WWE taped this week's edition of Smackdown tonight from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Thanks to Wrestling News World reader Isabella for sending us text-message updates. Below are full results:
Smackdown (Airing Friday on MyNetworkTV):
* CM Punk and Drew Gallows come out to open the show. Punk cuts a heel promo about New Year's Resolutions. It's announced Punk will face Matt Hardy in a Beat the Clock match. It's Beat the Clock night for a World Heavyweight Championship shot.
* CM Punk b. Matt Hardy in a Beat the Clock match.
* Dolph Ziggler vs. Kane ended in with a draw when neither could beat the clock.
* The Great Khali b. a local worker called the "Carolina Panther". It wasn't a Beat the Clock match and Khali won with a Khali Bomb.
* John Morrison b. WWE Intercontinental Championship Drew McIntyre via disqualification when McIntyre pushed Morrison into the referee.
* Mickie James b. Beth Phoenix with WWE Divas Champion Michelle McCool and Layla on commentary. After the match, Mickie was beat down by McCool and Layla. Beth Phoenix, in an apparent babyface turn, made the save.
* Rey Mysterio b. Chris Jericho in a Beat the Clock match. Mysterio beat the block by one second.
* The Hart Dynasty b. Slam Master J, Jimmy Wang Yang & Maria. After the match, Natalya put Maria in the Sharpshooter.
* Batista had R-Truth beat in a Beat the Clock Match but when he was going for the pin with only a few seconds left, Rey Mysterio (who was on commentary for the bout), pulled the referee out of the ring. Vickie Guerrero setup Rey Mysterio vs. Batista for next week to determine the true number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.
