WWE Smackdown! Opener:
We start off this week’s show with a look back at the things that have happened since Edge’s return. We start off with Edge getting a title match against Batista for being a bad boy; and a kiss from Vickie Guerrero for being a naughty boy. Then we see what happened last week when the Undertaker got involved in the match. We got the announcement of the title match for Armageddon.
In the arena:
Teddy Long walks to the ring with his arms swinging from side to side. Teddy asks for a few hollas from the fans. He tells the playas that it is good to be back on Smackdown. Teddy mentions that Vickie Guerrero is currently incapacitated and he was happy to make the announcement last week about the main event at Armageddon as Batista faces the Undertaker and Edge in a Triple Threat Match. Teddy says that this Triple Threat Match will be unlike anything you have ever seen. Teddy addresses the United States Title. Montel Vontavious Porter will be defending the title against the man who pinned him last week, Rey Mysterio. Teddy is interrupted by Edge and Edge points out that not even a heart attack can stop Teddy Long. Teddy tells Edge to stop hating him about the heart attack because it is done. Edge talks about how Teddy Long is giving out title matches like they are candy. Edge points out that Teddy is an ASSISTANT General Manager and when Vickie comes back there will be hell to pay. Teddy says that while Vickie is not here, he is in charge. Edge points out that Vickie is laid up in bed with a neck brace because of her attack by the Undertaker. Edge has a message for Vickie and he says that he loves her. Teddy wants to know if Edge has anything better to do than give love messages to Vickie. Teddy says that he is glad to know that Edge and Vickie are in love. Teddy tells Edge to stop wasting his time. Edge wants to know if he has ever wronged Teddy and after Teddy says no, he wants to know why Teddy has been doing so much to torment him. They discuss Edge’s injury at the hands of Kane and how Teddy stripped him of the title without even giving him thirty days. Teddy says that the doctors said that he could not defend the title for ninety days. Edge asks Teddy about last week’s match and how Undertaker cost him the title. Where is his one-on-one rematch. Teddy says that it was Edge who cost the Undertaker the title at Survivor Series. Teddy says that this is his final decision and asks Edge if he is done. Edge says that he has not been given redemption over the last four months. Teddy says that Edge will face the man who injured him four months ago, that would be Kane. Teddy wants to know how Edge feels about that announcement. Teddy tells Edge to ‘man up’ and then it is time to holla. We go to commercial.
Non Title Match

Jesse and Festus vs. John Morrison and The Miz (c)
The start:
The bell ring an Festus goes crazy. Festus goes after Morrison and Morrison leaves the ring. Mizanin attacks Jesse while Festus wants to get Morrison. Mizanin slams Jesse’s head into the turnbuckle and he punches him. Jesse lands on his feet on a hip toss attempt by Mizanin and hits an arm drag. Jesse with another arm drag to Mizanin followed by a slam. Jesse avoids Morrison on the apron and he pulls Morrison off the apron to the floor. Jesse goes up top for a cross body and gets a near fall.
Mid-match notes:
Mizanin throws Jesse into the ropes and then he connects with crossfaces. Morrison is tagged in and Mizanin with a slingshot move that drops Jesse’s throat across the ropes. Morrison with a back breaker followed by a neck breaker for a near fall. Mizanin tags in and kicks Jesse followed by a cravate. Jesse gets out of the hold but he cannot make the tag as Mizanin grabs his leg. Mizanin misses an elbow drop and Jesse hits an enzuigiri that allows him to make the tag to Festus.
The Finish:
Festus punches Morrison and uses Morrison to knock Mizanin off the apron followed by a slam and seated splash. Festus with a flap jack to Morrison followed by a clothesline. Mizanin distracts Festus before he can hit the rocket launcher. Festus with a clothesline that sends both him and Mizanin over the top rope to the floor. Morrison crotches Jesse on the ropes and gets the three count.
Winners, the WWE Tag Team Champions, John Morrison and The Miz
Backstage:
Anastasia is with Elijah Burke and she asks him about his match with Batista. Anastasia asks Burke for his comments on what Batista said about Burke being the last thing on his mind. Burke says that will change because he will change it himself. He says that he is the most talented athlete in ECW. He has defeated every Smackdown challenger. When he beats Batista, will he be the last thing on Batista’s mind? We go to commercial.
Non Title Match
Referee: Jim Korderas
Elijah Burke vs. Batista (c)
The start:
Burke goes into the ropes to frustrate Batista. They lock up and Batista backs Burke into the corner but Burke punches Batista on the break. Batista punches Burke and then runs him into the corner and connects with shoulders in the corner. Batista with an Irish whip and running clothesline. Burke with a drop kick to the knee and then he wraps Batista’s leg around the ring post. Burke works on Batista’s leg as the referee admonishes him.
