The three #1 Contenders celebrate as the show ends.

Keep refreshing this page throughout the evening for the latest updates.

  • Hi y’all! How is everyone? Ready to talk smack about some Smackdown? I finished the TNA BZ, and I stayed home just to hang out and watch SD with the fantastic WNW readers! Please don’t leave me hanging!

    • Alex Gallardo

I’m here. And I’ve been liking Smackdown as of late with all the big stars they have on now, really makes the show feel better than a B. Even though it really has shown how worthless the WHC title is.

      • Just to warn you, SD is usually VERY quiet here on WNW. David and a few others come out, but it just hasn’t taken off like RAW, and to a less degree, Impact.

Being Friday, people are out, but we’re going to see if we can build this up a little bit.

        • Alex Gallardo

That’s fine. It’s actually better like that. I won’t have to constantly take off my eyes from Smackdown to click on new comments.

          • David Jr.

Do you visit WWE.com? They had the 50 greatest WWE Entrance Themes, and I wonder if you agree with #1?

          • Alex Gallardo

            I don’t, but what was number 1?

          • David Jr.

            Real American.

          • Alex Gallardo

I liked his nWo Jimi Hendrix song much more. But I’m a Hogan mark so his theme song doesn’t make me like him more or less at all.

          • David Jr.

His NWO Jimi Hendrix theme wasn’t on there.

          • Alex Gallardo

I know, but I was just saying that if anything that song should have been on there.

    • David Jr.

Great Headline for your TNA BZ by the way.

      • Thanks! I owe it all to you!

        • David Jr.

You’re welcome. Just finished reading it. great tna bz.

          • Thanks! After all the talk we had last night, I really felt I needed to bring in a fresh set of eyes, and I have to say that Sam impressed me with her insight at 9 years old.

          • David Jr.

That was great, I’ve learned myself that children do have the best insights into things.

          • The deadpan way that she said, “It’s what’s best for business.” almost had me on the floor.

You understand, you work with littles.

  • Of course, SD had to start with Trip!

  • David Jr.

So Shield’s gonna to fight like 10 guys and to punish Daniel Bryan he has to fight them after they fight those ten guys?

    • Yeah, that didn’t make a lot of sense to me.

      • David Jr.

        Logically shouldn’t he be first.

        • You’d think!

          • David Jr.

Sometimes I think the WWE and TNA’s creative is run by the Scarecrow.

  • David Jr.

    Um is Naomi’s outfit PG?

    • Do we really care? Damn, she looks HOT!

      • Alex Gallardo

Being a gay person I don’t really see it. A girl has to be really hot for me to notice.

        • First off, I’m impressed that you’re so open, that’s something to be proud of.

I’m female and I see something very sexy in Naomi, and something very different, but also very sexy in AJ. I also find Nattie and Beth very sexy. When I met Beth I was in awe of how delicate she is while being so strong.

Each person sees what’s attractive to them. When I look at someone I see how they wear their clothing, because design is what I went to school for and it’s what I think about. I think that’s why certain Divas and Knockouts pop for me more than others – I’d love to dress them. When it comes to AJ, she’s a gamer geek, and that touches close to home, so I really like her and root for her to show that you can be a geek as well as strong and sexy.

          • David Jr.

Yeah AJ’s not your typical Diva, that makes her standout.

          • Alex Gallardo

Well I don’t find being gay a big deal so that’s why I’m open about it. And that has NOTHING to do with me liking wrestling, I’ve watched before I’ve found out I was gay so that has nothing to do with it. I would just be jacking off to Smackdown if that was the case. Anyway I do think Naomi has got a cool outfit even though I’m not one of those sterotypical gays so I’m not a fashion expert.

          • I’m so sick of stereotypes! My brother wouldn’t have known fashion or style of it bit him on the ass! His apartments always looked like they were decorated by old French women!

Honestly, I catch a lot of crap for being a wrestling fan. I must be watching for all the hot men. Sorry, but the three who turn me on the most are Nash, Foley and James Storm! They are not all the typical jacked wrestlers.

Honestly, there’s too many people who are not comfortable enough with themselves to be as open as you are. I guess what I’m saying is that it’s refreshing to see, and even more so because it’s not a biggie to you.

          • Alex Gallardo

Well the only one I really think is hot is Bobby Rhode and yes…. I think John Cena is hot too. Besides them I watch wrestling for the wrestling, nothing more.

