Welcome everyone to WNW’s Hell in a Cell 2015 Predictions. As you can tell, I'm not Jesse Sherwood, as he has some stuff to take care of so I'm filling in for him. Tonight's Hell in a Cell event will be emanating from the Staples Center in the Los Angeles, California. Doing predicts this time around we have CJ Blaze, myself, and Zack Krasney providing full predicts, while Moose, my son Thomas and daughter Amelia (He's four years old and she's three years old, so go easy on them) are doing quick picks. Let's get this show on the road!
Dolph Ziggler, Neville & Cesaro vs. Rusev, Sheamus & King Barrett (Kick-off Match)
In a rematch from Monday’s Raw, Cesaro, Neville, and Dolph Ziggler will team up to take on Sheamus, King Barrett, and Rusev on the Kickoff Show. I have no problem with this happening because everyone involved is deserving of a pay-per-view match. It is my hope that this “storyline” will lead to a Traditional Survivor Series Tag Team Match next month with most of these guys involved. Who walks away with the win here? Seeing that it’s the pre-show match, and because the heels won on Raw, I say the babyfaces go over.
CJ's Predicted Winner - Dolph Ziggler, Neville & Cesaro
I can't believe this match is only on the pre-show. The six men in this match deserve to be on the main show but I guess being bumped down there can happen at any moment. I personally hope this match is just a build to something bigger, and with Surivor Series coming up I could see a more traditional match happening on that card. This match has the ability to be a fantastic opener and a big incentive for the six men involved to show why it was wrong to put them on the pre-show. I think we're more likely to see an upset in this one with some kind of screwy finish involving all six men hitting their finishers before they take it home. For this to continue I'm calling a cheap win for Barrett, Sheamus and Rusev.
Jamie's Predicted Winner - Rusev, Sheamus & King Barrett
Look at all the talent in this match! Look at it all! Now watch as WWE shoves it into the toilet and flushes it down the drain in the pre-show. Honestly I’m blown away by WWE’s ability to waste some of their very best talent. I would say at least 3 of these guys deserve to be at a world championship level in the WWE and CERTAINLY not in the pre-show. There continues to be head scratching by both the fans and the creative team. The creative team is scratching their heads wondering what to do about a lack of main event talent, and fans scratch their head wondering why WWE is so blind to the talent they have. Not only is this match a waste of some great wrestlers, but we saw this exact match on Raw this week! Not only is it incredibly wasteful of IWC fan favorites, WWE is literally wasting their own pick for future WWE Champion! It’s one thing to crap on Ziggler and Cesaro and Neville and Rusev, lord knows they’ve done that enough as it is, but WWE has Sheamus wasting away in the pre-show. Sheamus has been one of the least pushed Money in the Bank contract holders in recent memory. The worst thing is, this match will be really good! The match on Raw certainly was. That’s what happens when you stick a bunch of talented performers in a match together. I say faces go over to get the crowd excited.
Zack's Predicted Winner - Dolph Ziggler, Neville & Cesaro
Moose's Predicted Winner - Dolph Ziggler, Neville & Cesaro
Thomas' Predicted Winner - Dolph Ziggler, Neville & Cesaro
Amelia's Predicted Winner - Dolph Ziggler, Neville & Cesaro
The New Day (C) vs. The Dudley Boyz - Tag Team Championship Match
The only reason I’m looking forward to seeing another tag team match between The Dudley Boyz and The New Day is because we should see new Tag Team Champions. Xavier Woods interfered in their previous matches at Night of Champions and WWE Live from MSG, so it’s time for the shenanigans to be over. After The New Day is tossed aside, I predict two members of The Wyatt Family will step up to challenge The Dudley Boyz over the next few months.
CJ's Predicted Winner - The Dudley Boyz
It's the battle of the tables and the unicorns, but just who is going to come out on top. We've seen these two teams face off a couple of times now and while they have put on some great matches I think it's time to see this one come to an end. New Day have gone from strength to strength since winning back the Tag Team Championships and that is in no small part down to what a tremendously talented trio they are. The Dudley's are looking for their tenth WWE Tag Team Championship and have looked absolutely amazing since their return to WWE. I'm seeing that tonight is the night WWE makes history for the Dudley's and they finally get their moment as the ten time champions. Expect their to be some kind of screwy interference from the third New Day member, but don't be surprised to see the Dudley's have some back up to counter that before this one is over.
