WWE’s Biggest Blunders – Which Is The Biggest In Their History?

WWE is running a humorous poll over on dot com. The official website asks – Which of these was the biggest blunder in sports-entertainment history?

The choices are as follows:

  • The Shockmaster’s debut
  • Papa Shango’s voodoo curse on Ultimate Warrior
  • The hiring of Mike Adamle
  • The Kennel from Hell Match
  • Sycho Sid speaking on the mic
  • The lights going out at In Your House 8: Beware of Dog
  • Mr. McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania giveaway
  • WWE’s Brawl for All tournament
  • Formation of The Dungeon of Doom
  • Scott Steiner speaking on the mic

Results are not available after voting but there are some real gems here. Ouch to Mike Adamle, Sid Vicious and Scott Steiner. Remember Vince McMahon’s big giveaways? Sheesh, good times!

This is a easy one for me, most will probably disagree with me but I think turning Austin heel (while a great shocking moment) proved in the long haul to be a very huge mistake, that decision hurt the company so much more then it helped. The invasion angle that year proved to be a HUGE flop as well because they didn’t have the big names from WCW to make it believable or compelling. It took WWE a really long time to recover from the bad decisions of 2001.

I Lived the WCW/ECW invasion, but that was when I first started watching wrestling

        That’s understandable.

For me it’s Vince McMahon blowing his limo up to make everyone think OMG he died. It was in bad taste and should have never been done.

out of this list I would have to say Kennel from Hell match. it was so awful and nothing about the match was good. it’s one of the things I look back at when people say everything was better in the attitude era as an example that not everything was.

My vote goes for the Brawl for All tournament. The fans hated it, lots of wrestlers got injured. It was designed for Steve Williams to win and he got knocked out by eventual winner Bart Gunn. Stuck with Bart Gunn as winner, at Wrestlemania they pitted him against Butterbean, who demolished him in the first round.

They forgot titus o’neil puking on smackdown or the entire episode of raw on monday.

I personally think Steiner is hilarious on the mic even if it made no sense. at least he made it sound scary

    Where is the Gobbledy Gooker?

    • The Bops

I was at Survivor Series when the Gobbledy Gooker was introduced.
The only thing that saved the day was the Undertaker’s debut!!

  • James R. Powell

I am surprise the “birth of the hand” didn’t make the list. This would of gotten my vote over the others!

  • Herman Tank

Not up there but the Piledriver album in the 80′s whilst not a blunder was still pretty damn embarassing…

    • Nostaljack

Amen! Koko B. Ware’s braying is enough to put that slab of vinyl in the cut-out bin for all eternity.

  • Dufus

I think the death of Owen Hart was the biggest blunder.

  • James

Again WWE clearly shows that bullying is OK when they preach it is not. Let’s make fun of how people speak but at the same time telling young students to stop bullying

  • Nostaljack

There can never be anything worse than:

    1. The debut of the Shockmaster
    2. AWA’s Team Challenge Series

The Shockmaster debut destroyed the career Fred Ottman. The AWA’s Team Challenge Series played a very big part in destroying an entire promotion.

Katie Vick should be on the list even HHH thought it was dumb. I loved it when Team Hell No and Triple H were on screen and fan yelled Katie Vick and Hunter said hey we were young dumb and needed the money

  • BigMike

what about the whole “illegitamate kid” angle? or the Katie Vick angle? anything with that jackass roidhead Scott Steiner

  • Clint
