SummerSlam 2015

Welcome to WNW’s SummerSlam 2016 Predictions! SummerSlam will be emanating from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. This time around, we have myself, Zack Krasney, Brendan Wahl, and Zeppelin Mayers providing full predicts, while Kendra Bunyon, Big M, and Moose are doing quick picks. Let’s get to it!

SmackDown 12-Man Tag Team Match (Kickoff)
The Usos, The Hype Bros & American Alpha vs. The Vaudevillains, Breezango & The Ascension

CJ:

This was obviously thrown together at the last moment considering we just saw it on SmackDown. Looking at the bright side, I'm glad to see American Alpha getting a SummerSlam match, as they deserve all the success in the world. Heck, so do guys like Ryder, Breeze, and The Vaudevillains who have been treated rather badly off and on. Since the babyface team won on Tuesday, I'm hesitant to pick them for this one too. However I have to consider that American Alpha is most likely on their way to becoming the new tag champs for the blue brand.

CJ's Predicted Winners: American Alpha, Hype Bros & Usos

Zack:

I mentioned this in Ask WNW Friday and I’ll say it again. What a blown opportunity WWE has with both this match and the Smackdown Women’s tag team match. Not only is there zero point to this match, but it’s a REPEAT of the match we got on Smackdown this week! Besides the fact that the heel side looks like a joke, with the Vaudevillains and Ascension basically just hoping they don’t get released, there is no point to this match! All WWE had to do was have Shane and Bryan come out and say that the 6 men who win this match will go on to face each other in a triple threat match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships at No Mercy. Boom! Suddenly I’m interested and have a reason to care about this match, instead of it seeming like a complete throwaway match. Which it is. Enjoy.

Zack's Predicted Winners: American Alpha, Hype Bros & Usos

Brendan's Predicted Winners: American Alpha, Hype Bros & Usos

Zeppelin's Predicted Winners: Vaudevillains, Breezango & Ascension

Tag Team Match (Kickoff)
Sami Zayn & Neville vs. The Dudley Boyz

CJ:

This bout looks like something straight off of Superstars. I can dig it, though, because Sami Zayn and Neville shouldn't be left of the card. Obviously this will serve as further destruction of The Dudley Boyz. I believe this is where Bubba does his turn as the babyfaces take the win.

CJ's Predicted Winners: Zayn & Neville

Zack:

Boy if this isn’t an “oh crap we forgot to give these guys a match” match if I’ve ever seen it. How does Sami Zayn go from beating Kevin Owens and gaining incredible momentum, to practically forgotten in just 5-6 weeks? WWE boggles my mind sometimes. I’m thinking, probably like everyone else, that we’re going to see Bubba and D-Von lose here and finally hit the splits. Bully Ray anyone? OH TESTIFY!

Zack's Predicted Winners: Zayn & Neville

Brendan's Predicted Winners: Zayn & Neville

Zeppelin's Predicted Winners: Zayn & Neville

Big M's Predicted Winners: Zayn & Neville

Moose's Predicted Winners: Zayn & Neville

Round 1/Best of 7 Series (Kickoff)
Cesaro vs. Sheamus

CJ:

Well this is certainly going to be interesting. I always enjoy watching these two duke it out, but I'm not sure how I'll feel once this series concludes. I'll be cheering for Cesaro all the way through, as I'm sure he'll be the ultimate winner, but I smell a Sheamus victory for round one.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Sheamus

Zack:

I am torn on how I feel about this match. On the one hand, it’s not a best of 7 series because we’ve already seen them wrestle twice in the last 3 weeks! Or those matches don’t count. So either Cesaro is up 2-0 in the series or we’re getting Cesaro vs. Sheamus 9 times in a row! Jesus and I thought we saw Roman Reigns vs. Big Show too many times. The good news is I actually really enjoyed both of Sheamus and Cesaro’s first matches. Hopefully they can keep up the good work and I won’t get bored. I think Cesaro is going to pick up the win here. No one thought Cesaro would win twice in a row, so hell why not pull off the hat trick. If that’s the case, they should also announce that the first two matches did in fact count in the best of 7 series, and have Cesaro sweep the series 4-0.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Cesaro

Brendan:

Yep, they're gonna wrestle each other seven more times, folks. I believe that Sheamus will win the first match between these two since Cesaro just finished beating him twice in a row.