          • For me I see Cena becoming more attractive because of who he is as a person, and where he comes from. His father is an absolutely sweetie.

I met John when he was young, before he started to bulk up, and I always see that little kid in him, and I feel dirty if I look at him as more than that.

          • Alex Gallardo

Well Hogan’s my favorite wrester and the guy looks like he’s been stuck looking like 40 ever since 1980s. So I don’t have to worry about any dirty thoughts.

          • David Jr.

I don’t find John Cena attractive, but working with kids, I hate people who knock John Cena the man, because the world need more men like him.

          • Cena’s father is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He is a heel manager, but face to face is a sweetie! It’s obvious to see where John got it from.

      • Why is it that AJ can wear uber short shorts and look both cute and sexy, but Mickie James wears them and looks like a raging skank?

        • David Jr.

Good question. I made the joke about PG, but I believe that Smackdown has always been PG even during the Attitude Era.

          • Before they moved to SyFy, they were on Fox, CW, or something, and they were specifically asked to remove Daivari and Hassan from the show because they were not PG enough for the network.

          • David Jr.

They were on UPN not Fox.
First UPN, then CW, then MyTV and finally SyFy.

          • I have a horrible memory for things like that. I’m not sure if it was UPN or the CW who tweaked about those characters on SD, but they ended up being pulled from the show because of the network.

          • David Jr.

I’m pretty sure it was CW, because I’m positive it was on a Friday and when Smackdown was on UPN, it was on Thursday.

          • You have a great memory for these things. I used to, but after a couple years of being very sick, I’ve lost a lot of my wrestling history. I go back and read some of the things I wrote and I’m shocked, because I don’t remember any of it. It’s getting better, but it’s taking a lot of work.

        • Noelz

It’s cause Mickie has a ridiculous lower end…not that aj doesn’t but Mickie is up there so the shorts just wear differently

          • I think a bit part of it is how they present themselves overall. AJ wears them and is acute type of sexy. Mickie is an absolutely overt sexuality showing off everything.

          • Noelz

            Agreed…speaking of…odds she’s coming back?

          • Alex Gallardo

I hope she will come back. TNA’s knockout division is way too small to have a good and proper division.

          • Honestly, I don’t know. Her work has stepped up again, and she’s back to looking like she’s ready to work the ring. When she was only focusing on singing, her ring work suffered, as did her figure.

The Knockouts are hurting right now, but it looks as though they’re actually hoping to work on the division. Not sure they can do what they need for the wrestlers – male and female – while cutting costs and contracts the way they are.

  • Alex Gallardo

My money is still on Natayla for new Divas champ, perhaps she’ll win the belt at SS. And that’s would be a good transition, compared to one of the Bellas winning the belt.

    • I’d love to see Nattie win the belt for so many reasons. Between her family name, and the fact that she’s carrying on the tradition, she’s worked so hard to get where she is, gets passed over so much, and really works hard at everything the WWE hands her, and her ring work is solid – most of the time. There’s been a number of botches lately, but I blame the ref as much as Nattie!

I’ve grown to like the Bellas more, especially Brie, from watching Total Divas, but their ring work just doesn’t live up to the likes of Nattie, or even Naomi.

      • Alex Gallardo

Well I think the Bellas do have a unique gimmick and characters, but they have some poor wrestling skills, not that it matters if you’re a WWE diva.

        • David Jr.

I’m sure dating two top stars doesn’t hurt either.

          • Alex Gallardo

Well they can’t help who they fall in love with, but I don’t think they get very special treatment because of their relationships. Nicki was only champ for a week last year and they haven’t held the divas title since.

          • David Jr.

Nikki Bella’s hurt. And if you are to believe Maria, then they do.

          • I agree, they really haven’t, from the outside looking in, been given anything special for who they’re dating. Brie was dating Bryan before he was a top guy, and no one who’s dated Cena has received preferential treatment.

  • David Jr.

WWE has more divas on Total Divas, 7 than Impact has Knockouts, 6 (but that’s including Mickie James who may be gone)

  • David Jr.

I think Santino Marella is one of those rare mid carders in the WWE. He is probably never going to be a main eventer, but he seems to put his heart into it. It doesn’t matter if it’s on Raw on SMS.

