WNW Predicts - WWE Fast Lane

Welcome to WNW’s Fast Lane Predictions! The inaugural Fast Lane PPV will be emanating from the FedEx Forum in the hometown of Jerry "The King" Lawler, Memphis, Tennessee! This time, we have CJ Blaze, Joshua Tucker, Paul Rathert, and Jeffery Sobral writing full predictions, while myself, Andrew Watson, Kendra Bunyon and her daughter Sam are providing quick picks. Let's get to it!

Stardust vs Goldust

Even though this match is a year or two “late,” I’m still excited to see it. It’s just one of those feuds that WWE should do because they can! I love Stardust to pieces, but I love Cody Rhodes as well. I was shocked to see this was added to the Fast Lane card considering Stardust officially turned this past Monday. Adding Dusty Rhodes to the mix was a nice touch, but if this gets dragged out to WrestleMania, which I’m hoping it will, I wonder how much more we could possibly be seeing their pop. My evil scheme for this one involves Goldust picking up the win at Fast Lane. Within the next week or two, Stardust gets angry and attacks Goldust until Stardust completely wipes off the paint on an episode of Raw and Cody is reborn. This sets up Cody Rhodes vs. Goldust for the biggest show of the year!

CJ's Predicted Winner: Goldust

This match should have happened last year at WrestleMania. I really don't care about this match now and I only see it as a stopgap to a career threatening match for Goldust at WrestleMania. Stardust wins and Dustin Rhodes challenges him to a match at WrestleMaina with the loser having to retire.

Joshua's Predicted Winner: Stardust

The Rhodes Brothers’ storyline has gone a bit of a different route than I thought it would and it’s drawn me in. I have a younger brother (he’s 18, I’m 34) and like many siblings we have an extremely close relationship so maybe I was an easy mark. I’ve read rumblings that this may be Goldust’s last storyline. I hope that his last act is beating the Stardust out of his brother and we get Cody Rhodes back. It’s not that Cody doesn’t do well in the role, because he does, but as Cody I think he can, and should, get back into the IC or US Title conversation where he belongs. He’s too talented a wrestler and the gimmick long ago ran its course.

Paul's Predicted Winner: Stardust via DQ

After years of speculation, finally the Rhodes brothers are set to collide. I would have liked to seen this match take place at WrestleMania but a rematch may still happen. I’m picking the evil Stardust to go over his brother this Sunday.

Jeffery's Predicted Winner: Stardust

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Stardust

Andrew's Predicted Winner: Goldust

Kendra's Predict Winner: No Contest/Something screwy

Sam's Predicted Winner: Goldust

Diva's Championship Match:

Nikki Bella © vs. Paige

As much as I want Paige to win and Nikki to lose, I’m going against my gut and picking Nikki Bella to retain. Paige will be the one to make this match worth watching for me. I’ve stated before I just don’t care too much for The Bella’s. The reason I’m going this route is because I want to see a four-way Divas Championship match at WrestleMania. That match would feature Nikki defending against Paige, Natalya, and Naomi, which yes, is a little bit of wishful thinking. This feud came out of nowhere when Paige turned babyface and teamed with Natalya to take on The Bella’s at Royal Rumble. We’ve witnessed decent story development on Raw, but it’s time to see what they can do in the ring.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Nikki Bella

I love Paige as much as the next person, but I don't want to see her with the title again this soon. I think the Bellas will play dirty and Nikki wins the match.

Joshua's Predicted Winner: Nikki Bella

The biggest thing preventing this from becoming a bathroom break match, besides the fact that both women are gorgeous, Paige’s accent is knee-buckling, and one them is actually a good wrestler (spoiler alert-it’s not one with a tan) is that people want to see Nikki get what’s coming. After some of the most immature, unimaginative bullying and the lows the Bellas have sunk to (spray tan, stealing her ring gear) I want it to be a squash match. Unfortunately I don’t see a title change for the Divas Division this close to ‘Mania. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are shenanigans that lead to Nikki’s victory, likely involving Nikki’s sister Brie.

Paul's Predicted Winner: Nikki Bella

Something tells me Nikki will probably retain this Sunday but I love Paige, so my vote goes out to her. Your winner and three time Divas Champion is Paige.

Jeffery's Predicted Winner: Paige

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Nikki Bella

Andrew's Predicted Winner: Paige

Kendra's Predict Winner: Nikki Bella

Sam's Predicted Winner: Nikki Bella

6 Man Tag Match:

Dolph Ziggler, Ryback, and Erick Rowan vs. Seth Rollins, Kane and Big Show

Last week, I found that the undercard of Fast Lane needed filled, and this is the perfect match! Some fans may not be interested, but following Survivor Series and everything that’s happened with The Authority back in control, I want to see these three babyfaces get their redemption again. Pretty much the only way for that to happen is for The Viper, Randy Orton to return! Think about it, it’s the perfect opportunity to set up Rollins vs. Orton at WrestleMania. Orton’s music will hit, allowing for Dolph Ziggler to score another big pinfall victory over Seth Rollins.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Ziggler, Rowan, and Ryback

I wanted this to be J&J Security with Rollins because then I'd believe Seth would win. But with the bickering giants at his side, there's no way he'll win. After the match is over there will be a return and it will be Out Of Nowhere.

