WNW Predicts - Night Of Champions 2015

Welcome to WNW’s Night of Champions 2015 Predictions! Night of Champions will be emanating from the Toyota Center in the hometown of the 6x World Champion Booker T, Houston, Texas!. This time around, we have CJ Blaze, Jamie Welton, Zack Krasney, and myself providing full predicts, while Zeppelin and Moose are doing quick picks. Let's get to it!

Preshow Kickoff Six Man Tag:

Neville and Lucha Dragons vs. Stardust andThe Ascension

WWE’s Cruiserweight division is set to take on The Cosmic Wasteland in the kickoff match. This isn’t anywhere near as exciting as the SummerSlam Comic Book tag team match, but I’m glad to see the story continuing between Neville and Stardust. Neither team has much to lose at all, so the booking doesn’t really seem to matter that much. Naturally, I would say the babyfaces go over here, but Neville already has the win from SummerSlam. I have no idea what’s in store for The Cosmic Wasteland, but I do know that Cody Rhodes needs a push.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Stardust and The Ascension

You know what really interests me about this match? It really makes me interested to find out what happened with Wade Barrett? Is he done? Is he sitting out his contract? Did he get injured? Does England have a jury duty system he had to attend for a month? He was all set to team up with Stardust and then poof, just a tweet saying heading home. He may be filming a movie, but man he just fell right off the radar. Anywho, so now instead we get Stardust and the Crapcension vs. Neville and Lucha Dragons. I feel bad for Neville, he kind of got roped into this random Superhero gimmick which was only keeping him afloat as we waiting for Stephen Amell to come aboard. Now that the Arrow vs. Stardust thing is done (or on pause for now as it’s teased) Neville has kinda fallen off. Having the US title on Rollins hurts because it takes away something for the midcarders to fight over. The roster feels very heavy right now, especially with midcarders, so WWE just kind of shoved two tag teams and a midcarder together and called it a pre-show. As for the winner, with Stardust losing at SummerSlam I say he gets the win at Night of Champions.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Stardust and The Ascension

This match brings together six men who all have history and pits them in what I am sure will be a very high flying contest. It was the Lucha Dragons who would defeat the Ascension to capture their first NXT Tag Team Championship, while Stardust and Neville have been battling for months now, with their most recent meeting seeing Neville and Stephen Amell come out on top over Stardust and King Barrett at Summerslam. It’s probably fair to say there is no love lost on either team for their opponents, especially after the Lucha Dragons stole a victory over the Ascension on this weeks edition of Main Event. The addition of the Ascension to this feud is actually quite interesting as I believe Stardust could be the key to them finally helping them succeed on the main roster in WWE. This match is going to have plenty of action for us to enjoy and should hopefully help set a tone for the night. As for a winner don’t be surprised to see the Cosmic Wasteland pick up a controversial win and see this feud continue for another few weeks.

Jamie's Predicted Winner: Stardust and The Ascension

Oh, how the mighty have fallen... Every man in this match has had some measure of success in their careers, and they are being regulated to a meaningless feud regulated to the preshow kickoff match. And all this is really serving is to further extend the feud that Stardust and Stephen Amell have had, possibly to Survivor Series, where we might actually get a one-on-one match between the two men. As for this, since it is on the kickoff and most of the time WWE seems to want the crowd opening on positive spirits, I'm calling Neville and Lucha Dragons to take it. Otherwise, why not save this for Raw on Monday?

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Neville and Lucha Dragons

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Stardust and The Ascension

Moose's Predicted Winner: Neville and Lucha Dragons

Grudge Match:

Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev

Could this storyline possibly get any worse? I’m seriously at a loss for words. A year ago, Ziggler was doing great as Intercontinental Champion, and Rusev was working his way towards monster heel status. Here we are, many storylines later, and we are stuck in a love mess. It doesn’t matter who wins for me as both will be stuck in the midcard scene. I’ll go out on a limb and pick Rusev.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Rusev

Thank the lord for this rivalry, honestly, I don’t know when I would take my potty breaks if it weren’t for them. The Divas are finally getting the attention they deserve and are showing they can be just as entertaining as any of the guys, New Day and the Dudleyz are keeping me interesting in the Tag division. I was scared I would have to hold it for 3 hours. Lucky for me, though, WWE knew what I needed! So they decided to come up with this horrible, over the top, poorly acted, worse than soap opera, crap storyline. Not only has it been TERRIBLE, but even fate itself is trying to stop it from happening. First Rusev gets injured, then as soon as he returns Ziggler was out on injury/renegotiating his contract, then as soon as Ziggler returns, Lana gets hurt. Stop trying to make this rivalry happen! It’s awful and Dolph Ziggler AND Rusev AND Lana all deserve better than this! Let’s call it a Katie Vick and MOVE ON!

