While Brock Lesnar dominated the headlines from Thursday’s Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) hearing, there was some other news to come out of it.
The NAC fined Nate Diaz $50,000 for his role in the UFC 202 press conference melee with Conor McGregor. In addition to the fine, Diaz was ordered to serve 50 hours of community service.
The fine was two and a half percent of Diaz’s fight purse, which was equivalent to the $75,000 fine given to McGregor for his role in the melee. McGregor has so far refused to pay the fine and is fighting the punishment in court.
McGregor went on to defeat Diaz by unanimous decision on August 20, 2016 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
