WWE Royal Rumble Results (1/26/14) – Batista Is Going To Wrestlemania

Renee Young is backstage with the new WWE Tag Team Champions, the New Age Outlaws. Road Dogg says Renee needs a little work on that intro, and he does his usual spiel. We get a re-cap of how the Outlaws won the belts (for the first time since 1999!). Renee says history was made. Road Dogg says 14 years between title reigns is a WWE record. The Rhodes brothers found out what the rest of the world knew all along, the Outlaws do tag team wrestling better than anyone else. Dogg says they’ve got an after party to go to, and Renee isn’t invited. He tells Billy to give her the two words, and Billy screams ‘new champs!’

We get a video package with a lot of superstars explaining why they’ll be the ones to win the Rumble match. Participants include the Miz, the Uso’s, Big E Langston, Fandango, Batista (who just says ‘exactly’), Damien Sandow, Ryback, and Rey Mysterio. Basically, it’s just everyone’s chance to get a bit of face time on camera and brag on themselves.

Things go up to the expert’s panel when Josh Matthews asks for their selections. Hacksaw says in 1988, there were a lot of guys favored to win, and Hacksaw wasn’t, so he’s going to pick someone unexpected, and he’ll pick Dolph Ziggler. Shawn Michaels picks the Shield, or CM Punk, to get 4 picks. Ric Flair picks Batista, and tells the crowd to learn to love it.

We get a brief rundown of the rules of the match, and it’s time to begin as CM Punk makes his way to the ring as entrant #1.

Punk’s first opponent is none other than Seth Rollins.

    Quick Picks:
    Batista (out of the announced)

    Orton
    Lesnar
    D-Bry
    NAO

Actually, I expect most predictions to be like this.

  • http://www.facebook.com/WrestlingRoundupRadio Joshua Tucker

    Predictions
    Rumble: Bryan
    Orton
    Lesnar
    Wyatt
    NAO

  • KingKongBrody

Anybody know if the Sting rumors are true I heard he’s in pittsburgh

    • DanJackson

Haven’t heard anything but I was thinking of adding Sting to my list above. I just wasn’t sure if his contract was completely up or not.

      • Tim

Imagine the roar if taker is cleaning house in the rumble. Then lights out. Sting is behind taker.

        • ldb

The roof would blow off setting up a killer wrestlemania. For everyone that downs Sting when he doesn t come over they would pop if he did it.

          • Tim

If it happen it would be the same as most taker matchs at mania. He gets his ass kicked for the majority to sit up and win.

  • DanJackson

Anyone have any predictions on surprise RR entrants? I could see Hogan or Jake the Snake being in there. Not sure if anyone has mentioned them being in Pittsburgh or not but I could see either one being surprise entrants.

  • BlazeKing

Wow… not a fan of that outcome.

    • Xavier

Me neither. The Rhodes looked really weak losing to a pair of guys in their late 40s/early 50s clean at that. The match was pretty short as well

      • Tim

But at least they can still go.

      • Carlos Aponte Jr

Im a bit late w/ my response. I, too, was disappointed with that match. I didn’t mind the outcome, I just wish it went longer. Rhodes Brothers have been putting on lengthy matches on RAW & Smackdown for the past two months.

  • opie

Call me crazy, but I’m picking Ziggler to win the Rumble.

    • Stephen Cash

      Crazy

      • opie

        I know :(

    • Tim

      Ok hacksaw

  • David Jr.

With Bryan vs. Wyatt starting out the Rumble PPV, makes it look possible for Bryan being a surprise entrance in the Rumble match itself.

    • Andrew

i think that whats going to happen but we’ll see

  • Xavier

Anyone else thinking Paige may debut as a Wyatt in this match?

    • David Jr.

Keep her as Paige or make her Sister Abigail?

      • Xavier

        Possibly

  • K!NG

    Love brays style

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

    Wow What a match

  • Xavier

Great way too kick off the Rumble. Brady’s mannerisms are priceless.

    • Navin T. Ramkissoon

The crowd is really into this match too.

  • K!NG

    Bray is the man!

  • Tim

Match of the night just hope reddit isn’t right about the others.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

We may get Bray vs Bryan at Elimination Chamber as well. But hats off to both men. Great Great Match

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

Great opener! Bray could be a making of a superstar. I really liked this match. Great amount of time invested. Well-done!

  • Stephen Cash

Bray’s ring work has gotten way better!!!!

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

This was his first major showing I’d have to say. The Summerslam match w/ Kane was a downer then again he might have been limited due to the gimmick.

  • Matt

Wow so far not the greatest outcomes how was the db/Wyatt match quality wise

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

I thought it was a great match. They were a good 20+ minutes. Great showing by both.

  • Stephen Cash

NAO win means a possible Cody vs Goldust WM MATCH

  • Tim

Almost as worse as the last meeting at royal rumble between these two. But it was at least semi entertaining.

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

IDK. I think I expected more but maybe I shouldn’t have.

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

Brock v. Big Show – TWO THUMBS DOWN! It was barely a match.

I kinda expected more. Despite their big sizes, they can perform a good match. Tonight they did not.

    • Xavier

From what I’ve heard Big Show hurt his hand yesterday. That could be why this match was booked the way it was.

      • Jon Hockey

He could still make some sort of match with a hurt hand surely, kurt angle made a great match against lesnar a few years back with a bad neck or back injury

    • JR Texx (Jamie)

I liked it, it came over as Lesnar a dominating individual which the WWE should have done from the start, it was quick and it didn’t drag on, and they could easily write big show off down to injury for a while, come back and possible have a rematch.