Joshua's Predicted Winner: Ziggler, Rowan, and Ryback

Rollins absolutely had to make it onto the Fastlane card somehow and using him in this match is better than nothing. I just want to see the faces finally move on to singles matches as this part of the storyline has grown bland for me. If we're lucky Ziggler and Rollins tear the house down and Rowan finally snaps and breaks out of the awkward role that's followed him since the dissolution of The Wyatt Family.

Paul's Predicted Winner: Ziggler, Rowan, and Ryback

Kane and Big Show haven’t had a great track record as of late but Seth Rollins is the company’s top heel right now. I think the babyfaces are taking this one by pinning either Big Show or Kane, this would be a good way to make the crowd happy at the start of the show.

Jeffery's Predicted Winner: Ziggler, Rowan, and Ryback

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Ziggler, Ryback, and a returning ORTON! (Rowan is taken out backstage)

Andrew's Predicted Winner: Ziggler, Ryback, and Rowan

Kendra's Predict Winner: Ziggler, Rowan, and Ryback when Show and Kane implode on each other.

Sam's Predicted Winner: Rollins, Kane, and Big Show

Tag Team Championship Match:

The Usos © vs. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro

This feels like a dream come true! Tyson Kidd and Cesaro have a spot on the last pay-per-view before WrestleMania, and they are in a title match. I would absolutely love to see Kidd and Cesaro get pushed as far as they can under their tag team gimmick. This can easily be accomplished by beating The Usos and winning the Tag Team Titles. If you read the WNW Predicts in 2014, you’d know that I picked The Usos to win their match almost every single time. But it’s 2015, and time to change things up! While I believe The Usos have a greater chance of winning, I’m predicting that Tyson Kidd and Cesaro find every way possible to beat The Usos and walk out with gold.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Kidd and Cesaro

I like Tyson and Cesaro and I want them to win the titles because I want to see something different in the Tag division for a while, but in my heart of hearts I can't buy in to it happening. I see the Usos retaining in a fun and entertaining match.

Joshua's Predicted Winner: The Usos

The team of Kidd and Cesaro has helped both men find a place to thrive and everyone is better for it. They are both great wrestlers and I really hope Cesaro can eventually find his way back up the card in singles. Kidd and Ziggler would also be a great feud. They have great chemistry and came at a time when the Tag Team division was lacking a true heel team after the Ascension’s mishandling and thus far rejection. The Usos are consistently solid and the fact that both sides have a legitimate Diva (Natalya and Naomi, respectively) gives this storyline some remaining potential. I’d like to see Kidd and Cesaro take the belts because of what I think it would bring the division, but again ‘Mania is right around the corner.

Paul's Predicted Winner: The Usos

I could see this match going either way but I will predict what I hope will happen and that is the start of a fresh new approach to the tag team division with Cesaro & Kidd as its champions.

Jeffery's Predicted Winner: Cesaro and Kidd

Jesse's Predicted Winner: The Usos

Andrew's Predicted Winner: Kidd and Cesaro

Kendra's Predict Winner:Usos, with Nattie costing her team the win.

Sam's Predicted Winner: Usos

Intercontinental Championship Match:

Bad News Barrett © vs. Dean Ambrose

I’ve been going back and forth on this one the most. By the end of WrestleMania, I expect Ambrose will be Intercontinental Champion, it’s just a matter of when he’ll win it. Ambrose hasn’t won a pay-per-view match since June, yet maintained main event status until his loss to Bray Wyatt at TLC. Strapping Ambrose would be the perfect way to keep him relevant. As Barrett, I really like him, but he just needs to take a break from the Intercontinental Championship. The title felt important in late 2014, but now it’s back to being the biggest joke as Barrett has gone under to the likes of Sin Cara and R-Truth since winning it. My prediction is Dean Ambrose will win the title here and the feud may be stretched out for a rematch at WrestleMania.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Time to start the build of Ambrose so he doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Plus, this is a perfect feud to continue into WrestleMania and they can do soemthing like a ladder match for the title. Ambrose wins the match with Dirty Deeds.

