Finlay vs. Chris Benoit (c)
Tony Chimel announces it to the crowd as the music of Chris Benoit hits and he makes his way out to the ring to a big pop from the crowd. He shows his belt to the crowd then walks around the ring as the music of Finlay hits and he makes his way to the ring. Finlay stares down some of the crowd before entering the ring and both wrestlers stare at each other as the wrestlers are announced to the crowd and the bell rings to commence the match.
The start:
We get both wrestlers locking up with Finlay pushing Benoit into the corner before being they move to the centre of the ring still locked together until Benoit is pushed against the ropes and a clean break is made. Both wrestlers are still standing face to face until Benoit unleashes with a huge slap to the face of Finlay forcing him back. They both face off against each other again and Benoit gives him another slap before Finlay comes at him with some blows and a short arm clothesline and an attempted pin by Finlay before the stare each other again.
Mid-match notes:
An attempt at a test of strength before Benoit knocks Finlay off of his feet and locking in a leg hold in a kneeling position and giving blows to the face of Finlay before going for a pin. Finlay breaks out and then forces Benoit into the corner where another clean break is made. Benoit slaps away the hand of Finlay and that just makes Finlay mad and he takes to Benoit with a kick to the midsection and blows to the head and an uppercut before getting Benoit in a headlock as the crowd starts clapping loudly for Benoit who manages to twist out of the headlock and pick Finlay up and back drop him to the canvas. It's Benoit now with an attempt at a pin before going to work on Finlay in the corner with chops and knees to the chest. A head to the turnbuckle by Benoit on Finlay knocks him straight out of the ring!
Finlay is against the apron as Benoit attempts a baseball slide but Finlay moves out of the way at the last minute as Benoit makes it to the floor. Finlay takes advantage with a kick to the back of the leg of Benoit before shoving Benoit back first into the steel steps as we go to a commercial break. Back from commercial and Finlay is working on the on knee of Benoit. We get a replay of actually Benoit's knee meeting the steel step when he was pushed into them. Finlay continues his assault on the knee of Benoit, slamming it against the steel post as he is down on the floor. He taunts Benoit before twisting the knee of Benoit over the ropes. An elbow to the knee and then a kick to the back of the leg and Finlay is charge as the crowd starts up a big Benoit chant. A half Boston crab by Finlay as Benoit struggles to get to the ropes. He makes it finally and sells the injured knee as if he's been shot. Finlay taunts him then works on the knee again before Benoit manages to push off with his boot. To no avail as Finlay continues the assault.
Finlay takes Benoit to the corner to continue the assault. Before he manages to get back to him though after being pushed away by the referee Benoit fights back with a number of hard chops on Finlay. Finlay comes off the ropes but Benoit knocks him down! Benoit tries a suplex but can't complete the move because of his knee and Finlay assaults Benoit again before he manages to take Finlay down with a kick to the head! It's Benoit now with 3 German suplexes and he staggers out to the ropes and climbs them slowly. He attempts a flying headbutt but Finlay moves out of the way at the last moment and then it's almost a three count as Finlay tries the cover. Finlay now takes a turnbuckle off and as the referee tries to put it back on, his attention away, Finlay leaves the ring and looks under the apron. He tries to call out the Lil' Bastard who seems to be held back. Finlay tries again and again but to no avail.
The Finish:
Finlay is now getting a count from the referee so he reenters the ring and takes to the knee of Benoit again before we get the music of the Boogeyman. We get the smoke and Finlay has no idea what's happening and we get a look out the ring and Lil' Bastard as being held by Boogeyman who comes out from under the ring and puts him over his shoulder. Benoit uses this distraction to roll Finlay up and we get a cover!
Winner and still United States Champion, Chris Benoit
The Aftermath:
Post match Finlay stares down at Boogeyman up the rampway before going out and grabbing Lil' Bastard who doesn't want to go back under the ring after what happened. He runs around the ring and ends up on the announcer's table before being berated by Finlay who tries to chase him around again and put him under the ring. Lil' Bastard is finally caught by Finlay and pushed under again.
In the arena:
Back from commercial and a view of the stadium from the outside before we get a view of Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top fame in the crowd.
Backstage:
Kristal is interviewing Vickie Guerrero minus her neck brace. She says her neck feels fine, and Kristal fawns over her and asks what is next. Vickie says that the working conditions are so unsafe, and have been made worse by Teddy Long. Regardless, she plans on returning to Smackdown very soon, and there is an opportunity that has caught her eye and that will bring her much success. She thanks Kristal for her support and wishes her luck before they hug.
