Hello WNW People! Mitch “Big M” Adams here welcoming you to another edition of…The Smackdown Breakdown. Well, I don’t know about you guys, but I think the Blue Brand actually fared pretty well in the Superstar Shakeup. I’m going to miss writing about people like Dean Ambrose and Alexa Bliss, who never failed to be a highlight for Smackdown every week. But I am super pumped to start covering all the trash faces who now call the Blue Brand home.

So, without further ado, let’s get sucked into what happened on this week's Smackdown, shall we?

Opening Segment: Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan > A-
KO coming to Smackdown after Ambrose went to Raw was to be expected. Even with all the rumours of Triple H starting a new stable on Raw that would have featured him, I firmly believe this is the best move for him, considering what a meal creative and higher-ups made of his Universal Title reign. Smackdown is consistently the far better-written show, and a man of KO’s talents will thrive in Smackdown’s environment.

Sami Zayn being on Smackdown is what so many fans have been hoping would happen since the brand split. With Vince putting more of his influence on Raw than Smackdown, there was no way Sami would ever succeed on the Red Brand. But, now he finally has a chance to shine as a member of Team Blue. I do feel a little sorry for Kendra though! She has always loved Sami Zayn, and I know she’ll miss writing about him in the RIB. Although, most of that is probably due to her love affair with red heads. As a ginger myself, her obsession with my fellow soulless brethren worries me sometimes LOL.

Baron Corbin continues to get better and better each week, but man alive he needs to work on his promos. It’s painful listening to him talk sometimes! Honestly, if I were him, I’d start spending my free time at the Performance Center taking a few extra promo classes. Because quite frankly he very badly needs them!

It looks like AJ Styles has turned babyface, thank goodness! Don’t get me wrong, he was okay as a heel, but the man is so universally loved that no one wanted to boo him no matter how bad he acted. Kind of like no one wants to cheer Roman Reigns no matter how good he acts (for more on this, check my latest House of “M” titled RIP The Career of Roman Reigns).

And to put a cherry on top of an already awesome segment, Bryan came out and announced a triple threat between Corbin, Zayn, and Styles. Oh yeah, Smackdown is going to be just fine after the Superstar Shake Up with matches like this!

Randy Orton vs Erick Rowan > F
Erick Rowan is still on Smackdown, and yet he’s still a member of the Wyatt Family? Bray is on Raw, but he’s still wrestling Orton for the WWE Title in a “House of Horrors” Match? The WWE Title is being defended at Payback a Raw PPV/Network Special? I thought the brand split was meant to be a…split! I have had mixed feelings about the way the Orton/Wyatt storyline has been booked from day one, and after the travesty that was their match at Maina plus this confusing shit, I have no problem calling the whole thing a flop! Bray has one of the most unique and creative gimmicks in history, and WWE has no bloody idea what to do with it.

No wonder Bray Wyatt is so frustrated backstage! The match itself between Orton and Rowan was very forgettable. Without Bray, I don’t see much of a future for Erick Rowan in WWE at all.
Winner: Randy Orton via DQ

WWE Tag Team Title Match: The Usos (c) vs American Alpha > A
One thing the Blue Brand has yet to do is capitalise on it’s Tag Team Division which, despite popular belief, is actually quite deep. And matches like this prove it! These two teams only had ten minutes to work with, but boy did they make every single one of them count. Great match!!!
Winners: The Usos

Mojo Rawly vs Jinder Mahal > D
So, Mojo Rawly is getting a solo push on Smackdown with Zack Ryder out injured “Groan!” Well, at least he gave Jinder a receipt for that reckless forearm shot to Finn Balor on Raw. I can’t imagine Jinder is a very popular person in either locker room right now after his careless and dangerous actions in that match with Finn. If I were Jinder, I’d avoid members of a certain club at all costs!
Winner Mojo Rawly

Shane McMahon’s State Of The Women’s Division Address > A
I was so sad to see Smackdown had lost Alexa Bliss, but I was beyond relieved my beautiful Irish Rose Becky Lynch did not show up on Raw this week. I will die a happy man if I get to keep writing about her in the Breakdown for the foreseeable future. I don’t care if that sounds creepy! I am smitten with that Lass-Kicker, and I don’t care who knows it!

I know Kendra is happy to be no longer writing about Charlotte and her screechy promos, but I am actually looking forward to seeing her on Smackdown. Not the screechy promo bits obviously, but her working with Becky Lynch or Naomi will be awesome.

I loved the troll Shane pulled on the audience with Tamina, but I wish people wouldn’t have been so upset by it! Tamina is no door prize I can assure you. Yes, injury and matters in her family life have plagued her career. But trust me when I tell you she’s tough as nails and way better in the ring than people give her credit for! All in all, the future of Smackdown’s women’s division looks very bright indeed.

Tye Dillinger vs Aidan English > B
With Simon Botch...I mean Gotch gone, it looks like English is going to run with the singer gimmick he ran with in NXT. I know fear for his WWE career! But hey, at least Ty Dillinger looked good.
Winner: The Perfect Ten

In-Ring Segment: Dolph Ziggler & Shinsuke Nakamura > A
Dolph Ziggler vs Shinske Nakamura? YES YES YES!!! I can’t wait to see these two mix it up!

Triple Threat U.S. Title #1 Contender Match: AJ Styles vs Sami Zayn vs Baron Corbin > A
All three of these men put on a great performance and gave this episode of Smackdown an awesome main event. I am so excited for the careers of Sami and Baron. These two will be champions by the end of 2017 mark my words! And for all those people who think Styles challenging for the U.S. Title in the future is a step-down...RELAX. Any match Styles is in is the main event, trust me. Besides, this is only being done to give him something to do until the Bray/Orton storyline has finally and mercifully ended!
Winner: AJ Styles

Overall Grade > B+
I can’t believe people thought Smackdown got shafted in the Superstar Shakeup. If this week's episode is any indication…the Blue Brand will be just fine!
