Ask WNW- CM Punk in the HOF, Outcome Of Shane vs. Undertaker, Ambrose Taking Bray's Spot Against Lesnar, Wasted Time At Fast Lane

Do you think CM Punk should be in the WWE Hall of Fame?

Absolutely.  If we are looking at the Hall of Fame as a legitimate Hall of Fame, CM Punk is a no brainer.  Punk is the longest reigning WWE Champion in almost a decade.  Not only that but he paved the way for smaller guys getting a shot because of their talent and abilities, and not their “look.”  People can think what they think about C.M. Punk, some people hate him, some people love him.  Regardless of what you think about him personally, you have to give the man the respect he deserves as a professional wrestler.  Not only should CM Punk be in the Hall of Fame, he should be the 1st ballot.  Now, with all that said, there’s a pretty significant chance that CM Punk will never be inducted.  The WWE Hall of Fame is a two-way street, and I don’t see either party wanting to participate.  WWE has already done a lot to remove the memory of CM Punk from their history.  They’re not erasing him exactly, but they’re not talking about him either.  CM Punk has also put his WWE days behind him.  If you heard the infamous Podcasts he did where he talked about WWE, it’s pretty clear those days are behind him.  The first rule of WWE is “never say never,” but I would say, sadly, it’s highly unlikely we’ll ever see CM Punk in the Hall of Fame.

How do you see Shane vs Undertaker panning out?

This question was one of the most popular this week for obvious reasons.  Shane McMahon’s return was monumental and one of the biggest pops in years.  Hats off to WWE for pulling it off and keeping the lid on his return, too.  I honestly, in the end, I don’t think our final match will be Shane vs. Undertaker.  I’ve heard a few different theories of what might happen, nothing official just speculation.  A few ideas I’ve heard that I’ve like are that Undertaker comes out and announces he won’t wrestle on Vince’s behalf and switches to Team Shane.  I’ve heard that Shane gets someone to represent his side in the match, so we end up with Sting or another wrestler vs. Undertaker.  Either way, I don’t think we’ve come to the final result.  It wouldn’t make sense because Shane is SUPER babyface in this scenario, and Undertaker is always the face so why would they be on opposite sides?  It’s either terrible booking or there is more to come.

Ok, I'm confused.  Brock is screwed by the Wyatt Family at Royal Rumble and a huge match for WrestleMania is planned, then switched to Brock vs Ambrose? This match seems like a waste of time.  Any thoughts?

This is fluid WrestleMania booking on display for all to see.  You have to realize that while that while Wyatt vs. Lesnar was the original tentative plan, the plans are almost always subject to change.  If WWE sees a better opportunity they are going to take it.  Yes, it looked like we were going to get Bray Wyatt vs. Brock Lesnar coming out of Royal Rumble.  Remember, though, we see most things in hindsight.  While we’ve been thinking Bray vs. Brock, for the last month WWE has been building Dean vs. Brock.  The most people thought they were just building up the triple threat match, but it looks like they were actually booking things through to WrestleMania.  You call the match a waste of time, but why would it be?  Dean gets to be in one of the main events of WrestleMania.  If Dean goes over it’s HUGE, and if he doesn’t then chances are Bray wouldn’t have either so it doesn’t matter who was in the match with Brock.  For more information on the Bray/Ambrose/Lesnar confusion and booking problems check out our premium article here.

I understand I am only paying $9.99 for WWE content, but on a pay per view shouldn't I expect more than a 20-minute promo that wasn’t even followed up on Raw, then a pointless throwaway match in Curtis Axel vs. R-Truth?
WWE has certainly taken some liberties with the fact that PPVs only cost $9.99 if you’re a Network subscriber, and lord knows if you’re not they’ve shamed you over and over again.  The problem is I feel like they’ve used the network as an excuse to be lazier.  Yes, they do have the right to tone things down a bit, but when you put on a PPV that people would say is at the same quality as a “strong Raw” then you’re doing things wrong.  It’s especially inexcusable to put the United States Championship on the line in a 2 out of 3 Falls match in the pre-show if you’re going to put a random throwaway match and pointless Edge and Christian/New Day segment in hour 3.  The Peep Show segment almost felt like something bigger was supposed to happen and fell through for one reason or another.  The most frustrating thing about the Peep Show and Axel vs. Truth parts of the night is that they were pointless.  Had they accomplished anything or moved a story along it would have been worth it, but they didn’t.  Fast Lane was, for all intents and purposes, a very good Raw that I paid $10 for.