      • Carlos Aponte Jr

Good point there. I have to agree with you. I have a different perspective now. Brock looked like a monster last night. If that was the intentions, it was well delivered.

        • JR Texx (Jamie)

and now he’s just followed it up by attacking Goldust and Cody.

This is why they should have Brock like this from the start.

I hope they put him in the EC..

  • Tim

Does Brock lesnar have a tramp stamp

  • Stephen Cash

I like what they did with Lesnar vs Show. Makes Lesnar look strong… And they will both be in the elimination chamber. Orton (champ) vs Cena vs show vs Lesnar vs Batista vs Punk

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

Lesnar did look strong but I wish we had a “match” to show for it as well.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

That was a weak showing in Lesnar vs Show.

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

      I agree

  • ldb

Brock sucks donkey turds! That was a terrible match go back to ufc and get beat again by the real Cain. Big Show deserves better booking as did mark henry. Henry should have squashed brock. Screw these part time wantabes. Lets try pushing oh I don’t know a full time face that will stay with you.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

I think WWE is booking Brock weakly because they want to push the notion that their product is better than UFC’s. In a legit fight that is not booked by WWE Creative Lesnar can take down anyone on the roster.

  • Andrew

i reallly hope something shocking happens tonight like a return or something

  • Tim

I use to like Randy’s theme but it’s grown old. I would love his previous one to return.

  • Stephen Cash

I love Randy Orton!!!! I hope he holds the title till Mania, and then loses it only if he is facing Bryan

  • Tim

Bathroom break. Lol hopefully it’s a good match. Just happy to see they didn’t feel it needed to main event. Like I was expecting.

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

I love this crowd. Let’s see how they react after the Rumble Match

  • BlazeKing

Randy’s face during the “Randy Savage” chant was priceless! He’s like “I see what you did there”.

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

      What’s behind that chant?

      • Tim

His name is randy and he is a savage

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

The Crowd are not into this match at all. Take the hint WWE Creative. TAKE THE HINT

    • Xavier

Actually they are into it. Silence speaks louder then forced chants

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

And you said the crowd is not into this match? They popped for Cena’s AA and the count.

      • Jonathan Salcido

I wouldn’t call the “we want divas” chant as an “into it” chant. Just saying.

        • Tim

Of course randy posed during the chant. Considering he’s the biggest diva.

  • Tim

Highlights of the title match -just the crowd

  • disqus_HZkhbeFufx

@richardgrey. The website is doing that pop up ad shite again and the app keeps booting me into the App Store. For the love of god will you put a stop to this and have a word with your advertising developers.

  • ryan2506

this crowd is greeeat! daniel bryan and Y2J chants immediately as it begins, followed by boring and same old thing chants at randy n cena… Then more DB chants. Chanting the truth!!

  • K!NG

Good match going on w these two

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

      Yea I agree.

      • Carlos Aponte Jr

Randy is acting superb as the dominant heel.

  • Tim

I’ve seen the great khali with better promos than this match

    • Stephen Cash

This is a really good match…

      • Tim

The crowd that’s about it. They even realized. How bad it was. They needed to do the finisher kick after finisher kick out

    • Jim

Tim u were saving that line since orton vs cena was announced so for trying to be a smart guy im gonna unlike your comment p.s its not cenas fault he sucks

      • Tim

Actually no they have had good well decent matchs before. Cena doesn’t suck if you had even a clue about wrestling you’d know that.

  • Austin

I’ve noticed WWE is getting really lazy with their PPV stage designs. They used to always be different but now they look exactly the same as Raw and Smackdown.

  • K!NG

    I like ortons sts

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

They have been given a decent amount of time and are actually carving out a good match.

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

      I agree!

    • Xavier

Fans never gave it a chance though. They started s****** on it from the get go. That’s why I said the chants were forced.

      • Tim

The chants were not really forced. No one was paying attention because we were listening to our own chants and watching the wave go around the arena. I don’t think the match was that bad, but most people who were at a house show for the last few weeks already saw basically the exact same match.

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

They’re doing each other’s finishing moves. Reminds me of the Austin v. Rock days. Classic.

  • Hank

    6 moves for cena now

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

    The Wyatt Family interfere!!!!!

  • Xavier

Interesting finish. Never saw that coming.

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

You & me both! Cena v. Bray, a new storyline?! It has potential, no?

      • Xavier

        Definitely

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Ahh so this is how they are setting up Bray vs Cena

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

Apparently. It has potential I have to say. This could elevate Bray into main event status. Especially after his match with Bryan. Now Cena can further Bray’s character.

  • K!NG

Really good match haters can hate

    • Stephen Cash

Orton is an amazing talent and so is Cena. Both are legends… People are just ignorant

  • Tim

I’m calling the elimination chamber will hold john cena, randy orton, cm punk , Daniel Bryan , bray Wyatt , Batista.

    • David Jr.

      Then who’s winning the Rumble?

      • Carlos Aponte Jr

And where does Lesnar fit into this?

      • Tim

Batista i can see him weezle his way in to both. See as how much of a spot light hog he is.

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

Time for the RUMBLE match! I look forward to this EVERY single year!!!!!

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

This is the first Rumble in a while I don’t know who I want to win the Rumble match. There aren’t many potentials I think :-

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

I am surprised that the Seth Rollins’ sign was not confiscated

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

    Rhodes Scholars reunion…. sort of

  • K!NG

    Poor idol stevens

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Kane. Will he go past Shawn’s Record?

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Guess not. Punk goes up to 2 elims

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

A debut in the rumble match. Interesting. Who is Rusev?!

