with Chris Jericho and Jeff Hardy on the Highlight Reel last week.
Hardy and Jericho lock up and get tangled in the ropes to start the match before breaking it up. Jericho slaps Hardy and they trade blows back and forth, brawling. Jericho takes Hardy down and they continue to brawl and beat on each other.
Hardy hits the double leg drop between Jericho's legs and gets a 2 count. Big boot by Jericho and he clotheslines Hardy over the top rope to the floor as we go back to commercial.
Back from commercial and Jericho is working on Hardy in the corner. Jericho misses a running splash and lands on the floor outside. Hardy comes with a sliding kick and knocks Jericho back down. Hardy runs the guard rail and leaps at Jericho, but gets caught and Jericho slams his head down on the announcers table with a sick thud. Hardy looks to be hurt. Jericho brings him in the ring, hits a springboard move and gets only a 2 count.
Jericho drops Hardy's back over his knee and applies pressure, wearing him down. Hardy rakes his eyes but Jericho fires back with more punishment. Jericho chokes Hardy on the ropes, despite the referee's counts. The crowd rallies behind Hardy for a moment and he takes Jericho down with a running lariat. Hardy and Jericho hit a series of counters and Hardy hits a Whisper in the Wind but only gets a 2 count.
Northern Lights suplex by Y2J gets a 2 count followed by 2 counts by both wrestlers. Jericho goes up top and hits a cross body on Hardy but Hardy rolls him in the pin attempt for a 2 count. Y2J blocks the Twist of Fate and hits a Lionsault for a very close 2 count.
Jericho is frustrated as he pounds on Hardy some more. Jericho counters a suplex by Hardy and locks him in a half way Walls of Jericho which Hardy turns into a 2 count on Y2J. Twist of Fate lays out Jericho but he misses the Swanton Bomb from the top rope as Jericho rolls out of the way. Jericho hits the Codebreaker on Hardy for the pinfall!
Winner and new WWE Intercontinental Champion: Chris Jericho
- Backstage we see Nikolai Volkoff and Iron Sheik making their way to the ring for a WrestleMania 1 rematch.
WrestleMania 1 Rematch: The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff vs. Barry Windham and Mike "IRS" Rotundo; The US Express
Lilian Garcia says that Mr. Volkoff wants everyone to stand as he sings the Soviet National Anthem, which he does, and gets booed heavily for. Out next is Rotundo and Windham, waving the American flag.
Jillian Hall comes out and says she wasn't even born at WrestleMania 1, but she knows her history and knows the US Express came out to the song Born in the USA. She says they can't afford the rights to the song because they're has beens, so she sings Born in the USA, which gets more boos.
Mike Rotundo scoops Jillian on his shoulders, spins her around in an airplane spin and she rolls out of the ring, makes her exit as the US Express' music hits. It looks like the match isn't going to happen as we cut to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler talking about the Hall of Fame.
- We cut to Mike Adamle who introduces the WWE Hall of Fame so far this year. Tonight's inductees will be The Brisco Brothers, Jack and Jerry Brisco. We cut to a video package highlighting the Brisco's careers.
- Back from commercial and we cut to a video package showing off Big Show's skills and strength. We see him destroying various WWE Superstars over his WWE career.
- We cut to a video of WrestleMania in 1999 with Triple H vs. Kane, which Triple H won. Kane is backstage looking at the video when Randy Orton walks up. Orto hypes up Kane, reminding him that Triple H unmasked him and done other things to him over the years. Kane grabs Orton by his throat and says when it comes to Triple H, he doesn't need a history lesson because he remembers everything. Kane lets go of Orton's neck and walks off as Orton regains his composure. Kane vs. Triple H is next as we go back to commercial.
WrestleMania 15 Rematch: Triple H vs. Kane
The Game comes out first for his match with SmackDown Superstar Kane. Lilian Garcia introduces Triple H, he does his usual entrance and we get ready for Kane to make his way to the RAW ring.
As Triple H is posing for the fans and doing his introduction, the pyro hits and out comes Kane. Triple H backs Kane in the corner and hits him with a right hand but Kane grabs Triple H by his neck and throws him into the corner and goes to town with punches. More shots from Kane and a big clothesline knocks The Game down.
Kane keeps pounding on Triple H in the corner until The Game fights back with right hands. Kane slingshots Triple H over the top turnbuckle and onto the floor. On the outside now, Kane sends Triple H head first into the announcers table and keeps control of Triple H. HHH counters and slings Kane into the ring post face first. Both men get back in the ring.
Triple H drops elbows on Kane's neck, which is on the edge of the ring apron. Back on their feet now in the ring, Kane catches Triple H with a big boot off the ropes. Scoop slam followed by a kick to the face by Kane and a 2 count. Two big running clotheslines in the corner by Kane. Triple H catches him with a big spinebuster and both men are down.