The Finish:
Burke with a hesitation corkscrew elbow drop for a near fall. Batista kicks Burke off but when Batista misses a clothesline, Burke clips Batista and hits a drop kick for a two count. Burke goes to the second turnbuckle but Batista hits a spear on Burke and then he hits the Batista Bomb for the three count.
Winner, the World Heavyweight Champion, Batista
Backstage:
Michelle McCool is in the back and she is apparently talking to a production assistant when Jamie Noble comes walking into the area and he is singing. Noble is wearing a shirt that reads Noble 2 Pulambo 0. Jamie and Michelle mentions songs that might have been their inspiration. Jamie says that he loves that him and Michelle have the same sense of humor. Jamie mentions the spark that he feels when he is around Michelle and Michelle suggests that it isn’t a spark but it is her being nauseous. Noble offers to let Michelle come out to the ring with a winner, not some moped riding, leather jacket wearing loser like Palumbo. Michelle continues to insult Noble despite Jamie’s best attempts to woo Michelle. Jamie wants to know why Michelle is saying hurtful things and says that you hurt the ones you love. Noble says that when he wins again, she has to go out with him. Michelle accepts the deal. As Jamie walks away a more confident man, Michelle stands there and smiles in an uneasy manner. We go to commercial.

Jamie Noble vs. Chuck Palumbo
The start:
Noble goes for Palumbo’s leg and then he is sent into the corner by Palumbo and Palumbo chops Noble repeatedly. Chuck with a short arm clothesline to Noble followed by an attempted suplex. Noble with a kick to the leg followed by forearms and chops. Palumbo with an overhead belly-to-belly throw followed by punches. Palumbo sends Noble into the turnbuckles and then he hits another short arm clothesline. Palumbo with an Irish whip but Noble with knees.
The Finish:
Noble comes off the turnbuckles and Palumbo catches Noble and hits a fallaway slam. Palumbo misses an elbow drop and then Michelle McCool is loving getting on the apron as she teases Noble before slapping him. Palumbo tries to charge at Noble but Noble moves out of the way. Palumbo almost knocks Michelle off the apron but he stops short. Noble with a rollup for the three count.
Winner - Jamie Noble
The Aftermath:
After the match, Michelle is in the ring and she is loving being around a loser while Noble loves the fact that he is getting to have a date with Michelle.
In the arena:
We are now in the VIP Lounge and Montel Vontavious Porter is in the ring and he says that big things are popping and little things are stopping. Porter says that the VIP Lounge is for people who are better than you. Montel uses the term ‘World Class’ many times and he talks about the World Class DVD. He says that he was a huge World Class fan and he said that the best rivalry was the Freebirds versus the Von Erichs. It is time to look at some footage from the DVD. Montel Vontavious Porter brings out his guest and it is Michael P.S. Hayes. Porter is excited to have Michael in the lounge. Hayes says that he would rather stand despite Porter’s attempts for him to take a seat. Porter congratulates Hayes on the DVD. He talks about the people on the DVD who are no longer with us, but Hayes is still here. Hayes talks about how the Freebirds are wild and crazy guys. He says that there are repercussions for their actions. He points out how five of the six Von Erichs are dead. He says that the DVD’s message is say no to drugs. Porter calls Hayes a survivor and says that Hayes looks damn good for his age. Hayes says that he likes Porter’s style and asks Porter how old he is. Porter says that he is a lot younger than Hayes. Hayes asks Porter if he can tell time. Hayes says that Porter should be able to tell that his time with Hayes is up now. Hayes tells Porter that unless he wants his twenty year old self dropped by a forty-nine year old man then he better show some respect. Porter wants to talk about Hayes’s time line and how he is coming close to the end of it. He also talks about Hayes’s waist line and hair line. Porter talks about Michael Hayes’s relationship with the Hardys and how he feels that they are the sons that he did not have. Michael says that it is off subject and he wants to talk about the DVD. Porter reminds Hayes that he is the host and he talks about things he wants to talk about. He asks Hayes how he felt when Porter decimated and crippled Matt Hardy to get the weight off his shoulders. Hayes says that Matt and Jeff are their own men and that Porter will have a huge problem on his hands when Matt returns. Hayes mentions that Porter was pinned last week by Rey Mysterio. Hayes brings up Teddy Long’s announcement that Porter will be facing Rey Mysterio for the United States Title and he also suggests that Porter will lose the title to Mysterio. Porter brings up how Hayes was the third wheel in the Freebirds. He says that as a wrestler, Hayes cannot even lace up his boots. Porter calls Hayes an ‘old man’. Hayes says that Porter has no respect for the people like the Freebirds, Von Erichs, Ric Flairs, and Briscos. Hayes says that Porter has to worry about today because he is going to whoop Porter’s ass. Porter punches Hayes but Hayes fights back and sets for a DDT but Porter gives Hayes a back body drop and then he gives Hayes a running boot to the head. Porter gives Hayes a Playmaker. Porter says that nobody cares about the past. All they care about is the present and future. Rey Mysterio’s music plays and he hits a springboard seated senton. Mysterio punches Porter and then they fight over the couch. Porter leaves the ring.
