WWE Smackdown! Results - 11/30/07
Roanoke, Virginia
Report By: Richard Trionfo of PWInsider.com

WWE Smackdown! Opener:

We start off with a look back at Edge’s return to the Smackdown brand and the revelation that him and Vickie Guerrero are an item after Vickie blamed him for ruining the match at Survivor Series. We also see Batista and the Undertaker confront Edge, and then we see the Undertaker give the acting General Manager a tombstone piledriver.

In the arena:

Edge comes to the ring and the crowd shows their appreciation. Edge soaks in the love from the Roanoke crowd. He says that tragedy struck four months ago when he sustained an injury. He was forced to relinquish the World Title even though he did not lose it. Everyone was faced with the possibility of losing one of its biggest stars. A twelve time tag team champion, a five time Intercontinental champion, and three time World Champion. How did the WWE and fans react? They did absolutely nothing. There was no sympathy for Edge whatsoever. Not a phone call, a letter, e-mail, or even a text message. Edge says that hurt him and he says that he was contemplating retirement. Why should he go through the months of grueling rehab to come back to a company that does not appreciate him and to fans that do not appreciate him. Two months ago, he got a phone call from someone who changed his career, and his life. That person was Vickie Guerrero. She just took over as General Manager and he knew she was calling for selfish reasons. Vickie motivated him to go through rehab. They got closer and one thing led to another and you can’t help who you fall in love with some times. She started to see things his way. They agreed that Edge needed to make a statement when he returned and with her help he made one. It was Vickie’s idea to dress up like a cameraman and hide under the ring during Hell in a Cell. He made the statement when he bashed the Undertaker in the head with the camera. He knew that if he could eliminate the Undertaker, he knew that he could beat Batista. Four months of frustration came pouring out and it felt so good. It did not feel as good as when he publicly announced his love for Vickie Guerrero. He points out that the Undertaker reacted by attacking a defenseless woman instead of him. Edge calls Taker a monster. Edge points out how hard it is for a woman to be successful in the male dominated society. Edge vows to destroy the Undertaker. When he left Vickie’s bedside today, she felt guilty that she could not be there tonight to fulfill their dream. Edge gives a heartfelt message to Vickie and he promises that he will do it for them. He dedicates his match to Vickie Guerrero. Tonight he will be Vickie’s hero and knight in shining armor. He will be her World Champion.
