The Beast vs. The Guy

Through the years, we’ve seen Roman Reigns play the role as the guy who has to live up to his family’s name and image, carry on their legacy and represent them in a very fashionable manner. Ever since the first breakup of ‘The Shield,’ Reigns has been getting booed out of almost every arena across America. People think that he’s being handed a lot of the things he gets in WWE because of who his family is. He goes out there to prove that he’s as good as he says he is night in and night out. There’s a lot of people who have been feeling like he shouldn’t be in one of the main events at this year’s WrestleMania. Finn Balor was one of the favorites to go up against…THE REIGNING….DEFENDING….UNDISPUTED UNIVERSAL CHAMPION……Brrrrrrrr-OCK!!! LESNARRRR!!!

Honestly, who can blame everyone for wanting to have that match take place? Ever since Lesnar faced ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles at Survivor Series, even I wanted to see how ‘The Leader of the Balor Club’ would do if he went toe-to-toe with Lesnar. I do feel like Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar had unfinished business on “the Grandest Stage of Them All.” After all, Seth Rollins decided to ruin their first bout a few years back by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and winning the WWE Championship. “My goodness Seth, how dare you?” Jovan said in a sarcastic manner. Nonetheless, Finn Balor isn’t in the main event, Roman Reigns is. He probably feels like he has something to prove still.

Maybe he does if you think about it. These two men are the only two men to defeat the Undertaker at WrestleMania. They put the “2” in “23-2.” The thing that sets Brock Lesnar apart from Roman Reigns is that he was the first one to beat “The Deadman” at WrestleMania. Not to mention, he is, dare I say it again, “THE REIGNING….DEFENDING….UNDISPUTED UNIVERSAL CHAMPION….”Brrrrrrr-OCK!!! LESNARRRR!!! Roman doesn’t necessarily have pressure on his shoulders but he will need to put on a good show to make himself look good for his reign as champion if he wins.

What we have is the clashing of two monstrous, powerhouses. Both of them are considered baby faces. Difference is, nobody likes Roman Reigns being a face right now. He will probably get most of the boos on the night of and the night after WrestleMania. Honestly, I’d have Reigns be the bad guy. He embraces the boos anyway. WWE just loves to have Roman Reigns play Superman and overcome the obstacles, trying to get him to be a good guy for the WWE Universe. It just doesn’t really make a lot of sense on why they are so held-bent on keeping him as a baby face. Lesnar really doesn’t care whether he’s booed or cheered because he naturally a badass. People actually like him though. They actually love to hate him and love to love him. As for Roman Reigns on the night after WrestleMania? If he wins the title, Reigns is going to come out and cut a “booed-infested,” crappy promo on how he’s “the Big Dog” who’s the new WWE Universal Champion. The whole rivalry should be pretty interesting! Just look out for the post-match or “night after WrestleMania” Raw. There’s always a “Dominator” who’s a free agent that wants to return to WWE.
