Final Thoughts:
Well, this weeks Smackdown had eight total matches in a two hour program. That was rather refreshing, if I'm honest. I thought it was a solid episode this week. Sure, there were a few squashes but I don't mind that. It's an effective way to get talent over. The Sheamus/Mahal and Gabriel/Slater matches really surprised me with the quality of action. I thought those two matches were fine television matches. Heck, McIntyre/DiBiase put on a fun little match.

I'm glad that Daniel Bryan is starting to get over as a heel. He was bland as a face, but he is doing a great job with the heel role. His match with Big Show was probably the best they could've done considering the size difference. The angle they have done with AJ was an interesting way to end the show as well. Sure, we didn't get a finish, but it adds to the issues between Bryan and Show. I had no problem with it.

Overall, this weeks Smackdown gets a thumbs up from me. It was a quality all around show this week.

Thanks for reading.

The ending sucked a little bit (mostly because of AJ being strechered out of the arena), but I did enjoy Smackdown…

  • gibbons08

Big Show needs grow up, sometimes you have to run people over!

    • MonsterMike42

But someone who is 400 pounds lighter than you? That's a little harsh ain't it? Especially since Big Show has no problem with AJ.

  • Dunstan

It probably sounds weird, but I think Big Show did a great job selling his concern for AJ, I enjoyed smackdown but I was actually impressed by Big Show's performance at the end

  • Chapel Of Ghouls

1.) Daniel Bryan cut a very good promo, although he said "dung." That was weird to say. Mark Henry then came out and said he's getting a title shot next week. I don't know about that, if he will be healthy enough. Bryan was very hesitant in taking that in. Nice character development.

2.) Hornswoggle pretty much cost Heath Slater his match with Justin Gabriel. How unlucky that guy is.

3.) So AJ loves Daniel Bryan? Get in line. Should be interesting what he will do with her.

4.) Cody Rhodes trying to speak Spanish with the Laredo, and mentioning his title reign is now at 5 months. Extremely impressive, and he wants to be IC and WHC champion? Rhodes winning the Rumble? Never thought of that. Great promo, something different though, being pretty funny. Cody Rhodes had a short match with Ezekiel Jackson, good work from him.

5.) Santino making suggestions to Teddy, pretty silly. Triple cage? Comical. I think Long accidentally called him "Santina."

6.) Drew and Ted had a fine match. Drew did a very hard clothesline intercepting DiBiase, very nice. I figured Hunico and Camacho would screw Ted, and Drew would win. Now he has 3 strikes, hm? Commentary there was just funny. Booker had the line of the match, under everyone else talking, he said "I hate you Cole." No reply from Cole, hehe.

7.) Booker once again had another big line, basically saying nobody in WWE has as much heart as Rey Mysterio. That's debateable. Unsurprising, Sheamus won his match. Jinder was given the most room here, and looked alright. Jinder is a guy who will get better (not saying he sucks) when he works with wrestlers better than him. Sheamus is better than him. Good stuff.

8.) AJ trying to reason with Big Show about Daniel Bryan? He thought Show was trying to take AJ, ha.Daniel Bryan interrupting and telling Show to leave! Ballsy.

9.) Booker is on a role! Now he said "Who cares about David Otunga?" Otunga got a win! Wow, and his finisher looked like the Dreamer Driver. Very impressive.

10.) Brodus Clay had a "blink, you will miss it" squash on Tyson Kidd. Oh the dancing girls were very, awesome. Teddy Long was then dancing, failure compared to those women. Long and Aksana in Las Vegas, "hit on black?" Say what?

11.) Now Tamina acted more like a face, squashed Natalya. Short, again.

12.) Wade Barrett cutting a promo on the stage, targeting Sheamus' characteristics. Nice, and aiming for the Rumble. Committing a sin on Sheamus? Interesting. These two have great, physical, hard hitting matches. No exception next week.

13.) Daniel Bryan might've been teasing a heel turn, but that doesn't prevent a fighting underdog story! Tremendous storytelling, just the amount of times he kept coming back. It felt more even than their previous match, and actually better. A chair used so many times by him shows Bryan's determination, a chair that hurt Show but he still fought, showed Show's domination. It all played off very well. A satisfying main event, until the ending. No winner! This might write Show in for a Royal Rumble title shot. I predict a triple threat match: Bryan vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry (I expect Henry and Bryan will have something screwy/different to justify him getting into the Rumble WHC match). Show was crying like a baby, and Bryan was very distraught. I figured it'd be the other way around, and maybe this will make Bryan more angry. He got very mad in this match, which I feel helps Bryan. He has the face of a pissed off man with the beard and all. The angrier he gets, I think the more people will notice, even as a heel. Poor AJ though.

    • Matt Scott

First, again, why just rewrite what is posted above!? Makes NO sense. Second. WWE have been billing Rey like that for years. “No one has more heart” is like his thing. Where you been?

  • Patrick_Peralta

The match between Bryan and Big Show as very good and well played out the ending with AJ getting run over by Big show while he chased Daniel Bryan was a good way to end the show.

I read the spoilers earilyer in the week and there was a slight mistake.

It said said Big Show Hit AJ by mistake when he threw his Finishing punch at Bryan who ducked. but that did not happen he chased Bryan at ringside and ran over her.

I'm enjoying Bryan's heel turn and him getting on Big Show for injurying AJ was well done. the fans are all ready starting to boo Bryan and I heared chants of "Go away, go away"

The best part is Cole is NOT jumping on the Bryan Bandwagon by cheering him, he still hates Bryan. ( Thank God ) I'd hate to see him start sucking up to Bryan as he does the Miz.

Cole is all so terrible at predicting Bryan would lose the Title and he was proven wrong. lol he Predicted Bryan would lose the World tilte two times all ready and he was wrong both times.

Dibiase and Mcyintyre had a good match. When Mark Henry retires I'd like to see him join the announce team on Smackdown he did a great job last week. including putting Cole in his place.

  • L.T

raw and smackdown is geating were they both suck and if there was anything else on tv i would never watch.Maybe that is why they put it on when they do.I know it not real but stupid is just stupid

    • Bryan

You know whats even more stupid? Bad grammar.

  • L.T

I think raw and smackdown has gotten so rediculous that they need to have FREDDY VS JASON or GODZILLA VS. KING KONG. Have some 9 year kid wrestel Big show and win .That is how bad it has gotten.

  • Bob

Wasn’t Santino supposed to have a match with Otunga?

  • anna

The P.G. Era is Lame…I understand they want better sponsors and all but at least make it a bit edgier and not insulting to the adult fans intelligence

I still think it's weird when I see Big Show cry like a baby. To me, giants should be all fierce and terrifying and totally emotionless. But Big Show is different. When he cries, it really sends the point home. I remember when I heard that Eddie Guerrero had passed away and it never really clicked until I saw Big Show bawling on TV. And that's when I started crying like a baby. It was about the same way last night minus me crying and the fact I knew it was scripted.