Jamie's Predicted Winner - The Dudley Boyz
I’m actually really torn as to who I think is going to win this match. From everything I’ve heard the Dudley Boyz are set to pick up the victor for the titles at some point, and they haven’t been successful yet. Also, even though everyone loves the New Day at this point, they are technically the bad guys, and the Dudleyz are the good guys. The good guys are probably going to have to win at some point. Plus, it keeps the rivalry going if the Dudleyz pick up the win and take the titles. That said, the New Day is more on fire than ever. To be fair, I don’t think a loss is going to damage them at this point, but it’s never a good idea to throw on unnecessary losses left and right either. I think a well placed loss here could work, especially if it keeps the New Day and the Dudley Boyz feuding. I’m loving this rivalry so I’m all for keeping it going.
Zack's Predicted Winner - The Dudley Boyz
Moose's Predicted Winner - The Dudley Boyz
Thomas' Predicted Winner - The Dudley Boyz
Amelia's Predicted Winner - The New Day
Charlotte (C) vs. Nikki Bella - Divas Championship Match
Nikki Bella will receive her Divas Championship rematch against Charlotte at Hell in a Cell. Why Paige, Natalya, or even Sasha Banks couldn’t have been added to make this a little more exciting beats me. Their match at Night of Champions was decent, but I really didn’t think it was as great as some fans made it out to be. Charlotte should certainly retain here so we can continue to have this Divas Revolution without The Bella Twins being the focus.
CJ's Predicted Winner - Charlotte
While I would have liked to have seen a triple threat match of fatal four way involving Paige and Sasha Banks, I guess we may have to wait until Survivor Series or after before seeing that. This will be the blow off match to Nikki Bella's run after the championship and I wouldn't be surprised to see Brie or Alicia Fox step up and go after Charlotte on behalf of Team Bella next. This one should be a pretty good Divas match but I think it's clear Charlotte will retain her Championship and move on to bigger and better things. You had a good run Nikki, but now you've served your purpose and knocked AJ Lee off her perch as longest reigning Divas Champion you can return to doing the chasing for a while.
Jamie's Predicted Winner - Charlotte
I’m ready for this match to happen so it can be done with. I don’t see Nikki Bella re-capturing the Divas Championship here, as a new era has dawned. In fact I’m a little surprised that WWE decided to follow through with this match. The night after Charlotte won the Divas Championship Paige turned on team PCB and we started an interesting feud there. While Team PCB is currently in a bit of a civil war, Team Bella has started feuding more with Team BAD. It almost feels like Nikki vs. Charlotte for the title is an afterthought in everything else that has been going on. In all honesty, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this one end in a no contest or for us to see some sort of interference. I expect that once this match is over we’ll see someone else step up as a new challenger for the Divas Championship.
Zack's Predicted Winner - Charlotte
Moose's Predicted Winner - Charlotte
Thomas' Predicted Winner - Charlotte
Amelia's Predicted Winner - Nikki Bella
Kevin Owens (C) vs. Ryback - Intercontinental Championship Match
Ryback is set to challenge Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship in a rematch from Night of Champions. This is one of three rematches for last month’s pay-per-view, and I’m not really thrilled about any of them. Ryback and Owens did have a pretty solid match that was better than I had expected. Kevin’s reign is just beginning as Ryback is stuck in the midcard right now. It only seems inevitable that Owens will retain after a good, hard-fought battle.
CJ's Predicted Winner - Kevin Owens
In a rematch from Night of Champions Kevin Owens puts his newly won Intercontinental Championship on the line against the man he defeated for the title that night in Ryback. I have to say I've been pretty impressed with Ryback these last few months and to see him and Owens going one on one in a powerhouse match up will be interesting to watch. I see this as being a blow off match, similar to the Divas match that will see Kevin Owens retain his title and go on to bigger and better things. Owens may have to cheat to get the win against the big guy but it doesn't matter how he wins, just know that Kevin Owens will continue his rise to the top of WWE after this while Ryback stays where he belongs.
