Hello WNW People! Mitch “Big M” Adams here welcoming you to another edition of…The Smackdown Breakdown. Which is, of course, an opinion based review of Smackdown Live each week if you did not know that before! So without further ado, let’s get stuck into what happened on Smackdown Live this week, shall we?

KO’s Highlight Reel: Owens, Nakamura, Corbin & Zayn > B+
KO is the world's most perfect heat magnet! He is a textbook example of a heel so good at his job people love him for it. And I don’t want to hear anything about Nakamura’s English not being understandable! Yes, his accent is heavy, but he clearly speaks English fluently. Baron Corbin still needs to work on his mic game, but the Cartman line did make me chuckle. And I loved the passion that came from Sami Zayn! All in all, it was a solid segment. Nothing blew me away, but everyone looked solid!

Shinsuke Nakamura & Sami Zayn def Kevin Owens & Baron Corbin > B
I was actually a little disappointed in this match! It wasn’t bad in any sense of the word, and I do realize that it was TV match. But with the amount of talent in the ring, I honestly expected a lot more.

Uso’s Promo & New Day Smackdown Debut > D-
I can’t stand the Uso’s promo style! The half shouting match/half freestyle rap just makes them look dumb, not cool. And we all know how I feel about The New Day and their childish gimmick. The only reason this doesn’t get an F is because I’d never hear the end of it if I gave this segment that grade.

Fashion Files: Film Noir Skit > C-
This started so well with Fandango doing the whole private detective in an old Noir Film bit, but it fell completely off the rails when Breeze entered into the segment. Breeze cross-dressing and Breezango communicating via telepathy? Seriously Smackdown writers? You can do so much better than this, and Breezango deserve better writing than this!

Five Way Women Division Brawl > A
Holy Crap, that was simply AWESOME! I loved every last moment of this. From the fact, everyone involved got to look like a million bucks to the tease of who was going to go through the announcer's table (I’m glad Natalya can still lay claim to being the only woman to be put through one of those as far as I know).

And as far as Shane McMahon announcing the first ever Women’s MITB Ladder match…IT’S ABOUT BLOODY TIME! These girls are going to kill it at the PPV/Network special I have no doubt.

I know Perry Saturn clotheslined Chyna through a table, but that was possibly the wimpiest someone has gone through a table. I'm sure there have been at least one or two others during the Attitude Era when things were so hardcore. The Divas surely didn't put each other through announce much, if at all, because they were barely better than glorified models prancing around the ring. It wasn't until this Women's Revolution that they were worth watching again, and I'm thrilled that they're going there again.)

Breezango def Primo & Epico > F
Haven’t we seen this match and Breeze dressing up in the same costumes and using the same props to win a match? Again, Breezango have proven that they deserve better than this!

In-Ring Promo: Randy Orton & Jinder Mahal > A&F
For weeks now I’ve felt Randy was just going through the motions in the ring and especially on the mic. But this week he showed us the passion he’s sorely been missing. I loved the stuff about his late great grandfather and the emotion in Randy’s voice when he spoke about him was obvious. This was the best promo he has cut in years! Maybe all the fun Indie workers have been having at his expense has lit a fire under his arse?

Well, that was the A grade portion of this segment written LOL. Look, I’m really am trying to keep an open mind with Jinder’s title push, but if he keeps cutting promo’s like this and working lackluster matches, then I just simply can’t endorse WWE’s decision to strap him a month after he was jobbing to guys like Mojo Rawly! I genuinely do hope he can somehow make the most out of this tokenistic push he has been given (due to WWE expanding in India) because if there is one thing, WWE desperately needs its diversity. But honestly, I just don’t see it working out at all!

Dolph Ziggler def AJ Styles > B
I find it very curious that AJ has been going through a bit of a losing streak considering how over he is. Could that be an indication that’s he’s the next Mr. MITB? These two are incapable of putting on a bad match, and Dolph deserves a strong win on TV, but just like the opening match of the show…I honestly expected a little more!

Overall Grade > B-
After Raw’s disasterous TV rating this week, Smackdown is in with a real chance of beating them this week. After all, even so-so episode of Smackdown is better that than the usual large heapings of crap mixed with the one or two great parts that make up Monday Night Raw every week, isn’t it?

And that ladies and gents was the Smackdown Breakdown.