Backstage:
Batista is in the interview area with Anastasia. She asks him about his match at Armageddon. Batista points out that he can lose the match without being pinned. Batista points out that he has a bad track record with Edge in title matches. He says that his matches with the Undertaker have been legendary and they have taken a toll on him but they have made him better. Batista says that he is ready to go to war.
Backstage:
We see Hornswoggle behind the wheel of Deuce and Domino’s car and they try to get him but he escapes them. Finlay tells them to be careful with Hornswoggle. Domino says that nobody touches their car. Finlay says that Hornswoggle likes red cars. Finlay asks Hornswoggle if he broke anything. Finlay tells him to break something and he breaks his antenna. We go to commercial.

Finlay and Hornswoggle vs. Deuce and Domino
The start:
Deuce punches Finlay but Finlay turns the tables and he takes Deuce into the corner. Finlay with a double leg take down. Finlay with a European uppercut followed by an Irish whip and running shoulder into the corner. Finlay with a side head lock take down. Finlay with a shoulder tackle and then he gets a near fall. Finlay with a front face lock but Finlay with a short arm clothesline and a seated senton for a near fall. Domino chases Hornswoggle and that allows Deuce to get an advantage over a distracted Finlay. Deuce slams Finlay’s head into the mat and then he gets a near fall.
The Finish:
Deuce works on Finlay’s neck. Deuce with a forearm to the back but Finlay with thrusts to the throat. Deuce with a jumping side kick to Finlay. Hornswoggle emerges from under the ring with a fire extinguisher and he sprays it on Cherry and Domino. Deuce grabs the fire extinguisher but the referee takes it from him and while the referee is not looking, Finlay hits Deuce with the shillelagh and gets the three count.
Winners - Hornswoggle and Finlay
The Aftermath:
After the match and before Hornswoggle and Finlay can dance a jig, the Great Khali’s music plays. While Finlay and Hornswoggle wait for Khali to come to the ring, Domino hits Finlay from behind. Deuce and Domino work over Finlay while Khali enters the ring. Khali with a big boot to Finlay and then Hornswoggle is pushed out of the ring by Khali. Khali with the Khali Krush to Finlay. We go to commercial.

Edge vs. Kane
Batista comes to the ring with his title belt and he joins Cole and Bradshaw at the announce table. Edge gets on the mic before his match and he demands that the fans show him respect while he addresses the love of his life, Vickie Guerrero. Edge tells Vickie that he wishes her a speedy recovery and she is in his thoughts and in his heart constantly.
The start:
Edge avoids Kane at the start of the match and Edge punches Kane. Kane throws Edge into the corner and he punches Edge and knocks him to the mat. Kane with a hot shot to Edge and then Kane works on Edge’s arm. Kane sends Edge’s shoulder into the ring post and then he continues to work on the shoulder. Kane with a punch to Edge and he continues to work on Edge’s shoulder. Kane with a big boot to Edge but he misses an elbow drop when Edge moves. Edge with a forearm to Kane. Kane tries for a slam but Edge gets out of the hold and hits a breakdown. Edge with a drop kick that sends Kane to the floor.
Mid-match notes:
Edge comes off the apron but Kane catches him and runs Edge into the apron. Edge with a running shoulder tackle that knocks Kane off the apron. We go to commercial. We are back and Edge with knees to Kane’s ribs. Edge with another kick to the ribs. Edge with a forearm and knees to Kane. Edge with a punch and a running shoulder into the corner. Edge with a seated waist lock to Kane. Edge with kicks to Kane but Kane tosses Edge away when he tries for the Implant DDT. Kane with running clotheslines into the corner followed by the side slam and Kane goes up top to finish off his moves of doom but Edge stops Kane. Kane punches Edge off the turnbuckles and then it is time for the jumping clothesline but Kane misses.
The Finish:
Edge tries for the spear but he runs into a big boot. Kane with a choke slam set up but Edge gets out of it. Kane with a clothesline. Kane charges into a boot. Edge comes off the turnbuckle and he is met with a rare uppercut from Kane. Kane goes up top and hits the jumping clothesline. Kane sets for the choke slam but Edge goes to the apron and drops Kane across the top rope. Edge brings a steel chair into the ring and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner by disqualification, Edge
The Aftermath:
Kane with a boot to the chair and Edge goes down. Kane hits Edge with the chair and then Kane goes for the ring steps. Edge with a drop toe hold that sends Kane’s head into the steps. Edge with a spear to Kane and then he puts Kane’s head on the ring steps. Batista leaves the announce table and Edge does not hit Kane with the chair. The lights go out but when the go back on, Taker has Edge by the throat and Batista spears the Undertaker. Edge leaves the ring and we go to credits.