Brendan's Predicted Winner: Sheamus

Zeppelin:

Well since we are getting many many more matches of these two. I guess we can break it up and have Sheamus finally get a win, otherwise what’s the point if their even is one to have this feud to start with.

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Sheamus

Kendra's Predicted Winner: Cesaro

Big M's Predicted Winner: Sheamus

Moose's Predicted Winner: Sheamus

Handicap Tag Team Match
Natalya & Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch, Naomi & Carmella

CJ:

Not only did Eva Marie screw herself over by getting suspended, but she could've easily screwed the rest of these women over. I thought the match would be scrapped, or one of the babyfaces would've been booted and this would become a regular tag match. Luckily, everyone is still scheduled to compete, and it looks like we may be getting a surprise. Rumor has it Nikki Bella is on her way back. SmackDown would be a good place for her. Or, I wouldn't be surprised if Nattie & Bliss recruited Nia Jax from Raw to help out, considering this is a co-branded show. I really don't know who to pick, so I'll stick with the babyfaces.

CJ's Predicted Winners: Becky, Naomi, Carmella

Zack:

The big question is will Natty and Bliss find a replacement *cough* Nikki Bella *cough* or will the match stay a handicap match. Eva Marie was suspended for 30 days. Some people are calling it a work, I’m telling those people that they’re over thinking things. If WWE was working us, because this does kinda fit with Eva’s gimmick, they would have done it on TV. She’s really suspended. I said this about the Smackdown 12-man tag match and I’ll say it about this match, too. This is a missed opportunity. A Smackdown Women’s Championship is coming, we know this. Why not take this match, a match at the second biggest event of the year, and make it a #1 contender match. Whichever team wins will face each other for the Women’s Championship at No Mercy. You could even say that the winners will face each other for a #1 contender spot. Hell you want to make it fun? Make it an elimination match and the Women who finish the match without being eliminated become #1 contender for the Smackdown Women’s title and if there is only one, there will be tournament to decide the other #1 contender. Anything to add a little flavor and spice to the match. Right now this match is boiled chicken without skin. It’s a boring, pointless match that has no purpose other than “well Smackdown needs a Women’s match.” It really is a pity that they have so much talent and aren’t doing anything useful with it. I guess the faces win because if Becky needs a bloody win SOON.

Zack's Predicted Winners: Becky, Naomi, Carmella

Brendan:

I don't see Eva doing too much in this match but I think it will be really messy. It might be fun to tease Eva getting in the ring a bunch of times because I love her new gimmick where she keeps coming up with excuses. I can also see the heels winning with Eva getting the pin after doing next to nothing in the ring just to piss off the haters. (Written before suspension announcement.)

Brendan's Predicted Winners: Natalya & Alexa Bliss

Zeppelin:

Well, Eva sure did mess up. The only good thing about this match is the way they are gonna bounce back from this crazy scenario. If it were the faces that were down one member, I’d say that they would just keep it a handicap match, but not so sure with the heels having the disadvantage. They could bring in Nikki Bella, but she would get a huge pop from the crowd so that shouldn’t be a good idea. Besides, they should save her for when they fight over the new Women’s title belt. It’s unclear how this will go down, but I am gonna say that the faces win just because.

Zeppelin's Predicted Winners: Becky, Naomi, Carmella

Kendra's Predicted Winners: Becky, Naomi, Carmella

Big M's Predicted Winners: Becky, Naomi, Carmella

Moose's Predicted Winners: Becky, Naomi, Carmella

Tag Team Match
Enzo & Big Cass vs. Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens

CJ:

This match was obviously thrown together (creatively, might I add) to get everyone on the card. Enzo and Cass will soon be chasing the Tag Team Championship, and a win over this dynamic heel duo will help springboard them towards a title shot. I'm sure this will be fun to watch.

