Sting vs. Undertaker, Hogan Back In WWE, Main Event Of UFC 205, Disdain For TNA

Undertaker & Sting

I read yesterday about Sting still wanting a match with Undertaker. Do you ever see that happening and would you believe it would be a great swan song for The Undertaker?

Sting vs. The Undertaker is a dream match that a lot of people still want to see and as noted, Sting still wants to do it. However, I think the match presents all kinds of problems. Yes, it would be a great “swan song” for Undertaker but how do you book it? Does Undertaker lose at Wrestlemania again, thus diminishing what Brock Lesnar did or does Sting come back all for the sake of putting someone else over? I just don’t see the benefit of Sting vs. Undertaker at this juncture and I don’t think it’s worth risking Sting’s long-term health and well-being. His neck is in bad shape and I do not think he should be taking any more bumps in the ring. Sting has had a great career, he got to finally compete in WWE but he ran right into the politics that kept him away for so long. It’s time for him to call it a career. As for Undertaker, if WWE gets him back for 2017, it would be a good time for him to hang it up too. He’s one of my favorite WWE Superstars of all-time but every year it’s the same thing. Will he come back? He comes back, now how is he booked? WWE desperately needs to focus all of their energy on getting new guys over. Did you see the Raw viewership? Notice people aren’t even asking about currently storylines and programs because they aren’t engaged. WWE has so much programming people pick and choose when they’re going to watch and the widespread distribution of pay-per-views runs the risk of further alienating their audience.

Have you noticed WWE using Hulk Hogan in some of their commercials? Why is that?

Yes I have noticed and I believe Vince McMahon wants to see how people will react. Hogan’s latest controversy — the racist tirade on tape — isn’t his first controversy. He’s had scandals before and he’s recovered from them. I’m not trying to sweep what Hogan did under the rug either, his racist language was deplorable, but Vince knows he’s still an important piece to sell the WWE Network to lapsed fans. As long as Hogan walks on this earth, Vince McMahon is going to see him as a way to make money. As for when Hogan gets back on WWE TV is anyone’s guess but I’ve felt all along that he will recover from this Public Relations nightmare.

What will main event UFC 205 in your opinion?

If you’ve been paying attention to social media, it certainly looks like Conor McGregor is trying to use his Twitter to negotiate his way into the main event of UFC 205 after Eddie Alvarez called him out. However, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dana White seem to have other plans and are claiming the main event will be Nurmagomedov vs. Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight Championship. Either fight would carry plenty of intrigue, keeping in mind that Alvarez is the number one lightweight in the world and Nurmagomedov is undefeated. McGregor is UFC’s top draw and adds top value to any card where he is included. Other fights currently in the works for UFC 205, UFC’s debut at Madison Square Garden in New York City are as follows:

Main Card:

  • Tyron Woodley vs. Stephen Thompson for the UFC Welterweight Championship
  • Chris Weidman vs. Yoel Romero

Preliminary Card:

  • Donald Cerrone vs. Kelvin Gastelum
  • Thiago Alves vs. Jim Miller
  • Tim Kennedy vs. Rashad Evans
  • Marcos Rogerio de Lima vs. Gian Villante
  • Liz Carmouche vs. Katlyn Chookagian
  • Frankie Edgar vs. Jeremy Stephens

UFC 205 will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from Madison Square Garden in New York City. We'll have complete coverage here at

Why does everyone hate TNA?

I think there is a lot of frustration with TNA Wrestling amongst the IWC. People believe they had a real chance to take on WWE but due to the same issues that plagued WCW (albeit on a much smaller scale), it essentially suffered the same fate. What was once a growing promotion on a major cable television network, is now nothing more than an independent promotion hanging on to mainstream relevance. We stopped covering TNA over a year ago due to a lack of interest and I have not followed it.