    • Navin T. Ramkissoon

He is from NXT. He has been having some really good matches over the past few months. He can be a big deal once he is managed and handled properly

    • Navin T. Ramkissoon

He uses the Camel Clutch as his finisher. He has been and lost to Kofi on NXT in the past few weeks

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

Sandrow is still waiting outside the ring. I predict a swerve/interference of some kind.

  • Tim

Really the Kane / punk thing couldn’t have went on for longer. Kane deserves to have the most eliminations records.

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

What will Kofi do this year?!

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

He did it!!!!!! Love this kid!

      • Hayden Tyler

        that was awesome

  • Hayden Tyler

i cant get over the new guy

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

    Well Done Kofi

  • Xavier

    Kofi Kingston

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

Yup he does it every year.

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

The ring is getting packed. Somewhat. Someone will be entering soon and eliminating superstars.

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

      Shield just eliminated 2.

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

2011 it was Diesel. 2014 it is Kevin Nash. He looks great!

  • BlazeKing

We’ll probably end up seeing X-pac when it’s all said and done.

  • Xavier

And there’s the start of Cody/Goldust

    • Carlos Aponte Jr

I doubt it. I thought we’d see some kind of shuffle or something. I think they’re going to keep them as a team until after Wrestlemania.

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

Great seeing Sheamus back in the ring. He looks great!

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

Reigns is up to 5 eliminations including Khali? Or did I miss someone

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

What a waste of A Rumble Spot. No offense meant to Mascarita Dorado

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

    Well its official NO DB

  • Xavier

Opportunity wasted. I have a feeling a lot of fans will be demanding refunds.

  • Xavier

It’s ashamed the fans shi***** on Mysterio though

    • Tim

I don’t think it was much on him as it was more than Daniel Bryan wasn’t in the match

  • Navin T. Ramkissoon

    Final 4

  • Austin

Wow that’s really depressing. These fans are letting wwe hear it though

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

    FUDGE!!!!!!!! Kane eliminated Punk!

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

    Roman Reigns, Sheamus and Batista.

  • Xavier

    Lets Go Reigns!

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

Reigns set a record tonight! 12 eliminations!

  • Stephen Cash

Yeah Batista is going to win. No matter who wins it’s a big mistake

  • Carlos Aponte Jr

A great Rumble match I have to say. One of my favorites despite not wanting Batista to win.

  • Xavier

Gotta admit, I’m very disappointed in the booking of a lot of things tonight. Not a good sign when a former star returns and in only his 2nd appearance fans are already crapping on him.

    • BIG M

I know your probably going to disagree with me here but This horrifying turn of events does not inspire confidence in WWE’s future leaders Triple H and Stephanie McMahan does it.
I mean if anyone could convince VKM to push Bryan it would be them but obviously they are as blind as him as it relates to DB.

      • Xavier

I can’t say for sure. But I get the feeling that its more on Vince’s end. It’s almost like he knows he’s not the creative genus he use too be but is still having a really hard time handing over the Reigns completely which I understand in a way. I mean after all the success he’s had and how he transcended wrestling. He’s reached that senile Jerry Jones/Al Davis stage in his life.

        • BIG M

          Who knows anymore.
But honestly I don’t think Triple H and Stephanie are right for the job and maybe your right VKM has finally lost his edge but if today is any indication we should be worried about WWE’s future.
But on the other hand I’ve been talking to Nostaljack while I’ve been talking to you and he seems to think this is all an elaborate work and VKM is still brilliant.
Like I said above who knows anymore.

          • Xavier

True. But I don’t want too completely write off Triple H & Steph, because Triple H has focused a lot of time & energy on stocking the FCW roster and building a brand new gym facility and has rebuilt a lot of bridges with guys that Vince burned. And we must remember with Vince that this dude caught lightning in a bottle twice (Hulkamania & The Attitude Era). You know how many wrestling promoters can say they’ve turned water into wine twice? The answer is none. I’m let down by tonight’s PPV for sure and it’s not just b/c Bryan didn’t win because truth be told no one on here has the right to fly off the deep in on the WWE because Bryan wasn’t promoted for the Rumble to begin with so we all really need to step back and check ourselves a little. I guess we just have to wait and see how EC shapes up

          • BIG M

True we are over reacting a fair bit.
Who knows Bryan might win the title at chamber and face Batista at Mania.

      • JR Texx (Jamie)

I think it’s safe to say that the Bryan/Wyatt feud is over, so who knows.. might even get a Bryan/Hunter for wrestlemania, I am still convinced that Hunter wants himself on that card, and it looks like it could be Punk/Kane. So who knows.

        • GOR

DB n Cena vs Wyatts for Chqamber PPV.

  • Tim

Can’t wait for the wwe network so I can stop wasting so much money on this crap. I’ll just read reddit. I mean he was right about them all. Wwe always send their fans home unhappy. Everybody booed Batista.

  • Stephen Cash

Batista has always been a bore… And no matter who won if it wasn’t DB we were all going to be disappointed…. DB should have won. He deserves the WM main event… Why can’t anyone in WWE see that?

    • Andrew

      they are so stupid smh

    • Scottyo614

That’s what happens when a B- talent stars in a C world. Oh wait that was Batistas thoughts on Del Rio not himself

  • Tim

I bet Batista said only if I headline wrestlemania I’ll return. I mean what did he headline two years in a row on the smack down ppvs in a row.

  • David Jr.

With Batista winning, my thinking of getting the WWE Network has now drastically decreased.

  • Stephen Cash

    I’m so over part timers

    • Chris

Don’t worry! Batista has a 2 year contract!!!

      • JR Texx (Jamie)

The crowd are sick of him after 2 appearances. never mind 2 years.

But it was nice to see the tight jeans return.

  • Alex Gallardo

I wasn’t able to join you all for the watch party but what were your thoughts on tonight’s show?

