Ryan Bader fought his final fight under UFC contract in the main event of Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night 100 and it couldn’t have gone better. Bader knocked out Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, proving himself superior to the MMA legend, who he defeated at UFC 119 on September 25, 2010.
Bader had been offered a contract extension with the UFC prior to the fight but bet on himself and rejected it. Speaking after the fight, Bader addressed his future:
“Look, I love the UFC and I love fighting in the UFC. Gotta make sense, though. I’ve been a top five for a while, and I want big fights. There’s a big fight coming up in December, so we’ll talk with them and see where we go from here.”
The big fight in December Bader is referring to is obviously Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. That will headline UFC 206 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Dec. 10, 2016.
Prior to knocking out Nogueira, Bader knocked out Ilir Latifi in September at UFC Fight Night 93 in Germany.
