WWE Smackdown! Results - 9/14/07

WWE Smackdown! Opener:
Smackdown! opened up with footage from last week with the I Quit Match between Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero, with Rey finally getting revenge on his arch enemy, and then the Great Khali squashing Rey Mysterio's skull, before Batista made the save and Teddy Long adding him to the World Title Match at Unforgiven. Michael Cole and John Bradshaw Layfield then welcomed us to Smackdown! from Minneapolis, Minnesota as the fireworks went off in the arena, and we are just two days away from Unforgiven!
Referee: Joe Broni
Michelle McCool vs. Victoria
The music of Chuck Palumbo hit in the arena, as he made his way down to the ring on his motorcycle, with Michelle McCool on the back, and she will be in action here tonight against Victoria, accompanied by Kenny Dykstra. Cole mentioned that Michelle will be a bridesmaid next week in the wedding between Teddy Long and Kristal.
The start:
Victoria and Michelle locked up with Victoria backing Michelle to the corner. Victoria slapped Michelle, and Michelle went after her, but the referee held her back as Victoria was in the ropes. They lock up and Michelle grabs a side headlock, into a takedown for a two count. Victoria reversed with a top wrist lock and powered Michelle down, but Michelle bridged up until Victoria hit an arm drag. Victoria tossed Michelle down by the hair, and then locked in a rear chin lock with a bridge.
Mid-match notes:
Victoria went to a go behind but Michelle grabbed the leg to take Victoria down. Michelle did a hand stand and then slapped Victoria in the face. Victoria tossed Michelle to the outside, and then sent her back first into the apron. Victoria sent Michelle back into the ring, and then kicked at her. Victoria slammed Michelle face first into the canvas, and then rubbed her face into the mat. Victoria locked in a criss-cross chin lock but Michelle reversed into one of her own. Michelle did another hand stand but ate a clothesline for two. Victoria hammered away at Michelle and then sent her to the ropes, but ate a boot on a back drop attempt. The two traded chops and then Michelle hit a clothesline, a back elbow and a dropkick.
The Finish:
Michelle hit another dropkick and then hit a belly to belly for a near fall. Victoria bailed to the outside and then Kenny tossed his spit bucket water on Michelle. Chuck attacked Kenny and sent him into the ring and unloaded with right hands. Kenny took Chuck down as Victoria and Michelle rolled around in the corner as we go to commercial.
Winner - No Contest
Back on Smackdown:
Back on Smackdown, and it seems that this match has been turned into a Mixed Tag Team Match, as per the orders of General Manager Teddy Long.
Mixed Tag Team Match
Referee: Joe Broni
Michelle McCool and Chuck Palumbo vs. Victoria and Kenny Dykstra
The start:
Chuck Palumbo is in control of Kenny with a back drop and then a discus punch. Chuck sent Kenny to the ropes and hit a big takedown. Chuck nailed a delayed vertical suplex for a near fall and then worked Kenny over in the corner. Chuck nailed a slam and then a big leg drop. Chuck drove Kenny hard into the corner and then nailed more right hands on the former Spirit Squad member. Chuck went to work with some chops and more right hands in the corner, but then ate a boot.
Mid-match notes:
Kenny took Chuck down and then worked over the leg of Palumbo. Kenny hammered away at the knee of Palumbo, and then covered for one. Kenny locked in a leg hold as the fans got behind Chuck. Chuck kicked him off and then nailed another big right hand to Kenny. Chuck hit a back elbow knockdown, and then an overhead throw.
The Finish:
Chuck went for a big boot, but Kenny stopped and then bailed to the outside and tagged in Victoria. Victoria jumped on Chuck and he carried her to his corner and tagged in Michelle. Michelle tagged in and she nailed a big clothesline on Victoria, and then a back drop for a two count when Kenny broke the fall. Chuck clotheslined Kenny hard to the outside, and then Michelle hit a spin kick on Victoria for the win.
Winners - Chuck Palumbo and Michelle McCool
Backstage:
Teddy Long is backstage with Jesse and Festus and Long said he needs to get ready for his bachelor party. Jesse said Festus has the face of a party animal. Jesse said they are in charge of the party, and then Jesse brings in some hotties. Long said he is about to be a married man, as they all start dancing. Teddy's son Antoine shows up, and then Butch Reed came in. In comes the Major Brothers, and then Sergeant Slaughter and this party is underway! Teddy starts dancing away.