Joshua's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

This feud has really helped Ambrose’s storyline get back on track and I hope he takes the belt. His segment as a newscaster was awesome. He looked like an apathetic teenager in his dad’s old dress clothes and it was hilarious. Since returning from injury and taking back the belt BNB hasn’t been booked very well, losing multiple non-title matches including one to Ambrose. Ambrose turning his back on BNB during and after Barrett’s Smackdown match was great and really got under Barrett’s skin, they both sold it well. If the WWE decides that they have to have a belt change hands in this event this is the one I can see it being.

Paul's Predicted Winner: Bad News Barrett

The Lunatic Fringe is going to add a new title to his collection this Sunday. Everything that man touches turns into gold, let’s hope he can do the same for the prestige of the Intercontinental Championship.

Jeffery's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Andrew's Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Kendra's Predict Winner: Ambrose via DQ

Sam's Predicted Winner: Ambrose

United States Championship Match:

Rusev © vs. John Cena

As I’m writing this, I still have not decided on a winner. WWE could do a few different ways, and I’m not sure which I want them to! Rusev... He has impressed me a little, but I just don’t have full confidence in him. WWE has consistently pushed him to the point now that he is defending a midcard title against John Cena. I don’t want to see Rusev get the “Bray Wyatt treatment” like last year, but at the same time, I want to see John Cena as United States Champion. So just to keep it simple, I say this match ends in a draw and we will see the inevitable rematch at WrestleMania.

CJ's Predicted Winner: No Contest

I have maintained for weeks that this match won't happen at Fast Lane. I don't think it's wise to hold this match here. Rusev needs to be made stronger out of this program with Cena. I think going over at Wrestlemania will be much better then at Fast Lane. and you know with the WWE Network WWE can afford to do a bait and switch with this match.

Joshua's Predicted Winner: No match happens or No Contest

John Cena is one of the most polarizing figures in WWE history. That being said his name holds weight. As much as detractors may hate it him winning this match could bring some much-needed legitimacy to the US title. Rusev is the Bulgarian Iron Sheikh who could be utilized so much better than he is. This is the one match outside the Divas Title match that I have to force myself to care about. Just let Rusev be a force to be reckoned with and remove the Nationalism from the whole thing.

Paul's Predicted Winner: John Cena via DQ

I didn’t expect this match until Wrestlemania and I don’t see Rusev losing his title until then. I think a dirty finish is very likely for this match but somehow someway Rusev will still be the US Champ after Fast Lane.

Jeffery's Predicted Winner: Cena via DQ

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Cena via DQ

Andrew's Predicted Winner: John Cena

Kendra's Predict Winner: John Cena

Sam's Predicted Winner: John Cena

Winner faces Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31:

Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan

To me, this is perfect booking for the main event of Fast Lane. Here you have the hottest WWE superstar who is trying to get another shot at the WWE Championship going up against the 2015 Royal Rumble winner. The way I see it, if Roman wins, we get Lesnar vs. Reigns. If Bryan wins, a triple threat match is made. If Reigns is pulled out of the match, I will be ticked. WWE needs to stick to their original plans and have Lesnar vs. Reigns main event WrestleMania. I expect this to be a good, maybe even great main event match after the awesome closing segment on Raw. I foresee the fans accepting Roman Reigns’ win because he beat Bryan and officially “earned” the right to face Brock Lesnar.

CJ's Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns

Roman needs to win this in the worst way. Not just so all value in winning the Rumble isn't squeezed out of it, but beating Bryan cleanly would be huge for his career and momentum heading towards Lesnar and Wrestlemania. Having a great match with Bryan would silence some critics but he will never silence all of them. I really hope WWE doesn't do anything stupid like turning him heel after this match because that would be the worst thing you can do to him right now.

Joshua's Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns

The match the WWE Universe caused. Because of all the controversy that came from the Royal Rumble booking I've gone back and watched a lot of Reigns during his time in The Shield and his singles run, pre-injury. He had noticeably more fire and personality, especially in-ring, during that time than during his recent push. One positive that has come from this debacle is that I think Reigns got that back, especially over this past week. Him schmoozing with fans during Bryan's match on Smackdown was well-executed (I love that a fan had nothing for Reigns to sign so he offered up his arm and Reigns just gestured "whatever", said "Ok," and signed the guy's arm) the post-match brawl that ensued where Reigns teeth were smeared crimson due to a cut lip really stoked the fire. Even though the outcome has been all, but determined I will be looking for Reigns to take another step towards stardom. The guy is going to be fine, people. Let him develop. There's only one Rock and even he took time to get there.

Paul's Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns (This feels like cheating.)

As much as I want Bryan VS Lesnar to be the Main Event of Wrestlemania, I don’t see it happening. WWE seems to have made it very clear Reigns is their guy and unless they are planning some kind of triple threat scenario, I can only see Reigns going over in this Sunday’s Main Event.

Jeffery's Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns

Jesse's Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns

Andrew's Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns

Kendra's Predict Winner: Roman Reigns

Sam's Predicted Winner: Daniel Bryan