Non Title Match
Referee: Jim Korderas
Duece and Domino vs. Brian Kendrick and Paul London (c)
Back to action and the music of London and Kendrick hit as they come out for their match led by Ashley. They're wearing different masks tonight. Almost Hannibal Lecter type. We then get a backstage view as Cherry is working on cleaning the car as Deuce & Domino get ready to come out to the ring as we go to commercial.
The start:
Kendrick and Deuce being the match up. They lock up But Deuce throws Kendrick to the canvas. Another lock up and more strength by Deuce. An attempted pin on Deuce after another lock up and then Kendrick takes Deuce down with a toe hold before landing a dropkick on him! The crowd like that chain of moves by Kendrick as the tag is made by Kendrick to London and Deuce is taken down after an Irish whip.
Mid-match notes:
A tag by London to Kendrick and he comes down on the arm of Deuce and then another tag and London comes off the ropes jumping on the arm of Deuce. This offence is short lived as Deuce with a knee to the midsection takes over. London is knocked to the canvas after whipping Deuce into the ropes. Some more off the ropes work but London is distracted by Domino trying to get into the ring and doesn't notice the arm of Deuce coming against the back of his head. A tag now to Domino who comes in and takes to London trash talking him. London tries for some offense but Domino takes control just too quickly again and continues the trash talking. The referee is distracted allowing Deuce to choke him on the ropes in a scissor lock type move. An attempted pin to no avail and then Deuce is back in again continuing the assault with a big knee to the head and another attempted pin before locking in a submission move working on the shoulder and neck. London fights back but Deuce slams him face first into the corner before Domino stomps on him.
Domino poses to the crowd but taken to by London with some desperate blows to the gut before Domino just continues to beat him. London can't make the tag and is dragged back into the corner were Deuce now has a turn on beating him. Another attempted fightback by London but he is taken down by a heel kick to the jaw who makes the tag to Domino. London with another fight back but can't quite take the advantage until being given an Irish whip and landing a kick to the chest of Domino. He staggers into the corner and ducks out of the way of an attempted splash by Domino and finally makes the tag to Kendrick to the roar from the crowd! It's the turn now of Kendrick as he rushes the ring. He offloads with elbows to Domino coming off the ropes 3 times. A dropkick on Domino! a flying elbow into the head of Domino who has staggered into the corner. He can't do anymore as Deuce comes in and breaks an attempted suplex.
The Finish:
London comes back in with a dropkick on Deuce to the delight of the crowd! Domino however throws London to the floor as he comes at him and Ashley rushes over to check on him. An attempted Sliced Bread by Kendrick fails as Domino holds onto the ropes. Deuce from behind grabs a handful of hair and slams Kendrick onto the canvas! They set up Kendrick now for their signature move as a fellow columnist calls the Crack Him in the Mouth Time and this one is over as Deuce makes the cover!
Winners - Duece and Domino
The Aftermath:
Post match and Deuce and Domino celebrate as Ashley is still out of the ring checking on London. Kendrick is flat on his back in the ring as we get a replay of the final few seconds of the match before we go backstage again.
Backstage:
Teddy Long is on his phone saying goodbye to someone as he notices Batista to a nice pop from the crowd. Batista needs an answer again by tonight from the Undertaker before wandering off.
In the arena:
Back from commercial and King Booker is in the ring on a throne with 3 guys at a podium who are from the Honourable Order of Royal Houstonians and they're about to award him the Keys to the City. The crowd boo actually as the Key is shown and the key is presented to Booker as Sharmell has the mic and tells everyone to all hail King Booker a number of times before handing him the mic. Booker thanks everyone, his loyal subjects. On this occasion he has a statement. First he thanks Sharmell for being by his side as without her none of this would be possible. He thanks his own kingdom of Houston to a nice pop it's about time he was acknowledged and the cheers turn to jeers. What other Houstonian has achieved what he has? Did Walter Kronkite ever beat John Cena and Big Show in one night to become King of the Ring. Roger Clemens never won the King of the Ring. Noone ever got down to kiss the feet of Patrick Swayze. And what about the Houston Rocks, 2 times NBA Champion. They're nothing like the 5 time WCW champion. Booker is the icon of the 169 year history of Houston. The Order of Houstonians are all going to bow down and kiss his ring as he forces the second guy to kiss his ring whilst the other two do so. There are huge jeers from the crowd as Sharmell starts her rant on the mic again.