Tonight:
Finlay will take on Kane in the first ever Belfast Brawl.
In the arena:
The arena goes dark, and there is a druid standing in the ring. The druid rips off his robe, and it's Mark Henry. Henry gets on the mic and he says the Undertaker is not the only one who can do hocus-pocus. He said the Undertaker will bring all his power to Unforgiven, but his powers pale in comparison to Henry's. Henry said for those of you are ignorant, take a look at his powers. We go to a video package of Mark Henry taking out the Undertaker. Henry said that isn't hocus-pocus, that is reality. The arena goes dark and the gong hits. We then go to a video package for the Undertaker, which shows him in Death Valley, walking through the druids. The Undertaker then says "Unforgiven". The gong hits in the arena again, and Henry looks worried. A lightning bolt then hits, and it sets the Undertaker symbol alight. The Undertaker's voice is then heard, and tells Mark Henry that at Unforgiven, he will rest in peace! The Undertaker symbol burns above the entrance way and Mark Henry is freaked out.
Backstage:
MVP and Matt Hardy are playing chess backstage, and it's MVP's move. Matt tells him to hurry up and make a move. MVP said he will beat Matt at this like he beats him at everything else. MVP makes a move, and then Matt puts him into check. MVP sneezes and sends the pieces flying. Matt says that it's all good, because MVP has to go. Matt says they have a huge Tag Team Title defense at Unforgiven, and he got MVP a match tonight against Domino. Matt says the match is next, and MVP isn't happy. Matt says he will get the people cheering for him. MVP leaves and Matt says he will see him out there.

Jamie Noble vs. Shannon Moore
Jamie Noble made his way down to the ring for action, as we are shown footage of Hornswoggle getting the best of Noble last week. Shannon Moore didn't help Noble get out of the box he was trapped under last week, and Noble was none too pleased about that.
The start:
Moore took Noble down, and then Noble took control with chops in the corner. Moore came back with some chops of his own, and then hit a nice dropkick for a one count. Moore worked the arm of Noble, and slammed it into the top turnbuckle. Moore took Noble down and wrenched at the arm. Noble fought out, but then ate a clothesline. Moore locked in an arm wringer.
Mid-match notes:
Some fans chanted for Noble, and then rest of them chanted "sucks!" Moore missed a top rope move and Noble stomped at his head before covering for two. Noble locked in a front face lock. The fans got behind Moore as he got out of it, and hit a nice low dropkick to the face. Moore nailed an atomic drop and then a clothesline. Moore hit a spinning back elbow and then sent Noble to the corner. Moore charged in but was sent to the apron. Moore hit a shoulder to the gut, and then a headscissors to the outside. Moore followed out and went to the top, and hit a cannonball onto Noble on the floor.
The Finish:
The referee started his count as Moore tossed Noble back inside and covered for a near fall. Moore sent Noble to the ropes, but Noble came back with a uranage into a backbreaker for two. Moore rammed Noble tot he corner, but then ate a high elbow. Moore looked to the outside and then shouted Noble. Moore is acting as if Noble is under the ring. Noble went to look, and Moore rolled him up for the win! Moore has outsmarted Jamie Noble!
Winner - Shannon Moore
Backstage:
Kristal and Vickie Guerrero are backstage and Kristal said she is stressed. Vickie said she has her maid of honor dress and wants to show Kristal. They go into a room and it's a surprise party with Torrie Wilson, Extreme Expose and Michelle McCool. Kristal checks out some gifts and they start downing champagne.
Backstage:
MVP is bitching at referee Mickey Hensen backstage about having to wrestle tonight. The referee said MVP better head to the ring now, because his match is next. MVP is still in his suit.
Non Title Match
Referee: Mickey Hensen
Domino vs. Montel Vontavious Porter (c)
MVP made his way to the ring, still in his suit, as one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, and the United States Champion, and he has been forced into this match after his partner, Matt Hardy, set it up for him. Domino then made his way down with Deuce and Cherry. Matt Hardy then made his way down as the other half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, and we are set to go.