Jamie's Predicted Winner - Kevin Owens
Similar to Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella, Owens vs. Ryback what I would guess to be a rivalry blow off match. Ryback gets his rematch because of the “rematch clause” that WWE uses when it’s convenient for them. The match will be fine of course, their last match was pretty good. Owens continues to prove why he’s one of the best wrestlers in the world; hitting the Pop Up Powerbomb on a 400 pound Mark Henry. Ryback is proving that the renewed faith in his character has been worth the commitment because he’s really owning where he is in the card right now. This rivalry isn’t one I would have put together in my head, but it’s one that is working out fairly well. It would be better off if WWE would give it more of their attention, but unfortunately WWE isn’t in the mid-card business right now.
Zack's Predicted Winner - Kevin Owens
Moose's Predicted Winner - Kevin Owens
Thomas' Predicted Winner - Kevin Owens
Amelia's Predicted Winner - Kevin Owens
John Cena's United States Championship Open Challenge
The possibilities are endless! For the first time in quite awhile, John Cena does not have an actual feud going on as he prepares to defend the U.S. Title on a pay-per-view. With the rumors that Cena is taking time off after Hell in a Cell, it should kind of be expected that Cena drops the title to whoever answers the challenge. My top three predictions include Finn Balor, Dean Ambrose, and Daniel Bryan. Any of the options could provide us with a Match of the Night contender. Since Cena and Orton are going to be out at the same time, WWE needs to find more than one person to step up and take charge in the main event scene. I would choose Bryan for that job, but WWE seems hesitant to clear him. Because of that, I predict Dean Ambrose will beat Cena fair and square to win the title.
CJ's Predicted Winner - Dean Ambrose answers the challenge and wins the United States Championship
This match was probably the hardest of all the matches on this card to pick a winner for because it's such an open book and anyone could go up against Cena. What will WWE do in this situation? Use an up and coming star from the world of NXT like Samoa Joe? That's a possibility and would give Cena a legit threat to his title. Could it be someone new to the main roster like Tyler Breeze? Think how huge the rub for Breeze would be winning the title this soon in his career. Or will WWE use someone not on the card yet like Dean Ambrose? That's also very possible and would be a huge rub for Ambrose if he got the chance to beat Cena. But I don't think it will be either man. With Randy Orton facing a spell out and Cena taking time out after tonight it's only inevitable that Cena drops his title to someone the fans have been clambering to see return. To a man that previously beat Cena for a title when Cena had to take time off. YES! fellow readers, I'm talking about a returning Daniel Bryan. I called for Bryan to return previously and it hasn't happened. But with WWE losing two major names like Cena and Orton, this serves as the perfect opportunity to bring back Bryan and give the WWE Universe someone to get behind. No word yet on if Bryan has been cleared, and I expect one of the four names mentioned above will be the man to challenge and defeat Cena. However my gut feeling is to go with Bryan for the return and the win.
Jamie's Predicted Winner - Daniel Bryan answers the challenge and wins the United States Championship
Though John Cena’s opponent has not yet been revealed, it’s likely John will be dropping his United States Championship at Hell in a Cell, due to time off. There have been many names mentioned and thrown around as to who is going to face John and win the United States Championship. Names from Big Show to Finn Balor. I think the person who is going to face John Cena this Sunday is going to be...Kurt Angle! No not really. I have no clue who it will be so I will take a stab in the dark and say Samoa Joe will be John's opponent. My back up choice is Daniel Bryan, but I would hope that WWE would use him more in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture.
