Welcome to this week’s Smackdown! The show begins with a teaser of things to come tonight. Triple H is set to appear tonight. Also, Dolph Ziggler is now the currently holder of the World Heavyweight Championship. Tonight, he will be set to appear to usher in a new era.
Big E Langston is welcomed out, as he he introduces Dolph Ziggler as the World Champion similarly to Ricardo Rodriguez. Dolph Ziggler makes his way to the ring, with AJ and Big E.
Dolph says ever since he debuts, he has been the most gifted athlete the business has seen. Ziggler says even that is an understatement. People could see in his eyes that he was the future, but the belt he holds proves the future is now. Ziggler says he heard everyone cheering him at Wrestlemania, in a match he wasn’t even in. Dolph says the insane crowd from Raw that watched him make history, all feel they are a part of this win. Dolph says the Universe wants to join in, but the moment belongs only to Dolph Ziggler. Dolph says he didn’t win the title because of the fans, but in spite of them. Ziggler says everyone has also tried to ride his coat tails, throughout his whole life. Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter interrupt.
Colter begins, by introducing himself to Ziggler. Colter congratulates Ziggler on his win, but also thanks him for being an American. As far as the championship is concerned, everyone knows to thank Jack Swagger. Dolph says this is his celebration, following by saying Swagger had his chance and blew it. Ziggler tells Swagger to get to the back of the line, because it is just his time. Colter says they can show their gratitude by giving Swagger what he deserves, but won’t wait for long.
Ziggler continues his rant, saying everyone can try to relieve the Raw moment, pretending to be the Show Off. Alberto Del Rio interrupts.
Ziggler asks if he is out here to steal his spotlight, because that is kind of his thing. Ziggler says he knows Del Rio wants his rematch right now, so dares him to come to the ring. Del Rio tells him to relax, and doesn’t want to fight. Del Rio congratulates Ziggler, saying he knows how it feels to cash in. Del Rio says when his ankle heals, it will be Ziggler complaining to him. Until then, Del Rio says hasta la vista, and winks.
Ziggler, now frustrated, continues his rant. Ziggler says the next person to interrupt him will see why he is World Heavyweight Champion. Chris Jericho interrupts.
Chris tells Ziggler to shut the hell up. Jericho says Ziggler has been talking, but has been babbling about his looks or crazy girlfriend AJ. As chant begins, calling AJ crazy. Jericho says Dolph claims to be the Show Off, but he is the original. Jericho says it is time to get rockin’, saying he just came from Booker T’s office. Jericho says he has interesting news for all his Jerichoholics and Ziggler’s “Dolphins.” Jericho says Ziggler’s first defense will be against Y2J. After his match, Ziggler will never eeee-ver be the same, again.
Team Hell No are walking backstage.
The Primetime Players are in the ring. Team Hell No make their way to the ring.
WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan and Kane) vs. Primetime Players (Darren Young and Titus O’Neil)
Kane and Titus begin, as Kane is hit into the corner. Kane reverse a whip, as Titus is taken out in the corner with a Clothesline. Kane dives off the top rope with a Larait. Darren is tagged, as he connects with an uppercut. Daniel is tagged, as Kane whips Bryan into Young. Darren is hit with a Dropkick. Daniel throws kicks to the chest, following with an Irish Whip. Darren kicks a bowing Daniel, tagging Titus. Bryan dodges a Double Clothesline. Kane Chokeslams Darren, as Daniel locks in Titus with a No Lock.
Winners: Team Hell No via submission
The Shield appears on the Titantron. They speak of the Brothers of Destruction being back together, as one big happy family. They say they hope no one thinks they backed down, they just calculated their strikes. They say they don’t back down, and can believe that and the Shield.
Santino Marella is in the ring. Wade Barrett makes his way to the ring. A highlight is shown, where Wade Barrett retained his IC Title on Raw.
Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett vs. Santino Marella
Wade and Santino lock up, as Wade gets a Side Headlock. Wade is pushes against the ropes, as he takes down Marella with a shoulder. Marella tries for a kip up, but fails. Marella pushes Wade, as Barrett connects with a Savate Kick to the gut. Pin, but a kick out. Santino attempts another kip up, but fails again. Wade pins, but a kick out. Wade locks in a Rear Headlock. Santino stands out, doing a Float Over from the corner. Wade catches a running Marella in a Winds of Change. Wade pulls back the arm sleeve, as Marella actually kips up. Marella connects with a Hip Toss and Saluting Headbutt. Marella goes for the Cobra, but Barrett kicks his arm. As Santino turns his attention to his arm, he is blasted with a Bull Hammer.
Winner: Wade Barrett via pinfall
A Wrestlemania video package is shown, highlighting events from the weekend.
Booker T and Teddy Long are speaking, as Sheamus comes up. Sheamus asks why Booker T put him in a match against Randy Orton. Sheamus says he should have known Big Show would know Big Show would attack them. Randy Orton appears, as he wants to know what they can do. Teddy assures both that he didn’t make this mistake. Booker T puts them in a Handicap Match against the Big Show. Booker glares at Long.
The Bella Twins and Tamina makes their way to the ring.
WWE Diva’s Champion Kaitlyn and The Funkadactyls (Cameron and Naomi) vs. Tamina and The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie)
Kaitlyn and Tamina start off, as Kaitlyn is taken to the mat by her hair. Tamina attacks Cameron and Naomi, as she is greeted with a Spear. One of the Bellas try to get in, as they are hit with a spear. Tamina tags a Bella, as Naomi is tagged. Naomi connects with a Headscissors Takedowns and the Rear View. Naomi goes top rope, as she kicks Tamina off the apron. As Naomi goes to dive, a Bella pulls her off the top. Kaitlyn dives on the Bella from the apron. A Bella gets the pin over Naomi for the win.
Winners: Tamina and The Bella Twins via pinfall
Triple H is welcomed to the ring. Triple H says he told everyone that the ass kicker is back. HHH says that he was going to war with Brock Lesnar, and did. 3MB interrupts.
Heath tells HHH to shut up and listen. Slater says apparently you have to jump one of the big dogs to get noticed. Heath says if HHH thought Brock Lesnar was bad, then he hasn’t seen anything yet. Heath says they are going to rock his face. The Shield interrupt. The Shield attack 3MB, for mocking their methods of justice. The Shield now surround the ring, as Team Hell No come for a save. The Shield retreat as Daniel Bryan, Kane and Triple H stand tall in the ring.
Backstage, Booker and Teddy are talking. Big Show comes in the ring, as Long runs away. Show asks why he is in a 2-on-1 match. Show is told that it is because he interfered in Orton and Sheamus’ match. Show tells Booker that he is biased, and can do what he wants because of his iron clad contract. Booker says he wants Show to walk, so he can take him to court until that contract is meaningless. Show is told his match is next.
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. A video package highlighting Orton vs. Sheamus is shown. Show attacks Orton and Sheamus during their match. Sheamus makes his way to the ring. Big Show makes his way to the ring.
2-on-1 Handicap Match: Randy Orton and Sheamus vs. Big Show
Orton starts off, as he attacks Show. Show misses with a punch, as Orton continues the assault. Orton is thrown into the corner, dodging a chop. Orton is put their again, this time dodging a punch. Orton kicks a bowing Show, after running the ropes. Show connects with a Sidewalk Slam. Show steps on the bandaged ribs of Orton. Show follows with a punch to the gut. Show connects with a Body Slam. Show goes top rope, going for an Elbow Drop. Orton misses, as he tags Sheamus. Show is taken to the mat with fists. Sheamus spears Show in the corner, following with a Knee Lift. Sheamus runs the ropes, but is taken down with a Spear. Show punches Orton in the ribs from the apron. Show drags Orton in the ring, as he RKOs Show. Sheamus follows with a Brouge Kick, as Show rolls to the floor. Big Show is counted out.
Winners: Randy Orton and Sheamus via count out
Sheamus and Orton are talking backstage, saying they have gotten some revenge. Sheamus is interviewed by Renee Young, as she says it took both to defeat Show. Sheamus says it doesn’t matter how big or strong you are, it is about their heart. From behind, Mark Henry attacks Sheamus pushing him through a table.