The start:
MVP is in his vest and dress pants down as Matt Hardy tried to get an MVP chant started on the outside. MVP and Domino locked up, and MVP took over with right hands. MVP sent Domino to the corner, and then hit a knee to the face of Domino for a two count. MVP locked in a side headlock, but then Deuce tripped MVP from the outside. Domino hit a big right hand on MVP and then mouthed off to Matt Hardy. Domino hit a slam and then a big leg drop for a two count.
Mid-match notes:
Domino ripped the vest off MVP and then locked in a head vice into a chin lock. Matt got the fans behind MVP and then got on the mic and started chanting "MVP" and then fans kept replying with "sucks!" In the ring, and MVP fought out of the hold but then Domino hit a double knee to the jaw for a near fall. Domino was distracted by Matt, and MVP rolled him up for two. Domino came back with a huge clothesline. MVP came back with rights and lefts but then Domino raked the eyes. Domino nailed another right hand ands then booted MVP. Domino nailed an elbow drop and then covered for a two count.
The Finish:
Domino hit a butterfly suplex as Matt Hardy started the "MVP" chant on the outside again, with the fans chanting back "sucks!" Domino locked in a rear naked choke but MVP fought out with elbows. MVP nailed a drop toe hold, and then Deuce got on the apron, but Hardy knocked him down. MVP was distracted, screaming at Matt Hardy for helping him, and Domino rolled him up for the win out of nowhere.
Winner - Domino
The Aftermath:
MVP is pissed as Matt got into the ring. Deuce and Domino have the upper hand heading into Unforgiven. Matt gets on the mic and said tonight, just moments ago, MVP showed everyone why he was the captain of this team. Matt started the MVP chant again, with more "sucks!" chants coming back from the crowd. MVP didn't know what to think as the fans cheered for Matt.
Tonight:
Batista will take on World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali in the main event tonight, for the first time on network television.
Backstage:
The party is still going on backstage, and Kristal opened up some presents. She takes her robe off and dances around in her lingerie, and then there is a knock at the door. It's a UPS guy, and Kristal thinks he's a stripper. He gets Kristal to sign for the delivery, and then Kristal opens up the box, and its freakin' Big Dick Johnson inside. Will this guy ever go away? He dances around with the Diva's as Cole plugs the wedding next week.
The World Champion:
Cole interviews the Great Khali about the World Title match at Unforgiven. Khali rambles as usual, and then Singh translates, saying that tonight, Batista is in store for a preview of Unforgiven. Khali said it doesn't matter how many opponents he has at Unforgiven, everyone will succumb to the vice grip. Long live the Great Khali.
Belfast Brawl

Kane vs. Finlay
The start:
Finlay attacks Kane as he makes his way to the ring with the shillelagh. Finlay hammers way at Kane and sends him into the barricade. Finlay nails an uppercut and then goes to whip Kane into the ring steps, but Kane reverses, sending Finlay into the steps. Kane knocked Finlay down, and then sent him into the ring. Kane kicked Finlay in the head, and then sent him head first into the corner. Kane chopped Finlay in the corner, and then stomped away at him.
Mid-match notes:
Kane choked Finlay with his boot over the bottom rope and then nailed a big uppercut. Kane sent Finlay to the other corner, and charged in, but ate an elbow. Finlay kicked away at Kane on the mat, and then covered for a one count. Finlay walked into an uppercut and then Kane nailed a slam. Finlay begged off, but Kane ripped him back into the ring. Kane nailed an uppercut, sending Finlay over the top to the outside. Kane followed out and rammed Finlay back first into the barricade. Kane nailed another uppercut and then sent Finlay back into the ring. Kane went to get back in, but Finlay knocked him back down with a baseball slide. Finlay hammered at Kane on the floor, and then nailed a short clothesline. Finlay rammed Kane back first into the ring barrier as the fans chanted for Kane. Finlay is in total control here as he slammed Kane's arm into the ring steps. Finlay is looking for Hornswoggle under the ring, but he's nowhere to be seen. Kane came back sending Finlay spine first into the ring post.