Zack's Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler

With the loss of Lana from this feud the odds are very much against Dolph Ziggler picking up a win in this one as Rusev will no doubt use Summer Rae to his advantage as he looks to defeat Dolph following their no contest at Summerslam. Since saving Lana from the Bulgarian Brutes clutches many months ago, this feud has become more and more personal, with Summer Rae even stooping as low as to sneak into Ziggler’s dressing room and claim that the Show Off tried to make advances toward her. While we will never quite know the true story there is no way that Lana can gain a measure of revenge after suffering a wrist fracture that left her requiring surgery and facing months out of action. The question is will Dolph be able to defend Lana’s honor and help take Rusev down a peg or two? My answer here is yes I believe he will. I kind of feel that without Lana involved this feud is going to come to an end, as I would have liked to see Ziggler and Lana team to face Rusev and Summer, but with that possibility out of the picture I feel this feud will come to an abrupt ending this Sunday. Ziggler will pick up the win and move on to bigger and better things, and hopefully so will Rusev.

Jamie's Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler

And yet another pointless match on the card! Seriously, this should have been resolved on the Raw the week after Lana fractured her wrist. Instead, we got another two weeks of awkward situations and promos between Summer Rae, Rusev, and Ziggler, including some incredibly heelish and out of character things from Ziggler. In the end, I guess it is better that they all have a storyline than to be someone like Sheamus, Cesaro, and about 70% of the rest of the roster. Considering everything, including how this could go into the future because of Lana's injury, I'm giving it to Rusev. He will have the advantage thanks to having Summer Rae, and at this point, he needs everything possible to get him back over.

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Rusev

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Moose's Predicted Winner: Rusev

Family vs. Brotherhood:

The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Braun Strowman) vs. Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and a partner of their choosing

Who could the third man possibly be? We’ve been waiting and waiting with no clear idea of who will be aligning with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. I’ll be honest, if it wasn’t for this mystery partner, I most likely would not be that interested in this match. I don’t want to overthink this one too much, so I decided the mystery partner will be the returning Daniel Bryan! Bryan, Reigns, and Ambrose will overcome The Wyatt Family and we can finally move on from this Family vs. Family war. Bray Wyatt will begin a feud with Randy Orton, while Bryan moves on to something in the main event picture, hopefully. Where does that leave Reigns and Ambrose? I guess time will tell.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Daniel Bryan

I’m never a huge fan of bringing in someone as dominant as they did with Braun Stowman. They’ve done it in the past with guys like The Great Khali, remember when he first showed up they had him dominate The Undertaker. They’ve done it with many other guys too, I won’t wasted time by listing all of them, but I’m sure people can come up with a long list. So when I see guys like Stowman show up and completely shut down Reigns and Ambrose it frustrates me. I know they’re trying to show how completely and utterly powerful Braun is, but come on. Don’t insult my intelligence WWE. I’m supposed to believe that Roman Reigns went toe to toe with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, not only held his own against the Beast but took the fight to him, yet this new guy comes in and Reigns can’t do a thing to stop him? Sorry, I’m not buying it. I don’t want to be a negative nancy, but I’m afraid this guy is going to be jobbing out to midcarders by this time next year. I hope he does well! Don’t get me wrong, I hope he blows everyone away! However, history doesn’t favor guys in his position.

Ok I’ve ranted for a long time and didn’t get to the actual match part. We’ve got a mystery partner to talk about. Names I’ve heard thrown around by fans. Randy Orton is an obvious go-to after what happened on Raw. Same thing can be said for Jimmy Uso. I’ve heard Samoa Joe, Baron Corbin, Finn Balor, Kane, Daniel Bryan. I myself said it’d be smart of them to make this match second to the main event, and have Seth Rollins be their partner, in exchange for helping him retain the WWE Championship. A one night only Shield reunion. Reigns and Ambrose can say better the Devil you know. Now that’s some good booking, if I do say so myself ;-) If they go lazy and do Randy Orton I’m going to be furious. Regardless, Reigns and Ambrose both need the win right now. Reigns has yet to get one over on Wyatt, and they need to get him back on course toward the main event.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Reigns, Ambrose, and mystery partner (COUGH Seth Rollins)