CJ's Predicted Winners: Enzo & Cass

Zack:

Straight away I am going to say Enzo and Cass pick up the win. Jericho and Owens aren’t a real tag team and they were shoved together for the sake of giving all 4 men something to do. Enzo and Cass are on a roll lately and this seems like a good way to keep their momentum going without hurting their opponents. The smart move is to have Owens walk out on Jericho and have Jericho take the pin. Neither Owens or Jericho looks bad for losing in that situation and Enzo and Cass look strong for beating two established names. I don’t think I’d want to see an Owens vs. Jericho rivalry spring up as a result, but I can’t say I’d hate it. If nothing else it’d be comedy gold to listen to their promos.

Zack's Predicted Winners: Enzo & Cass

Brendan:

This is clearly here just to give everyone a spot on the card but I have no problem with that. They're in Brooklyn so Enzo and Cass getting the win seems to be a no-brainer. My money's on Enzo pinning Jericho since they seem to be at odds the most.

Brendan's Predicted Winners: Enzo & Cass

Zeppelin:

First off, the team of Jericho and Owens is just to give them something to do. Both men deserve to be doing bigger feuds than Enzo & Cass. Nothing against Enzo & Cass, but this match is just to put the guys on the card, and to build the hottest new tag team, and groom them to win the titles from Gallows and Anderson.

Zeppelin's Predicted Winners: Enzo & Cass

Kendra's Predicted Winners: Screwy/DQ ending

Big M's Predicted Winners: Enzo & Cass

Moose's Predicted Winners: Enzo & Cass

Intercontinental Championship Match
The Miz (c) vs. Apollo Crews

CJ:

Wow, WWE really blew a big opportunity here. I'm so disappointed this bout didn't receive the build it deserves. It's almost like the Intercontinental and U.S. Titles switched places since the Draft. Apollo Crews is number one contender and I think he should win it. I wouldn't put it past the company to keep the belt on Miz for the time being, but I think they should take a chance, as the SmackDown theme song says, and strap Crews.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Apollo Crews

Zack:

It’s funny I’m a big Miz fan, but I think this is the match I care the least about on the card at SummerSlam. I don’t feel like Miz is showcased very well as the Intercontinental Champion. I don’t know why, I just feel like Miz as champion is very forgettable right now. It’s not his fault, he works really well, it just doesn’t click in my head. Apollo Crews is also one of the most boring superstars on the roster right now. It’s remarkable how a guy who is so extremely talented athletically in the ring can still make all his moves seem boring. I like comparing him to Neville because they have similar skills, but Neville comes off as better at it. I can’t put my finger on “it” as Jericho would say, but Crews needs to find “it” and he needs to do it soon because I’m bored as hell with him. I think so more time in NXT could have done Crews some good. His call-up was premature in my opinion and I haven’t been proved wrong thus far.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Apollo Crews

Brendan:

There has been almost ZERO build to this one. My money's on Apollo. I literally have nothing to say about this match. Sorry.

Brendan's Predicted Winner: Apollo Crews

Zeppelin:

I love The Miz. I am one of his biggest fans. With that being said, the man needs to drop the belt. He has been a great champion, but Apollo could be elevated to great heights with that belt, and the man is a star ready to break free. Give Apollo the chance and let’s see him shine.

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Apollo Crews

Kendra's Predicted Winner: Apollo Crews

Big M's Predicted Winner: Apollo Crews

Moose's Predicted Winner: Apollo Crews

Tag Team Championship Match
The New Day (c) vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

CJ:

This is another match that my interest is lacking in because of the build. Gallows and Anderson should've been booked stronger and more serious since their arrival, but instead we've watched dumb comedy segments. The Club would make for great champions if creative got their act together. At each pay-per-view, it looks more and more like The New Day is going to split. For some reason, I feel like the champs are going to retain, which is not what I thought in the weeks leading up.

