UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier elected for surgery to repair his torn adductor muscle near his groin.

We don’t have an update on how it went but the surgery was scheduled for yesterday. If everything goes well, Cormier is expected to be out of training for two months and hopes to be able to fight again in four months. This would roughly put his next fight in early April.

Cormier (18-1) was scheduled to defend the UFC light heavyweight championship against Anthony Johnson at UFC 206 on Dec. 10, 2016 but withdrew due to the injury.