Zack's Predicted Winner - Samoa Joe answers the challenge and wins the United States Championship
Moose's Predicted Winner - Finn Balor answers the challenge and wins the United States Championship
Thomas' Predicted Winner - Randy Orton answers the challenge and wins the United States Championship
Amelia's Predicted Winner - Dean Ambrose answers the challenge and wins the United States Championship
Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt - Hell in a Cell Match
Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt are set to do battle inside the Hell in a Cell structure. This match will serve as a proving point for both men. Let’s face it - Many fans thought these two would be main-eventing pay-per-views by now. While they practically are, their storyline has still be seen as an upper midcard act. One this is for sure: WWE needs main event talent. Roman Reigns has come a long way, whether fans want to admit it or not. Reigns should win this war and then go on to chase the WWE Title once again.
CJ's Predicted Winner - Roman Reigns
This is one of the matches I've been looking forward to seeing at Hell in a Cell of all. I like the fact that it's had a slow build to get to this point, in what I see could well be the penultimate meeting between these two, with the big one taking place in a traditional Survivor Series match next month. Reigns and Wyatt are both undeniably main event stars in the making but they have sadly been lost in the proverbial shuffle. Fans have been pretty vocal in recent weeks toward Reigns, which is a shame as Reigns is as a great talent and I thought he handled the boring chants he received recently really well. We all know what both these two are capable of and if thi is going to carry on into next month then for me I can only see a Wyatt win, undoubtedly from someone who will have been hiding under the ring.
Jamie's Predicted Winner - Bray Wyatt
Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt is a match that has been building and building and building for many months. It will all culminate in this match at Hell in a Cell. Hopefully once this match is done, we can move on from this rivalry. Not that it hasn't been a good rivalry, quite the contrary, but both these men are worthy of being main event talents and they're both being wasted in a midcard rivalry. I think this match has done a lot of good for both Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns, in terms of getting the fans to accept them for who they are and not feel that they've been pushed on them. Roman Reigns especially has had too many fans say that he has been pushed on them. They also say that he needs to cut his teeth more in the mid card. Well that is exactly what has been happening in this rivalry. It's been nearly half a year, it's time for Reigns to move back up. There is a lot of pressure on these two to put on the best match of the night at Hell in a Cell. That's no easy task considering the Undertaker is facing Brock Lesnar inside a Hell in a Cell as well. We need the up and coming talent to outperform the part-time talent if we're ever going to see any form of change. Vince McMahon needs to see that investing in younger talent can outsell investing in part time talent. As for who wins, I'm going to have to go with Roman, it doesn't feel like he has really beaten Bray Wyatt yet. Roman needs this victory to propel him back into the main event, Bray Wyatt on the other hand doesn't need the win as badly. Especially with Wyatt leading the Wyatt family again, WWE has hit the reset button with him.
Zack's Predicted Winner - Roman Reigns
Moose's Predicted Winner - Roman Reigns
Thomas' Predicted Winner - Roman Reigns
Amelia's Predicted Winner - Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins (C) vs. Demon Kane - WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match. If Demon Kane loses then Corporate Kane is no longer the Director of Operations
Despite the criticism this storyline has received, I’m looking forward to seeing what Seth Rollins and Kane can do here. I wouldn’t be opposed to Kane having one last run as World Champion, but I don’t want to see Rollins dropping it to Kane right now. This bout will prove that Rollins can retain his WWE Championship without help. Corporate Kane will suffer the consequences as I predict Seth Rollins will retain.
CJ's Predicted Winner - Seth Rollins
The odds are Seth Rollins walks out of this one as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. If you were to bet on anything else then you'd almost be guaranteed to lose. However that doesn't mean Seth is going to walk out of this one the winner by any means. The pressure is more on Kane than anybody in this one because if he loses then it means Corporate Kane is no longer the Director of Operations. While I wouldn't be totally against another Kane run as champion I don't really feel he is the guy to end Seth's run as the champion. It won't do anything for Kane in terms of his character direction and would feel like a big disappointment to see Seth lose out in that way. That being said I am not against Kane picking up the win in this one, which is exactly what I think is going to happen. It's likely Kane will pick up the win via disqualification and at least in storyline terms will live another day to make Seth's life a living hell as champion.