    • Stephen Cash

      HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT, but expected….

    • The Breaker

I was actually fine with everything that happened up until the Rumble match outcome.

  • Andrew

how do you put el toritto in the rumble over someone like daniel bryan or whoever smh

  • Stephen Cash

Wonder how mad Batista is that everyone booed him and could care less about him. WM this is year going to suck like it did last year…. And this year had soooo much potential

    • opie

WM will be great. The main event at WM, however…

  • Stephen Cash

I really have no idea why DB didn’t win or enter… Does WWE not want to sell WM?

  • The Breaker

Batista wins. I’m beyond disgusted. Like I said before, it’s the age of the part-timers. The last two years it was The Rock, and now it’s Batista. And while Rock might not have had the best ending to his latest run, Batista is still no Rock. So why the heck are they booking him like he is?

    • John

Batista is not part time, he has a full time 2 year contract with WWE. But i agree it was predictable but at the same time had his return not leaked and they didn’t bring him back last week on RAW then everyone would be saying “wow Batista’s back” and getting excited. it sucks that WWE couldn’t switch it up when they knew everyone could see it coming but they promised Batista the WrestleMania title match so what could they do?

      • The Breaker

The main point is that he’s not the future of the company. And saying that he needed the surprise to get his pop is a lame excuse. If he’s such a huge star then he’d get it anyway. Whether a guy is booked to appear or not, the moment he comes out his real fans will react. But what we saw last Monday was pretty underwhelming, and that says a lot.

    • David Jr.

I don’t attend to get mad about wrestling, because hell it’s just entertainment. But tonight, I got mad.

      • The Breaker

TPTB are morons. Bryan is over like no one else over the last decade. That includes Batista. Why not give him his moment?

        • Alex Gallardo

You just have to wonder what went through Vince’s mind when he made this decision.

          • The Breaker

Batista’s belly button tattoo or something.

  • Stephen Cash

I hope there is MITB at WM, DB wins and cashes in on Orton!!!! That night

  • K!NG

    Good show.despite the crowd

    • Bob’s Diner

I think you mean terrible show despite the crowd

  • Alex Gallardo

BTW in case you guys missed the Grammy award show tonight to watch the Royal Rumble, I HIGHLY recommend watching Beyonce’s performance.

  • kingdook24

Wow. I’m so done with WWE. This PPV clearly shows that they do NOT care about making new stars.

    Bryan loses. Again.
The fans are chanting Daniel Bryan during EVERY match.
The fans are chanting BORING, THIS IS AWFUL, UNDERTAKER, WE WANT ANGLE, YES, NO throughout the Cena/Orton match.
The last entrant in the Rumble, Rey Mysterio, was CHEERED when being eliminated.
The fans were booing the FINAL three superstars in the Ring.

Then, WWE had a chance to save this PPV with letting Reigns win, only to let Batista, ANOTHER former champion & part-timer, win.

The fans were actually booing the last 10-20 minutes of the Rumble.

    I’m just done.

    • Stephen Cash

I’m disappointed with the show, but Cena vs Orton was very good

    • K!NG

Besides batista winning the rr they are pushing new stars

      • kingdook24

Having Cena/Orton Part 5,259,762 and Batista, after fours years gone – and just so happens to get #28 in the Rumble, and WIN it, doesn’t seem like pushing new stars to me.

        • JR Texx (Jamie)

Reigns got a new record and Bray Wyatt won..

      • Jonathan Salcido

You can’t qualify returning stars or part time stars as “new stars”. The Outlawz, Lesnar, Bautista, and Orton were all winners. I don’t see a new star there. Yes, Wyatt won and beat up Cena, but he wasn’t even involved in the rumble match. His crew, who somehow were placed in the match, looked weak and didn’t even make an impact in the rumble. Hell, at least El Torrito had one elimination!!!!

        • RKM_13

It doesn’t qualify as making an impact, but I counted two eliminations from Luke Harper.

  • Peteya56

WWE really needs to start listening to their “Universe”…The crowd booing the end of the rumble, is NOT good for business…

    • Alex Gallardo

They won’t, but then again, that’s not something really new. This whole Batista return has been a mess.

    • John

Fans have wanted Daniel Bryan to be the champion for 6 months now, WWE doesn’t care.

  • David F.

WWE give fans what they want Bryan v Batista at EC with Bryan going over

  • Stephen Cash

I want to start a boycott Raw party… But it wouldn’t matter because I don’t have a Nielsen box

    • Alex Gallardo

Well, we could at least boycott buying WM.

  • King A sshole

Tonight proved to me that the only reason I’m still watch this crap, is because of the Streak. When Taker’s gone, I see no reason to keep watching.

    • Alex Gallardo

At this point I only watch wrestling for the occasional good story and just out of habit.

  • kingdook24

WWE’s most OVER superstar, Daniel Bryan… LOSES, and isn’t even in the Rumble.

I’m just done. We’ve gone through this so many PPVs. I just don’t understand why they won’t shoot this man to the moon. This is who the fans want. They don’t want Batista. They don’t want Sheamus. I’m a Cena guy, but even I’m like, yo, we need new blood. I’m beyond done with Orton.

I mean, just look at the evidence. The fans were booing the final 10-20 of one of WWE’s main four PPVs. I’m not trying to sound like a DB fanboy, but let’s face the music – the dude is over like crazy, and they just keep shoving Cena, Orton and now Batista in our faces. I like these guys and all, but we need newer guys to shine. Kofi was AMAZING tonight… CM Punk was BEYOND robbed tonight… even ROMAN REIGNS got the shaft tonight.

    I’m just done.

