It was confirmed during the airing of UFC Fight Night 101: Whittaker vs. Brunson Saturday night on Fox Sports 1 that Daniel Cormier had to pull out of his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship fight against Anthony Johnson at UFC 206 on December 10, 2016 due to a groin tendon injury.

They also announced what we reported earlier here on Wrestling News World in that UFC 206 will now be headlined by Max Holloway vs. Anthony Pettis for the interim UFC featherweight championship. Jose Aldo was announced as the new UFC Featherweight Champion, indicating that Conor McGregor has indeed been stripped of the title he won just under 12 months ago.