Jamie's Predicted Winner - Kane via disqualification
Seth Rollins vs Kane started out more entertaining than I expected. Since then it has tapered off quite a bit. I still like to think I'm more entertained than most fans, because I still enjoy watching them. Many fans have already abandon the storyline, while I still just enjoy the fact that Seth Rollins has somebody to play against every show. For too long we saw Seth Rollins battling Sting, John Cena, and Brock Lesnar. With all three of those men Seth Rollins is left without anybody to talk to, wrestle, or play against during most shows period Smackdown especially was difficult because none of them would show up on Smackdown. If we were lucky we would get an appearance on Raw from his opponents. For me, it's nice to have somebody that shows up on both Raw and Smackdown battling Seth Rollins. It really keeps the story moving. It also helps that Kane seems to be thoroughly enjoying the storyline, you can see it when you watch him. That said, I don't see Kane winning in this rivalry. Kane is being used to help season Rollins, and that's fine.
Zack's Predicted Winner - Seth Rollins
Moose's Predicted Winner - Seth Rollins
Thomas' Predicted Winner - Kane
Amelia's Predicted Winner - Kane
Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker - Hell in a Cell Match
Is this the End of an Era? Maybe not... But it is The Final Chapter. The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar’s story will come to an end as their last battle will take place inside Hell in a Cell. There’s no doubt this will be must-see. The biggest question is who will win? The score is technically tied at one a piece. This could be the last match for both men until WrestleMania 32. Could a big name appear before it’s all said and done? The Rock? Stone Cold? Sting? Since Lesnar is practically guaranteed to return to action, many fans are assuming he wins here. I’m going to say that The Undertaker will officially avenge his WrestleMania 30 loss by actually beating Lesnar. What happens next? Only time will tell.
CJ's Predicted Winner - The Undertaker
It's the match that undoubtedly has to close the show. It's the last time (potentially) we will ever see Brock Lesnar and Undertaker face off in singles competition in the ring. This is the rubber match of their best of three series they've had with both men picking up a win a piece. Lesnar breaking the Streak was huge and he knows that, while Undertaker's recent victory over Lesnar was a huge deal for the dead man. This is the match I'm most looking forward to seeing, with all eyes being on these two due to injuries and their part time status, the injury last month to Sting at Night of Champions, and because there is a belief a big name could well be returning. Many fans felt disappointed and robbed that there was no tease of a Lesnar and Austin match on Austin's podcast this week, but that doesn't mean to say it isn't going to happen, and why not let it be tonight. With a rumoured match between Austin and Lesnar being teased for Wrestlemania 32 this would be the time to have Austin get involved before the finish. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen but even if it doesn't I'm backing Undertaker to pick up the win here to prove he is still the big dog in the yard.
Jamie's Predicted Winner - The Undertaker
This match has been, rightfully so, incredibly hyped. This is, theoretically, the last time the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will face off. Not only that but it will take place inside of a Hell in a Cell match. It doesn't get much better than that. The only thing I hope is that this match ends with a clear, definitive winner. Too often in the WWE these days we get matches that don't have a clean victory. Even in matches like Hell in a Cell, ladder matches, cage matches, etc etc we see interference and dirty finishes. I would like to hope that in a match of this caliber we would see an undisputed victor. The fan in me wants to see a terrific match, but I hope that Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt outperform them. It's not that I want to see a bad match between the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, it's that I want the WWE to take their up and coming talent more seriously. I hope that Brock Lesnar is mindful of his opponent, let's not forget that the Undertaker is getting up there in age. Not to say he's not one tough dude, because he is, but the Hell in the Cell is dangerous and so is Brock Lesnar. As for who gets the win, I vote for the Undertaker. The Undertaker has already put Brock Lesnar over at WrestleMania, ensuring that he is viewed as a beast. With this looking like it might be the undertakers last year, and this being his retirement tour, I would like to see the Undertaker go over looking strong here, so that he can go in to Wrestlemania looking strong against whoever his opponent is.
Zack's Predicted Winner - The Undertaker
Moose's Predicted Winner - The Undertaker
Thomas' Predicted Winner - The Undertaker
Amelia's Predicted Winner - Brock Lesnar