Antonio Cesaro and Kofi Kingston are already in the ring.
United States Champion Antonio Cesaro vs. Kofi Kingston
Cesaro locks in an Arm Bar, but Kofi reverses. Cesaro takes him down with a shoulder, following with forearms. Cesaro whips Kingston, as Kofi connects with a Sunset Flip. Cesaro gets out, connecting with a Double Stomp. Cesaro connects with a Gutwrench Suplex. Cesaro connects with a Running European Uppercut to a cornered Kingston. Pin, but a kick out. Cesaro locks in a Rear Headlock. Kingston stands out, but is taken to the mat.Kofi dodges another stomp, taking out Cesaro with a Dropkick. Kingston jumps to Cesaro, but is hit with a European Uppercut. Pin, but a kick out. Cesaro runs to Kingston, but is hit with a Momentum Apron Enziguri. Kofi goes top rope, connecting with a Crossbody. Antonio catches him, as Kofi gets out. Kingston connects with a Trouble in Paradise.
Winner: Kofi Kingston via pinfall
John Cena speaks of celebrating, by fighting for his WWE Championship. Mark Henry interrupts, saying trouble has found Cena. Henry gets his match, but not for the title. If Henry defeats Cena, then he will get his title shot. In the match, Cena defeats Henry after throwing him into the steel steps. Henry is counted out, as he attacks Cena post match. Ryback makes the save attacking Henry. Ryback goes to help Cena up, locking eyes with him. Ryback hits Cena with a Meathook, followed by a Shellshock. Ryback tells Cena to shove it, taking his belt and holding it high.
Fandango dances his way to ring, to watch the upcoming match.
Dolph Ziggler, with AJ and Big E make their way to the ring. Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring.
World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler w/ AJ and Big E vs. Chris Jericho
They lock up, as Jericho connects with an Arm Drag. They lock up again, as Jericho gets a Side Headlock in. Ziggler pushes Jericho against the ropes, as ZIggler is taken out with a shoulder. Jericho connects with a chop. Jericho connects with a Suplex. Ziggler throws punches, cornering Jericho. Ziggler splashes Jericho in the corner. Ziggler throws punches, whipping Jericho again. Jericho throws a kick from the corner, following with a Missile Dropkick from the top rope. Pin, but a kick out. Jericho chokes Ziggler against the ropes. Fandango gets on the apron, as Jericho runs the ropes. AJ grabs Jericho’s leg, as Dolph follows with a Fameasser. Pin, but a kick out.
Dolph connects with an elbow to Jericho’s shoulder. Ziggler pins Jericho with a cocky pin, but a kick out. Ziggler connects with a Neckbreaker. Pin, but a kick out. Ziggler connects with a Headlock and a headstand. Ziggler transitions into a bridge, but takes it back. Jericho stands out, but is taken out with fists. Jericho is whipped, as he starts to gain momentum. Jericho is sent to the apron, as he goes top rope. Jericho connects with a Double Axe Handle. Ziggler connects with a Jumping DDT. Pin, but a kick out. Jericho is whipped, as he Dropkicks Big E from the ring. Jericho goes top rope, connecting with a Diving Crossbody. Pin, but a kick out. Jericho is hit with a Dropkick. Pin, but a kick out.Ziggler goes for Zig Zag, but Jericho grabs the ropes. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Ziggler reverses. Jericho connects with a Lionsault, and pins. Kick out. Fandango gets on the apron, but is hit with a Triangle Springboard Dropkick. Ziggler goes for Zig Zag, but reverses into the Walls. Big E punches Jericho when the ref is turned, as Ziggler rolls him up for the win.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler via pinfall
Jericho attacks Ziggler, but Big E gets in the ring. Jericho connects with an Enziguri to Big E. Ziggler connects with a Zig Zag, as Big E follows with a Big Ending. Fandango gets in the ring, attacking Jericho. Fandango finishes with a Top Rope Legdrop. Fandango is given a mic, as he says his name.