The 3rd hour Peepshow type thing was simply to plug the show which followed the Pay-Per-View.

  • The New Day/Edge & Christian segment failed because of Edge & Christian. They couldn’t hang. Rock couldn’t either. New Day did what they could to make those segments work but whoever is working with them has work their rhythm and get on their level. They don’t so it doesn’t work. Of course, they had to do the segment with E&C because of the debut of their show on the network. That show is just awful – a huge disappointment. It’s aimless and totally silly.

    • Zack

Sadly I feel the same way about the E&C Show. It’s a bunch of funny 30 second segments smashed together with no purpose. It’s like WWE trying to do a version of Robot Chicken, except it always has the same two guys in every segment. Disappointing

      • Thing with that show, besides being awful, is they’re trying to recreate what made them so popular in the first place instead of coming up with clever stories.

        • Vomkrieg

          Reminded of “Fuller house”.

Part of a wave of nostalgia forced resurrections of ideas’s from 10-20 years ago for no good reason other than “i loved that as a kid”.

They also need to learn to work with others regardless. Rock is a good example. He came out and the segments usually always came out good regardless whom he was working with.

Not to knock then. I really enjoy them. But not at the Rocks level yet. Give them more time

      • I agree. The New Day don’t work like Rock. What they do is completely different. It’s different than anything else. On top of having me, they have a quick rhythm. Jericho could get there; Rock couldn’t. Rock does one thing incredibly well. New Day does a number of things very well. Heck, it isn’t even really about winning matches with them. They’re memorable regardless.

  • Vomkrieg

Considering the Godfather is going in to the hall of fame, the idea of CM punk not being qualified, regardless of what you think of the guy, is a joke.

No doubt he will get the Randy Savage/warrior treatment, kept out entirely too long until cooler heads prevail or someone dies

    • Birdee

It’s not like Punk is gonna show up and be in it. Relationship is too heated right now.

    • Snap

I’m thinking it may be more the Bruno Sammartino situation. WWE may want to put him in, say in a year when WrestleMania is from Chicago, but Punk is resistant.

      • Vomkrieg

Well, that required “cooler heads” to prevail as well. I agree, things are too hot right now, but the question isn’t “does he deserve to be there”, he does, it’s more “can both sides have a mature enough relationship to make it work, and when will it happen”

        • WWE’s HOF isn’t a real thing. Don’t sweat it.

          • BrettHD

At this point, not being inducted may be a bigger honor.

      • BrettHD

I don’t know that he would refuse to show up to be inducted.

Besides that, he’ll be back in a cpl years. Once he’s done in the UFC it’ll only be a matter of time before he gets bored. Plus, if he has any success whatsoever…. You can bet Vince will be on the phone throwing money at him the second he’s not under contract.
I’m sure six months of having their shows hijacked by people chanting his name, has to have made them perfectly aware that they f’d up royally in the way they treated him.

  • David F

if Koko B, Ware can get in than anyone can get into the HOF. It was a joke that Rikishi got in last year plus he did not even thank Too Cool in his speech

  • Mandy

I was shocked when I saw Axel and Truth fighting at Fastlane, worse when there was that pointless segment with E&C. WWE had the perfect chance to introduce a NXT tag team to the main roster but they choose to let the tag team division sink further. Its a mess!

  • Evon Callaway Bitterweed Reese

It may have been pointless in the R TRUTH and Axe match. But I enjoy getting to see Truth.

  • Mac McElyea

CM Punk and the Undertaker are my favorite wrestlers ever. I would like to see another Punk and Taker match.

    • BrettHD

I’d like to see CM Punk kick Roman Reigns in the nuts.