We saw Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose pick up a huge win over Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper at Summerslam in what looked to be the end of this brutal war. But it seems this was only just the beginning as the next night on Raw we saw the Black Sheep of the Wyatt Family, Braun Strowman make his WWE debut and take out both Reigns and Ambrose, making them look like rag dolls and easy pray for the last few weeks. Ambrose and Reigns have tried in vein to find a weakness in Strowman and the Wyatt’s but they have so far struggled. When the match was signed AMbrose and Reigns were set the task of trying to find a third man, and over the last few weeks the Wyatt’s have taken out potential partners including Randy Orton and Jimmy Uso. But Reigns and Ambrose revealed they have managed to find a third man to take on the Wyatt’s but are keeping his identity a secret. Many speculate it could be The Rock, but I can’t see Rock coming back for a match like this. My guess is the mystery partner may be Randy Orton, but after a question in the weeks Ask WNW I’m going to hedge my bets on that third man being a returning Daniel Bryan. WWE have seemingly been waiting and waiting before clearing Bryan to compete and what better way to have him return than against the Wyatt’s, whom we all know Bryan has history with. As for a winner in this one, I can’t look past the team of Ambrose, Reigns, and Bryan/Mystery partner picking up the win here.

Jamie's Predicted Winner: Ambrose, Reigns, and Mystery Partner

It seems like this is the feud that will never end. Ever since The Shield turned face, it seems like the default person for either Reigns or Ambrose to face is Bray Wyatt or one of his lackeys. These three men, more than Orton/Sheamus or anything else in the WWE, shows just how much Creative is failing their fans. Wyatt, Ambrose, and Reigns are all clearly main event caliber talents, they just need some confident booking and backing behind them. This is why we shouldn't have had the brand split end or world title merger. It's created an excess of talent compared to where they can be adequately booked. And with WWE reviving The Wyatt Family with the new Braun Strowman, this would be the perfect time to revive The Shield. However, with Rollins firmly planted in The Authority and the top of the card, why not use this chance to make a new star on the main roster? And with the fact that Braun seems to be an unstoppable monster, why not fight fire with fire, and bring in the man that crushes opponents in less than a minute, Baron Corbin? His look and ability would make a perfect fit, and it gives WWE the chance to try him on the main roster for a spell. As for the actual match, I don't see this being the end of the feud, so I am giving it to the Wyatts, since Reigns and Ambrose took Summerslam.

Jesse's Predicted Winner: The Wyatt Family

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner:Reigns, Ambrose and mystery partner via DQ

Moose's Predicted Winner: Reigns, Ambrose, and Mystery Partner

Diva's Championship Match:

(If Nikki loses in any way, she loses the Diva's Championship)

Nikki Bella © vs. Charlotte

Considering the odds are in Charlotte’s corner, my money is definitely on her. Nikki and Charlotte put on a pretty good match on Raw, so I’m sure they will step it up even more. Nikki is officially the longest-reigning Divas Champion, and there’s nothing we can do about it... at least for 300 days. Charlotte absolutely needs to win this match as there’s now no reason to keep the belt on Nikki. Charlotte can officially usher in this Diva Revolution with what is sure to be a great reign.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Charlotte