Booker once again with the mic and he announces that there is a Hall of Famer in the stadium tonight. That is Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top as Booker exits the ring and goes to him. He says that just by being here is proof enough that he respects Booker. He wants Gibbons to bow down and kiss his ring. Gibbons refuses. He wants him then to kiss his feet but Gibbons knocks his feet away and Booker wanders off lamenting the ungratefulness from the crowd and everyone else! All of a sudden to a huge cheer from the crowd we get the music of Kane and he makes his way to the ring. Booker stands behind the Order of Houstonian as Kane enters the ring and knocks over the throne. One of them goes up to Kane and pleads him to stop before being chokeslammed by Kane. The other two are knocked over before Booker tries to get Kane but is met by a number of punches and knocked over the top rope and onto the floor as the crowd cheers loudly. Kane stares down at Booker as both he and Sharmell make their way through the crowd as Kane looks down at the fallen three Houstonians in the ring before setting off his ring pyros and kicking over the podium before exiting the ring and wandering back up the rampway. We get another replay of Kane taking control and then a view of him up the rampway again.
Referee: Charles Robinson
Vito vs. Mr. Kennedy
Back from commercial and Vito is in the ring wearing a red number as Mr. Kennedy makes his way to the ring and just looks at Vito who mouths at him showing him his dress before Kennedy just shoves him away.
The start:
This leads to Vito taking a right hand to Kennedy and this match is on as Vito takes to Kennedy with an Irish whip followed by a back body drop, a clothesline and a bodyslam! Vito mimics the intro of Kennedy, calling down the mic, and then comes off the ropes but is bet by an elbow here from Kennedy who obviously didn't like being mimicked!
Mid-match notes:
Kennedy takes to Vito with a number of blows and then slams his head into the turnbuckle and chokes him in the corner. A big knee by Kennedy on Vito before tearing off his dress to some jeers from the crowd. He slingshots Vito into the corner then lands some elbows to the back of Vito and a body slam before dropping an elbow off the ropes. He taunts Vito and then lands blows to his head before choking him against the corner again.
The Finish:
Kenney locks him up on the top rope straddling them and lands a kick and blows to the midsection before mounting the second rope with Vito over his shoulders in a fireman's carry type move and somersaults into the ring flooring Vito and making the cover and this is already over.
Winner - Mr. Kennedy
The Aftermath:
Post match and Kennedy exits the ring, grabs the dress of Vito he'd ripped off earlier and then brings it back into the ring and chokes Vito. Mr. Kennedy stares down Vito and then calls down the mic. He kneels right down next to the prone Vito announces his names and then takes to Vito with some more blows before exiting the ring as we get another replay of some of the final moves in the match.
In the arena:
Back from commercial and sadly we have a bikini contest hosted by JBL. JBL announces the contest to the crowd who cheers and then calls down Kristal. Kristal enters the ring as Jillian is called down to the ring. We then get Ashley called down to the ring as well. Kristal shows off her bikini first, a leopard skin type number. Ashley then has her turn and shows off a red number. It's Jillian's turn now but she has on a t-shirt and sweat shorts. To some boos from the crowd she grabs the mic and says that strutting around the ring does not take talent and she wants to sing. JBL says fine and Jillian tries to sing though badly to boos from the crowd as Ashley and Kristal laugh before JBL with a shocked look grabs the mic again and says it was just awful. He gets the crowd to cheer for their favourite girl which turns out to be Ashley who got a bigger cheer than Kristal and Jillian just got a bunch of jeers. JBL announces Ashley as the winner before Jillian grabs the mic and says the crowd has no clue before Ashley knocks her down and rips off clothes leaving her in her underwear as she runs from the ring leaving Ashley to take the cheers of the crowd in the ring.
Backstage:
We go backstage where Teddy Long is telling Mr. Kennedy he didn't like the way he took to Vito after the match. Kennedy says that he had Batista beat at Royal Rumble except Long reminds him that the referee was down. Kennedy wants a rematch or he'll go over Long's head. Long says he'll just have a rematch next week for the title. Kennedy says that if he beats Batista next week that Undertaker could very well be choosing him as he stares off into the distance.
Referee: Chris Kay
Matt Hardy vs. Mike Mizanin
Back from commercial and what? Another match? Wow! We have the music of Matt Hardy as he makes his way down to the ring slapping the hands of some of the crowd along the walkway. We're then given the music of The Miz and he makes his way to the ring strutting.
The start:
We begin with a lock up and an armbar by Hardy on Miz before an Irish whip off the ropes and Miz is given a hip toss. Miz didn't like that and another lock up and Miz is in a headlock as we get a huge Hardy chant from the crowd. Miz breaks out and whips Hardy into the ropes but is taken down by a shoulder block. Hardy off the ropes again and Miz ducks Hardy jumping over him and then delivers his own hip toss on Hardy!