    • Alex Gallardo

There is no way anyone could take him seriously considering how long he has had this silly gimmick. And the gimmick is honestly starting to get old. The only chance he has to be taken seriously is perhaps TNA.

    • He does, and I adore him for it. I just wish he could show more of his sick ring skills, because he has them.

  • Axel actually looks really nice in that suit. I’d love to see him all buttoned up, but it’s nice to see him dressed in more than ring gear.

  • David Jr.

So with Ryback and Curtis Axel both with Paul Heyman, which one’s previous name was dumber?

  • David Jr.

So Kendra, last night Jesse went over 4000 comments, I told Jesse, Richard Gray should by him a car when he hits 5000, I think you should pass that on to Richard.

    • That’s funny! It might be a matchbox!

      • David Jr.

Jesse said he wanted a promotion.

        • To what? He can’t have my job and I’ve been here 5 years!

          • David Jr.

I don’t know you’d have to ask him.

          • I’ll have to slap him around!

          • David Jr.

He said “Lol! I’ll take just getting a promotion!”

          • He doesn’t like being my right hand man? So sad.

          • David Jr.

Maybe he wants a corner office.

          • That I have the power to requisition!

          • David Jr.

Besides the car, I also suggested that Richard should get him a trophy.
I am now 6th place in the comment lists, I just passed Gesus.

          • Wait, no, sorry, no corner offices. There is a lower tower office available though!

  • This Gauntlet Match is lame. I know why they’re doing this, but ugh!

    • David Jr.

I know Vickie Guerrero is a heel and we’re suppose to forget things that happened even a couple months ago. But I have a hard time seeing Vickie being on the same side as Orton, just because of the line, “Eddies not in Heaven, He’s in Hell”.

      • Wow, well, they carried over the storyline with Trip shutting down the match! Guess Vickie is still not doing what Trip wants from her.

  • Alex Gallardo

The more I see WWE2K14 commercials the more I’m excited I pre ordered the game. Even if I had to give up pre ordering GTA V for it .

    • Seeing it, I almost wish I was a video gamer. It looks good.

    • David Jr.

The one thing I can’t understand about WWE 2K14 game is there 30 years of Wrestlemania mode, they don’t have Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25.

      • And isn’t Piper missing?

        • David Jr.

Yes that’s the biggest omission from the game because without Roddy Piper there is no Wrestlemania.

      • Alex Gallardo

Well I can’t wait to play as Hogan again and I’m excited to see what they have in store for WWE universe mode.

        • David Jr.

Have you ever got to see Hogan wrestle live?

          • Alex Gallardo

Unfortunately, no. I have to see him live to cross one more thing off my wrestling bucket list.

          • David Jr.

I’ve seen him wrestle Sgt Slaughter at a House Show, wrestle the Undertaker at Survivor Series 91 (which was Undertaker’s first WWE Title win) and I saw him team with Edge against Lance Storm & Christian at Vengeance.

          • Dang! You’ve been to a lot of great events! Living in Maine is not conducive to many wrestling events.

          • David Jr.

I’ve also been to Wrestlemania 23 at Ford Field and the Royal Rumble that Randy Orton won.

          • Alex Gallardo

Wow! I’ve only been to ER 2012 and Payback this past June.

          • I went to the RR that ADR won, but I got to see Nash live and knock him off my Must See list!

Interestingly enough, I have never seen Steph, VKM or HBK. All three are still on my list, and about the only way I will see HBK is if I stalk him in Texas.

          • David Jr.

I got to see VKM shaved bald, Stephanie and Bischoff fight over who should get Triple H and HBK well besides in the Main Event vs. Cena at Wrestlemania 23, also I got to see him as a Rocker at Survivor Series 91.

          • Huh, I’ve never seen Rocky or Bisch live either, but they’re not at the top of my list.

          • David Jr.

I said Rocker not Rocky as in Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty.
Though I did see the Rock win the WWE Title against Kurt Angle and Undertaker. There are very few people I haven’t seen.

          • I know, I was just thinking through my fingers. Trying to think… Yes, I have seen Angle, but that was a TNA event.

          • David Jr.

The show I saw the Rock at was Vengeance 2002, Looking back at it, people who appeared were Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, John Cena (his first PPV match), Undertaker, the Rock, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam, and Eddie Guerrero.