CJ's Predicted Winners: New Day

Zack:

I am surprisingly curious about this match. There were other times I doubted the New Day and they pulled off a win. This match seems like it should be a lay-up for New Day considering Gallows and Anderson haven’t exactly been on a roll since they came to WWE. Taking Big E out of the equation, hypothetically, evens the odds. I actually wouldn’t be surprised for Big E to come down for a distraction or even see him wrestle. My guts say Gallows and Anderson but my mind says New Day. I think I’m going to have to go with New Day retaining. I could go into the crappy testicle joke segments they’ve been doing, or the fact that since Big E has been gone WWE has barely let Kofi and Woods do their “New Day” stuff, but it’s not worth delving into. I’m going to go with my mind and say New Day retains.

Zack's Predicted Winners: New Day

Brendan:

Hard to call this one but Big E may return from his kayfabe injury and cost the challengers the match. However, I can also see the heels winning after having taken out the biggest member (ha!) of the New Day. I'm gonna go with new champions here.

Brendan's Predicted Winners: Gallows & Anderson

Zeppelin:

The greatest title reign of recent history is coming to an end. A win here would make Gallows & Anderson a dominant force, and will shake up the division which is something that division needs and New Day needs. A break as champions will help New Day grow.

Zeppelin's Predicted Winners: Gallows & Anderson

Kendra's Predicted Winners: New Day

Big M's Predicted Winners: Gallows & Anderson

Moose's Predicted Winners: New Day

United States Championship Match
Rusev (c) vs. Roman Reigns

CJ:

Yo, WWE, whatcha doing? Some of their booking is getting more and more questionable these days, which is truly disappointing coming off the brand split. I'm glad they thought of something fresh by pairing these guys up and making the U.S. Title feel like something relevant again. These two did a fantastic job on Raw this past Monday, which leaves me questioning the finish of this match even more. One one hand, I want to see what Reigns can do as United States Champions. One the other hand, I think Rusev should hold on to the belt and possibly extend this feud into September. I think I'll stick with the smart "other " hand.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Rusev

Zack:

I still don’t understand why this match was given away for free on Raw. The only conclusion I can come to is that Rusev is going to go over at SummerSlam so they wanted to give Roman a chance to shine on Raw before taking a loss. It just feels weird, like something is going to happen no one expects. I’m not sure what, maybe it’s nothing. It just feel very weird, and usually weird results in something different. We will have to see to find out. Keep in mind, if Roman wins it means all three member of the The Shield will have been both WWE and United States Champion at some point in their career. This feud has been great, not just for getting Roman back on track with the fans, but for Rusev! Roman still comes off as a “top guy” so when he goes 20-minutes with Rusev, it makes both men look like top wrestlers. I think this could be a turning point for Rusev’s career if he can retain.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Rusev

Brendan:

This wouldn't be so predictable if they hadn't had that (admittedly great) match on RAW this past week where Roman picked up the squeaky-clean victory. Rusev is going over here somehow but this definitely isn't the end of this feud.

Brendan's Predicted Winner: Rusev

Zeppelin:

I have a hard time deciding on this one. Roman Reigns has been better and more accepted lately since his feud with Rusev began. Although, Rusev is one of the best things going as US Champion. I feel this comes down to timing. I don’t think Roman needs to be US Champion to get over, I think he needs to be out of the title picture for a bit to rebuild his character. Rusev can continue as champion, so he can eventually lose it to a strong up and coming talent to elevate them. This way he can go up the card to compete for higher gold. A lost to Rusev would also help push Reigns to a heel turn, which would really help Reigns become a top star and be worthy of that position.

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Rusev

Kendra's Predicted Winner: Rusev

Big M's Predicted Winner: Rusev

Moose's Predicted Winner: Rusev (dirty)

Women's Championship Match
Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte

CJ:

I'm actually glad WWE surprised us by having Sasha's big title win happen on Raw instead of SummerSlam. I mean, we all knew she was winning at the biggest party of the summer. This rematch will be really fun watch, although I'm not sure it can top Asuka vs. Bayley from TakeOver. There's really no way Charlotte takes the title back, right? Sasha is just starting her reign with the New Era, and I believe she should get a lengthy run. Look for The Boss to dominate in Brooklyn.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Sasha Banks

Zack:

