WWE To Report 2014 Second Quarter Earnings Later This Month; WWE Network Update Expected

WWE announced on Thursday they will report their Second Quarter earnings for 2014 on Thursday, July 31, 2014 before market open. Later in the morning, Vince McMahon and Chief Financial Officer George Barrios will host a conference call with investors at 11 AM ET.

The date is significant for a number of reasons but none more important than we will get an updated number of subscribers to the WWE Network. WWE announced on April 7, 2014 the WWE Network had 667,287 subscribers and reassured the public they were well on their way to their target of 1 million domestic subscribers before the end of the year.

The number will be more than 667,287 as initial subscriptions aren’t set to expire until on Sunday, August 24, 2014. Remember, to subscribe to WWE Network in the initial signup period, you had to agree to 6-month commitment.

We’ll be on the call later this month and will provide exclusive live coverage.

I’m actually more interested in the PPV buyrate figures to see how that is faring now. The next time they announce numbers for network subscribers will be much more important

    • Avalanchian

Yup if that bad boy drops then so are lots of jobs.

      • Bob’s Diner

They already got rid of the main guy behind the network – will be interesting to see who they try and throw under the bus if these next announcements don’t show lots of growth

        • Avalanchian

Oh I meant more wrestlers will see their jobs gone. People like Ryder and a couple others who simply show up once every other month to get squashed.

          • Bob’s Diner

Ah yes good point. Very good point.
Heath Slater could soon be free to join the rest of his 3MB…

1.3 million is what they got.. I would bet 100 dollars on it.. Who is with me?

    • Bob’s Diner

I am so NOT with you. You really truthfully think they DOUBLED their subscriptions in the last 3 months? What do you base that on? Seriously – what do you think was more of a draw than WrestleMania?

      • Charlie Crimefighter Hovey

We don’t know when they got that 667,000 number.. It could have been two weeks before mania.. We don’t know when it was counted..

        • Bob’s Diner

I imagine they have real-time numbers and that number was about as up-to-date as possible, otherwise they would have touted a much larger number of people watching WrestleMania.

Again, I ask you – what do you think would cause another 600,000 people to order the network in the last 3 months? I am genuinely curious

BTW if they had reached the goal of 1 million, pretty sure they wouldn’t be making the whole thing free for a week to entice more customers