    • Chris

Roman Reigns set a record that will stand for years and he ‘got the shaft’?

Batista has been back for a week…Did you expect him not to win?

Punk is clearly in to a feud with Corporate Kane and the Authority and was never going to be in the title picture heading to WM30, especially with only one world title.

Stop sulking because you didn’t get the outcome you wanted from one show!

  • Thomas M

Anyone notice cole about to announce something, possibly bryan entering as a number 31 and just stopped? Shows how last minute wwe are, I presume this is what it was about.

    • Thomas M.

You are giving us “Thomas M”s a bad name with rubbish like that.

    • Chris

      No

  • Tim

I’m calling Batista wins the tilt at ec. Then at wm him and HHH face theirselfs in a tag match. Were they both have a double count out. Seeing how they both won’t lose.

  • Lebron James

Honestly, the WWE deserves severe backlash after tonight. I hope everyone joins me in not watching RAW on t.v. Watch it online through one of those streaming sites. Fk giving them ratings. They dont deserve it. That was complete bullsht. I like Batista, but he had no business winning that rumble. Should’ve been Punk, Bryan, Cesaro, or any of the shield guys. Way to disappoint an entire fan base. That was pathetic. Not watching them on t.v until I feel they are giving the fans what they want. No surprise entrants besides nash and that umaga wannabe?

Just horrible. Besides the opener, that was a train wreck. If you bought that crap I hope you get a refund.

    • kingdook24

I want my 3 hours back & I streamed it.

    • Joe Dee

Awful PPV. But condoning the classless behavior of Pittsburgh’s stay-at-home sons is no better. Narcissistic crowds are hurting the product. If you want y our voices heard, then don’t buy PPVs or tickets until WWE delivers the product that you want.

    • Tim

No, the crowd didn’t hurt the PPV. What hurt the PPV was the terrible booking. You book like crap, then the crowd will crap on you.

      • JR Texx (Jamie)

The crowd was fine for most of the PPV, they killed the end of the rumble.

        • Tim

Can’t blame the crowd for terrible booking.

          • JR Texx (Jamie)

I thought the booking was fine, yes it as bad that they didn’t involve Bryan in the Rumble, but there was no reason for the crowd to boo from when Mysterio entered to the end of the rumble, the was one positive chat after that “Roman Reigns” that was it. the mood of the entire show changed as Mysterio came out.

          • Mysterion

When I’m disgruntled I often cheer as well. They were pissed off. They weren’t booing Rey. More booing the bullshit they we’re being fed.

          • JR Texx (Jamie)

I didn’t say they was booing Rey, I said they was booing from when Mysterio entered.

    • M.C Elroy

A refund for what? I’m sorry, but requesting a refund because your favorite superstar failed to win the match is pathetic. It was obvious Batista was going to win. Everyone was rooting for Jericho to win the rumble when he returned, then there was an uproar when WWE put Sheamus over. What makes Batista any different than Jericho? Oh, I know. It is because he is not an IWC guy. My bad.

      • Lebron James

It’s called exaggeration you pile of cancer. You’re obviously not going to get a refund for buying the PPV. What I was trying to say is that the show sucked just enough balls, to where if I could, I’d get my money back. Is that clear, sweetheart? Show wasn’t worth free viewing, let alone 50+ bucks.

        • MC Elroy

Looks like we have a self-centered and imperious commentator on our hands. Shame on me for not being able to detect exaggeration in a subjective comment on a message board! All I did was disagree with your justified opinion. Pile of cancer? Haha. As far as I’m concerned, the only “cancer” here are your petty and nefarious taunts. Sounds like you might have some self-security issues. Get your head checked jack and step off your high horse. We’re all wrestling fans here. No need to belittle anybody.

    • Lebron James

So the crowd showing their displeasure for a piece of sht show is narcissistic? You’re an idiot. In an era where fans are smart about the product, you can no longer deliver a below average product day in and day out without repercussion. Enough is enough and yesterday was the breaking point for a lot of folks. I’ve never in my life, in any sort of event, seen a crowd completely turn its back on the product on display. EVER. The WWE fked up big time. Hope crowds everywhere continue showing their displeasure until they’re voices are heard.

  • John

I just checked the betting odds for the Royal Rumble (I always avoid them before the event) and surprise, surprise all winners were predicted.. Even the new age outlaws were huge betting favourites despite them winning actually shocking me.

  • disqus_zGeoFRB0Aa

The WWE is so predictable it’s a joke. I could see that Batista was gonna win the rumble from a mile away. I called it as soon as they said he was coming back. The one thing I hate in wrestling is predicibilty and right now the WWE is very much predictable.

  • tsever

Batista is back within a week and wins the rumble. This is WWE’s finger poke of doom

    • disqus_zGeoFRB0Aa

You could see it coming from a mile away.

  • kingdook24

I mean, I’m just REALLY glad that I didn’t pay for this crap.

They make Bryan job… AGAIN. Bryan, seriously… I don’t see how you keep dealing with that…

The Lesnar/Show match was beyong horrendous – that crap should’ve been saved for RAW or Smackdown – that match was a major letdown and did nothing to boost either superstar.

Cena/Orton – Wow… the fans were chanting DANIEL BRYAN, THIS IS AWFUL, BORING, WE WANT ANGLE, UNDERTAKER… I mean, seriously WWE… how is this not embedded in your skulls that fans are tired of Cena/Orton? And you know what’s crazy – I am a Cena guy – but even I’m tired of him always in the hunt of the title.

Batista comes back after FIVE years, Sheamus has been gone for months and they are BOTH in the FINAL four of the Rumble over workhorses and future maineventers such as Bryan, Kofi, Ziggler, ANY member of the Shield, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes… and then have Batista win the thing & being entered at #28? I mean, WWE’s most over superstar was being chanted in EVERY match and wasn’t even in the Rumble!!!