What a wasted opportunity WWE had this last Monday. I talked about this during Ask WNW this week. WWE had the fans in the palm of their hand. Everyone was ready for Charlotte to overthrow Nikki Bella and become Divas Champion, truly beginning a new era in the Divas division. They could have had their cake, and have eaten it, too. They could have crowned a new Divas Champion in Charlotte, shown the Revolution was alive and well, have stopped Nikki Bella from breaking the record of longest running Divas Champion in history, given the fans EXACTLY what they wanted! While still being able to say Nikki Bella is the longest running Divas Champion in history (tied with AJ) and not making her look weak. Instead, they used the same tired, insulting “twin magic” trick that fans saw coming a mile away because Brie came out dressed like Nikki, which she never does unless “twin magic” is going to happen. The fans were given the moment, and had it ripped away. Effectively giving people no real reason to give a crap about the match at Night of Champions. You can only do this to your fans so many times before they stop caring. I said the same thing about Cesaro in the comments section of another post. The fans shouldn’t have to give the “Daniel Bryan treatment” to every superstar who actually deserves to be on top. We can’t give “so-and-so wins or we riot” levels of energy to Charlotte, Cesaro, Owens, Ambrose, Ziggler, etc etc. The fans will burn out! What ends up happening is that we pick our battles and we become apathetic towards certain other battles. You keep putting Nikki over talented women? People stop caring about the Divas. It’s that simple. Even if Charlotte wins Sunday, which God knows she should, the air is already out of the balloon. The stars lined up on Monday, WWE had a GOLDEN opportunity, and when Charlotte “won” everyone exploded for her and gave her their energy, their excitement. Then WWE ripped it away but fans already gave away that energy, they can’t take it back, the moment has passed. If she wins on Sunday people will be excited, but not as excited as if she had won Monday, or if they hadn’t done the match on Raw at all. They ribbed us, they ribbed us good. They didn’t give us what we wanted so we’d tune in to their PPV and subscribe to their network. Problem is now I don’t even have faith that they’ll put Charlotte over on Sunday. That they won’t pull some BS “Twin Magic” trick. We’ll have to see, if they’re smart they give the belt to Charlotte, better late than never.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Charlotte

Nikki Bella somehow controversially overcame the odds this past Monday on Raw, as she managed to retain her Divas Championship in a match against Charlotte that ended in somewhat controversial fashion with an attempted Twin Magic allowing Charlotte to pick up the win, only for Stephanie McMahon to overturn the decision meaning Nikki is now the longest reigning Divas Champion of all time and surpassing AJ Lee’s record. It was a heart wrenching moment for Charlotte, who for weeks has had the number of the Divas Champion marked but luckily Charlotte gets another opportunity this Sunday to gain the championship. She has previously made Nikki Bella tap out, but only in matches when the championship was never at stake. With the Divas Revolution only continuing to go from strength to strength I see this match being another potential classic. The stakes are high in this one as if Charlotte doesn’t win then you have to question if she will choke at every opportunity to become champion in future? On the other hand if Nikki were to lose then it’s only going to make her remaining champion after this weeks Raw a delaying of the inevitable. It’s so hard to pick a winner in this one but I believe that Sunday really can be Charlotte’s night and we will finally see a new chapter in the continued growth of the #DivasRevolution. Charlotte is going to make Nikki Bella tap one more time. and fulfil her destiny and become WWE Divas Champion for the first of what I expect to be multiple times throughout her career.

Jamie's Predicted Winner: Charlotte

Talk about a caphony of bad booking this past Monday! Nikki Bella and Charlotte had a great match, one filled with meaning and emotion, and it had to get ruined by illogical booking, all for the sake of spiting AJ Lee. Let me take you back for a moment. Back to the magical date of April 29th, 2012... It is Extreme Rules, and Beth Phoenix had been injured and was unable to compete. So Nikki Bella had to defend her recently won Diva's Championship against a mystery opponent, which would be a newly returning Layla. The Bellas would go for Twin Magic in the match, and Layla would end up pinning Brie, winning the Divas Championship for her first reign. Yes, you read that correctly. Nikki was champion, Brie was pinned, and nothing was said as the title changed hands. Yet Monday, when it happened, suddenly WWE had an issue! BAKA!!! So now we have this match on the PPV, which we all know is going to result in Charlotte getting what was rightfully hers on Monday. So much for a Divas Revolution. Other than better wrestling, it's still SSDD: same sh*t, different divas.

Tag Team Title Match:

The New Day © vs. The Dudley Boyz

The Dudley Boyz are back and they are set to challenge The New Day for the Tag Team Titles. This is one of those matches where I don’t care which team wins because I’ll be satisfied either way. If you read my Five-Count from a couple weeks ago, you may have ready my crazy prediction for these two teams. I have decided that The New Day will retain this time, but the result won’t be the same at Hell in a Cell. The Dudley Boyz will want a rematch, but not just any rematch. The battle will take place inside the Hell in a Cell structure where The Dudley Boyz will walk out with the gold.