Both men get to their feet and Triple H lands a series of right hands and a facebuster on Kane, who is still standing. Triple H goes for the Pedigree but gets countered and slammed on his back. Kane calls for the chokeslam as Randy Orton makes his way out to watch. Triple H counters the shokeslam and goes for the Pedigree until he sees Randy Orton and gets caught off guard by a side slam by Kane.
Kane comes off the top rope but gets caught by a kick to the stomach and the Pedigree by Triple H for the win. Orton and Triple H stare each other down as Triple H's music hits. Orton stares at his WWE Title as The Game poses in the ring and we go back to commercial.
Winner: Triple H
- Back from commercial and John Cena is on video talking about what WrestleMania means to him. He mentions how he was injured and how he risked his career coming back early, just to get a shot at being WWE Champion and being at WrestleMania.
Melina vs. Maria
Melina comes to the ring with Beth Phoenix at her side. Melina says she wanted to beat Ashley tonight after their WrestleMania 23 match last year, but Ashley is injured. She says instead of having a WrestleMania rematch tonight, we will have a WrestleMania prematch. Out comes Maria who has Candice with her.
Melina and Maria lock up, and go back and forth in a typical Divas match. Santino Marella makes his way out with Maria's Playboy in hand. Santino gets on the apron and distracts Maria, ripping her Playboy up. Melina comes from behind and hits her leg drop finishing move for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Melina
After the match, Candice gets in the ring to help Maria but gets knocked out by Beth Phoenix. Santino Marella poses with Maria and Beth Phoenix, raising their hand in victory, then leaving with them as Candice tends to Maria in the ring.
- We cut to a video showing the events leading up to the Big Show and Floyd Mayweather fight at WrestleMania. We see Mayweather in his house, counting $1 million dollars and showing off his mansion, Cribs style. Up next is the official weigh in with Show and Mayweather.
- Back from commercial and Shane McMahon is coming to the ring for the weigh-in. The ring has a black apron over it and a large scale.
Big Show and Floyd Mayweather's WrestleMania Weigh-In
First, Shane introduces Big Show as the first man to hold the ECW, WWE and World Heavyweight Championships. Out comes Show, dressed to wrestle.
Shane and Show shake hands and 50 Cent's "I Get Money" blasts and out comes the current WBC welterweight Champion, Floyd "Money" Mayweather. Floyd has an entourage of about 10 people with him it looks like.
Floyd and his entourage get in the ring and Shane McMahon reminds them that this is the weigh-in, so respect the rules. Floyd steps up to the scale first, takes his many chains off but steps back down and taunts at the crowd. Floyd steps back up and weighs in at 159 pounds.
Big Show is asked to step on the scale and he weighs in at 441 pounds. Shane asks them to come together for a photo op and Show gets on the mic. Show says he sees Floyd has brought along his posse, and now he would like to bring out his posse. Out comes several WWE stars including Big Daddy V, Carlito, Mr. Kennedy, Shelton Benjamin, Chuck Palumbo, Snitsky, Hardcore Holly, Cade, Murdoch and several others. The WWE stars surround the ring as Floyd and his crew make a commotion in the ring. Show says he told him nobody in the WWE locker room liked Floyd, and they all wanted to come down and see the $20 million man. Show tells Floyd he's in the shark tank now. Show tells Floyd to throw some money to the fans so they will like him, or throw some to those dogs with him so they keep pretending to be his friend. Show says there will be two scenarios: he takes pity on Floyd and lets him live to fight another day, or the other scenario: Floyd continues to disrespect him and Show guarantees that he never boxes again.
Show asks him what will it be, shoves the mic in his chest and calls him a little runt. Floyd takes the mic and the crowd breaks out in "YOU SUCK" chants. Floyd hops up on the turnbuckle, pulls out a wad of money and approaches Big Show. Floyd says yeah, he is the $20 million man and starts flinging dollars at Big Show. Floyd says he respects what Show has done in WWE, but he don't respect him as a human being. The crowd says "WHAT?" after everything he says. Floyd says it's possible Show will hurt him, but he has to catch him first. Big Show picks up the dollars and hands them to some of the WWE Superstars at ringside. Floyd says at WrestleMania 24, he will break Big Show's jaw. Floyd's music hits again as his group begins to leave until Big Show grabs him, lifts him over his head and launches him to the floor, ontop of several WWE Superstars. Floyd's entourage and the WWE stars get into a shoving match on the floor. Floyd's reps help him to the back, as he holds his arm, looking hurt. The large group of people begin to go towards the back, and somewhere in the commotion Shane McMahon gets knocked to the floor. The WWE stars help Shane up as the two groups continue arguing to the back and we go to commercial.
- Back from commercial and Randy Orton is on video talking about why he is the perfect WWE Champion. He brings up the various qualities of Triple H and John Cena and says when you combine all of those attributes into one person, you get Randy Orton. The only difference is, he has one thing that neither does, the WWE Championship.