I can’t explain how bad I felt that fans were booing the last 10-20 minutes of the PPV. I felt bad for the superstars involved as well. I mean, it’s not all entirely their fault. WWE pushes who they wanna push & clearly don’t care what we have to say or feel on the matter.

    • Tony Rankin

You just took my every thought clear out of my head & put it in this comment. I didn’t pay for Royal Rumble but I feel shafted out of 3 hours of my life. Except Bray vs. Bryan which far exceeded my expectations and turned out to be an amazing match. Show/Lesnar was just one big promo. I hope that arena is rioting somewhere because they deserved way better.

      • Rich

I wish I could upvote this so much more.

    • opie

Fans were even chanting “We want Divas” during the title match. I’ve never heard that before.

    • GOR

Lesner vs Show match was a big let-down. had a lot of expectations from that match !

  • Gio

Even though the wm main event was very predictable, the Spanish announce team wrecked it because they said that Batista would be facing Randy at Wm

    • Gary Robert

Orton has to beat Lesnar now for that to happen. Better odds its Lesnar/Batista.

  • Nunchuk

Fresh app have been enjoying it for awhile but it needs an incredible amount of work. Tired of these ads that constantly back me out of the article’s. Glad im not paying for it. And im definitely never going to pay for premium if its like this thats for sure

  • opie

Does anybody remember the last time Rey got booed?

    • H.M.

It wasn’t the fact that it was Rey who was booed, it was more of the fact that he was the last entrant. Daniel Bryan was someone the crowd wanted, and no. 30(whoever it was) basically sealed the deal that he wouldn’t be in the match.

      • opie

A fact I’m well aware of. My point is that it takes some pretty serious anger to get Rey booed.

    • Tony Rankin

They were gonna boo any #30 entrant that wasn’t either Daniel Bryan, Stone Cold, The Undertaker, or any other surprise entrant that had 0% chance of showing up.

  • BIG M

Whoever’s running WWE these days VKM or HHH and Stephanie should be ashamed of themselves.
Bring back Shane 0 Mac see if he can do any better at running things.
Because right now the current administration has NO CLUE.

  • Sylvir

What the f@#&ity f@#& f@#&ing f@#& was that??!! Batista? Really?! You’re giving the wrestlemania main event to Batista? What the f@#& are you thinking? Instead of giving it to one of the deserving dedicated professionals who works their tails off for you every day year round, you give it to an undeserving douchenozzle who took his ball and went home when he didn’t like the direction you took your company. Bravo Vince. *long drawn out slow clap* Instead of rewarding loyalty and hardwork, you reward the petty selfishness of this failure who couldn’t succeed anywhere and finally decided to come back.

I’d rather see the Red Rooster or Brooklyn Brawler in the wrestlemania main event rather than Batista. At least they would be entertaining.

  • Radical Rex

I think Mick Foley said it best on Twitter. Does WWE hate their audience? Tonight should hopefully have been a wakeup call for them. Bryan needs to be at the top. I really hope the rumors of Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania get scrapped. Tonight should be proof to WWE that Bryan deserves more. No offense to Sheamus, but no one wants to see that.

I feel kind of bad for Rey, having to come out to #30 when the crowd wanted Bryan. They should have at least put Batista in that spot since he was already going to get booed for winning. I’m sure he will have a “hilarious” message on twitter for the reaction he got after winning.

    • opie

Unless Bryan is going to end the streak (I’m not even getting into that subject), the only respectable match for him at WM is against Triple H. That’s his true nemesis, and he deserves the chance to kick the crap out of him.

      • Gary Robert

        That will be Punk’s match.

  • frenchfry

God you all whine so much, get over it

    • Whammaster

For good reason. Everyone has witnessed the rape of Daniel Bryan for almost a full year now and people are getting sick and tired of it. Its not the fact that Bryan had to win, its the fact that he wasn’t even in it at all, and had a strong showing.

I’m not the only one that is tired of the booking of D-Bryan, the guy gets the biggest pops out of anyone on that roster atm, and yet WWE ignores it. Its disgusting.

      • BIG M

Im as upset as anyone over DB’s treatment but you really shouldn’t use words like “rape”.
Thats a little much and a little improper.

  • Sylvir

What the %@#&ity %@#& %@#&ing &@#& was that??!! Batista? Really?! You’re giving the Wrestlemania main event to Batista? What the %@#& are you thinking? • Avalanchian

Nice Bryan loses because they need a reason to try and elevate Bray Wyatt. Now they are gonna feud with Cena in hopes of trying to get Bray over with the crowd. The RR winner was obvious.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/TimPhilly317 TimPhillips

I stopped watching wrestling in late 2012…everything was completely stale and hardly any fan demand was being met. Old habits are starting to kick in again and I’ve been checking the dirt sheets trying to rekindle an interest and what do I see? The same exact bullshit that drove me away in the first place with just a few new fresh faces. I’m shocked that Daniel Bryan is arguably at a Stone Cold level, I din’t think anyone could reach that level in today’s climate, but I’m hardly surprised that the people at WWE are STILL doing what they want when they want regardless of what the fans want to see.

    • Gary Robert

If you stopped watching late 2012…when did you start up again that you’re already seeing the same reasons that made you stop to begin with…a few weeks later?

  • kingdook24

I can’t believe I’m going to say this… but this PPV was worse than Battleground. And Battleground was trash.

And people didn’t just want DB in the Rumble, they wouldn’t have settled for that. The only thing that could’ve saved this PPV was DB winning. Having Reigns or Punk winning would’ve ‘salvaged’ it.