          • Jericho ticked me off the first time I saw him live. He didn’t care to be there and showed it. He really was putting on a piss poor showing, and was being a total tool. He was tagging with Scotty Steiner and Scotty yelled at him a couple times to act professional and do his job. It took a long time for me to get over that.

          • David Jr.

If you watch Vengeance 2002, you can actually see me in the crowd.

          • I will have to go back and watch!

I will also have to start wearing wild hats to events when I’m able to go. Makes it easier to find people in the crowd!

          • David Jr.

If you go to the 9:13 mark, my cousin is holding the sign (which I still haven’t thrown away). I’m the guy between his arms with the Hogan bandana on.

          • I’ll watch after SD is over.

          • Alex Gallardo

Damn you’re lucky. Now I’m going to really strive to see him live.

          • I actually got to see him live at a small concert where Brooke was performing. My father hung out with Hogan, but Dad and I weren’t talking at that point, so I was shut out of it. I honestly don’t think he knew how much it would mean to me, or I think he’d have brought me in.

  • Wyatt deserves real fire in his lantern. That bulb just annoys me!

  • Alex Gallardo

The WHC title is just so worthless. For the second top title there is almost no buildup to his matches and that was his first appearance tonight.

    • I will agree, and I think ADR has been a big part of the problem.

  • David Jr.

I mentioned this last night, but since this is a WWE show, I’ll bring it up again. Del Rio’s loss to RVD by DQ at Night of Champions ended a 9 ppv winning streak for Del Rio.

  • David Jr.

Haven fans, who likes that Edge was made sherriff and seems to have a bigger role on Haven this year.

    • Spoilers!

      • I figured he was getting a bigger role, just from the commercials. I’m really behind on the show and need to catch up. I’m teasing about the spoilers thing, sorta.

        • David Jr.

It was on last weeks episode, I’m sorry didn’t know you haven’t seen it yet.

          • Not a biggie. It’s my fault for not setting up my DVR!

          • There! I set it to pick up all episodes. Last I saw was her going into the barn. And I missed a lot before that. So I have a lot to catch up on.

          • David Jr.

Is Haven, Maine a real city or made up for the show?

          • Like most towns used in Stephen King books, it’s fictitious. Some landmarks are real, like cities and towns around the fictitious cities, and the Royal River is real.

King is very good about creating towns for his books, and most of us up here appreciate that.

          • David Jr.

Most shows that take place in Michigan always are set in Detroit, so no one could ask me that question.

          • But Detroit is a big city. We really don’t have any of those up here.

  • So, Rikishi is first cousins with Roman, what does that make the Uso twins? Second cousins? Or is it something removed? I never understood this.

    • David Jr.

First cousins once removed, Uso Twins would be second cousins to Roman Reigns’ children.

      • Thank you! I’ve always been clueless about this.

When Roman was choking one of his cousins I was shocked at how much they really looked alike.

        • David Jr.

Roman Reign and the Usos break the Samoan stereotype of having big behinds dont they.

          • Being big and chunky in general. Joe doesn’t have a huge bum, but he’s not thin. Though it’s interesting that Joe is the one big Samoan wrestler that isn’t part of the Anoa’i family.

          • David Jr.

Before Samoa Joe, I wondered if all Samoans were related.

          • lol, it is kind of interesting how few others have really broken into the industry.

          • David Jr.

It’s also a shame we’ve lost some at a young age like Yokozuna and Umaga.

          • It really is.

          • Noelz

They lack big butts and I cannot lie…yea…I’ll see myself out now one

          • I always think that too. I had troubles not singing it under my breath when I met Rikishi. Then he started talking and I melted!

          • Noelz

I feel he’d enjoy it…I doubt he could resist backing that thang up in response

          • I was a puddle. That man has an amazing voice, and a way of looking at you that just messed with my head!

          • Noelz

That entire family has good genes out the arse…gotta be the best looking family in wrestling

          • Other than the cellulite on Rikishi’s bum, I agree!

          • Noelz

I feel like having a bum that big it’s gotta be hard to keep it tight

  • Scott Davies

I like with the Tag Team scene, even though they are not a huge thing this day & age. They all seem to have pretty decent gimmicks like in the 80’s early 90’s. I would not mind seeing more

  • Ricky

The Uso’s in a main event and going over? Are they finally getting a well deserved push?

  • awesomeness

Daniel Bryan needs to knock some sense into Orto
