Chris Jericho should win the Royal Rumble

Chris Jericho

It's that time of year again WWE’s time, for the Royal Rumble. The Road to WrestleMania will kick-off Sunday, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Thirty men will have a chance to headline WrestleMania, all the have to do first, win the Royal Rumble.

The Royal Rumble match itself is always exciting. There is always so much hype and speculation surrounding the Rumble, that it always keeps fans guessing. Guessing which legends will return, which NXT Superstars will debut, and most importantly, who will win. This year is no exception, as some big names are being thrown around. Names like Roman Reigns, John Cena, Finn Balor, Dolph Ziggler, and Shinsuke Nakamura. All great Superstars, but are they the right guy, right now? A name that hasn’t been thrown around much is Chris Jericho.

Chris Jericho has done just about everything during his tenure in WWE; everything except win the Royal Rumble.

Chris Jericho is arguably the most popular wrestler in the world right now; which makes him a great pick to win the Rumble.

Chris Jericho started off 2018 with a bang, as he was the co-main event of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s, Wrestle Kingdom 12. At Wrestle Kingdom 12 Jericho faced arguable the best pro-wrestler in the world, Kenny Omega.

The match between Jericho and Omega was highly anticipated, and quite arguable was the biggest match in the history of New Japan. The match was very successful, and it brought a lot of new eye to the New Japan brand.

New Japan World subscribers jumped from 70,000 to 95,000 users. These numbers, undoubtedly a direct result of the Jericho and Omega match. Jericho got the pro-wrestling world buzzing with his match against Omega. Maybe he could do it again, by winning the Royal Rumble.

Jericho winning the Rumble match would, more than likely, put him on a collision course with AJ Styles. Styles hasn’t had a real high profile match since regaining the WWE Championship, and Jericho is always a top draw when he returns to WWE. Jericho and Styles would also be easy to promote; mainly because of the history between them. AJ Styles and Chris Jericho already had a match at WrestleMania 32, which Chris Jericho won. WWE could use Jericho’s win at Mania, along with a Rumble win, and the addition of the WWE Championship to renew the rivalry between Styles and Jericho.

At Wrestle Kingdom 12 Jericho reminded everyone that he is still a main event talent, and a win at the Royal Rumble will only add to his legacy. WWE needs a big star to win the Royal Rumble, and right now there is no bigger star than Chris Jericho...."Drink it in man."