WWE should be embarrassed that this show was greenlit.

  • David F.

WWE really needs to get their heads out of their asses and listen to fans. Hopefully WWE turns Batista heel and we will get Batista v Bryan v Orton for title with Bryan winning. Cant wait for everyone to boo Batista at Raw tomorrow and chant Daniel Bryan at authority

  • Dynamo

this has seriously turned me off from buying the WrestleMania on ppv

  • AML

..Hows that for the E! Please as a wrestling fan right now please don’t say the E that is aggravating and it make you look like a big fagboy mark. Anyways good show not great but just good.

    • AML

i meant to say fanboy no discrimination to sexuality.

  • Terra Ryzing

They had a chance to tear the roof off that place. Imagine the reaction DB would’ve gotten when he entered and won. Also making DB/Orton the main event at Mania would’ve had the whole Bryan/Orton/Authority saga come full circle with DB finally winning the title. I keep saying to myself I’m gonna wait and see how it plays out but these shenanigans keep happening and myself and lots of other fans are getting impatient.

Vince has revolutionized pro wrestling but he was also pretty hell bent on calling Stone Cold Steve Austin Chilly McFreez.

  • Gary Robert

The only thing Batista used to have going for him was his size and physique but event THAT looks weak right now.

  • Gary Robert

I look forward to Xavier’s response to this shit show, lol!

  • wm30indaNO

Everyone wanted only one title. Now u have it and here lies the problem. I personally wouldn’t have any problem with batista winning the rumble if the titles were still separated bc then batista could go for the world heavyweight and bryan for the wwe title but with one belt, this could be a huge problem down the line. However, notice how orton still has two belts, I feel they might spilt them again

    • opie

The chase for the title is far more interesting with one.

      • wm30indaNO

perhaps but then people cant bitch when who they want going for the belt aint in it

        • Bob’s Diner

That’s a weak excuse. Having one world title wasn’t a problem before 2003 – don’t see why it should be now. The key is not having the same guys fighting over said belt for 10 years

    • packerpf

It doesn’t set up a problem…it sets up a nice Elimination Chamber match for the title and the winner will face the rr winner at wm.

  • sdunne87

Where was Bad News Barret’s replacement when he teased Voodoo?

  • mike

Batista winning the rumble will defo be on botchamanias next video. I was disgusted last night with the outcome. The orton cena match was a good match but fhe fans were just letting the brass know they don.t want cena challenging they want daniel bryan. Same said for the rumble. Wwe tries to create moments but right now fail all the time. The crowd reacted better when cena won it last year. Were they really expecting the roof to blow off when batista won?????. When rock came back into the title scene some fans booed but the rock was the #1 or to some #2 guy in his prime. Batista however was maybe #4 at best during his time. Cena orton brock hhh all above him even eddie guerrero from a fans point. Wwe really need to rethink a part timers draw power. The rocks return after acting and worldwide fame was huge. Lesnars return after dominating ufc (before getting whooped twice and retiring) was huge. Batistas return after some mma fights not even televised and no big acting roles…….booed twice on his comeback. Next years rumble will be won by matt hardy the way this is going.

  • Bob’s Diner

    Wow…

People should check Mick Foley’s facebook page for the best reaction I have read so far.

This was the equivalent of the Ultimate Warrior returning in 1998 and winning the Royal Rumble instead of Steve Austin

  • kingdook24

The fact WWE can ignore this is unacceptable. That is all.

  • DanJackson

If this is the type of programming we are to expect from WWE going forward….maybe $10/ month for the WWE network isn’t such a bargain after all.

  • JR Texx (Jamie)

The crowd killed the rumble once Mysterio came out..but then WWE killed it by having Reigns and Batista as the final two..

I enjoyed most of the rumble especially when Ziggler came out, but what a poor ending.

    • packerpf

Batista and Reigns in the final two with Cm Punk being eliminated under circumstance was perfect. But with coming down to the final 7 the 30th shouldn’t have been rey it just wasn’t a big enough build especially when they are hoping Daniel but could have settled for say Sheamus?

      • JR Texx (Jamie)

Why are people so focused on Sheamus V Bryan? It was just an option it can obviously change and it looks like it has, Bryan got in Hunters face last night, and like I’ve said before, Hunter will want to get on the Wrestlemania card.

This could easily just be a storyline to set up Hunter V Bryan for Wrestlemania..

        • packerpf

I wasn’t talking Daniel vs Bryan. I was saying in the 30th spot make the “surprise” of sheamus at least then the let down wouldn’t be as big for the fans.

  • MC Elroy

I am not going to sit here and claim that the whole PPV was awful because one “super-over” superstar was not entered into the rumble, because before that, it was not bad. Bray Wyatt defeated Daniel Bryan in an outstanding match. I do not like to see Bryan losing, but hey, at least Wyatt was not buried right? (rolls eyes, neither man was buried here) Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show was good for what it was- A one sided beat down with a steel chair. Show’s KO punch looked devastating. This segment served to build Lesnar back into a monster for Mania season. The title match was a huge spotfest that was hi-jacked by the crowd. Nothing memorable besides the Wyatts coming out. Cena vs. Wyatt could be interesting. Lets give it a chance people. The Royal Rumble match was good. Kingston, the Shield, Punk, and Cesaro all shined. Sheamus even got a good pop until the Yes Faithful turned on everyone in the ring when Mysterio entered. (Besides Roman Reigns). Do not get me wrong, I was appalled to not see D-Bry in the rumble. But why would he enter? If Bray was not an entrant, why would Bryan, the man that suffered a severe beat down, enter the melee? Not only would it make Wyatt look weaker, but it would lack logic. Are we really going to forego logic for the sake of out resident YES man? Please.