Kane charged in at him, but Finlay moved and Kane struck the ring post as we go to commercial. Back on Smackdown and Finlay is in control with an arm lock on Kane in the ring. Kane fights out with right hands but then Finlay takes him back down. Finlay hit a knee to the ribs for a one count. Finlay slammed Kane's arm into the ring apron and then grabbed a steel chair. Finlay nailed Kane in the arm with the chair and then placed the chair on top of the arm and stomped it. Kane is in big trouble here. Finlay rammed the chair into the arm of Kane again. Finlay takes the padding from the top turnbuckle and then Kane came back with an uppercut. Kane nailed some right hands, and then whipped Finlay into the exposed turnbuckle. Kane charged at Finlay, but Finlay moved and Kane went arm first into the turnbuckle. Finlay covered for a near fall, and then went back with the arm. The fans got behind Kane as Finlay stood the chair up in the ring. Finlay slammed Kane's arm into the chair and then went back to the arm hold. Kane fought out with right hands but then Finlay sent Kane shoulder first into the ring post.
Finlay slammed Kane's arm into the post yet again, and went to get back in the ring but Kane nailed a big boot on him, sending him to the floor. Kane followed out and sent Finlay head first into the barricade. Kane removed the padding on the barricade, and dropped Finlay head first onto it. Kane slammed Finlay head first into the announce table, and then back first into the apron. Kane has the top of the announce table and tossed it at the head of Finlay. Kane put the top of the announce table on Finlay, and then stomped it. Kane gave Finlay an uppercut and then went for the chokeslam on the outside, but Finlay thumbed the eye. Finlay sent Kane back into the ring and now he has the shillelagh. Kane nailed Finlay before he could use it, and then hit a clothesline in the corner. Kane nailed a side slam and then headed up top. Kane came off with the flying clothesline and signalled for the chokeslam.
The Finish:
Kane then sees the shillelagh and grabs it. Finlay sees it and goes for the other shillelagh but Kane stops him. Finlay begs off and goes for the chair, but Kane stops him. Finlay bails the outside, and Kane threw the shillelagh at him. Kane went out and nailed the big boot, and then tore apart the ring steps. Kane tossed the ring steps into the ring and goes after Finlay with them, but Finlay hit Kane in the ribs with the chair. Finlay then nailed the Celtic Cross for the huge win.
Winner - Finlay
Backstage:
Teddy Long is backstage and he's half naked, with just underwear and a tie on. Kristal sees him in the hallway and asks what he's doing. Teddy says she looks real good. Some of the bimbos try and get Teddy back in the room. Big Dick Johnson shows up and starts dancing, and then Ron Simmons shows up and the music stops and gives us a damn. Long asks what they should do now, and Johnson said the only thing they can do, party! Everyone started dancing.
Unforgiven:
We run down the card for Unforgiven, which is this Sunday night, live on PPV.
- The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry
- WWE Champion John Cena vs. Randy Orton
- No Disqualification For Carlito: Triple H vs. Carlito
- ECW Champion CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke
- World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali vs. Batista vs. Rey Mysterio
Non Title Match
Referee: Mickey Hensen
Batista vs. The Great Khali (c)
Batista makes his way to the ring for this Non Title Match against the World Heavyweight Champion, the Great Khali, and these two men will meet this Sunday at Unforgiven, with Rey Mysterio also added to the mix.
The start:
Batista hits some kicks and punches but Khali swats him away. Khali threw Batista to the corner, and then hit a clothesline. Khali kicked Batista in the corner and then choked him with his boot. Khali hit some elbows in the corner, and Batista drops down the canvas. Khali hit a big clothesline and then stalked Batista, going for the vice grip, but Batista blocked it. Batista kicked Khali but then ran into a big boot, sending him to the outside. Khali followed out but then Batista rammed him back first into the ring post.
The Finish:
Khali swatted Batista away and then sent him into the ring. Batista came back with a spinebuster out of nowhere and then started to fire up. Batista went for the Batista Bomb but Khali countered it, and laid him over the top rope. Khali hit the big chop to the head as the fans chanted for Batista. Khali locked in the vice grip but Batista is in the ropes. Khali won't break the hold, and is disqualified.
Winner by disqualification, Batista
The Aftermath:
The Great Khali continues to squeeze the head of Batista as he screams in pain. Batista starts to fade and he is out of it. Some referees hit the ring, and Khali finally lets go of the hold. The fans heavily boo Khali, and he has a huge advantage going into Unforgiven this Sunday. Khali held the World Title aloft as we go off the air.