It’s funny I am actually more worried about Charlotte winning now that Dana Brooke is banned than I was beforehand. When she was thrown out of the match when Sasha won it felt right. Now that she’s banned from ringside it feels like it’s too good to be true. Maybe I’m just not used to good things happening in WWE. I would love to see Sasha retain here and hold the title all the way to WrestleMania where we can get either Sasha vs. Bayley or a 4 horsewoman match. Either way, I like me some Sasha Banks as champion. The best part about Sasha is they haven’t even tapped her potential on the main roster. The match she had with Charlotte where she won the title was spectacular but there is still a ton of untapped potential. Either way, we’re getting incredible wrestling from the women’s division and I’m thrilled to see it. Hopefully we get a Bayley call up Monday!

Zack's Predicted Winner: Sasha Banks

Brendan:

It would be silly if they just flopped the title right back to Charlotte after Sasha's big moment. I think Dana Brooke is starting a slow burn but I can't see a face turn for her just yet. I think Sasha's gonna win this match clean and then who knows where she goes after that. Dana at the next PPV perhaps?

Brendan's Predicted Winner: Sasha Banks

Zeppelin:

Sasha needs to win. Plain and simple, just put on another great match that tells an incredible story of Sasha conquering Charlotte. That is all.

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Sasha Banks

Kendra's Predicted Winner: Sasha Banks

Big M's Predicted Winner: Sasha Banks

Moose's Predicted Winner: Sasha Banks

Singles Match
John Cena vs. AJ Styles

CJ:

Luckily this match hasn't been lost in the shuffle like I thought it was going to be. I know what you're thinking... How could it possibly have gotten lost in the shuffle?? Well Ambrose vs. Ziggler has been the top storyline for SmackDown, not to mention the fact that Randy Orton is headlining the show. The Universal and Women's Title matches almost seem to be above this one in my eyes. Not to mention the fact that card has thirteen matches altogether. Anyways, I think these two will tear the house down like they did at Money in the Bank, but I hope it's memorable and not forgotten about. I strongly believe Styles needs the win here. Afterwards, he can begin pursuing the WWE Title again.

CJ's Predicted Winner: AJ Styles

Zack:

Man, the more I write these the more I realize how stacked this SummerSlam card is. Yeah, we could have used a better lower card to round things out, but this show is gonna be stellar. This match being no exception. John Cena, the face of WWE vs. AJ Styles the former face of TNA. It’s almost hard to look at AJ and still think TNA, which I guess was the point in him going to Japan and being built up in WWE. It’s funny I think AJ being put on Smackdown is such a brilliant idea. Last time there was a brand split it created mega stars out of guys like JBL and Edge, who might not have made it quite as far in their career without being exclusive to Smackdown. I think the exact same thing is going to happen with AJ, he’s going to be built up and built up and built up on Smackdown until he’s look at as one of the top 3 guys in the company, especially full-time workers. Then they’ll switch him to Raw and he’s gonna take off even more. I don’t want to say it’s smooth sailing for Styles from here, because it’ll take hard work, but I think it’s all green lights for the Phenomenal One. He just needs to get through the face that runs the place. I actually have pretty strong confidence that Vince is going to put AJ over Cena. Cena is gonna head out in a few weeks to do his new show and Vince is a big supporter of AJ right now. I think the stars have aligned to have AJ go over John Cena at SummerSlam. Never thought I’d be writing those words.

Zack's Predicted Winner: AJ Styles

Brendan:

I know AJ won their first singles match but Cena pinned him in the 6-man tag last month so this is still a rubber match as far as I'm concerned. Based on Cena getting the last laugh in on Smackdown! Live this past Tuesday, I see Styles picking up the win and Cena taking some time off again.

Brendan's Predicted Winner: AJ Styles

Zeppelin:

With Cena as more of a part-time talent these days, and AJ Styles seen as one of WWE’s biggest acquisitions. I am gonna say that AJ has a strong chance of walking out with the win. He is a heel, so it will be a dirty finish, but I see Styles beating Cena to continue their feud. I think they will have one more match at Backlash, with Cena finally getting his revenge. But a win over Cena at SummerSlam will set up AJ Styles as the next big challenge for Dean Ambrose. Hopefully, as the man to carry Smackdown as the next champion.