CJ's Predicted Winner: The New Day

AWWWWWWWWWWW WRESTLING NEWS WORLD!!! DON’T YOU DARE BE SOUR! FEEEEEL THE POOOWERRR!!! I’ve always wanted to do that. New Day is getting better every week, which is impressive considering they’re already great. From Xavier Woods glorious hair one week, to Big E’s ridiculous dancing the next, and let’s not even get me started on the trombone. New Day is glorious. Someone said they don’t understand how they can be so annoyed by Xavier Woods, and yet find him so entertaining simultaneously. That pretty much hits the nail on the head. There’s no one that can even match them in overall entertainment value. That said, it’s the Dudley Boyz! How do you say no to putting the Tag Team Championships on the returning Dudley Boyz?! One of the greatest tag teams from the Golden Era of tag teams! It’s been a decade since they’ve wrestled in the WWE. All I can say is I hope they play hot potato with the titles and pass them back and forth for all time, because I could watch these two teams for years. Is it sad I don’t even care how this match will be? It’ll be a good match, don’t get me wrong. New Day is one of the few tag teams that have become an actual team. They wear the same attire, they cut off the ring, they do tag team moves, they’re a legitimate tag team. Dudleyz know the old school ways of being a tag team. So yeah, the match will be great I’m sure, but I really don’t care. Both teams are so damn entertaining. Winners are everyone who appreciates fine tag team wrestling. Real answer, New Day retains and we get a tables match at the next PPV.

Zack's Predicted Winner: New Day

OH MY BROTHER, TESTIFY!! How awesome is it to see the Dudley Boyz back in a WWE ring after all those years away? And the best thing is they don’t look like they have majorly changed a bit. They are still the same table breaking, 3D hitting, nine time WWE Tag Team Champions we all remember, and who are now looking for their tenth reign as the Tag Champs. But they come up in this one against probably one of the most in form and entertaining tag teams in a WWE ring today in the New Day. Their attempts to #SaveTheTables have been hilarious but the question is will their efforts come back to haunt them and finally see them taste some wood? New Day reclaimed their Tag Team Championships for a fourth time last month in a Fatal Four Way match at Summerslam, but there is no way they could have been prepared for the return of the Dudley Boyz the following night on Raw. New Day knew what the Dudley’s were back for and knew this day would come, but perhaps they didn’t expect it to be so soon. After surviving the challenge of the Prime Time Players on this weeks Raw, New Day must turn their focus to the Dudley’s. What will the nine time former Tag Team Champions bring? They’ll certainly bring their best efforts, something we have seen since they returned to action in WWE. Is Sunday the Dudley’s time to become the ten time Tag Team Champions? My heart says yes but I’m going to go with my head and say that this isn’t their night and New Day will retain.

Jamie's Predicted Winner: New Day

Now this is a match I can be excited for! I will fully admit to being a Dudley Boyz mark, to the point that when I had a chance to meet them in TNA, I had a full fanboy meltdown. They can easily take the claim of the greatest tag team of the past 20 years, even without their WWE accolades. And the New Day have been on fire since WrestleMania, doing what few tag teams can in this day and era and get the fans behind them. And while I am a fan of the Primetime Players, seeing the Dudleys' return made the seemingly sudden Tag Title change at Summerslam make a ton of sense. I'm seeing this being a great moment for The Dudleys, giving them their 10th WWE Tag Title and their 25th Championship reign overall.

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Them Damn Dudley Boyz!

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Dudley Boyz via DQ

Moose's Predicted Winner: Dudley Boyz

Intercontinental Championship Match:

Ryback © vs. Kevin Owens

Ryback and Kevin Owens are set to do battle in a match that hasn’t received as much build as the other matches on the card. Owens has been hinting and messing with Ryback for a few weeks now, so it’s not like WWE threw this together this week. I believe these two are capable of putting on a very intriguing match, considering their styles. At this point, I would hate to see Ryback’s reign come to an end already, but you do have to think he won it at the very end of May. This feud with Kevin Owens could put an end to Ryback’s reign, but I don’t see the end being at Night of Champions. I would book Ryback to win here, with Owens winning the title at Hell in a Cell because this story has much more to offer.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Ryback

Ryback finally has a decent feud going with Kevin Owens! The rivalry with Miz and Big Show was boring and beneath the IC title, let’s be honest. Kevin Owens is a guy that brings eyes to the match. I do think this match is below Owens, but not everyone can be in the World title picture at the same time so I’m fine with this for now. The match should be interesting, I’m interested to see how Ryback does with Owens. As we saw from Cena/Owens, Kevin brings out people’s “A” game. I’m curious to see if Ryback steps up, too. As for who wins, my heart says Owens my head says Ryback. Of course the rivalry would continue past Night of Champions. I want to keep a positive attitude with this one, let’s hope for the best!

