Samoa Joe, AJ Styles & Jay Lethal Part Of ROH On Destination America

We’re in the midst of one of the “juiciest” stories I can ever remember.

After a week of remaining silent regarding Impact Wrestling’s uncertain status on their network, Destination America announces that Ring of Honor will premiere next week. Not only that, but it will serve as the lead-in for Impact in their new Wednesday timeslot as ROH will air at 8/7c and Impact will air at 9/8c.

Not only that, but included in Destination America’s press release for Ring of Honor is former TNA main event talents Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. Not only that, Jay Lethal, former TNA star, is featured in the first promotional material for Ring of Honor on Destination America.

Next week’s premiere episode of Ring of Honor on Destination America will feature The Briscoe Brothers vs. The House of Truth, NJPW stars against ROH stars and former NFL lineman Moose vs. BJ Whitmer.

There are a lot of moving parts to this story. First, it's clear Destination America HAS NOT soured on professional wrestling. Will they use the remaining months of Impact Wrestling to grow viewership to Ring of Honor or is this some type of attempt to compile all the "secondary" non-WWE programming to create an alternative? While TNA's move from Spike TV to Destination America was seen as a major downgrade in terms of distribution, it's a major upgrade for Ring of Honor.
