Latest On The Outcome Of Rock vs. Cena, Wade Barrett's Injury, Rey Mysterio's Return, Travel Expenses In WWE

Months ago I asked your opinion on who is going to win at Wrestlemania XXVIII, either The Rock or John Cena, has your opinion changed at all? I have come out with a theory that Rock would win, Cena would turn and we could have a Rock/Cena II at Wrestlamania XXIX.

I have spent a lot of time going over the outcome of The Rock vs. John Cena at Wrestlemania and I will admit I don't envy Vince McMahon's decision. You could make a case for either worker but at the end of the day if The Rock is not returning to WWE full-time, it would be difficult to put him over the face of the company. There has been a lot of speculation about The Miz getting involved but I have been an advocate for a clean finish. The only way I would be for Miz getting involved would be to guarantee his elevation and I don't see that as a feasible position at this time.  While The Rock said he would be involved in Wrestlemania XXIX next year I don't know if there are plans for him to compete.  Obviously if he does plan on working, this could be a factor in the way the outcome of the match is booked.

When Wade Barrett comes back will WWE push him to the moon or take it easy with him?

Wade Barrett's dislocated elbow injury couldn't have happened at a worse time. Not only was he scheduled for a big push into the spring, he was slated for the big Wrestlemania payday. Injuries are one of the downsides of the business and the reason so many people work hurt is so they don't lose their support. In Barrett's case, his injury was severe enough where it required surgery and will require significant rehabilitation time for him to return. The last I heard WWE plans to pick his push up where they left off when he returns, however, there are no guarantees. It will hinge on what the landscape looks like when Barrett comes back, however, there are many that are high up on him. As for a timetable, Barrett is expected back in June or July.

When is Rey Mysterio scheduled to return to WWE?

Rey Mysterio is still targeting Wrestlemania XXVIII as his return from his knee injury. He is currently rumored as a possible participant for the 12-man tag team match for the battle of the brands as a member of Team Teddy. Nothing is confirmed but we should find out soon enough.

Does WWE have deals with local gyms when they are in town or do workers have to pay for their own trip to the gym?

WWE does not cover travel expenses and that includes gym fees. WWE workers are on their own on the road and while the WWE office can help them in booking flights, rental cars and hotels - they have to pay their own way. One of the first things a worker does when they arrive in a particular city is find a gym and get a quick workout before continuing their day.

Thanks Richard For Anws my Questions 🙂

and What Happens if The Miz Interfears and attack John Cena but John Cena Loses and that Give The Rock the win to set up for the next year's match

(Last Year, Dwayne attacked John Cena)

  • Latrell

I can see John Cena winning the match, but then The Rock will go to shake his hand and get in a rock bottom and the night ends with The Rocks music playing.

  • Philip Thompson

I imagine quite a lot of gyms would let them work out free in return for a signed photo to stick on the wall. If I had a gym, I'd quite like the publicity.

  • Aldo T

Here's hoping that Barrett gets his push when he gets back.

the rock is gonna win he wont lose in his home town, this will only setup rock vs cena 2 in wrestlemania next year where cena will beat the rock

There's so many different factors involved in Rock/Cena that it's nigh-on impossible to predict the outcome, even for people like Richard who are a lot closer to the inside, and that's exactly how it should be for this match. It's too big for it to be any other way, and it wouldn't be half as interesting if the outcome was predictable.
Personally I don't even want to try and predict. I want to watch WMXXVIII and be totally surprised by the end result, and enjoy every minute.
On that note, Mr Gray, Richard, best friend, best buddy, best pal, Owner and Editor ot the Best Damned Wrestling News Website on the Internet ™, http://WWW.WRESTLINGNEWSWORLD.COM (cheap pop, crowd goes wild)… if you should happen to find out who's going to win this, and if you decide to post it on here, please please please please PLEASE make sure to put lots of spoiler alert warnings up. I'm sure you'd have done that anyway, but I had to say anyway.
On a side note, notice that it's always Rock/Cena, never Cena/Rock. Even after seven years away from full time competition the Rock gets first billing. No matter how much the character John Cena Rises Above the Hate, that has to stick in the real Cena's craw just a little.

I'm looking forward to Wade Barret's return. With him, Sheamus, Drew, and Mason, the UK has a good strong presence in the WWE. Exactly how it should be! I just hope when he comes back they give him some decent music, because that thing they changed it to sucked big time. I know what they were going for, but it still sucked.

Rey Misterio… as much as I respect the man, I have no interest in him returning at all, to be honest. Here's the reasoning.
One, I'm not a child, so the superhero aspect doesn't get me all giddy.
Two, I'm not Hispanic, so I don't get giddy about him representing me in that respect.
Three, and this is sad to say, he just can't go any more. He's not the Rey he used to be. Injuries have taken their toll on him to the point where they severely limit his in-ring performance in comparison to the WCW-era Rey we'll always compare him to. It's a shame, but it's true, and it's sad.
If he does come back soon, I think he should seriously consider making this his last run, before his injuries put him out the hard way.

Regarding the last question, I know the WWE has staff for this, but I'm sure there's something more Vince could do to help his talent travel and train.
He could put an extra trailer or three on the road loaded with cross trainers and weight benches and things. For a small fee, to offset the cost of diesel, he could allow the talent to travel from town to town in the back of these trailers.
Not only would they get around much cheaper than if they had to buy their own plane tickets or rent their own cars, they could work out while they travel! It's perfect.
They could even use one of those open trailers normally used to transport livestock, so there's plenty of ventilation. I'm sure after a few towns those trailers would smell very similar to a lorry load full of pigs.
    What… not practical? Whatever.

I have no interest in seeing Rey return either, if I'm being completely honest. He just doesn't entertain me.

  • Toby Tyler

Glad all the experts are posting today ..

  • bryan

I honestly dont WANT to know who's going to win…I want it to be a suprise.

  • Latrell

Oh man, I thought I was the only one that didn’t care about Rey’s return. The 619? Come on.