    • JR Texx (Jamie)

There was no way Lesnar and Big Show was going to do as well as Bryan and Wyatt, they ended it quick and it was in a good way to show that Lesnar can still dominate, it was a great to watch and Big Show and Lesnar both delievered, Big Show holding his arm swearing was a great touch, although I am a bit concerned about Show’s arm, as Lesnar did avoid that area.

But yes I agree with everything you said, Bryan is going to be over no matter what, I think they made the right call for Wyatt going over.

    • DanJackson

I agree with your point on the Wyatt/Bryan match. That match was pretty damn good and I love both guys so I wasn’t too upset over the outcome. I also agree with you on the Cena/Wyatt fued. I think it could and will be interesting and for once, I am actually looking forward to a feud involving Cena. The pre-show match was okay. I like Cody but wasn’t too upset that they dropped the titles.

Where we differ is the rest of the card. They could have done SO much more. The current plan from my understanding is to have Lesnar/Undertaker at WM30, so why not start the build last night? I read somewhere that Big Show was injured and that played a part in the way the “match” went so that is understandable. But why not get undertaker involved? How nuts would the crowd have gone if in the middle of the beat down that took place the lights went out and Undertaker comes out? I personally can’t stand the Undertaker and wish his streak would have ended with HBK, HHH, or Punk but even I would have gotten a little excited over that. Who really wanted to see Orton/Cena part two? Actually who really wanted to see Randy Orton main event a ppv for the eighth consecutive time? You could argue that the rumble was the main event, but whatever. The fact is that most of us were not excited about that match, and Pittsburgh made it obvious that they weren’t.

As far at the actual Royal Rumble match, that was possibly the biggest disappointment of the night. First of all there were no big surprise entrants. JBL….really? Kevin Nash….been there. Sheamus’ “surprise” entrance was completely predictable. Jake Roberts could have easily taken JBL’s spot for a quick elimination. Hogan would have been acceptable. What better way to further the “corrupt” authority angle than to have HHH as an entrant who “luckily” drew number 30? There are talks about HBK coming back to face Bryan, so why not a short appearance for him? Even if he doesn’t plan to come back for a match, he could easily have come in for a quick minute or two. And finally why no freaking Daniel Bryan? I wouldn’t call his match with Wyatt a “severe beat down”. He got his clock cleaned via a “Sister Abigal” into the barrier, another in the middle of the ring, and he was pinned. And how many times have we seen John Cena really take a severe beating only to come back and get a win. How many times throughout the years have we seen people get severe beatings backstage and then come out to compete later. What about Chris Jericho competing in two matches to become the unified champion? Daniel Bryan being in the Royal Rumble isn’t far fetched at all. They could have even used him to quickly eliminate HBK as “payback” or the starting of a future feud if HBK decides to have that match. My primary issue Batista winning is that I feel he needs to earn the chance to headline WM30 not have it handed to him in his first match back.

With the exception of the Wyatt/Bryan match and the Lesnar/Big Show match, this ppv was a complete borefest. And the only reason the Lesnar match wasn’t boring for me was that I was expecting Undertaker to come out at any second.

      • MC Elroy

I understand your point that D-Bry could have made an appearance since many superstars have done it in the past. But, if he was an entrant, Bray needed to be one also. I also agree with you about the Undertaker appearing during the beat down of Big Show. I was waiting for something big to happen, but to no avail. I still feel like the WWE holding Bryan off the rumble is making way for a huge payoff down the road. They cannot be this dense and oblivious. There is no way.

        • DanJackson

I am actually hoping the same thing. The fact that he has become more outspoken about the companies confidence in him has me thinking that it is possible that its all a work that will lead up to another Bryan/Authority storyline. As I said, the fact that it is out of character for him to criticize the WWE gives me a little hope of as you put it “a huge payoff”.

  • Stephen Cash

Had DB won the rumble raw would have had it’s highest rating in a long time. This is not best for business

  • Scott Davies

I don’t get it. They have a huge over star on their hands & they can’t seem to get the hint.

  • JJ

High points: Roman Reigns, very nice, was surprised they let him get Kane’s record, but kind of figured it once Corporate kane was eliminated right away.
That’s pretty much it…the night was highlighted with botchery and predictability otherwise. Everyone knew show would fall to lesnar in a boring match, most knew there was no way cena could beat randy, most figured batista would be in the final 4 if not win it all. The NAO shouldn’t have won the tag title, but I understand the stupid wwe reason why they did it, btw don’t agree with the decision on this. Then we get to the match I most looked forward to bray and bryan. Now the match overall was great..but there were several problems; one at many points it seemed to make Daniel weak, and then the biggest for me is that Bray stopped selling his injured leg mere minutes after “limping due to injury”: he didn’t limp the rest of the match..while it may not seem like much selling is crucial..

Interesting how everyone Cena called out around the 15:21 mark was screwed at the Royal Rumble.

  • packerpf

I have not heard so many boos for Rey in a long time. Not having Daniel at least in the rumble somehow sucked and the fans let the WWE know that. I feel almost..let down by this ppv overall in comparison to other rumbles.

  • Chris

So…Daniel Bryan wasn’t advertised for the Royal Rumble match, then everyone gets upset when he doesn’t appear in it?? Can’t believe how much abuse this show is getting just because Bryan didn’t get the WM ticket!! I might be able to understand if he wasn’t on the show at all, but he and Bray had the match of the night.

  • Paul Jameson

Wish they didn’t botch the Kane hiding under the ring right before JBL’s entrance…kinda threw that one off for me.