Zack's Predicted Winner: Ryback

This is a heavyweight slugfest between two of WWE’s top stars that all came to start because Owens would cost Ryback his big match against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Since then the Big Guy has been looking for revenge against the big Canadian. Owens has been intent on claiming his first major championship in WWE since his move up from NXT, and he has spent a number of weeks now goading Ryback into this match. He finally gets his chance at Night of Champions, and while Ryback may have the strength advantage over Ryback don’t write Kevin Owens off just yet. Owens is a former NXT Champion who also claimed a huge victory over John Cena in his first major match. Owens has every chance of walking out of Night of Champions the new Intercontinental Champion, and it would be nothing less than he deserves. Ryback has had a pretty solid run as champion and survived the challenge of both Miz and Big Show last time out. But a staph infection has meant his time defending the championship was limited since he won it. I’m going to put Kevin Owens over as the winner in this one, but it isn’t going to be an easy victory for him. However I think right now Owens could use the title to help further elevate him up the ladder, especially since wins have been hard to come by since that big victory over John Cena.

Jamie's Predicted Winner: Kevin Owens

If nothing else, I know this is sure to be a fun match. Normally, I don't like two guys with similar ring styles to be against each other, but Owens is amazing, and Ryback has seemed to be a totally different person, both in ring and on the mic. However, Ryback's reign has been something less than stellar. Between his Staph Infection, and the fact he has been almost exclusively booked against Miz and Big Show, he hasn't had much in the way of quality work to build a title on. Owens, however, had the perfect momentum coming on the main roster, and Creative yet again destroyed it. So why not take this chance to do what they should have in the first place, and give the prize fighter his due? Owens can do more for the title, and there are a lot more faces to chase him than there are heels to feud with Ryback.

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Kevin Owens

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Kevin Owens

Moose's Predicted Winner: Ryback

United States Championship Match:

Seth Rollins © vs. John Cena

In my opinion, Rollins and Cena put on the best show at SummerSlam. Knowing the chemistry these two have and the many matches they’ve had together, we are once again guaranteed to see another show-stealer. With Rollins also working Sting, I don’t think that Rollins should lose both matches. My ideal setup would see The Champ win one and lose one. But which do I pick? I wouldn’t mind seeing Cena win back the U.S. Title. If my plan does work, Seth Rollins will retain the United States Championship as Sting may be winning the main event. Where will he go after this? I don’t have a plan yet.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Seth Rollins

This match will be the first of the night for Seth Rollins, it will be interesting to see where on the card it is though. Do they give Rollins time to recover and put it early on? That would make sense except that John Cena is in the match and WWE would NEVER put Cena on in the opening match and be done with him for the night. Maybe that means Cena will be in Sting’s corner? Who knows. Lots to plan out with this. The match itself will more than likely be a solid B+ to A-. Their match at SummerSlam was good until the ending. Seth needs to get some legitimate wins under his belt because otherwise no one is going to take him seriously as a champion. 5 out of 6 of his PPV matches since winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania have been interfered with, insuring he retains his championship. The only match Rollins didn’t have someone interfere on his behalf was Money in the Bank against Dean Ambrose. Rollins needs a big win on his own and I think it should be against Cena. Lord knows beating Cena clean is a rarity.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Seth Rollins

In the first of two defenses at Night of Champions for Seth Rollins, he defends his newly won United States Championship against the former champion John Cena, who Rollins defeated last month at Summerslam. Cena will no doubt remember the night when Rollins broke his nose back on the 27th July edition of Raw, and will no doubt also be out to avenge his loss the architect last month after Cena was screwed out of the title by Jon Stewart. Since that night Rollins has pretty much been focused on Sting, with very little to no real attention paid to John Cena. Unfortunately for Seth we saw Cena cash in his opportunity for a rematch knowing that Stephanie McMahon had no choice but to grant him the match, a move designed to get into the mind of the future of WWE. Rollins will no doubt be more focused on the opportunity of revenge on Sting but that doesn’t mean he won’t take the challenge of Cena seriously. I’m expecting this one to be a pretty hard fought battle, and while Cena will no doubt come close to regaining his championship, the only outcome I see here is Seth Rollins retaining the championship.