WrestleMania Rematch: Edge vs. CM Punk
The World Heavyweight Champion Edge comes out with Ryder and Hawkins at his side. We go to a short commercial and CM Punk comes out afterwards.
Edge and Punk start the match up, with Edge in control. Edge keeps Punk grounded with kicks to the head.
Punk fights back and manages to get a 2 count on Edge. Edge misses a spear in the ropes and gets caught by two big kicks from Punk. Top rope move by Punk gets hi another 2 count on Edge. Running knee in the corner on Edge by Punk, but CM gets dropped by a DDT.
Edge misses another spear but Punk gets distracted by Ryder and Hawkins, which lets Edge get the spear, the pinfall and the win over CM Punk.
Winner: Edge
- Back from commercial and William Regal is in the ring. Regal talks about the SmackDown vs. RAW match at WrestleMania and shows us a promo video for RAW's representative, Umaga.
Back from the video and Regal introduces the Samoan Bulldozer Umaga, who makes his way to the ring. Regal tells Umaga that he pity's Batista and in the middle of him talking, Batista's music hits and out comes The Animal, dressed in street clothes.
Batista's pyro hits and Umaga gets pumped in the ring. The SmackDown Superstar makes his way in the ring as he and Umaga size each other up. Batista takes his shades off and hits Umaga with a big right hand. The two trade lefts and rights until Umaga drops Batista with a Samoan Spike. Batista blocks another Samoan Spike and drops Umaga on his back with a spinebuster. Regal and the referees guide an irate Umaga to the back as Batista looks on from the ring.
- We see a promo for Vince McMahon being honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood, CA this Friday morning at 11:30 AM.
- Jim Ross says Floyd Mayweather's elbow was injured in the attack from Big Show at the weigh-in earlier. Ross doesn't have anymore details, but he can confirm that Floyd is injured.
WrestleMania 23 Rematch: Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena
Michaels comes out first for this match with John Cena.
Cena and Michaels lock it up and go back and forth to start the match, with arm locks and a test of strength.
Cena over powers Michaels and hits a clothesline but gets tripped up into a front headlock. HBK grounds Cena on the mat, as he tries to reach the ropes and break the hold. HBK hits Cena in the head with knee thrusts as he holds Cena's neck down.
They finally get back to their feet and HBK hits a shoulder block, knocking his opponent down but Cena ends up locking HBK in the STFU but only for a split second as Michaels made it to the ropes. HBK rolls out to the floor to regain his composure as we go back to commercial.

Back from commercial and Cena has HBK's arm locked up. Off the ropes and HBK drops him with a swinging neck breaker. HBK hits Cena with a few knife chops but Cena fights back with right hands, then lefts, followed by two shoulder blocks knocking HBK down. HBK catches Cena and throws him over the top rope.
Back in the ring now and Michaels uses a Flair move and goes after Cena's knee from behind. Michaels continues to work on the knee of John Cena, keeping him on the mat. HBK goes on to lock the Figure Four on Cena but Cena counters it for a 2 count. Cena goes for the FU but his leg gives out and HBK slides out, taking another shot at his knee.
HBK gets caught up on the turnbuckle, as he always does, and Cena comes up and kicks him high into the air. Clotheslines by Cena followed by a big back body drop. The crowd begins to boo Cena heavily. Cena tells HBK he can't see him and drops the Five Knuckle Shuffle on HBK. HBK gets and counters the FU for a 2 count, but Cena counters that with another 2 count.
Both men go down after a back drop by Cena. Michaels is up first and hits a nasty knife chop on Cena in the corner. Big clothesline by Michaels and both men are down again. Flying forearm by HBK followed by an inverted atomic drop and another on Cena. Scoop slam and HBK goes to the top rope for the elbow drop. HBK nails the flying elbow on Cena and gets ready for some Sweet Chin Music.
Cena ducks the Sweet Chin Music and trips HBK into an STFU attempt but HBK rolls out of it. HBK locks on the inverted Figure Four leg lock on John Cena in the center of the ring and puts the pressure on. Cena tries to get to the ropes and finally makes it as Michaels is forced to break the hold.
HBK baseball slides Cena to the floor and nails the moonsault off the ropes, to the floor ontop of Cena. They get to their feet finally and trade blows until HBK shoves Cena into the ringpost. Right after Cena hits the post, Randy Orton lays out Shawn Michaels and throws Cena in the ring. Orton grabs a chair, brings it in the ring and goes to RKO Cena onto it but gets dropped on the chair as Cena counters it. Cena picks Orton up and lays him out with the FU. We see Triple H backstage watching the match as Cena's music plays.
Triple H says it's been fun watching RAW with Orton and Cena in charge, but next week he is in charge. He announces John Cena and Randy Orton will be teaming up next week on RAW to face the entire RAW roster. That's right, John Cena and Randy Orton vs. the RAW roster next week. Cena poses for the fans as RAW goes off the air.
