Welcome to WNW’s Money in the Bank 2017 Predictions! Money in the Bank will be emanating from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. This time around, we have Kendra Bunyon, Brendan Wahl, Big M, Joshua Tucker, Zeppelin Mayers, and myself providing predictions. Let’s get to it!

Kickoff Tag Team Match
The Hype Bros vs. The Colons

Kendra:

I know that the WWE wants to keep the Tag Divisions going on both Raw and SmackDown, but the Colons? I have to wonder if the family has something on McMahon. Keeping Primo and Epico with no real characters – because they can't seem to manage them – and getting rid of Sandow? Yes, I'm still on that! Anyway, as annoying as people find Mojo and Ryder, they are leaps and bounds ahead of the Colon boys these days. There's no way they shouldn't go over in this match.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match
Naomi (c) vs. Lana

CJ:

Seeing as though I am attending Money in the Bank, I'm very happy to see Naomi is defending her title. However, the only person left to face her happens to be Lana... who's had one televised match over a year ago. I'm fairly confident that Lana will impress us and will have a decent showing here. However, I don't see the value in her winning the title yet. I wouldn't mind a cash-in here afterwards, regardless of the winner, so I'm at least picking the champ to retain.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Naomi

Kendra:

The problem with writing Predicts after posting Premium News (for free, don't forget to check it out) is that I know what the plans for the show are (as of writing the news), and I obviously want to be right in my predictions, but I don't want to be right because I'm in the know. The worst part is that I completely disagree with the direction of things if they go with what I reported. I don't think Lana should be SD Women's Champion at this point (even if for less than an hour) in her career; we've barely seen her wrestle! But, because I just cannot get past what I know, I have to go with the (possible) sure thing.

Kendra's Predicted Winner: Lana

Brendan:

I can only hope and pray that this is where Naomi loses the title and hope she stays away from the title picture for a while but since this is who I THINK will win, I will say that she will probably retain maybe by DQ or something. Or maybe Lana will get herself counted out.

Brendan's Predicted Winner: Naomi

Big M's Predicted Winner: Naomi

Josh's Predicted Winner: Lana

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Naomi

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
The Usos (c) vs. The New Day

CJ:

The promo wars between these teams have been fun to listen to - now it's time to clash in the ring! I remember the match these guys had at last year's Royal Rumble, so I know they will do just fine. This is a classic case of New Day will win the titles, but this probably isn't the exact time it will happen. I'm fine with that, as long as it results in New Day running the blue tag division. What I would do here, though, is have American Alpha come out and cost them the match to get their name back in the fold.

CJ's Predicted Winners: The Usos

Kendra:

The Usos are better than they were before they turned, but still not what I'd call great. They either don't have the personalities for it, or they aren't letting their personalities show through. We've seen them on Total Divas and know they're better than they're showing, but not sure how much more. In the end, I think New Day should win this one and have one last run with the Tag Team Championships before disbanding. I was against them staying together in the move to SmackDown, but since they are, strap them, make them the first team to hold both Tag Championships in this New Era. Then, when they lose them, they can break up.

Kendra's Predicted Winners: The New Day

Brendan:

Logic dictates that because New Day got the win over the Usos on Tuesday that it won't happen again on Sunday. I gotta go with the Usos retaining here even though I don't think it will be the end of the issue between the two teams. Should be a fun match too.

Brendan's Predicted Winners: The Usos

Big M's Predicted Winners: The New Day

Josh's Predicted Winners: The New Day

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Carmella vs. Tamina

CJ:

Way to go ladies! It's time for you five to show the world what you can do with a few ladders. Admittedly, my expectations aren't too high for this one. I hope that means they'll blow me away when it's all said and done. I'll come right out and say I'm rooting for Carmella here. She'd be a great heel to run with the briefcase if she doesn't decided to cash in tonight already. Charlotte has had her fair share of history-making moments, so please let someone else have the spotlight. Becky and Natalya would be my next options. I want to see Tamina thrive, but I'm not so sure that's ever going to happen at this point. Go Carmella!

CJ's Predicted Winner: Carmella

Kendra:

So excited about this match! I hadn't been planning on attending the HIAC PPV until they put Charlotte and Sasha in the HIAC Match. That was announced and I immediately bought tickets. Luckily CJ is going to see this MITB PPV with another groundbreaking match. So jealous and so excited for him, but the biggest question is whether Charlotte is going to win both the first women's HIAC and the first women's MITBLM? It makes sense all the way around, or would if all the other women on the SD roster weren't out to get Charlotte. Honestly, any of the women in this match could go over and it would be great to see because they're all deserving. Some might disagree about Tamina, but she's been through a lot these past couple years and we haven't seen her wrestle much since she returned. To be honest, from what little I have seen, it seems as though her ring work has improved. Becky is great and more than deserving. Nattie is a legend already and would be fun as Mrs. MITB (she is married). I'm still not sure of Carmella, but she has the backing of a number of WNW writers, and I trust them. But, for me, it all comes back to Charlotte. She's the dominant female in a group of dominant females. I never thought I'd see such an amazing Women's Division in the WWE (all brands included), and Charlotte is one of the most dominant of the group. I hate to say that she needs to keep up with Little Miss. Bliss, but she is falling behind a bit, and this win could do great things for her. It makes the most sense to me to have Charlotte win this, especially with what's been reported about Lana. Naomi is a face, I'm guessing Lana is a heel (haven't seen the past two SmackDowns), and Charlotte is a face, so it makes sense for the strap to go in that direction, but more than that, it's Charlotte and she's worked hard for this accolade.