Jamie's Predicted Winner: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is in for one heck of a night at Night of Champions! Only five men have competed in multiple championship matches in one PPV, and out of all of them, only Chris Jericho has won both matches. (No, I'm not counting Bryan winning the #1 contendership at WM30, since it wasn't for an actual title, nor MITB cash-ins, since they were typically special circumstances.) And against an opponent like Cena, one comes to expect that there has to be a level of shenanigans to win. But as I will explain further in my WWE WHC, I think this is not going to be Rollins night, and he is going to lose the US Title back to Cena.

Jesse's Predicted Winner: John Cena

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: John Cena

Moose's Predicted Winner: John Cena

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match:

Seth Rollins © vs. Sting

I would have no problem with Rollins dropping the WWE Championship to Sting. Sting absolutely deserves to have some kind of run with the illustrious title, and now is the perfect time. Rollins has two matches at the PPV to try and prove why he’s “the man.” We’ve seen tension for months between him and The Authority, so this match will serve as a stepping stone for the WrestleMania 32 match between Seth Rollins and Triple H. If WWE goes this route, I think most of the fans win.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Sting

I feel like such a hypocrite with this match! My inner smark is always like “No part timers! Guys over 40 should be putting over the young talent!” Then Sting comes in and I’m absolutely pulling for him to win the WWE Championship. I’m curious how this match is going to go, Sting still appears to be in good shape even at 56 years old. Seth Rollins will also be a bit worn down from facing (beating) John Cena, which “evens the odds” so to speak. I’m letting my inner childhood mark out of his cage and saying that I’m pulling for Sting to win this one. I think there are a decent number of fans who agree, give Stinger the WWE Championship so that he can put that final notch on his belt before he calls it a career. You can have Sheamus cash in a few weeks later and win the title off him. Give Sting the title just for like a month, like they did when Shawn Michaels returned after 5 years. I’ve certainly seen less entertaining things happen over the course of 3-4 weeks in WWE. Hell Lesnar didn’t even defend the title for like 2-3 months at a time, they can give it to Sting for ONE month. He deserves to have it on his resume, and more than that the WWE deserves to say that Sting is a guy who held their championship. It’s just as much an honor for them as it is for him.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Sting

Match number two, and no doubt the main event of Night of Champions sees Seth Rollins back in action as he defends his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against a man looking to win his first major Championship in WWE at the grand old age of 56, Sting. There is no doubt Sting has got into the head of Rollins as of late, with Sting stealing the statue of Seth Rollins and putting it into a garbage truck, to Sting picking up his first ever win in his first ever match on Raw this past week. Sting certainly has Rollins number and it’s going to be difficult for anyone to believe Seth has a chance of retaining here. However I don’t think giving Sting the championship in this situation is the answer. I’m all for Sting winning the Championship but I want it to be a legitimate win and while I’m sure he could beat Rollins legitimately it’s the second part of this match that leads me to believe Rollins is going over. It will be a close one but I have Seth retaining over Sting here. BUT that won’t be the end of Rollins night. With talk of a potential match with Triple H in his future here’s how I see things playing out. As Seth celebrates a controversial victory over Sting, out comes Triple H to celebrate with his champion. And just like Summerslam 2013 Triple H is going to screw Seth Rollins in the same way he did Daniel Bryan, allowing Sheamus to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Sheamus is known as being a Triple H guy and what perfect way to set this up than have Triple H’s new guy dethrone his former champion. Your new WWE World Heavyweight Champion by the end of tonight is Sheamus.

Jamie's Predicted Winner: Seth Rollins, followed by Sheamus cashing in.

Sting... That one man has been a thorn in the Authority's side for the better part of a year. And this Sunday, Sting can take it all from them. But even beyond the storyline, this is something that has been 15 years coming. Ever since WCW folded, people always wondered when Sting would come to WWE, and when he would win a WWE Championship. That time has finally come. And with my own prediction that Rollins will drop the US Title as well, this could be a turning point not just for Rollins, but the creative direction as a whole. So I am calling for Rollins to lose tonight, and at HiaC, get his rematch for the US Title, then take his WWEWHC one at Survivor Series, which helps set up an encounter between him and HHH, who has lost faith in his chosen one, at Royal Rumble or WrestleMania. As for Sting's win, it's going to be short lived, as Sheamus will be The Authority's plan B, setting up Sting vs. Sheamus at Hell in a Cell.

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Sting, followed by Sheamus

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Sting

Moose's Predicted Winner: Sting