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: AJ Styles

Kendra's Predicted Winner: AJ Styles

Big M's Predicted Winner: John Cena

Moose's Predicted Winner: AJ Styles

WWE World Championship Match
Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

CJ:

Dolph Ziggler: one of the most talked about names in the last few weeks. Who would've thought?! I was dead set on WWE booking Bray Wyatt against Dean Ambrose, and never would've guessed that the guy that lost to Baron Corbin a few times this year would be challenging for the top prize. This takes me back to when Dolph challenged CM Punk at Royal Rumble 2012 but then never was in the main event picture again. I foresee this being a really good match, one that many are underestimating. Looking forward, I don't see Ambrose losing the title anytime soon, so I'm betting on him to win here. Perhaps this feud gets extended into Backlash?

CJ's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Zack:

I think a lot of us are still in shock for two reasons. 1) The company actually put Dolph Ziggler in a WWE championship match at Summerslam. 2) That the company is letting Dolph Ziggler actually show us why he deserves to be there in the first place! Man Dolph has been on FIRE lately. He works the mic as well as anyone else and man has it been working. I particularly love this rivalry because it’s not a face vs. face, a heel vs. heel, or even a face vs. heel. This is just two guys who don’t like each other trying to be the best. There is no good guy bad guy and that’s why it’s working so damn well. This is something new and fresh that we’re getting. Dean is playing the mellow, “you ain’t got what it takes to beat me” persona perfectly, while Dolph is playing the “bite, scratch and claw to get to the top” attitude so perfectly. This is exactly what happens when you like guys be themselves and turn it up to 11. There’s a reason both guys play their role so well, because it’s who they are! I can’t say enough about how much I’m enjoying how well this is done. It’s almost sad that it has to end with one guy losing. Though, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bray Wyatt get involved, leading to a triple threat at No Mercy. Gotta stick with Dean, though, I don’t see the title coming off him.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Brendan:

One of the most surprising things to happen as a result of the brand split is Dolph Ziggler's ascension to the main event spotlight once again. Dolph has been doing really well in the last few weeks to sell it and build up his intensity but I see Ambrose retaining. I think Dolph will snap afterwards though and turn heel, setting up a gimmick rematch at Backlash.

Brendan's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose (possibly by DQ)

Zeppelin:

To put it plainly, this is a test for Dolph. If he can make magic tonight, he can continue to see himself in the top of the card on Smackdown, but not as champion...yet anyway. Dean needs a lengthy and strong title run, and Dolph needs to be dominant. As long as it is a close victory, both men should come out strong.

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Kendra's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Big M's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Moose's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Universal Championship Match
Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins

CJ:

I'm disappointed with the fact that the build hasn't been great for this dream match. What makes me forget about that is the fact that this could be the new Match of the Year contender right here. Separately, Seth and Finn have great matches with just about anyone, so imagine what happens when they share the ring together? The bits and pieces we've seen of them working in the ring on Raw has served as a great preview. As for the winner, it looks like Finn will probably get it. Rollins has made a career for himself by accomplishing many "firsts," but I think this one should go to Balor this time.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Finn Balor

Zack:

Man we are in for a TREAT with this match. I mean, Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor is already a tremendous match. Add to it that it might main event the show, that makes it even better. Now add that it’s SummerSlam! Then add on top of all of that, it’s for the first ever Universal Championship! That’s huge! Even if you strip all that extra stuff away, though, these guys would still put on one helluva a match! That’s the exciting thing, one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, match on the card is two guys who can wrestle their ass off! We the internet fans can say NOTHING about WWE always pushing “their” guy because look at this card! Personally, I want Finn Balor to come out on top. Either way, I can’t say I’ll be sad. I’m a big Balor fan, but I’m also a big Rollins fan. I just think it’d make for a spectacular moment for Balor to come out on top. I especially think it’s important to keep King Demon Balor undefeated, even if regular Finn Balor loses here and there.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Finn Balor

Brendan:

This is a close call but here is a situation where they have put a lot of momentum behind Finn Balor and have used him sparingly in the build-up to this match as he only wrestled on that one RAW where he became the #1 contender. I think Balor will win this hard-fought match and become the first champion, which will give them a whole host of interesting ideas to go for from there.

