David Angle, the older brother of Kurt Angle, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Friday morning, KDKA out of Pittsburgh is reporting. He will stand trial after being accused of killing his wife, Donna, during an altercation at their home last month.
As previously reported, Dormont police and paramedics responded to the 1000 block of Peermont Avenue for report of a domestic disturbance and a woman not breathing. There they found Donna Angle, 57, unresponsive on the floor of the living room. She was transported to St. Clair Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
David told police that he and his wife had an argument that September night in their living room over some vodka. When she tried to kick him, David claimed he restrained her by putting his foot on her chest and pulling. He couldn’t recall for how long but said it was not for minutes. When she became unconscious, he tried to revive her before calling 911.
“Prayers out to my brother and the whole family, it’s a hard time for everybody,” Kurt Angle said.
“We’re family and we always will be. We love each other and we’re just trying to support each other, especially right now,” Kurt Angle said.