Kendra's Predicted Winner: Charlotte

Brendan:

Good Lord, this could be a disaster. I am hoping for the best but bracing myself for the worst. Amidst the chaos and people mostly putting their money behind favorites like Becky and Charlotte, I'm gonna go with a dark horse pick and say that Carmella sneakily gets herself a win probably due to some strategic James Ellsworth distraction/interference. Then hopefully she takes the title asap.

Brendan's Predicted Winner: Carmella

Big M's Predicted Winner: Becky Lynch

Josh's Predicted Winner: Tamina Snuka

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Becky Lynch

Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match
AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens vs. Baron Corbin vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

CJ:

Everyone is expecting a show-stealer here. The kicker is figuring out who wins. I could make the case for anyone, except Dolph, who is beyond saving after many opportunities. Vince and Triple H don't see it, so that's that really. Sami would be a great underdog story like Bryan, but I don't see it happening with the current main event picture. I anticipate Owens and Nakamura feuding the rest of the summer. AJ could save us from Jinder as champ, or we could have an up and coming heel in Baron Corbin finally win the rocket launcher into a push. Since he couldn't get the Intercontinental Title this year, I say give him the blue case.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Baron Corbin

Kendra:

Even knowing how the WWE changes things around, there's only three in this match who should win it, and that's because it will help their careers – Corbin, Zayn, or Nakamura. Any of the three could take it and run with it, and make so much more of their careers. It seems like forever that we've had a Mr. MITB who worked the case to the best of their ability, and that's one of the best reasons for this match. As much as I love that sexy ginger, I see other things for Zayn and have my fingers crossed that he will be Mike Bennett's first feud on SD. And then there's Nakamura who could do great with the case, but he really doesn't need it because he's so over and fantastic in all he does. That leaves Corbin. Winning the ATGMBR at WrestleMania last year didn't help him as much as it should have, but I think the MITB case in his hand would be a great thing and could help get him over that hump he's been climbing but unable to get over. I have faith in Corbin, and it's his time – to win this, and work his way into the main event, no matter who is holding the strap.

Kendra's Predicted Winner: Baron Corbin

Brendan:

Sometimes I really hate WWE booking. They couldn't have made it any more obvious on Smackdown in that stupid segment where Shinsuke Nakamura posed with the briefcase that he is OBVIOUSLY not winning so he's out of the game. I don't think it'll be Owens or AJ so they can continue their program. Ziggler is an absolutely not and Sami is the 2nd most likely for me but I'm gonna choose Baron Corbin cause he seems to have been getting the crap end of losses lately.

Brendan's Predicted Winner: Baron Corbin

Big M's Predicted Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Josh's Predicted Winner: Baron Corbin

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Baron Corbin

WWE Championship Match
Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Randy Orton

CJ:

The developing situation with potential legends involved with this has me intrigued. That's the only thing that has me remotely interested in a rematch, besides the fact that it's Orton's hometown. It doesn't feel like WWE built this up at all since Backlash. I'm still kind of hoping the Men's MITB match actually headlines the show instead, but I'm sure the hometown boy is going last again. Actually, I'm going to pick him to win because I'll be cheering him on in the stands. It'll be a while before I can buy Jinder as a champion of any sorts. #SaveUsRusev... or Styles... or Corbin.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Randy Orton

Kendra:

Ugh! If Orton wins this he will be 14 time Champion, edging up on Flair and Cena. Not sure the WWE wants that because I doubt they want to sully Cena's achievement. I was the one who was completely against Mahal winning the WWE Championship, because he's nothing more than a glorified jobber, no matter how great his body looks these days. Now, we've heard that McMahon doesn't think this Mahal thing is working out and might pull the strap, and as much as I'm against Mahal being WWE Champion, I'm just as against pulling the strap off him right now. He needs to get even nastier as a heel, and have someone up-and-coming take it off him, not Orton. There are enough younger/newer faces on the SD roster who could take it from Mahal – AJ, Big E, Nakamura, Rusev, Sami, Tye. Actually, (completely off topic) looking at that list, I'd love to see Orton feud with Nakamura, even with both being face-ish. I can see it, and it would be great for both of them, and that's just another reason for Orton to not win the strap back. So, even though I don't think Mahal should be Champion, I also don't think it's time for him to drop the strap either.

Kendra's Predicted Winner: Jinder Mahal

Brendan:

I am scared for this one. They're in Randy's hometown which doesn't bode well for the challenger in WWE logic BUT Cowboy Bob Orton is at ringside as well as Orton's family so if they're pushing the emotional angle it might be hard for Jinder to overcome. I'm still gonna go with the champ Mahal here though and I have absolutely no interest in seeing Randy with the belt again. Don't hinder Jinder!
