Do you ever see WWE holding Wrestlemania in the UK? Wembley Stadium can hold up to 90,000 people so would be a perfect place to hold the event.
This is a question we regularly get from people all over the world, and the UK isn't the only place we get asked about but it is one of the most frequent so I figured I'd take this on and answer it from a UK fans perspective. One thing to note about Wembley is it hold's 90,000 seats so that's not including room on the pitch for additional seating. I honestly believe if WWE held an event in Wembley they could potentially break the 100,000 people attendance mark.
Summerslam 92 was obviously the biggest event the WWE ever held over in the UK. The problem at the time really came down to the issues with the time difference and as a result there were very few live shows held in the UK on worldwide Pay Per View following this. If you had asked me this question five years ago I'd have said there is no chance. But the launch of the WWE Network really has changed the playing field when it comes to Pay Per View events in other countries. Who'd have thought we would see a live show broadcast from Japan like we did this year? And who'd have though we'd see a live NXT event on the Network in December being broadcast from the UK? The Network opens up so many possibilities now for WWE to take their biggest shows around the world because fans can now watch at any time, any where. I think it's only a matter of time until the UK gets one of the big four Pay Per Views broadcast from it's shores.
Do you have any clue what holds WWE/NXT from pushing Enzo and Big Cass? They have a great gimmick, are wildly over with the crowd and are very serviceable between the ropes. I don't get why they are not featured more prominently in NXT or on the main roster already.
I wish I could tell you why Enzo and Big Cass haven't received that main roster call up yet. They are without question one of the most popular tag teams in the WWE, never mind just NXT. I guess a lot of it comes down to whether creative has anything for them and if Vince/Triple H feel they are ready for that step.
It's fair to maybe say the injury to Enzo in 2013 when he suffered a broken leg while training caused the team to be pushed back from a call up in 2014 as Big Cass had to spend several months on his own until Enzo returned. They've only gotten stronger and better during 2015 and I would expect 2016 could finally be the year they make the move to the main roster.
Speaking of Enzo and Big Cass, they were guests this week on my good friend Kevin Gill's podcast, the Kevin Gill Show. To hear that as well as snippets from past episodes featuring WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley and WWE referee Drake Younger check out the interview here.
What would be the chances of John Morrison returning to WWE?
John Morrison has every chance of returning to WWE in the future. I know his name had previously been mentioned as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble and Morrison himself has previously said he would be open to a WWE return but he never specified when that return would happen.
Morrison is currently working for Lucha Underground, where he works under the ring name of Johnny Mundo. However I believe he is working there without a contract, meaning he is free to leave at any time.
If he were to come back to WWE I would expect to see him come back under the NXT banner. I believe Morrison has so much talent he can give to the stars of tomorrow and is the perfect man to act as a coach for them. I'd like to see him work the main roster again in the future as I believe Morrison has the talent to be a world champion but he's going to have to earn that spot before he gets there. Will he return to WWE in 2016? That's up for debate but once he finishes up season two of Lucha Underground then I guess anything is possible.
I'm watching my first live event in the UK in Sheffield in December when NXT tour the UK. Who should I keep my eyes on? And will there be any main roster appearances?
Coincidently Sheffield is also the same show I am attending when NXT hits the UK for the first time on tour next month. Stars that are due to appear are Tyler Breeze, Samoa Joe, NXT Champion Finn Balor, Bayley, Emma and Dana Brooke, and I expect other names will be announced nearer the time. The names I would suggest you keep an eye out for in my opinion are obviously Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Bayley, and if they are there I would recommend keeping an eye on Enzo and Big Cass, Blake, Murphy & Alexa Bliss, Apollo Crews, Hideo Itami, Soloman Crowe, Baron Corbin, The Vaudevillains and Asuka.
When it comes to main roster stars appearing on the show, unless it is someone like Tyler Breeze, Charlotte, Becky Lynch or someone who has not long moved up to the main roster then I think that defeats the whole object of bringing us the stars of the future. Any main roster name is likely to steal the limelight because of who they are. I would imagine you may get someone like Rhyno or Zack Ryder at a push but certainly don't expect to see the likes of Dolph Ziggler or Cesaro on the card.
Whatever the case though it will be a great show and experience and I hope anyone who attends any of the shows including the live show in London on December 16th enjoys themselves.