Brendan's Predicted Winner: Finn Balor

Zeppelin:

This match comes down to who the company is more behind. Both men are strong talents and deserve to hold the top belt on Raw. Both men could continue to feud over the belt on Raw. Both men are capable to be the face of Raw. The biggest difference is that it makes more sense to have a heel hold the title over a face. I don’t think it will be a clean win by any means, but Seth should be the first champion. The man has earned his spot, whereas Finn has just been brought up. Clearly he is considered a top guy, but Finn needs to fight for his big win, possibly gaining the title at Royal Rumble or WrestleMania instead. Also, their are barely any heels strong enough to challenge Finn for the belt after his feud with Seth. A story arc can be crafted starting at SummerSlam, similar to Daniel Bryan’s arc. Of an underdog fighting to get the title he keeps getting screwed out of. Only this time, it is Seth’s smarts and not his corporate pull, making both men mega stars in the process.

Zeppelin's Predicted Winner: Seth Rollins

Kendra's Predicted Winner: Finn Balor

Big M's Predicted Winner: Seth Rollins

Moose's Predicted Winner: Finn Balor

Singles Match
Randy Orton vs. Brock Lesnar

CJ:

The build for this one has been well done, considering these guys are on opposite brands. I could go on and on about Lesnar, but I'll save you the hassle. Instead, I'll focus on what I want to happen. I've been a huge Randy Orton fan since I started watching wrestling around 2010-11. This Orton that we are seeing now is taking me back to those glory days and it makes me happy knowing that he appears to be enjoying himself. Of course I'll be cheering for The Viper from bell to bell. I know who will win this match, but I'm still picking Orton anyways. I'm looking forward to seeing what unfolds and my fingers are crossed that no one gets hurt.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Randy Orton

Zack:

I feel like I’ve hated on Brock Lesnar so much, that it’s almost hard to keep hating on him. Don’t get me wrong, I hate him, it’s just exhausting. It’s like Donald Trump, just when you think you can’t hate him more, he finds a way to reignite the flame. With that said, and I say through gritted teeth and with the utmost hatred...Brock Lesnar should win. Brock has absolutely dominated WWE for years now and not that I don’t think Randy is great, but I don’t think he’d benefit from the victory. The person who finally beats Brock deserves to have their career skyrocket as a result. Think Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor. Randy winning would just pass the torch to a guy who already has a torch. Beating Brock needs to be a launching point, not another milestone. I know it sends a terrible message to the world and to the roster that Lesnar is untouchable, but honestly him losing doesn’t make a damn bit of difference to him, he collects the same massive paycheck either way. Should Lesnar lose because he’s a PED POS? Yes. Should Brock leave the WWE ASAP? Yes. Should Randy be the one to do it? Sadly, no.

Zack's Predicted Winner: Brock Lesnar

Brendan:

I don't know if I am truly hyped for this match but I am certainly intrigued. The build for it has been adequate but I sincerely hope that there is SOMETHING different about this match than the other Brock Lesnar attractions that we've seen lately. I can't see Orton winning this even though HHH has been reportedly pulling for that to happen.

Brendan's Predicted Winner: Brock Lesnar

Zeppelin:

This is one of the big question mark matches. Do you give the win to a dominating Lesnar so you can pass the honors of beating him to a superstar needing the push, or do you make an established top talent that is returning an even bigger name by beating the conqueror. Both have pros and cons to each guy winning, which makes the match that more exciting. The answer sadly is neither. Neither Orton nor Lesnar can lose. Both need momentum to continue, but their story has to conclude at this event as well. In order to keep both guys strong, have them get a double DQ or countout, or just throw the match out for a no contest. Leave the finish unfinished so the two can be labeled unstoppable beasts. Hell, you can even throw in someone like Bray to attack Orton during or after the match to start building a feud between them. My point being this one is going to end in a draw in one way or another.