Mid-match notes:
Miz on the offence but Hardy fights back and whips Miz into the ropes and takes him down with an elbow and then an elbow drop. Another whip into the ropes and Miz is given a back body drop. An attempted pin by Hardy and a headlock but Miz breaks out of it and whips Hardy into the ropes but is met by a kick to the chest but as Hardy charges him, he is taken down by a drop toe hold which sends him through the ropes and onto the floor. Miz follows him to the floor and slams his head into the apron a couple of times before throwing him back into the ring as we get another big Hardy chant happening. Miz however is taking to Hardy with punches and then a kick to the head and an attempted pin before working on the head of Hardy as we get another chant.
Hardy makes it to his feet and with the elbow breaks out of the hold but Miz takes control before an attempted DDT is reversed with a body drop by Hardy. Hardy blocks some blows and then takes Miz down with a couple of elbows before whipping him into the corner charging him and then giving him a bulldog! An attempted pin but for a two count as Hardy mounts the second rope and drops an elbow onto the head of Miz before giving him a Side Effect and an almost 3 count. Hardy picks up Miz over his shoulder but Miz pushes out the back of it and shoves Hardy into the corner. He follows up but is met by an elbow staggering him.
The Finish:
Hardy looks to go to the apron to climb the ropes but Miz is straight back with the offense choking Hardy on the apron of the ring. As Miz is being told off by the referee out of the crowd comes Joey Mercury who whacks Hardy in the face with his mask knocking him back into the ring! Miz drags Hardy into the centre of the ring, picks him up, delivers the Mizard of Oz (swinging neckbreaker), makes the cover and he has a win!
Winner - Mike Mizanin
The Aftermath:
Post match and Mercury jumps back into the crowd as Miz celebrates his win as Hardy is flat on his back in the ring. A replay of the final few seconds of the match then more Mercury shots in the crowd as we then get pictures of Batista making his way through backstage as we go to another commercial.
In the arena:
Back from commercial and Batista makes his way to stage with a big pop from the crowd. Batista does his usual acknowledging the crowd on both sides of the arena before we get his pyros and he makes his way into the ring. Batista with the mic takes in the chant of the crowd which wasn't as big as Hardy's before talking about Undertaker winning the Royal Rumble. All week he's been asked if he can beat him at Wrestlemania. Undertaker has won the last 14 years at Wrestlemania. Batista welcomes the challenge. He wants the opportunity to beat him. He thinks what it would be like to have the Championship up against the winning streak of Undertaker. After what he's seen this week though he doesn't know which title he's after. Batista deserves a decision NOW! He looks up the rampway but then we get the music of Cena as to a bigger pop he makes his way down to the ring. Cena gets the mic from Cena, takes in the huge pop from the crowd, acknowledges Batista, says he wants to know who Undertaker is fighting as well, says he's had a big week in winning the tag title with HBK. Shawn Michaels he says wants to wrestle Cena at Wrestlemania and then Undertaker appeared on RAW and Cena says that he can choose either of himself or Batista. Cena puts over Undertaker as the Wrestlemania expert. Cena wants to know if it will be him up against him as if it is he needs to prepare. We then get the gong of the Undertaker and the crowd erupts again as Cena and Batista look towards the stage and Undertaker slowly makes his way out to the ring.
In the ring Undertaker stares at both Batista and Cena and the crowd is cheering as Undertaker first approaches Cena staring down at him before doing the same to Batista. What now? To another huge pop from the crowd the music of Shawn Michaels hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Cena, Undertaker and Batista are standing alongside each other as Shawn Michaels grabs the mic and excuses himself. Shawn says that Batista and Cena aren't the only two that want an answer. Shawn says that Undertaker did win the Rumble but did that prove anything? They both thrive competition and he asks if Undertaker really thinks that the matter was resolved at Royal Rumble. He wants Undertaker to put his title shot on the line against him which he thinks is what the crowd really wants! Another interruption as the music of Vince McMahon hits and he swaggers angrily down to the ring! He enters the ring and tells Undertaker he has a decision to make. To Shawn he says that as great a matchup as that seems he doesn't care what he wants. He doesn't care what the crowd wants! Big boos from the crowd as Vince says that the crowd will want what he wants. He announces a match himself! He announces a whole new match that has never been seen. At No Way Out, the February PPV, Cena and Shawn Michaels will team up in a tag match against Batista and Undertaker as he leaves the ring and struts away as the four are left in the ring as the show goes off the air.
